Whether you're suffering with a blown speaker or you just want hear a little more detail in your music, JVC's DRVN speakers have you covered. The CS-V628 6-1/2" speakers feature a durable woofer cone made from a mixture of Aramid, carbon fiber, and mica, along with a 1" balanced dome PEI tweeter that'll increase your music's clarity. These speakers will give you a solid boost in sound quality, even when powered by your factory radio. Grilles are included.
The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.
Great sound for price!
Pros: Simple installation
worked like charm easy to install, anyone could do it. sounds better than the originals, got them fast ,three days
Pros: easy installation fast shiping
Cons: holes on the mounting bracket take a figuring to get lined up, but just takes a min.
Stuck them in doors on 2004 Xterra so much better than factory paired with JVC 6x9s
Pros: Crutchfields install kits and instructions make installing any audio component easy
Ok for cheep speakers. I tried them for a week and changed out for Polk Spks and glad I did.
Cons: They do not handle the base my head unit wants to put out. Tend to pop a bet.
I just (10 minutes ago) replaced all 4 of the stock Alpine speakers and (disconnected) tweeters with these speakers in my 2006 Honda Pilot EXL w/Res and it sounds much better, especially when I run the mp3 player through them. You can buy a cable and run the mp3 through the RCA plugs that are located in the backseat for the DVD player/video games, etc. I did not have to cut the back out of the factory cup/mounting bracket for the speaker mounting, they all four fit perfectly. After the first door removal and speaker installation the other three were easy, took me about 1 1/2 hours but will go much faster not that I know what I am doing, between Crutchfields instructions and a youtube tutorial on my suv, it was a "piece of cake". Good luck, it is worth it!!!
Pros: Sound much better than stock at a good price.
Cons: Wish I had a lot more money to spend but this will do very well for now.
Add 50W to a pair and you'll be pleased. Great sound quality.
Very nice for the money
Cons: Mica not polypropylene
I bought them to replace some blown speakers in my Chevy Equinox front door and they don't have much bass but the clarity is good but I wanted more bass
Pros: Not blown
Cons: No bassCrutchfield response on April 15, 2015 That's a common reaction when replacing car speakers. What you can expect to hear from a new speaker is better clarity and definition in the mids and highs. So your music will sound better and more lifelike, but you might not hear more bass. The only way to get more bass is to add more power, and if you want to keep the factory radio, that means adding an amplifier. A small (40-50 watts), 4-channel amp can supply twice the power of an aftermarket stereo and three or four times the power of the typical factory radio. That'll improve all the sound, but you'll especially hear it in the fullness of the bass.
These speakers are a really good upgrade from my stock speakers in my Silverado. I am extremely satisfied with the ease of installation as well as the performance.
Pros: Ease of installation, midrange performance
I bought these to replace the Oem speakers which were shot. Fit perfect and took only a few minutes to mount with adapters an pigtails that were supplied by Crutchfield. Sound great too.
Pros: easy to install
These made a huge difference over the stock unit
Pros: Good price
The included mounting brackets and wire harness to tie into the existing factory system we a nice benefit. The included how to vehicle specific instructions was a nice touch. As for the speakers, they seem to be as good in sound quality as the factory GM speakers I replaced so that was good. A quality speaker for a decent price.
Pros: The instructions made it easy to do, I installed 4 speakers, which included the removing and replacement of 4 door panels in about 1 hours time.
Cons: At the moment, none.
I bought the 6x9s that go with these as well and together they make a great upgrade from factory.
I bought these to replace my factory speakers in my Saturn Vue and I was very disappointed!
Pros: Low cost
Cons: Poor sound
Great price, quality & sound!
For $50 you can't ask for a better pair of speakers. I replaced the front speakers in my 2007 cobalt which had gone out. With the installation parts crutchfield provides, it took me about 45 minutes. I've had these for a good month now, and they sound great, the highs are really crisp over my subwoofer, and they can provide the mids just as well. I haven't tested the lows as I have a subwoofer so I have a high pass filter on my cab speakers.
Pros: Easy install, great sound
Cons: Connecter pins are a bit flimsy
These speakers fit perfectly and we're very easy to install. They sound great.
Pros: Easy to install. All parts included in the box and I had them with in 2 days of ordering them.
These speakers sound great in my 2500hd they were easy to install with the provided hardware that came with would definitely recommend them.
1993 Honda Civic Del Sol - replaced all 4 factory speakers. My son and I replaced all 4 speakers in about 30 minutes. Bass is excellent for the size, they sound great.
Pros: Simple to install - didn't even need the wiring harnesses. The instructions that Crutchfield emailed to me were exactly right for my specific car. Excellent product for an exceptional price.
