Superior performance doesn't have to be expensive. Orion's Cobalt Series subwoofers handle anything from heavy hip hop beats to the lowest tones in a Bach fugue, without bottoming out your bank account. Orion built these subs with high-roll surrounds that extend cone movement, so you'll hear and feel your bass.

The CO124S 12" subwoofer handles up to 200 watts RMS, with a 3-stage venting system that keeps it performing reliably even during heavy play. Cross-venting on the UV-resistant, treated paper cone helps funnel air away from the inner works, while venting on the voice coil helps hot air escape more quickly. Plus, the vented backplate forces cooler air past the hardest-working parts for even more reliability.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these subs to put into my car as a system, for when its cold outside and stuff. This is far from my first system. My primary system includes a 15 inch Orion HCCA sub being pushed by a 1500 rms watt amp, so I know what loud is!!! I was surprised at the amount of bass that these subs are able to produce. I'm only pushing 115 watts rms to each sub, I have 2, and they rattle all my mirrors and push out my windows. They really sound good after a couple of weeks of break in. At this price you can't beat them. That's in the price market of dual and alot of other cheap woofers. For anyone looking to get some decent thump at a great price, check these out.

good for the money

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

i use to install car stereo, i had a lot of of various subs to fosgate, kicker, alpine, sony, and yes orion XTr. this sub will deliver the necessarry sound you require if it is installed in the proper enclosure. Granted it is no JL w7, or hcca orion sub but for the money minded it is a good way to go. Ported is the way to go on this sub, it will give you boomier bass, and if you put it a 2 cubic foot box, ported it will hit the low notes and still give you a punchy rocky bass. dont put more than 200 watts to this sub it will BLOW, this sub is efficient on power, so lotts of power is not needed.
