About the Fujifilm Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD
A compact prime lens that punches above its weight
Capture exquisitely detailed, professional-quality portraits with the Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R lens from Fujifilm. With a fixed equivalent focal length of 85mm, this prime lens offers a mildly telephoto perspective that's perfect for framing head shots. Its f/1.2 maximum aperture means it gathers plenty of light for shooting in all sorts of environments. And its built-in apodization filter (APD) gives you gorgeous-looking bokeh — sharply focused subjects against smoothly blurred backgrounds. With this lens attached to the front end of a compatible Fujifilm X-Series digital camera, you'll have a pro-quality rig that's about half the usual weight of a standard SLR camera and lens with equivalent specs.

Features
Overview: The Fujinon XF56mm F1.2 R APD is a standard prime lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 85mm. It has a built-in apodizing filter that makes it perfect for shooting portraits. It features a Fujifilm X-mount, and is designed exclusively for Fujifilm X-mount cameras, such as the X-E1, X-Pro1, and the X-T1. The lens includes front and rear lens caps, a lens hood, a Neutral Density (ND) filter, and a soft cloth pouch.
Optics: The XF56mm lens has 11 elements in 8 groups, including one aspherical lens, two Extra-low Dispersion lens elements, and an apodization filter. The lens has a 62mm filter thread for adding screw-on filters. The HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) multi-layer coating reduces lens flare and ghosting, especially in backlight conditions.
Apodization Filter: The built-in apodization filter progressively reduces light transmittance from the center of the aperture outwards. This helps smooth the outline of the subject and creates a more natural bokeh effect, making your portraits more three-dimensional. The areas in focus remain sharp, especially when shooting outdoors with the aperture at F1.2. Because the APD filter reduces the amount of light passing through the lens, the effective aperture (f-number) is shown in red on the aperture ring.
ND Filter: The XF56mm lens includes an ND8 (Neutral Density) filter that reduces the brightness of the light entering the camera to an eighth of its actual value. This is equivalent to approximately 3 aperture stops. The filter is a screw-on type, and comes with a clear plastic storage case.
Lens Hood: The lens comes with a bayonet-style lens hood to reduce glare and to protect the front element. When attached, the lens hood adds approximately 2.25" to the overall length of the lens. When not in use, the lens hood can be reverse-mounted on the lens for storage.