I couldn't be happier with these speakers. I treated myself to 4 of them for my '95 Tahoe (yes, they will fit in the rear doors too), and they sound fantastic. Strong & solid base, crisp mid-range and highs. They would have been a bargain at regular price, but at the sale price with a new JVC receiver, they are an absolute steal. I know there are more expensive brands out there, but I don't think you can find much better for the price in this range. And if you haven't decided where to buy your gear, even if it isn't these, don't look anywhere else but here. The folks at Crutchfield are awesome. Rhonda was a great sales advisor, and after I realized the 6.5' would fit in the rear doors, she helped me swap the 5.25's I bought for them for another pair of 6.5's. All this plus free mounting hardware and wiring harnesses makes it a can't miss buy.
Pros: Great value for the price; Cool looking speaker grill (though I couldn't use them in my vehicle); Really awesome sound, and more than enough base unless you just want to vibrate your vehicle apart.
Cons: None...I highly recommend them.
I am very pleased with the speakers. They are a vast improvement over the stock speakers.
Pros: An easy install. Great sound.
the sound is so much better then factory speakers
Pros: nice sound
Bought as part of a new stereo system for my 2006 Grand Prix. Fit as advertised, easy installation. Added 6x9 Kenwood 4-way speakers in the back along with a JVC deck, can't be more pleased in the sound quality in my car. Great definition - sounds better as you add volume - and love the overall sound in my car. Very pleased with the performance of a lower priced speaker.
Great deal at half off with deck.
Cons: Dont think it will be enough power handling with amp
Great improvement over the stock speakers in my son's 99 Jeep Cherokee
Pros: good sound, inexpensive
These are great speakers for replacing manufacture speakers. These went into my daughters car.
Pros: Ease of repalcement
I installed these without issue thanks to all Crutchfield's free supplied extras. The speakers sound OK for the money. I'm just running it off a Sony Media player with low wattage. They do the job in my single cab full size truck.
Pros: Fair price and easy install.
Cons: Poor base response.
Great speaker for the price. Sounds great!!
Pros: Good speaker. Sounds good.
Good sounding speaker
Pros: Perfect fit, good sound
Great speakers for the price. Definitely better than the factory junk.
Pros: Great sound, well constructed, and priced right.
they sound pretty good but i was expecting more i guess
Speakers sound great matched up w/ a JVC head unit and crossed over. Mids and highs sound great; can't comment on bass response as all mine comes out of the sub. Fit was not exact; even w/ the bracket. You play the game of matching it as best as you can, then drilling another hole in the door and carefully routing the wire - after soldering on the new leads. Still not a difficult installation overall, and the sound is great. Crutchfield's master sheet made the door panel removal a breeze.
Pros: Price, sound, mids and highs
Cons: Fitment not exact, even w/ included bracket for Nissan Xterra rear speakers.
not bad for cheap speakers.
Pros: looks nice
Cons: won't handle a lot of power
Sound great for price!
Great set of speakers. I drive a late 80's Land Cruiser and trusted Crutchfield's expertise that these would indeed fit my car with zero modification required. They did indeed. Installation was extremely easy, and this was my first time doing any sort of speaker installation. A great upgrade for my blown stock speakers.
Pros: Easy installation (zero modification required), Great Sound.
Not a real replacement for a minivan. Go up to 6x9 if you want replacement speakers.
Pros: Price. Install kit made it easy to put in. Highs were pretty decent.
Cons: Limited Bass/mid range. Too small to fill a minivan with decent sound. Even my 9 year old wanted to know why the music sounded "funny."
Well made and sound good. I didn't match them with the front door speakers so I do have to fade to the front or risk going beyond these speakers capacity. But that was my fault. Nice upgrade over the factory speakers.
Pros: Direct fit. Huge improvement over the OEM speakers.
Cons: Wish the RMS was higher.
My wife's 2007 PT Cruiser started out with a good sounding stereo system, but over the years, musicals like "Oklahoma" started buzzing on the crescendos. I turned to Crutchfield for a solution, and have since replaced the original four speakers with a set of these JVC speakers. The sound is now better than ever, and the price for the two kits was a good bargain.
Pros: Price, Sound quality, fit.
They work awesome. They came with everything I needed to install. I will be ordering through you guys again.
Pros: Everything couldn't ask for more.
Ordered these as replacements for factory speakers in 2005 Chevy 2500HD PU. Far superior than original speakers, good bass, much brighter. Easy installation with good instructions and accessories supplied by Crutchfield.
Pros: Sound and ease of installation.
Cons: Some might want more bass......not me.
Easy installation with all necessary parts from Crutchfield. Much better than old factory speaker. Would highly recommend.
