The sound quality of these speakers is great. You can turn up the volume pretty high without distortion but I also set my high pass filter to 120hz because I want the majority of bass to come from my subs. These speakers were fairly easy to install. Only four bolts.

Pros: Good sound quality

Cons: Not very good bass but doesn't matter if you have subs

Great Speakers for the Price

mdwelch from Louisiana on 7/2/2015

I installed these in my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 along with a JVC head unit and I have to say I was pretty impressed. The install was very simple, no mods for fit, Of course it took a little time to get them broke in to get the best sound from them but after that they were great. Plenty of mids, highs and bass when pushed with the JVC head unit. I'm looking into adding an amp to the speakers just to clarify the sound a little more but if you are looking for a good speaker for a good price you should look into these.

Pros: Great all around speakers.

Cons: none

2001 Mazda Protege
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very good speakers for the money. Vast improvement over factory installed speakers. Installation was very easy on '01 Mazda Protege. Good, crisp, clear sound across all ranges. Jazz sounds great, classical sounds much fuller and richer.

Pros: Great value, easy installation, great sound

Cons: Styrofoam packing material - should be cardboard or some other biodegradable product.

Crutchfield response on April 28, 2015 Environmental concerns are always on our mind at Crutchfield. The packing peanuts we use are 100% biodegradable! Drop one in a bowl of water and watch it dissolve. They're made up primarily of corn starch, and we make them in our warehouse in big batches, as needed. It's a process we invested in years ago to help protect the environment. Currently, we're exploring ways to make our shipping boxes smaller so that we can better fit shipments of any size, but especially small orders like this.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just like the Kicker's I put in the rear of my Chrysler 300, these JVC speakers are a great improvement over stock. But, just like the Kicker's, I had to drill out one of the four holes on each side. I was hoping they would bolt right in. Definitely improved the sound across the entire spectrum.

Pros: Great improvement over the stock speakers.

Cons: Had to drill one of the four holes to install. This is the only reason i gave them a 4 instead of a 5.

2002 Honda Accord
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are phenomenal I upgraded from my stock 6x9's and the difference is night and day. I don't really use these for bass but it does has tight bass response for the mid bass that I do use it for. The vocals and high frequencies are piercing loud they sound absolutely amazing in fact i'm going to replace Sony XS-GT1638F 6 1/2 3 way speakers I put in my front doors because these JVC's drown them out all while receiving the same power 20w rms from my JVC HDR40. To get the most out of these speakers you will want a head unit with 7 band eq or more or a amp on them but you will like them and for the price you can't beat them.

Pros: Clarity, Easy to install, Price, Overall Sound Quality

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Description Stated they would fit however only 3 of the four screw holes lined up and the magnet did not clear the cross member trunk rods so I had to modify (bend them). Sound is avg to slightly better avg than expected however the install issues cause me to drop the overall rating a notch. For the price they are a good upgrade over stock though. As an FYI the Head unit is an aftermarket Sony. Very pleased with Crutchfields phone support.

Pros: Good upgrade to stock, pricepoint is good.

Cons: Did not fit as advertised. Slight loss of clarity and distortion at higher volumes (But for the price not bad).

I installed 2 of these to replace my 2007 Chevy Cobalt's original speakers and they sound much better. There is almost no distortion at higher volumes. The speakers these replaced looked like they were made of cardboard so of course these will sound much better.
