Perfect sound. Discreet style. Premium construction. These are the standards that define Focal – and the reasons why listening to Focal speakers is an absolute pleasure. The Access line offers a marriage of performance and affordability, allowing you to experience the best in sound with a guilt-free conscience.
With the first song, Focal's Access Series 165AC 6-3/4" speakers will make your old factory models fade into a distant memory. High-quality components in the built-in crossover ensure a seamless distribution of frequencies to the woofer and tweeter, for a totally natural sound. The DFS (dual fiberglass structure) woofer cone delivers precise mid-bass and midrange reproduction while offering full, articulated bass. Coupled with a butyl rubber surround, the cone's all-weather durability ensures performance even in the hottest, most humid environments without distortion or warping.
The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.
I originally purchased the Focal-Access-165CA1, however while the car was in for upholstery they seem to have gotten some of the sound deadening near the speaker which rendered the speaker from working.
So, since the system that's in the car is all focal, I wanted to ensure I was purchasing the same specific speaker that I had in prior to this occurrence.. The sound system is joined up the a JL audio amp, that plays my music, it's as if I'm in a orchastra and the clarity that the speaker provide are above reproach.. Cant say enough of how happy I'm with these speakers. Fitting was perfect, delivery on time and I'm back to listening my music in my 67 Nova..
Pros: Great sound
Great speaker for the money
Cons: A little pricey
After listening to many well known speakers such as Pioneer, JL, Alpine and more, these are the way to go. The sound is so crisp and clean with solid lows and sharp highs, these 6.5" are killers. They blow away the competition by a long shot. Yeah sure, I spent about 100 bucks more than I had planned, very much worth the extra money. I'm not trashing the others but by comparison, these hit the sweet spot. I've heard of Focal but never gave them a chance to really hear them. Very happy with the speakers and head unit, Kenwood KDC-X399. Last component to be added is JL 10 sub.
Pros: Great sound handling all the music I throw at em, sound bitchen cranked up or turned down low to talk. Awesome sound. Just get them you won't look back at the others.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Its Focal but its still and inexpensive speaker.
Pros: Better bass than most 6.5 speakers.
Cons: Doesn't seem to be very rich sounding, but that could be my ineptitude at figuring out the Alpine HU.
Amazing sounding speakers. I'm an audiophile and they sound amazing being amped simply off the Kenwood KDC-X997 deck. My Focal FPP-5300 5 channel amp is on it's way so they'll be truly amped soon, I can't wait to see how they sound then!
Pros: Perfect tweeters, they sound incredible. Not to overpowering but definitely there. The 6.5's are loud and clear, great response. Be sure to get a deck that had built in crossovering. So you can cut off frequencies that they can't handle that your sub will. Lots and lots of very solid mounting holes Not super deep speakers, installed in a 1999 Eclipse and have no problems with the windows hitting the speakers or anything like that.
Cons: Doesn't come with speaker wire, but that's probably pretty standard.

Cone Material: The Dual Fiberglass Structure Membrane (DFS) is a light, rigid, woven glass fiber woofer cone. The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.
Basket: The woofer features a fiberglass reinforced ABS basket.
Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.
Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter is angled and rotates on its post, so it can be pointed toward the listener.
Size Classification Note: Some manufacturers, including Focal, call this size speaker a 6-1/2". Because it requires a larger cutout than a standard 6-1/2" speaker, Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this size as a 6-3/4". Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.

No, they're not really made for marine applications. But they're awesome and better than other speakers that are water resistant. I'd put them on my boat and just be careful to keep water away. [ Arist Sep 11, 2015 ]
I've had them on my Harley for the summer. I've ridden through rain and washed the bike often. I've never had an issue. I don't know that they're waterproof but the don't seem to have an issue with being wet. I hope this helps. By the way, I'm currently putting a second set on this bike and have 2 more bike they are being installed in. [ Michael Sep 10, 2015 ]
Waterproof is a very specific term, and I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I can tell you that I've had these speakers and other focal's installed in a boat for several years with no problem. [ Steve Sep 10, 2015 ]
No. [ Jeffrey Sep 10, 2015 ]
NO? Seriously, no they aren't. If you're looking for waterproof, look for marine speakers. [ BRAD Sep 10, 2015 ]
