Features

Marine Hinged Cover: The Boss MRC5 universal water-resistant radio cover protects your car stereo receiver in marine applications (or open off-road vehicles). The MRC5's hinged cover folds down to protect your aftermarket marine head unit and folds up to allow you to access your head unit's front-panel controls.

Single-DIN or Shaft-Style: The MRC5 marine kit allows you to install most single-DIN or shaft-style receivers. In order to install a single-DIN head unit, the two shaft-style inserts of the kit must be cut out.

Foam Gasket: The MRC marine radio cover includes a foam gasket to protect the receiver from water seeping in around the frame.

Stainless Steel Mounting Hardware: The MRC5 marine radio cover is mounted using the six included screws and speed-clips. All hardware is stainless-steel and rust proof.

Customer Q&A

Q
Will the BOSS MRC5 work in a 2015 Wrangler JK with a JVC KD-T920BTS CD receiver, without modifications?

A
Greetings Ruth, and thank you for your question. This is by design to cover a radio in a boat. We are not going to check fitment in any vehicles to see if it can work. As far is it working for the JVC KD-T920BTS, it will cover it. The outer dimensions of the Boss MRC5 are 9.125" (w) x 4.1875" (h) 1.9375" (d). If you can make that fit, thumbs up.

Q
So if I cut the correct size hole out, I just have to mount this and then this unit is what holds the radio in place?

Hi Jay, thank you for your question. The Boss marine stereo cover will install over your single din or shaft style marine receiver. Your receiver will still need to be mounted into the dash or mounting location by using mounting brackets to secure the stereo in place. The Boss marine cover does not offer a mounting solution for keeping your stereo in place in your vehicle or boat.

Yes the radio installs into the frame with the cover then install the cover with the radio and secure with the 6 screws.

Q
Do have bracket for handle bar mountings?

I can't remember it having that. It is a standard single din unit like for a vehicle, we have it in a pontoon boat. The unit didn't work with my micro Rockford and, too much distortion
