Great unit, Great price

The install was so easy. The JVC harness matched the supplied Volvo harness color for color. The whole install took less than 1 hour.
The tuner is easy to use. If HD is availabile it tunes it in automatically. The controls are a bit confusing. If you forget to press menu before going to a preset then press and hold the control knob the auto search kicks in wiping out your presets.
The JVC hasexcellent sound, an aux input, and rear amp/sub amp outputs which both are both adjustable via the menu.
I would highly recommend this unit.

Awesome radio for the price. I don't get alot of hd radio where I live but the stations that are in HD sound great! Instalation was way easier then I thought, thanks to the guide and having everything I needed included. You can not beat this deal! Would have liked preset station buttons on the unit, but besides that it gets great reception and nice sound. Highly recommend for anyone thinking about HD or just needs a good radio.

As always, you guys are the best. The detailed installation instructions had all the answers for a fast and easy install. This is a very good basic unit, I found many HD stations in my area ( I'm in the sticks), controls are simple, sound is far better than the factory radio. Thanks again.

Sound quality is good, but HD is nowhere near as good as I had been led to believe. I got the radio because I was going on a long trip. Research had told me that hd was unreliable outside of urban areas, but hey, I live in New York City. The rep told me I would not need a new antenna, but I do not get good reception. If the hd in this unit is a plus for you, consider also getting a more powerful antenna.

This radio is an excellent value for the money. It has great reception for both AM and FM (8.3 dBf FM sensitivity). The HD radio works well, and the CD player is high quality (it successfully read CD-R's, displayed the CD text track titles, and handled scratched discs easily with minimal skipping). The remote is small and looks cheap, but that's actually a benefit; the simplicity of the remote makes it much easier to use while driving. The remote controls almost all of the functions of the radio (even EQ setting). The radio scans between stations very quickly when using manual tuning.
The only downside to this radio is the lack of preset buttons on the front. However, this is mitigated by the fact that the remote allows you to iterate through your presets. Even though you have to go through menus to set the presets, the user interface for this radio is cleanly designed and easy to use, so it's really not an issue. This is the second radio I've bought from Crutchfield; in both transactions, the Crutchfield technical support was awesome, and the item shipped very quickly. I highly recommend both Crutchfield and this product.
