Accele's RVC50 rear view camera gives you a clear view of what's behind you, so you can back up safely in almost any conditions. The camera sports a 120-degree wide view so you won't miss a thing back there, and the camera's built-in LED lights provide better visibility at night. The waterproof plastic case mounts to your license plate for a convenient and simple installation. And the standard RCA video cable allows the RVC50's picture to show up on virtually any video screen.
Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjuction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

Easy to instal, works great and makes hooking up a trailer a breeze.
Pros: easy to install and use
Cons: none as of yet
easy to install and use, plenty of cable and weather proof so far.
Pros: bright light seems to fade it out somewhat.
Cons: good view and helpful reference lines.
Fairly easy to install and works great except it's a bit difficult to see on a rainy night. For the money I can easily accept this downfall.
Pros: Quick and easy to install.
Cons: Hard to see on a rainy night.
The clarity is awesome
I had Crutchfield install this with many other sound upgrades. Quality of service is excellent, But this camera is crap. After it raining one night water seeped into the camera and two weeks later still not gone, and does not work at all. Crutchfield made good on their CS policy.
Cons: camera quality
Works great, day or night. Even has the guide lines come up in the screen. Little red wires on video cable don't need to be there.
Pros: Easy to install. Pulls up automatically in reverse. Once you know which vehicle wire to connect the radio harness reverse camera wire to, it's a piece of cake.
Cons: Little red wires on video cable don't need to be there. Longer video cable would be nice. I went to a local store and bought a RCA Coupler to connect two male to male cables to make it longer. It cost $10.00 Not a big deal, but just be aware.
Camera works great during the day but at nighttime and during rain/snow the image is blurry
Pros: Reasonable price
Cons: Schematic for install is not clear, not recommended for a novice installer
The camera works fine with the unit but it has LED lights that I have never found to operate.
Pros: Very good display
Cons: Water seems to stay on the camera when it rains causing a blurred view.
Easy to install, great picture.
Pros: Great picture, good value
Cons: instructions are a little vague
Initially this camera worked great and had a nice clear picture. However, after a few weeks the plastic lens became hazy and the view was cloudy and unclear. I ended up cutting out the plastic cover, which restored the picture. But now, it is cloudy and totally blocked. No view at all.
Not water/weather resistance at all. I live in California desert and we don't have wet winters in comparison to other locals, even in a El Nino year. After winter and first good rain it was non usable for backing....... White Out due to moisture in the casing.....
Pros: I thought it worked good when it was dry, fair picture......
Cons: Not water/weather resistance at all. I live in California desert and we don't have wet winters in comparison to other locals, even in a El Nino year. After winter and first good rain it was non usable for backing....... White Out due to moisture in the casing.....Crutchfield response on January 19, 2016 Whenever you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, especially a situation like this, please contact our customer service or tech support teams right away. The camera gets the job done. It is not what I would call a high end camera, but is good for the price. The instructions are a bit lacking...no mention of what to do with the orange wire at all. After reading reviews I saw it is for the reverse signal to the head unit, which I didn't need to hook up since my factory harness already had a reverse signal going to the head unit.
Pros: Low price, large guidelines.
Cons: No mention of orange wire in instructions. A bit hazy at night.
The camera works great, the clarity could be a bit better, but for the price it's amazing. Install was easy, it just took a long time to get it done on a 12 passenger van.
Works very well, has the red/yellow/green lines for distance and orients the image correctly. On very humid mornings, the lens fogs up, but I believe that will happen with any camera.
Pros: easy to install
Cons: Lens fogs up
I install the camera by my self. really easy. The only problem that I had, is the RCA cord, to short for my SUV and the orange cable on a side didnt know what to do, until I saw some of the questions. Found out that the orange cable has to be connected to the red + cable on the back of the reverse light, and the other side of the cable should be connected in one of the cables coming from the stereo (PIONEER purple) to notice the camera when is in reverse mode.
Pros: No to expensive and nice view
Cons: RCA Cable to short
Works great for a little extra judgement.
Pros: Easy installation, wiring reached my head unit (sedan) no need for extensions.
Cons: If it is rainy at night it is hard to make out the picture but does need cleaned a good bit, a little amount of dirt haze distorts picture as well.
It was a breeze to install. It ran it under the bed liner in my Avalanche and it reached the Pioneer AVH-X2600BT with no problems. I tucked the excess wires behind the driver's side light for the power and ran an extra back down for the HU indicator. Didn't even need to adjust the angle, but I could. Now I am no longer afraid my vertically challenged wife will back over anything! I have not noticed any problems with it at night, however, the city here is pretty well lit.
Pros: Far easier than I thought it would be!! Great camera for the price.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Work well. Instructions were easy to follow.
Pros: Great in the day time.
Cons: Poor in the night time.
I returned this camera due to the fact the cable was not long enough for the deck oh my suv, and they should be standard size.
This is a very good basic camera. It sticks out a bit far, but on my SUV that isn't a problem. I've had pretty good luck with the picture in most lighting conditions, and I like the fact you can adjust the camera angle. My only complaint is the RCA cable that came with it didn't quite reach my deck, so I had to buy an extension cable. Otherwise it's a good camera for the price!
Pros: Price, adjustable camera angle, easy to install.
Cons: Cable too short for my SUV.
For the cost this camera is great. Night vision is not good if you have small backup lights, but this worked out great on my Ford F150. Great for those short concrete polls that hide behind your truck bed!
Pros: easy install
Cons: night vision not so great
Great camera. I installed it on my Super Duty truck, viewing it with a Pioneer AVH X1500 DVD. Camera has a great color picture sunny or cloudy, night time does pretty well, picture gets a little grainy but still does well. I hard wired the power and ground leads to the battery and chassis with a switch on the dash instead of wiring it to the reverse lights, this way I can turn it on when I want to keep an eye on my trailer from time to time.
Pros: Great camera, very nice picture.
Cons: Power and Ground lead wire gauge is very small, can be hard to work with.
I purchased this rearview camera to use with a Boss radio. It was a breeze to install! It has worked well thus far. I have had it installed for 3 weeks now. I have used the camera function to hook up to my camera and it saves alot of wasted motion getting in and out of the truck to determine alignment. I would recommed this to anyone looking for a lower priced rearview camera. The only issue that I had was that the wiring harness was too short for my long wheel base truck. I had to purchase an extension cable locally to complete the wiring.
Pros: Price, viewing field, distance increments
Cons: Short wiring harness
It's a very good camera
Like one of the other reviews says, "You get what you pay for" The daytime image is okay if you are not wearing sunglasses. At night it is very hard to see the picture.
Cons: Nightime image while backing.
It's an alright product. It gets the job done. Like I said you get what you pay for.
Cons: Poor picture quality, big and nasty looking on my truck, video cable wasn't long enough to reach from my radio to my back bumper.
Really bad product I will not recommended I am disappointed.
Bought this in conjunction with an indash radio with backup camera or my motorhome, this is the one recommended by Crutchfield and worked great ,easy to install. Good choice.
Very easy to install and hasn't great picture
Pros: Great price
Good camera image in my Pioneer head unit, good in night and day. Easy to install (although it does not have any instructions), except the wiring is extremely thin gauge and very difficult to work with. I had the strip off a lot of the wire cover and fold over the wires multiple times to get anything decent to work with.
Pros: Good image, easy installation
Cons: Poor thin gauge wiring
I understand that this is a cheap camera, but come on...during the day it works fine, but at night, I can't see anything. Even in a lit area. The display is just fuzzy and dark. I am using an Alpine head unit so I know that is not the problem. I have been using this camera for over a month now and I am completely unsatisfied with it's performance. If you want to see at night, don't buy this camera, spend the money on a good one. I know when I have the extra money, I will be buying an Alpine back-up camera.
Pros: It's cheap
Cons: You get what you pay for...literally
Up to the moment everything is working well and seems effective.
Pros: I like that one can adjust the angle for the right view.

