Thule Force XL 625
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I purchased the Thule Force XL during a labor day sale for 20% off. Purchasing this product online and getting free shipping was key as the box it comes in is HUGE! I got the Thule for my 2013 Buick Enclave. The box fits well on top of the SUV with the Buick factory roof rails installed. However, it was a little bit of pain to put on top by yourself (especially since I have two sunroofs on my car). I highly recommend following the instructions and get a 2nd person to help putting the cargo box on top of your car. Once the box is on the roof rails all you have to do is tighten the clamps to lock it in place and you are done! The box is just large enough (height wise) to fit a stroller with room to spare to put extra bags. While driving you can hear a little bit of wind noise. I feel if I didn't have sun roofs on the car the wind noise will be almost non-existent. The box will affect your gas mileage, but only by 1-3 mpg. Overall it is a very nice box. As others has mentioned the lid is a feels a bit flimsy when you open and close the box, but you can tell it is sturdy and won't break. I haven't drove with it when it was raining, but lid overhangs the base enough that I wouldn't think water will get in the box. The box does come with a couple of straps to prevent your cargo from moving around while driving which is nice. Overall it is a great box, just make sure you have enough room in your garage when it is not in use!
Pros: Large, easy to clamp down, sleek and one of the most aerodynamic cargo boxes on the market
Cons: A little heavy at 50+ lbs and due to the size it is a little difficult to get on top of a SUV with one person.
