Add hands-free calling to your compatible JVC receiver. This handy JVC Bluetooth adapter lets you answer incoming calls and place outgoing calls with compatible phones — all without having to fumble around for your cell phone. You can also stream music from a phone with MP3 storage to your stereo.

To get started, plug the KS-BTA200 into your compatible JVC stereo, then mount the included microphone. Setup only takes a few minutes, and you'll be on your way to safer driving, talking with both hands on the wheel and keeping your eyes on the road. If your phone has voice recognition dialing, you'll even be able to dial your favorite numbers just by saying a name.

The KS-BTA200 includes a pass-through port that allows you to connect it to your JVC receiver while retaining your existing JVC iPod® adapter, satellite radio, or CD changer.

Note: Compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

Works great with my Blackberry Torch 9800. Call quality is good. Receiver can access my phonebook. Pandora radio can be streamed from my phone to the receiver. No complaints.

I have the Samsung Intercept (Android) and it pairs perfectly with this product allowing me to make calls or stream Howard with the Sirius XM app. Head unit is the KD-HDR40 Marie is the Crutchfield advisor who helped me through the purchase of this product, which turned out to be a great addition to my setup, thanks!

Works with my Droid 1 perfectly

Written by: Greg from Buford, GA on December 3, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works great with my Droid 1 and will let me use my JVC remote to change tracks and stop, play songs. It will let me go back and forward on tracks and phone sounds pretty good if mic is mounted high and away from noises like AC fans. It makes the transition automatically in to music and I can start and stop it in my car when getting in range since my music player is set to automatically start. I can leave in my pocket the whole time and listen to auto from internet or my mp3s. Very good sound quality compared to my AUX cable hookup with no cables!

BT Audio good... BT call quality bad

Written by: George from Honolulu, HI on May 16, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I decided to buy one because of the handsfree law here in Hawaii. I listen to a lot of podcasts during my drives on my Droid and was tired with the mess of cables. I figure this was a good option as it would be neat and integrated into my current audio system. This was VERY EASY to install. I successfully paired it with 2 phones. Things I like: * BT audio is great. No issues in audio quality and the audio controls (play, pause, etc) all work beautifully. No matter if I am playing MP3s, podcasts, Slacker, Pandora, etc... it works great on my Droid. * Being able to pair multiple devices * Audio mute on incoming calls * Hidden module -- eliminated cables Things I dont like: * Connections are not automatic (unless you leave it on BT phone or audio). Most times I am listening to FM for news and traffic. In order to connect, I have change to BT phone first then I can change to another selection. * Does not support multi-connections. I have 2 phones, 1 for work and 1 personal. I can only have one connected at a time. * BT phone call audio sucks pretty bad. I am still playing with the mic settings as that does seem to have an affect. I know that mic placement also can make a difference but I have truck and the mic is placed in a front of me with no interference from the a/c ducts, etc.

Sound Quality Rapidly Degraded

Written by: George from Rocky Hill, CT on October 23, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this for my wife's car, hand held cell phones are illegal to use while driving in CT. She didn't want a corded hands free and her first attempt at a wireless Bluetooth is now linked to my phone and resides in my summer car's console. I loved the features, the interface works great and it wasn't that hard to set up. The unit was crystal clear for the first two weeks of use both in the car and on my phone calling her. By the end of a month there was incredible amounts of humming. Eventually there was no hope in using this for conversation, too much distortion and background noise and barely a trace of her voice. She said the calls coming over the receiver echo badly. Just this week she asked me to pull the unit out of her car because she now shuts off her radio when her phone rings so that the receiver won't pick up the call. I bought this as a Christmas present last year, and I am thrilled to see a one year warrantee. I have a more than 25 years experience with Crutchfiled, I know I'll get help. Somehow I see the replacement Bluetooth in my winter car. We both have JVC receivers with HD audio. Hopefully I'll have better luck.

Works well butt

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit works well with my JVC KD-HDR50 in both of our cars. It works really well with her LG Voyager, but just ok with my Nextel i880. This has more to due with the phones than the unit. Only real draw backs have more to due with the JVC KD-HDR50 head unit. See my review there for details. I was lucky enough to have a local car audio shop that had this unit hooked up in a display to see if it would work with our phones before we purchased and installed.

Works great ... with compatible phones -- needs updated list!

Written by: Adam from Vienna, VA on March 3, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The BTA200 is working great for me ... now. I was originally using a Samsung Juke with it, and it didn't work very well ... the audio (mp3 player) connection worked great -- auto-connected each time. The BT phone function, however, almost never worked. Now, the Juke isn't on the list of compatible phones, so you can blame that one on me. I transferred my cell service over to one of my old phones -- an LG VX8300 -- and the BT phone function works perfectly. Note, however, that the VX8300 (nor any other LG phones, for that matter) is not on the list of compatible phones. JVC needs to update its list, so I know whether I can buy a different phone that will work! (My VX8300 is super-old and beat up). Other than that minor issue, it works great!

