Overview: The Fujifilm Instax mini 8 instant camera can take
photos and instantly produce a sharp, high quality, credit card-sized print. The Instax
mini 8 comes with a neck
strap, and 2 "AA" alkaline batteries.
Instax mini Film: The Instax mini 8 uses
mini film, which comes in 2 packs of 10 sheets each. (No film
is included with the camera). The mini 8 is also compatible with Instax
mini Rainbow film, which comes in a box of 10 sheets in multiple colors. The camera instantly produces full color photos on
special paper that is 3.39" wide and 2.13" high. The image appears on the paper
as 2.44" wide by 1.81" high. The camera has a mechanical exposure
counter that counts down the number of unexposed films, and a film pack window
to indicate that a film pack is installed.
Viewfinder: You can frame your shots using the 0.37x Real
Image viewfinder, with a target spot to help you center your pictures.
Lens: The Instax mini 8 has a retractable 2-element 60mm
F12.7 lens. The focusing range is approximately 24" to infinity.
Shooting Modes: The Instax mini 8 has a mechanical Power On
button which extends the lens and starts the metering process. The camera
analyzes the scene and automatically indicates which of the four shooting modes
should be used with a lit LED. The shooting modes are manually selected by
turning the mode dial (surrounding the lens) to the indicated mode. The shooting
modes include: Indoors (aperture F12.7), Cloudy (F16), Sunny/Slightly Cloudy
(F22), and Sunny/Bright (F32). You can also select the High Key mode to take a
lighter picture. If you wish to take a lighter picture, you can set the mode
dial to a darker position than what is indicated by the LED.
Flash: The camera features a constant firing electronic
flash with automatic light adjustment. The flash range is approximately 24" to
8'-10". The recycle time is 0.2 to 6 seconds (when using fresh batteries).
No Tripod Mount: The Instax mini 8 does not have a theaded screw hole for mounting the camera to a tripod.
Power: The Instax mini 8 is powered by two "AA" alkaline
batteries (supplied). With fresh batteries, the camera should be able to shoot and print
about 100 pictures (ten 10-picture film packs). To help save battery power, the
camera will automatically turn itself after approximately 5 minutes on non-use.