Pros: Sound, ease of installation
Definitely pleased with these speakers, rock solid sound, deep rumbling bass, crisp clear highs. Worth every penny and then some. Perfect fit. Truly the way to go if you are on a tight budget and still want awesome sound.
Pros: Perfect fit, no distortion at high volume levels, fits in factory locations with no modifications and can use factory grille to maintain stealth.
Cons: There is none.
Great speakers at a good price
Pros: Arrived on time, quality speakers, perfect fit and sound great. I replaced both the front door speakers in my 98 Honda Civic in less than 5 minutes.
These speakers are definitely worth the price. Installation instructions and hardware was included.
Pros: Good sound. Good price.
Cons: The short speaker wire / connectors included were very thin
Nice sound good price
I should have spent a little more money - if you are looking for 'base' these aren't for you
Pros: Easy install, price
Cons: lack of base - stock speakers in Camry sounded better
I replace my old door speakers in my 2005 GMC Serria with JVC CS-V628 speakers when I also replaced my radio. They match up great with the JVC KW-R500 CD reciever.
Pros: NIce sound and easy to install with the new mounts that I recieved with them.
Love the sound quality
Pros: Great price for what I received
Good for the price. They were very muddy in the rear doors of my Jetta, so I moved them to the front doors and they sound OK there. May work fine for other vehicles.
Pros: Fairly balanced sound for a cheapy. Happy that it had the hybrid fabric surround. Handles enough power for the factory head unit. Two-way with coaxial tweeter is not the smoothest, but its nearly as good as the factory speakers before they blew out.
Cons: Shipped with wimpy adapters and 'harness' connector that did not power the satellite tweeter. If you do not need those componenets, these are perfectly good inexpensive speakers.
Got these for half price and they were a steal ! Great sound for what I needed.
Pros: Nice sound at a cheap price
nice upgrade from the factory speakers
Good speakers, well-made, and easily installed. They sound good with the JVC receiver I purchased, they do what they're supposed to do.
Pros: Simple install, good price
They are ok. I just had greater exceptions. If I take them for what they are, they are Great.
Pros: Clean highs and mids
Cons: No lows. Clips very easily.
Sound way better than 14yr old factory. Nice price, clean sound.
Pros: Nice speakers for the money. Adapters and cables made it easy to install
Blew the speakers in my Yukon and needed something as inexpensive as possible ... And I got a whole lot more from these speakers
Pros: Large magnet... And clear highs with decent lows
Easy install and they look and sound fantastic.
Pros: Sound quality
Cons: None from me
Good sound for a good price. I don't have the head unit or car to really test these in the best way, but they sound great to me.
Pros: Price, punch
If you are replacing blown speakers and do not want to spend much these will be OK. They add the bass back into door speakers and will probably last. The midrange is weak and the tweeter is one of those chromed poly domes with chrome plastic flash. You will never see the tacky chrome unless you surface mount and the performance of the tweeter is not so good. I put them in the rear doors of an old Jeep Grand Cherokee and they are fine, especially compared to the original speakers which had no foam supporting the cones.
Pros: Tuff, and good bass at a value price
Cons: Midrange and high frequencies weak.
Good speakers & great price
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: There were none
Great front speakers for what I was looking for. 2001 Jetta. I installed MTX TDX52 in the Back and these JVC's in the front. Good balance of Bass and treble. The JVC units do not provide much bass but that was what I was looking for. I didnt want my teenage daughter driving around with the ridiculous BASS Thumping. I paired these with the JVC KW R500. She is happy and I am happy with the sound and the price !
Cons: lack of Bass if that is what you are looking for
My son loves them, He thinks they are transformers. Good sound
I gotta say I love these speakers. I installed them in my 2000 civic sedan front sides and they are very crisp. Not raspy to the point where my ears feel like they are gonna bleed which is good. They don't have any bass at all though which I figured based on the material they are made out of, but I was not expecting bass, I wanted something crisp and clear that will compliment the sound of my sub.
Pros: Very clear crisp
Cons: not really an issue for me but these speakers have no bass so if you want some bassy speakers don't get these i suppose.
Great sounding speakers. Easy install. Everything was as advertised.
Pros: Price and quality.

Woofer: Mica is added to an aramid and carbon fiber composite olefin base, resulting in a rigid, light, and durable cone.
Tweeters: Each speaker features a 1" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced-dome tweeter; PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.
Woofer Mounting: In addition to fitting standard 6-1/2 and 4-hole 6-1/2 applications, the speaker also has a standard 6-3/4 bolt pattern. However, if mounted in a 6-3/4 location the holes for the smaller pattern create an air leak, which must be sealed using a speaker baffle, or something similar.
