Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car. Upgrade the factory sound system in your car with the CD1000 CD player from Eclipse. Not only does this stereo offer a sharp-looking, two-color LCD display to display system info, it also comes loaded with a powerful on-board amp for clear sound from all your recordings. You can tweak the sound to your liking with the six tone curves, using the bass and treble controls to create a custom mix. Fire up the loudness setting for fuller sound. Have a larger system in mind? No problem. The CD1000 offers two sets of preamp outputs for your external amps and subs. The CD1000 can play back discs loaded with MP3 and WMA files, so you can load up to 10 hours of your favorite digital music files onto a recordable CD and hit the road. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 nice head unit Written By stoogefan, Tracy, California. on Saturday, October 27, 2007 This is a great little unit with excellent sound quality. The amp in this unit is quite powerful and drives my two blaupunkt overdrive 6x9's with no problem. This unit looks good and is easy to use and not crammed with a lot of buttons, just pretty much straight forward. I can turn the volume way up with no distortion. This unit seems to be made very well. The only draw back is the tuner, with a FM sensitivity rating of 11.3 db it dose not pick up stations really great but is just OK. I am surprised that Eclipse dose not have a better FM sensitivity rating. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I ordered it on Monday (Memorial Day) and it was waiting for me when I came home on Thrusday, the installation took longer than I expected because Acura decided to make the stock headunits for Integras a pain to get out. I got it out with a hammer and a screwdriver but I could have easily done it the right way if I had a longer socket extension; but yea it was well worth the $160 spent and I'd recomend it to anyone looking for a good headunit. 6 out of 7 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? (the "vocal" preset not being helpful either)good basic unit but the shop will have to rewire and I will perhaps get a better model with that feature. bummer, I will have to take it back in, the shop didn''t wire it for the accessory key switch but when i pointed that omission out they offered to fix it. Will take more of my time at the shop though. 3 out of 8 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Unit looks great, knob and buttons feel solid. Excellent sound! With "Loudness" on, the Kenwoods gave excellent midbass and clear, powerful sound. 2 Preamp-outs a plus. Display clear and bright.Cons: no auto-dim feature (can dim manually); remote control extra.Very nice unit - great look, great sound; don't be afraid to buy this one. Excellent factory-replacement.
