Focal's Integration ISN component speaker systems use precision craftmanship and advanced materials to deliver strong performance. And these systems include shallow-mount woofers that'll fit in the factory speaker locations in a wide range of vehicles.
The ISN 130 system features a 5-1/4" woofer with a Polyglass cone that's created by depositing a layer of hollow glass microbeads over a layer of cellulose pulp. This unique material combines the warm sound of cellulose with the incredible strength of glass, for a cone that responds rapidly with extremely low resonance. A butyl rubber surround helps control cone movement and promotes high power handling. The ABS/fiberglass basket provides a non-magnetic, non-resonant housing that won't color the sound.
Focal designed the aluminum/magnesium inverted dome tweeter to disperse high frequencies evenly for a big, open soundstage. Focal built the high- and low-pass filters into the speaker leads on the woofer and tweeter, so vocals and instruments sound natural and installation will be easier without those extra boxes to make room for.
We're always impressed by the sound of Focal speakers, and these components give you a great option for superior performance in vehicles that don't have a lot of room for speaker upgrades. You'll enjoy incredibly natural and realistic reproduction from this system, especially when combined with a good subwoofer. Woofer grilles are not included.
Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.
A component speaker system gives you the best possible performance from your car audio system. A system consists of separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers, each designed to cover one specific range of frequencies. As separate components, the woofer can move freely to deliver more powerful performance, while the tweeter can be custom-mounted in a better spot up closer to your ears, revealing a whole new world of detail. Separate crossovers are far superior to the simple filters wired into full-range speakers, so the components work together for smoother, more focused sound.
I replaced my front Blaupunkt speakers with Focal ISN 100 4" speakers. I left the 5 1/2" Blaupunkts in the rear. The Focals filled the front with awesome sound. Could hear things I never heard before. I then put the Focal ISN 130 5 1/2" speakers in the rear. Huge difference - and I was initially skeptical that replacing the rear speakers would make a difference - hence the wait. I do have these speakers connected to a Focal FD 4.350 amp. Just to be sure, I reconnected the 4 Blaupunkts to the amp, then the 4 Focals again. No question that the Focals are much better. Connecting the Focals to the head unit (Pioneer AVIC 8000NEX) without the amp reduced the quality of the sound - they were marginally better than the Blaupunkt's. (i.e. I do not feel they are worth the extra money without using a separate amp - no matter how good you think your head unit is). The amp combined with the Focals makes a huge difference compared to the Blaupunkts connected the the amp. These are the entry level Focals!
After using the Focal speakers for a few days (about 5 hours of play time) I found that they sounded even better and that the sound was consistent. At first I thought it was the radio station or my Bluetooth connection. Reading the fine print on the Focal site, there is a 'burn in period' for their speakers. The sound is now consistently rich, deep and so much, much better than with my old speakers that I have gotten past the cost of buying them.
Pros: Superior sound
Cons: Expensive & definitely recommend that they be connected to an amp.
They sound much better than expected, better than speakers costing twice as much!!! Very, Very impressive and would recommend to "ANYONE " don't hesitate (Get Them) .
Pros: Non so far
Cons: Increadable price for the quality in both sound and construction.

Polyglass Cone: The woofer cone has a cellulose pulp base and is coated with a uniform deposit of hollow glass microballs. The addition of the Polyglass layer significantly increases the cone's rigidity without adding much weight. This combination takes advantage of the accuracy and neutrality of the hard outer surface, but maintains the superior damping characteristics of the cellulose pulp.
Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.
Neodymium Magnets: The woofers use Neodymium magnets, which are much stronger than ceramic magnets of the same size, thus reducing the size and weight of the speaker.
Magnet Cover: The woofers have protective covers on the magnets. The measurements listed in the specifications were taken with the covers removed. The covers add approximately 1/8" to the depth and 5/8" to the magnet diameter.
Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter has a Neodymium magnet to provide a powerful magnetic field for the voice coil, while still maintaining the tweeter's compact dimensions.
Mounting Options: The tweeter can be surface or flush mounted using the included adapters. Focal recommends flush mounting, but the included angled cup allows surface mounting at approximately 45°.
|Flush Mount||45° Surface Mount|
|Depth||0.67" (1.75" including stud bolt)||0.61" (screw depth)|
Crossovers: The 22" wires attached to the tweeters and the included 7" woofer wires have integrated crossovers; 6 dB/octave low-pass and 12 dB/octave high-pass. The input end of each tweeter wire has three leads, a negative and two positives. The positive leads are labeled Car and Display, with a lower output level from the Car lead (useful because the placement of the woofer in a typical car installation requires the tweeter output be lowered to maintain a balanced sound). Both ends of the woofer wires have quick-slide terminals that easily connect to the terminals on the woofer basket. Two ISO connectors are included, used for plug and play installation in certain vehicles. Because the woofer and tweeter crossovers are separate, the system can be bi-amped.
Note: No crossover point frequency specifications are provided.
