Features
MOS-FET Amplifier: The JVC CD player features a CEA-2006
compliant MOS-FET 20 Watts RMX x 4-channel amplifier in 4ohms at 1% THD+N with
an 80 dBA signal-to-noise-ratio.
DiAS Tuner: This model is equipped with JVC's Digital Intelligent Advanced Sensing tuner, offering unprecedented analog radio
performance with higher sensitivity and selectivity. You can set up to 18 FM and
6 AM stations as presets. Presets can be set manually, or automatically using
Strong-station Sequential Memory (SSM). If an FM stereo broadcast is hard to
receive, you can manually switch the tuner to "Mono" operation. You can also
switch the tuner's IF filter to Wide or Auto to increase/decrease the
sensitivity.
Built-in HD Radio: With the
built-in HD Radio tuner, you can receive digital AM/FM broadcasts from local
stations where available. This new technology will significantly improve audio
quality and reception, as well as include information such as artist name and
song titles or traffic news, viewable on the receiver's display. HD Radio
Technology will deliver high-quality digital sound. AM digital will have FM-like
quality in stereo, while FM digital will have CD-like quality with static free
and clear reception. In addition, AM/FM digital stations can offer text and data
such as artist names and song titles. Many HD Radio stations also offer more
than one channel of programming. This service is called multicasting. You can
setup the KD-AHD39 to search only HD Radio stations. To find HD Radio stations
in your area, visit www.hdradio.com.
MP3/WMA Playback: The KD-AHD39 can play MP3/WMA files that
have been recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The disc must be recorded in one of
the following formats: ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, or Romeo. You can
directly access folders numbered 01-12 (they must be assigned two-digit numbers
when recorded). Each disc can have a maximum of 8 folder hierarchies, 255
folders, and no more than a total of 512 files on each disc. The unit also
supports IDTag3 (version 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3 or 2.4) for album and artist
information from MP3 or WMA files.
Direct Track Access: You can directly access CD tracks 1-12
by pressing the station preset buttons. If a preset button is pressed for less
than 1 second, the track corresponding to the number on the preset button is
selected (for tracks 1-6). When a preset button is pressed for more than 1
second, the track corresponding to the number above the preset button is
accessed (for tracks 7-12).
Preferred Setting Mode: By activating the Preferred Setting
Mode (PSM), you can set the clock, choose the time zone and daylight saving
time, select the dimmer mode, select the external component type (changer or
line input), turn on/off ID3 Tag display, set the Amplifier Gain control (high/low), and several
other operational settings.
Intelligent EQ (7-Band iEQ): This model has Rock, Classic, Pops, Hip Hop, Jazz, and
User preset EQ curves. The User preset can be adjusted to your preference and
stored in memory. For the User preset, you can independently adjust the
following frequencies: 60 Hz, 150 Hz, 400 Hz, 1 kHz, 2.4 kHz, 6 kHz, and 15 kHz.
The level of each frequency can be adjusted from -5dB to +5dB in 1dB increments.
SRS CS Automotive: SRS Circle Surround Automotive (CS Auto) lets you
experience a natural sound field anywhere in the vehicle, unlike other sound
field manipulation methods such as time delay. The SRS Circle Surround II
decoder converts a stereo signal into multichannel sound. SRS Focus elevates the
sound field to an optimal listening level, while SRS TruBass creates rich bass,
even without using a subwoofer. SRS Focus can be applied independently to front
and rear speakers. SRS TruBass can be applied independently to front and rear
speakers and the subwoofer. You can choose from the following presets:
- Type A: systems with large front speakers with tweeters and rear
deck speakers
- Type B: systems with large front speakers with tweeters and
door-mounted rear speakers
- Type C: systems with small front speakers and door-mounted rear
speakers
- User: allows you to store your own setting
Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-AHD39 with factory speakers (or those rated to less
than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power
being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the
volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers
rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and
the volume control will range from 0 to 50.
Subwoofer Output: In addition to the
5V front and rear gold-plated preamp outputs, this unit has a set of 5V
gold-plated subwoofer preamp outputs.
The subwoofer output has independent level control, adjustable from 00 to 08,
and a selectable low-pass crossover. You can select a cutoff frequency of 90,
135, or 180Hz.
Front Panel Auxiliary Input: A front panel stereo minijack
is provided to allow the connection of a portable audio source. Just connect
your portable cassette, MD or MP3 player to this unit, and you can listen to the
audio from the portable player through the speakers in your mobile audio system.
The input level of the auxiliary input can be adjusted from 0 to 5.
Optional Input Adapter: An optional JVC Line Input Adapter
(item number 105KSU57 or 257KSU58) may be used to provide an additional
auxiliary audio only input on this unit. This feature allows you to connect a
portable audio player, such as a portable MP3 player, to this unit as an
additional audio source. The adapter connects to the CD changer input on this
unit. When the adapter is connected to this unit, a CD changer cannot be
connected.
Disc Protection: If the ejected disc is not removed within
15 seconds, the disc is automatically inserted again into the loading slot to
protect it from dust; playback starts automatically.
Disc Resume: If you change the source, playback also stops
(without ejecting the disc). Next time you select CD for the playback source,
the disc will start from where it has been stopped previously.
Dimmer: When 12 volts is applied to the illumination lead
and the dimmer set to Auto, the display dims. The dimmer can also be set to Off
(normal brightness at all times) or On (display is always dimmed).
Clock Display: While playing a CD, you can switch between
the clock display and the CD elapsed time display (the track number always
appears). While listening to the radio you can switch between the clock display
and the station frequency display. When you press the Display button during
power off, the unit will turn on, display the clock for 5 seconds, then shut
off. This can be done with the ignition on or off. In the PSM menu, the clock
can be set to display with the unit on or off, only turning off when the
ignition is turned off ("keyed" operation).
Wireless Remote Control: The KD-AHD39 comes supplied with a
wireless remote control (RM-RK50). The remote contains Power, Attenuator, Sound,
Source, Tracking and Volume functions.
Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The KD-AHD39 has a "OE Remote"
lead on the back panel. When used with the optional PAC SWI-JACK interface (item
number 127SWIJACK), you can retain the use of your steering wheel and/or rear seat
radio controls when replacing the factory head unit in select vehicles. The SWI-JACK
