Focal Performance PC 130

Engineered for excellence

If you're looking for more than just replacement speakers, Focal's Performance Series speakers let the music speak for itself, providing transparent reproduction for all your recordings and listening pleasures. This PC 130 5-1/4" speaker uses a lightweight, exceptionally rigid Polyglass cone in a sturdy frame to create accurate, richly-textured sound, whether played loud or soft.

Advanced tweeter

Focal brought some of their high-fidelity technology out of the studio and into your car with the Performance inverted dome tweeters. This technology results in wider dispersion and a higher frequency response, so you'll notice greater detail in the instruments and voices. Each tweeter features a built-in phase plug and wave guide, which act together to increase the power of high-frequency notes and improve the stereo soundstage. You can also tilt the tweeter for better imaging, a big help in vehicles where the speakers are not optimally placed.

Technology that sounds like magic

Focal applies molten glass microballs onto cellulose pulp to create their Polyglass cones, combining the crisp response of the rigid glass layer with the warm sound of a paper cone. The aluminum tweeter has been similarly treated with a softer, more easily damped material that makes the treble distinct without sounding harsh. You can expect superior performance from these speakers, whether you power them with a quality outboard amp or your car stereo.

Product Highlights:

  • 2-way 5-1/4" speakers (pair)
  • Polyglass woofer with butyl rubber surround
  • processed aluminum inverted dome tweeter
  • grilles included
  • 4-ohm impedance
  • 5-60 watts RMS power range (120 watts peak)
  • frequency response: 80-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 91.0 dB
  • depth: 2-1/4"
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

These things are better than Bose or Boston or they are neck-and-neck. These speakers are great. The tweeter rises over the rest of the speaker so your car factory grill isn't going to work...easy install. The speakers them selves sound so crispy it is incredible. And when I went to Focals website and saw how they are handmade I just went whooooosh! #Epic

Pros: Have you ever been to an Dire Straits show? Me neither but I drive through one everyday to work.

Cons: Wish they were not so expensive....but the quality on these guys in unmatched...if you got the $$$ then these are your new toys. I got them along with the Focal PS130s for some high quality sound.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Look, I've brought speakers from Polk, Rockford, Infinity Kappa the last couple of years and these blow them out the water. It is not even close. These are the only speakers I have bought that handle everything well. The music comes out super clear. RIght now, I have a factory 2012 Honda Civic system and Boston Acoustic 4 channel amp pushing these and they go hard! I have Polk Dxi speakers in the rear and they sound horrible compare these Focal speakers. Unfortunately the PC 130s only fit in the front of my ride but trust me as we speak I am ordering the Focal IS 130s for the rear. One note though, I think alot of the quality of your sounds is in the bit rate of the music you are listening to. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Drop the extra dough if you want the high quality sound these speakers deliver.

Pros: Handles bass really well. The tweeters rarely strain when turned up.

Cons: Sometimes they are too damn loud!

extremely loud

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

to be honest i had kicker 5 1/4 in my front doors and they didn't sound very loud. i put these focal speakers in and they sounded okay but not very loud. so i put a new head unit in and these things sream i love loud music and i have to turn them down the clarity in the highs are amazing and very crisp. That being said because i had a stock head unit with the kickers i don't know how good they would of sounded with the new head unit, but either way i reall like these speakers. Eventually i will get a pair for the rear

Pros: extremely loud

Cons: if the volume is turned up too much some songs sound a little distorted, but that is prob the same with all speakers

focal pc130's are amazing

Product Research

Polyglass Cone: The woofer cone has a cellulose pulp base and is coated with a uniform deposit of hollow glass microballs. The addition of the Polyglass layer significantly increases the cone's rigidity without adding much weight. This combination takes advantage of the accuracy and neutrality of the hard outer surface, but maintains the superior damping characteristics of the cellulose pulp.

Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.

Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.

Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter rotates on its post, so it can be pointed toward the listener.