have to dill a small hole behind tag [ clarence Apr 29, 2016 ]
I tied my cable to the other back light cables on my truck. There should be a plastic cap/plug on your firewall. cut and "X" then push your cable through. Use silicon to seal the opening when you're done. I still don''t have mine working, I found out you have to tie it to your reverse switch under the dash. [ David Apr 02, 2016 ]
I purchased an RCA cable along with a couple of male to female adapters. I ran the cable through a rubber gromet in the firewall and routed it to the camera along the frame rail of my truck. I wire tied the cable to a factory wire bundle that was secured in the frame rail. I taped my connection points really well. I hope this helps!! [ EDDIE Apr 01, 2016 ]

I have forgotten. Crutchfield tech support is crazy good. Give them a call? [ THOMAS Mar 18, 2015 ]
There are two wires coming from the camera. 1 is a power cable. This cable will connect into another adapter that will need to be connected to a power source, such as the reverse lights on your car. The second cable with the yellow end is the video cable. This cable will connect the camera to the display in the front of the car. [ Tyler Mar 17, 2015 ]

The camera will work with that setup, but I would recommend going with a better quality camera. [ TIMOTHY Dec 18, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Soundstream uses a standard composite video connection for the backup camera, so the Accele will pair up just fine. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Dec 01, 2014 ] Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The JVC KW-50 and most all DVD/Navigation receivers have a rear view camera input which is universal. Therefore almost any backup camera, including the RVC50 will work just fine. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
