Bass rich

Focal's Auditor Series R-250S subwoofer is an excellent choice if you're upgrading your system on a budget. Paired with Auditor Series coaxial or component speakers, you won't spend too much cash, but your new listening experience will make you feel like a millionaire.

Made to last

This sub's durable polypropylene cone and butyl rubber surround will endure the ravages of heavy bass output, while delivering powerfully precise low notes, thump after thickety-thump. Focal used a special design that maximizes ventilation inside the sub so that heat is properly dispersed during extended use. Match this sub with a sealed or ported enclosure, feed it up to 250 watts RMS, and you'll be bass rich for years to come.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 200 and 375 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

We have a huge assortment of fre fab boxes here. Have been auditioning for a while, Works good in sealed .75 enclosure. Very easy to adjust tone to taste. After two hours of low volume music *break in, Bass was more defined next day after cool down.

Pros: Basic SQ sub, should give many years of good performance.

Cons: May have a little more better quality on material used to manufacture driver. We have many budget subs here that outperform this sub, But the type of basket and materials are less desirable.
