A fresh approach to earbuds for serious music lovers

Focal's Sphear headphones represent some serious innovation in earbud design: audiophile-grade sound from a low-profile in-ear headphone — at an affordable price. Their sleek, rounded design and black high gloss finish with stainless steel accents make them look just as good as they sound. Convenient in-line controls work with phones, tablets, and even laptops.

Keep your ears happy

The designers at Focal were intent on creating a pair of earbuds with the same acoustic properties as their world-renowned speakers, but they also needed to stay comfortable through hours of listening. To that end, they spent two years developing an entirely new, spherical design that shifts the weight of the headphones so they don't press on your ear canal. This sphere-shaped housing also allows for larger drivers than you'll find in most in-ear headphones.

Get the most out of your music

The Sphears' 10.8mm drivers deliver sound that stays true to the original recording, with Focal's signature detail and clarity in the midrange. Give these headphones some high-quality source material to play, like high-resolution audio files, and you'll see what they're really made of. Choose the right sized ear tips for you, and they'll create a seal that blocks out external noise. Since the earbuds can't keep out all the noise, Focal enhanced the bass response to help tune out distractions from noisy environments. Ported acoustic chambers provide excellent tonal balance for rich, realistic sound.

Features

Overview: The Focal Sphear in-ear headphones are designed for high-quality sound, build quality, and durability. The headphones have an inline microphone and a 1-button universal remote. Included in the box are three pairs of silicone ear tips, three pairs of memory foam ear tips, an airline adapter, and a zippered storage case.

Design: The Sphear headphones feature large 10.8mm electro-dynamic drivers for rich and natural sound. The drivers are housed in a ported acoustic chamber to provide solid bass response.

Ear Tips: The Focal Sphear in-ear headphones include six pairs of ear tips for fit and comfort: three pairs of silicone ear tips and three pairs of memory foam ear tips. The silicone ear tips are comfortable to wear, and feature a single flange that fits all shapes and sizes of ear canals. The memory foam ear tips are designed to be compressed before inserting into the ear canal. The ear tips expand back to their original size to fill the ear canal. Both types of ear tips provide optimal noise isolation to shut out ambient noise, so all you hear is your music.

Cable Design: The 53" headphone cable features an in-line omnidirectional microphone on the left side, and a universal 1-button remote on the yoke. The remote is compatible with Apple, Android, and Windows devices, and will control the following functions: Play/Pause 1x, Next Track 2x, Previous track 3x, and Answer/Hang up calls 1x. The remote does not control headphone volume. An airline adapter, with a single female 3.5mm jack and dual male 3.5mm plugs, is included for using the headphones with in-flight entertainment.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Do the the ported acoustic chambers let out sound? Enough so you can't use them in a quiet space?

A
It depends. But, yes it lets out a little sound when playing, but not quite like a conventional over ear headphone. Someone sitting next to you will faintly hear it.

A
No, they do not let out sound. I will say that they do let in some ambient sound. The are not noise cancelling. If you use the proper size memory foam ear buds the ambient noise is lessened significantly. Hope this helps!
