Overview
Overview: The
Valor RM-921C is a roof mount monitor with a built-in DVD player that can be
used as a stand-alone display with its supplied IR wireless headphones or can
be integrated into a mobile multimedia audio system using its audio/video RCA
outputs or built-in FM transmitter. The unit also features dual audio/video inputs
so you can connect optional external audio/video sources to the RM-921C. In
addition, the Valor RM-921C is equipped with a USB port and memory card slot.

Widescreen Monitor: The unit features a 9.2" widescreen 16:9 TFT Active Matrix
LCD. The screen has a total of 1,152,000 pixels (800 [H] pixels x 480 [V] pixels
x 3),
and is compatible with NTSC and PAL sources. The monitor has viewing angle of
100-degrees vertically (55-degrees from the bottom and 45-degrees from the top)
and 130-degrees horizontally (65-degrees left and right).
Adjustable Display Angle:
For the best viewing angle, you can manually tilt the monitor up and down
150-degrees.
Display Modes: You can choose
from the following screen modes - Wide, Pan&Scan, or Letter-Box
Picture Adjustments: For
optimal picture quality, you can make the following adjustments to the monitor
from 0 to 100 - brightness, contrast, color, and tint.
Multi-Language Menu: You can
choose from English, French, Spanish or Italian as you on-screen display menu
languages.
Wireless Remote Control: In
addition to the unit's hard-key controls along the inside frame, the roof
mount monitor comes supplied with an IR wireless remote control that operates
all the functions of the unit.
Audio
Output: The unit features a stereo Left/Right audio output to connect to
your vehicle's audio system. You can select a different rating level of dB for
the audio output from Off, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or Full.
Built-In FM Transmitter: The
RM-921C features a built-in FM transmitter used to supply audio from the unit
over RF frequency to your factory headunit which is not equipped with preamp
audio RCA inputs. You can also use the built-in FM transmitter with an optional
set of RF wireless headphones. The unit's FM transmitter can be set to either
88.7, 88.9, 89.1, 89.3, 89.5, 89.7 or 89.9 MHz.
Two A/V Inputs: The RM-921C
features two composite RCA audio/video inputs allowing you to connect up to two
external audio/video sources to the monitor and your audio system such as a VCR or Game system.
USB Port: The RM-921C features
a type-A USB port on the front panel that supports USB 1.1 for viewing JPEG
digital still images.
Memory Card Slot: The RM-921C
also features a memory card slot that supports Secure Digital cards,
MultiMediaCards, and Memory Stick for playback of JPEG digital still images.
Dual LED Dome Lights: The roof
mount monitor contains two white LED dome lights that can be manually turned on
or off with a switch on front of the unit. The unit's LED dome lights can also
be wired to your factory dome lights so they turn on and off whenever your
interior factory lighting turns on or off with the opening of your vehicle's
doors.
Auto Off: If there is no is no
video signal input to the unit, a NO SIGNAL message displays with a blue screen
background and after 30 seconds of no video input, the unit will power off
automatically.
Mounting: The RM-921C mounts
to roof of your vehicle with the supplied metal mounting bracket, rubber
mounting gasket and six
supplied self-tapping screws. The monitor attaches to the metal mounting bracket
with four supplied machine screws.
Built-In DVD Player
Integrated DVD Player: The
Valor RM-921C features a slot-load DVD mechanism on the right side of the unit
for playback of your DVD-video and audio-CD discs.
Disc Compatibility: The
RM-921C's integrated DVD player is compatible with the following 12cm discs.
- DVD-Video
- DVD+/-R
- DVD+/-RW
- CD-Audio
- CD-R/CD-RW with MP3
- VCD/SVCD
Note: Multi-session
CDs and 320kbps WMA files cannot be played on the player.
MP3 Playback: When a MP3 disc
is inserted into the player, a menu screen appears automatically. You can use
the menu screen to select the folders and tracks you want or the player plays
the tracks in the order they were burned onto the disc.
Playback Functions: The RM-921C
features the following playback functions for your CD or DVD discs.
- Repeat:
- DVD: You can repeat
current chapters, current titles, or all of the DVD. You can also repeat
only a certain segment of the disc by using A-B repeat.
- CD: You can repeat
current tracks or entire CD. You can also repeat only a certain segment
of the disc by using A-B repeat.
- MP3: You can repeat
current files or current folders
- Random: You can play the
audio of tracks or folders of a CD in a random order.
- Multi-Angle: If a DVD
video is filmed from multiple angles, you can choose to view the DVD video
from different perspectives.
- Zoom: During DVD video
playback you can zoom in at 2x, 3x, 4x, 1/2x, 1/3x or 1/4x the normal
viewing range.
Search Functions: The RM-921C features the
following search functions for your CD or DVD discs.
- Next/Previous: This feature allows
you to go to the next or previous track on a CD or chapter on a DVD.
- Fast Forward/Rewind: This feature
allows you to fast forward or rewind through a disc at 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, or
32x speed.
Last Position Memory: The integrated DVD
player will resume playback of where ever you stopped playback on your disc as
along as the disc is not ejected.
Parental Control: This function of the
RM-921C restricts the viewing of movies to children of appropriate age levels
only. You can select from 8 different levels which are protected by a 4-digit
password.
IR Wireless Headphones
IR Wireless Headphones: The Valor RM-921C features a built-in IR transmitter that functions with the
supplied Valor ACC-HP1 IR wireless headphones which allows you to listen to your
DVD or CD in privacy. The IR headphones operate off of a carrier frequency of
2.8 MHz for the right channel and 2.3 MHz for the left channel. The wireless
headphones requires two "AAA" alkaline batteries, which are not
supplied. The lightweight headphones offer an adjustable fit with
comfortable foam ear-pads and a soft leather headrest. The battery compartment
is on the left earpiece, while the On/Off button is located on the right
earpiece. The right earpiece also has a rotary volume thumbwheel control, and a
red LED which illuminates when power is on. The headphones Auto Power Off
feature turns the headphone's power automatically off after a few minutes
without receiving a signal source.
