Hear hi-res music from your iPhone® through your car stereo wirelessly
So you've ditched your CDs and you're packing your music library on an Apple device. However, listening to your digital tunes in the car presents a couple of problems. The first is connectivity, which means you've got wires running into the glove compartment, across the dash, or somewhere else that might be inconvenient. The second issue is the fidelity of your songs — even if you've got lossless files on your iPhone, iPad®, or iPod touch®, they still don't sound as great as they could through your car's stereo. Now, Focal's iBox with Apple AirPlay makes wireless transmission of your tunes and breathtaking sound quality readily available, so you can hear a noticeable difference without any annoying wires.
The Focal iBox generates its own Wi-Fi signal, allowing it to easily communicate with any AirPlay equipped Apple device within your vehicle. The iBox offers analog (RCA) and digital (coaxial/fibre optical) outputs for connecting to your car radio or external digital signal processor. The iBox receives the music wirelessly from your Apple device then employs an advanced 24-bit/96kHz digital-to-analog converter to give your music files immaculate sound reproduction — even better than most CDs — before passing them to your stereo.
You'll hear details and nuance in your music that you thought were probably lost to the ether, especially if you use the digital output to lower the chance of noise entering the audio chain. The iBox also features its own master clock to keep the audio free from jitter, distortion, and degradation. Focal's dedication to uncompromised sound means your music files won't encounter any noise, harshness, or artifacts between your Apple device and your car's sound system.
Control through your Apple device
You'll still have to choose the songs and view relevant info from your iPod touch, iPad, or iPhone, but it's a small price to pay for such improved sound without any wires in the way. The iBox requires power and ground connections, and you'll have to set up the Wi-Fi network in your vehicle with the included network card and passcode before the iBox can communicate with your AirPlay enabled device.
