Product Research

Features

HDMI & USB Extension Cable: The Accele 6.25' HDMI & USB extension cable with mounting bracket (part # USBHDMI) connects to the HDMI input and USB port on the back of your in-dash head unit and provides a convenient connection for your HDMI component and USB device.

  • This extension will support Apple CarPlay on in-dash receivers that are equipped with a 1.5A USB port. It is not compatible with Apple CarPlay receivers with USB ports rated lower than 1.5A. However, this extension cable should not be used in conjunction with another USB extension cable (regardless of USB port rating).
  • This extension cable does not support Android Auto.

Male & Female Connectors: The 6.25' HDMI & USB extension cable features male and female connectors. There is a male HDMI connector and a female HDMI input. There is also one male USB (type-A) connector and one female USB (type-A) port. The male connectors plug into your head unit's rear-panel ports, while your devices are plugged into the female jacks of HDMI & USB extension cable.

Mounting Options: The Accele HDMI & USB extension cable with mounting bracket offers two mounting options.

  • Flush Mount: The female end of the extension cable features a flush mountable design. You can simply drill a 1.125" hole at the desired mounting location and fit the female end of the cable into the hole. A threaded mounting collar secures the cable in place.
  • Mounting Bracket: A mounting bracket is also included to surface mount the female end of the cable using the four supplied screws. Once the surface mount bracket is installed, the female end of the cable fits into the bracket. A threaded collar secures the cable to the mounting bracket.

Rubber Caps: A rubber cap is provided to protect the female HDMI & USB connectors of the cable.

Dimensions:

  • Mounting Bracket:
    • Width = 2.125"
    • Height = 2.0"
    • Depth = 2.25"
  • Flush Mount:
    • Diameter = 1.3125"
    • Depth = 1.75"
    • Cutout =  1.125" (diameter) x 1.625" (depth)
  • Cable Length: 6.25'

Q
Will these ports work with CarPlay and hdmi video. I have an Alpine i509 restyle wra jk?

A
Greetings Ralph, and thank you for your question. Your Alpine has a 2.4amp USB for Carplay ,the Accele, needs a minimum 1.5 amp, so your good there, and the HDMI on the Alpine is a standard size HDMI. This adapter will work on your Alpine.

Q
Iâ??m looking for an HDMI (male) cable to go into my old TV with a USB 2.0 (female) port, so I can play the contents of a flash drive on the TV screen. Will this do the trick?
jamie  Sep 23, 2021

A
This will not work. Also, you will need something that can read the files as an HDMI port does not give that type of control. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to discuss this and get a personal recommendation on a solution

Q
The Details section for this item deems it to be "...not fully compatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto." What qualifies (or disqualifies, rather) this product from being compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

I can confirm that the USB connection is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay on a Pioneer AVH4200NEX.

I have this port on my avh-4200 and haven't had any issues with apple car play. I originally wanted to use the iDataLink Maestro ACC-USB-RAM in my ram pickup but that one does my work with CarPlay but it did work with CarPlay. I bought this one as a replacement and I have the idatalink plugged into usb2. The setup works great for me so far.

Yep, I agree with Keith and Zak. Android Auto is very picky with the USB cables you use. Using this adapter made the input continue to pop in and out of the sources menu and never held a connection for more than a half second. Glad you noticed this disclaimer before buying, I didn't haha. But it fits perfectly in the little pop-out on my dash, it's a shame really. I think I might try to work some exacto knife/super glue magic to install the stock cable in the little rubber mount...

I couldn't give you a definitive answer but my guess is that it's word as not "fully" compatible because you'll still need the HDMI adapter cable from Apple to be able to connect your phone to it. If anyone has a more definitive take I'd also like to know.
scott  Feb 10, 2017
A
Do not get it if you plan on using car play. It kind of worked but like a skipping CD. Car play is cable picky.
zak  Feb 10, 2017

I own this product and seems to work fine with my apple car play. I believe apple/android compatible are more of a specific spec approval from apple/google.

Q
Do this also charge your device?

A
I have a Galaxy Note 4 and it does NOT charge the device, only transfers data. It shows the lightning bolt on the screen like it's charging, but does not seem to charge it. Will driver around for hours and it doesn't go up, so I'm guessing its transferring data only.
ladd  Jan 19, 2017
A
Yes , I charge my phone and also Ipad.
herbert  Jan 18, 2017
A
Yes, ithw USB port will also charge your device
jeffery  Jan 18, 2017
A
It depends on the device that the USB is plugged in to. If your stereo has a usb charging outlet and you plug the extension into that outlet, then yes it will charge the device. The cord is just an extension and does not have a power supply.

If I replace the lighter in my Sierra with this will my "flip" cover still close?

Yes your flip cover will still close and funtion
antonio  Jul 29, 2016

I'm not sure about your Sierra but it should. If you remove the lighter receptacle you should have a space that the until will fit into. It's very easy and I highly recommend it. The wire is long so you should zip tie it up so it doesn't take up a lot of space. I love mine.