Great sound - requires practice to use

Written by: Scott from Long Island, NY on February 2, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The sound, both in and out, are great. Be aware that support for dialing, phone book, etc. varies depending on phone model. This means that the ability to use various phone functions, and the ease of using them through the head unit may vary alot. For example, my wife has the Samsung Juke SCH-U470 (from VZW) and I have a Blackberry 8830 (also from VZW). My BB works much better with this setup. Auto-connect works as advertised - the phone and deck auto connect as soon as in range and/or deck is powered on. I haven't been able to get the Juke to do the same. Overall, I'm happy (my wife not as much!) and will continue to learn/tweak to get most use out of the BTA-200.

What an amazing bluetooth. This little bluetooth adaptor is very easy to install and use. The reception is crystal clear. It is so much nicer than an over the ear bluetooth. Music stops automatically when a call comes in so you don't have to punch any buttons. With todays laws this bluetooth is the only way to go.

JVC KS-BTA200

Written by: Alan from Works great with Nokia 6133 on June 22, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am using this adapter with the JVC KD-AHD39 (also purchased from Crutchfield) and Nokia 6133 (t-Mobile). Every advertised function works fine. You can call from presets, phone book that transfers from the phone, voice dial, the works. Incoming and outgoing voice clarity is superb. The AHD39 does not display text messages, but I do get a text message alert and then the unit switches back to the previously selected source. One thing that could be a negative I have not fully examined yet. When I paired the Blue tooth phone source with the Nokia the unit automatically paired the Blue tooth audio source with the Nokia also. I haven't yet tried to pair another mp3 player as the blue tooth audio source to see if the phone will still stay connected. Overall totally satisfied with the adapter.

T-mobile dash pairing

Written by: nina from Miami, FL on June 19, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently installed a bluetooth device in my car: JVC KS-BTA200. My problem: it does not pair with T-mobile Dash. Now, the profile is supposed to support: HSP (Headset Profile) HFP (Hands-Free Profile) A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) SPP (Serial Port Profile) OPP (Object Push Profile) This should work with the Dash (aka HTC excalibur). HTC Customer Service told me that the ROM used by T-Mobile for the Dash does not support the above profiles, however if I were able to "convert" my Dash back into an Excalibur the phone would pair with my bluetooth device. I love my phone, but this bluetooth thing just makes it a bummer.

Easy to install but not very good when it comes to sound quality, caller hears echo on their end. Called tech support but they said this was normal, if I would have known this I would have never gotten it. Also callers say they have a hard time hearing me as well, tried repositioning the mike no luck.

Works Great with Treo 750

Written by: Jeff from Nashville, TN on June 12, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It took about 10 minutes to install. Works great with both audio and hands free profiles. When pairing with a Treo 750, don't set a code and leave blank on the Treo. Once I tried this, it paired perfectly. It did not work setting the code and entering it on the Treo. The Treo would lock up.

Great bluetooth adapter

Written by: Mitch from Atlanta, GA on January 22, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this bluetooth adapter in a 2003 VW Passat wagon with a new JVC head unit I got from Crutchfield too. I did the install work myself for both and placed the mic above the rear view mirror. It was easy to install, works great and I couldn't be happier. It even has a passthrough connection so I was also able to hook up my SIRIUS satellite tuner and can add a CD changer in the future if desired. Wife likes using it too & now wants bluetooth capability in her minvan as well. Will have to look at options for that. This was my first complete car stereo install with Crutchfield and they were great in helping me out with everything (bluetooth & JVC deck). Class A customer service.

Unit works as described. I leave my phone's bluetooth enabled continuously so I never need to fiddle with buttons when I get into my car. IMHO, the way people drive (or don't) today, bluetooth phone connectivity should be a Federal auto safety standard, just like seat belts.

I bought this unit to work with my jvc avx800 unit. I must say it works great. One downfall is that sometimes I can't recognize the peoples voices on the other and. I did have blue tooth in my car before and it worked slightly better. But this one is great also...

Great interface with AVX800 - but be aware!

Written by: Joe from Pittsburgh, PA on August 15, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This a great bluetooth adapter but you need to be careful with the functionality and with the features for each head unit.<BR><BR>Be aware if your going to hook up the Bluetooth adapter to check the phone compatiblity list. JVC's bluetooth adapter is version 1.2. If your using 1.1 phones like my old samsung was you will only see the phone number of an incoming call and loose most of the functionality touted with the head unit. I did purchase a phone that was not on the approved list, an LG Env VX9900. It is Bluetooth 1.2 and all the extened features worked just fine. So I'm assuming if you have a 1.2 Bluetooth phone features should work fine with this adapter.<BR><BR>Other than this little hidden fact, installation with my headunity and features are great.

I recently bought this for my JVC KD-AVX33 stereo. First off I must say, shipping was quick and product arrived in orginal JVC Box. Works great with the head unit. Infact this is my second JVC unit that I have purchased and both have been top of line, great products. If you want true handsfree capability this product is a must buy. And if you are getting it from Crutchfield, you have already made the right choice.
