Focal's Polyglass CVX speakers use precision craftmanship and advanced materials to make a strong sonic impression. These sturdy 2-way speakers bring superb sound quality to the factory speaker locations in your vehicle.

The 130 CVX 5-1/4" speakers feature a Polyglass cone that's created by depositing a layer of hollow glass microbeads over a layer of cellulose pulp. This unique material combines the warm sound of cellulose with the incredible strength of glass, for a cone that responds rapidly with extremely low resonance. A butyl rubber surround helps control cone movement and promotes high power handling. The ABS plastic basket provides a strong, non-resonant housing for accurate, uncolored sound.

Focal designed the aluminum inverted dome tweeter to disperse high frequencies evenly for a big, open soundstage. You can rotate the tweeter to improve definition in your listening positions. The built-in 2-way crossover ensures a smooth transition from lows to highs, so vocals and instruments sound natural. Grilles are included.

Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

wow. These along wtih a jl audio amplifier and a jl processor, really made it sound like a band is in my car. Was hoping for bose quality sound, and achieved even greater. I have some high end 6x9s for the rear, and I dont see the need for a subwoofer. the sound is crisp and articulate.

Pros: price, sound, quality

Cons: none

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

All I can say is wow! I've used Focal nearfield monitors in the recording studio and always liked their neutrality. When my son wanted a new system for his car, I immediately went to (as I have for the past 30 years) and saw these and they were on sale (we had a budget). The sound that comes out of these things is classic Focal. Well defined bass, great mids and smooth highs. Highly recommended!

Pros: Sound

Cons: None

Product Research

Polyglass Cone: The woofer cone has a cellulose pulp base and is coated with a uniform deposit of hollow glass microballs. The addition of the Polyglass layer significantly increases the cone's rigidity without adding much weight. This combination takes advantage of the accuracy and neutrality of the hard outer surface, but maintains the superior damping characteristics of the cellulose pulp.

Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.

Basket: The woofer features a basket made of 20% fiberglass filled ABS.

Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.

Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter rotates on its post, so it can be pointed toward the listener.

Crossover: The 12 dB/octave crossovers built onto the back of the speaker use audiophile grade polypropylene capacitors and air core inductors to ensure high definition and a dynamic sound quality.
