Decent Speakers, yet..

Written by: Tom C from New York on April 10, 2014

Have had these in the dash of my 97 Wrangler for almost a year, They are much better than the stock speakers and the adapters crutchfield provides are perfect. A+ on their part. Although at highway speeds with the top down and the doors off these speakers are not heard at all. For me I need more power and volume. I'm giving 4 stars because sound quality is good on these speakers and i have the 5.25's for the DRVN line and they produce a lot of volume. (For any other Jeeper I suggest looking up the adapters to convert your dash speakers to 5.25's I went with NalinMFG)

Pros: Better than stock, Cool looks if you're using the guards.

Cons: Not loud enough for my Jeep.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First things first,i didnt expect a whole lot out of these.20 watts rms isnt much, enough for a head unit to run them, plus their only 4inch.I purchased them because an advisor here on crutchfield said he liked them. If your looking for a speaker to replace an existing unit thats popping or rattling and do it cheaply, this is an option(although there are cheaper) OTHERWISE.if you have subs and are looking for clarity in your mids and highs this is not your speaker, mids are very flatt and the highs are peircingly sharp!Ive had sony's explodes sound better than these. My advise? break down and spend the extra money for the good ones(focals or alpines) like i ened up doing anyway.if you got the extra room and can do some mods go to a 6 1/2 speaker(much clearer) and get them amped with good clean power(always go by rms and it doesnt hurt to have a little extra power in the amp than the speakers need)ON A GOOD NOTE. Crutchfield's customer support and all their directions for installation are top notch, better than a youtube viedo in most cases.

Pros: cheap,fit with no mods

Cons: low power threshold, distorted at high volumes, not for high power systems.

Features

Woofer: Mica is added to an aramid and carbon fiber composite olefin base, resulting in a rigid, light, and durable cone.

Tweeters: Each speaker features a 1" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced-dome tweeter; PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

4/2 Hole Compatibility: The speakers' mounting tabs can be removed, allowing installation in 4-hole or 2-hole applications.
