At Focal, all that matters is music. Focal's sound gurus engage in intensive listening sessions as they design a new line of speakers, making it their mission to create products that deliver uncanny realism, sweeping dynamics, and breathtaking depth. During the hands-on production process, they test every model meticulously to ensure that they meet Focal's exacting standards.
The K2 Power 130KR 5-1/4" component speaker system bears the hallmarks of Focal's "Power Hi-Fi" philosophy. The nimble Aramid and glass-fiber woofers demonstrate the control needed to reproduce delicate classical passages, yet they'll handle the power needed to drive your bass-heavy music with authority. The sturdy zinc-aluminum alloy baskets are non-magnetic so they won't interfere with the speaker's own electronics.
Focal's inverted dome tweeters act like little woofers, dispersing the highs in a wide pattern to create an exceptionally natural soundstage. K2 Power crossovers use hand-made components developed by Focal to deliver an ideal blend of the highs and lows for a dynamic stereo image. Three levels of tweeter and two levels of midrange control let you dial in the sound to your car's environment.
Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

Very happy sounds great
Pros: loud and clear
I saw these go on sale and didn't give a second thought to ordering a pair. Mid-range is among the best I've ever heard from a set of car speakers. Very present and clear - something almost every set of speakers I've ever had seemed to struggle with. The tweeters replaced a pair of JL Audio separates and they initially seem to be providing a wider range and more open sound stage. Very happy with them so far.
Pros: Open, spacious staging, clear and present mid-range.
Cons: Expensive. I likely would not have bought them at full retail. Large, bulky crossovers. Make sure you have room.
The Focal 130KR speakers are worth the money. I purchased this set to replace my Boston Acoustics 6.5 Pro Series I've had since the summer of 1997. They were fantastic speakers but were ruined in a crash. I have auditioned other component speakers but could not find the same sound I've been used to for the last 14 years. Then I came across the 130KR that were installed in my friends truck He provided a demo and I was sold. I've noticed metal dome tweeters are usually more distinct and crisp at lower volumes compared to...lets say silk dome tweeters. Silk dome tweeters don't sound harsh when turned up. The Focals seem to have the best of both worlds at low and high volumes. I do admit, they are a step up from my old school Boston Acoustics. I was able to flatten my EQ settings because the overall tone was surprisingly even. They are being powered with a JL Audio HD900/5 that was purchased with the Focals. You get what you pay for and I highly recommend this set.
Pros: Voices/dialog sound natural. Maintains detail at high volume. Crossovers you want to show off instead of hide.
Cons: *I expected better speaker terminal connections at this price. *Larger polarity markings. *Polarity identification was slightly covered with solder. *Terminals look like they came from an entry level speaker. *Expensive
well u might be thinking that your paying for the brand but your really paying for pure quality if u got the $$$ for these their definitely the ones for you, the high's are verry smooth and crisp and not harsh like others, the woofers are great they handle mid base very well, these speakers blow bose out of the water as much as i hate to say it. buy these!!!!!

K2 Cone: The woofer cone is a sandwich composite consisting of a foam core, a structural glass fiber bottom layer, and a Kevlar top layer. This combination of materials results in a rigid, light weight cone with excellent damping characteristics.
Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.
Zamak Basket: The woofer features a cast Zamak basket. Zamak is a rigid alloy of Zinc, Aluminum, Magnesium, and Copper. Zamak is non-magnetic.
Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.
Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted Kevlar dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter has a Neodymium magnet to provide a powerful magnetic field for the voice coil, while still maintaining the tweeter's compact dimensions.
Mounting Options: The tweeter can be surface or flush mounted using the included adapters. Focal recommends flush mounting, but the included angled cup allows surface mounting at one of two angles; approximately 15° and approximately 40°.
Components: Focal uses audiophile grade polypropylene capacitors and air core inductors to ensure high definition and a dynamic sound quality.
Tweeter Level: You can adjust the output level of the tweeter on the crossover to -6 dB, -3 dB, or 0 dB.
Midrange Level: Set the midrange output to High or Flat to match their position in the car. When the mids are installed low in the door, some of the output is absorbed by the upholstery and they benefit from the High output setting.
Crossover Slopes: The crossover uses 2nd order, 12 dB per octave low-pass and high-pass filters. The crossover frequency for both is 3,500 Hz.
Wiring: The inputs and outputs are screw terminals; they will accept bare wire or spade connectors up to 0.315" wide.

High end speakers at a deep discount! [ Paul Apr 09, 2016 ]
Read many reviews and listened to them at a local audio shop. Had to get em, especially now that their are $530 instead of $850! [ Mathis Feb 16, 2016 ]
Yes. I haven't run a channel per speaker with an electronic crossover in years though. You'd be giving up the factory crossovers which are very good units. [ John May 22, 2016 ]
The Focal crossover just has 2 terminal inputs for one power amp channel, 2 out terminals for the woofer and 2 for the tweeter. it is not bi-ampable Bi-amping would require that the crossover has 2 (4 terminals total) separate bridged inputs for the woofer and tweeter. The bridged inputs on the crossover would be disconnected when bi-amping was chosen. I don't see this on my crossover. That is not to say that the tweeters cannot be hooked up with another amp and simple series cap to keep out the lows. However, a better 12 db per octave cap and inductor xover like the one on the Focal crossover is best. The cap goes in series with the tweeter and the inductor is after the cap in parallel with the tweeter. The cap acts as a high impedance to the low frequencies and the inductor acts as a low impedance to the lows, shorting them away from the tweeter coil. Or you could order a 2-3k high pass 4 ohm xover from parts express which should work fine. [ robert May 20, 2016 ]
Yes, they can be bi-amped. You will not use the crossovers when bi-amped. Instead, the crossover points will be set on the amp, or, if you have one, the sound processor (digital processor) . [ Paul May 20, 2016 ]
