Overview Details Customer Reviews Category Info Our take on the Eclipse iPC-709 by Zak Billmeier Why would I need an iPod® adapter? An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music. The Eclipse iPC-709 cable adds iPod control to select DVD receivers from Eclipse, JVC, and Clarion. Once connected, you can access many of the iPod's functions with the controls on the stereo. Album title, artist name, or track information show up on the display of the receiver, so you'll be able to find the music you want quickly. Plus, you can play videos you've stored on your iPod while you're parked. The adapter will even charge your iPod while it's connected. Warranty: 1 year. Compatibility Note: Be sure to check "Hands-on Research" for specific iPod model compatibility with this iPod adapter. The iPC-709 is compatible with various head units that offer iPod audio/video connection via USB, composite video, and stereo RCA. Give us a call (or identify your vehicle and car stereo) to see if it'll work in your system. Hands-on research from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?)
