JVC's KS-U61 cable connects your Android phone to the HDMI input on compatible JVC KW-V30BT and KW-V50BT receivers. The HDMI connector on this 6.5-foot cable plugs into the rear input on your JVC receiver, while the 5-pin connector plugs into your Android. The HDMI connection allows the JVC receiver to display your smartphone's apps. Warranty: 1 year.
Compatibility note: Be sure to check "Details" for compatible Android models.
The adapter itself works fine but beware that the Samsung Galaxy S6 does not support MHL anymore so no screen mirroring.
For the price it could have come with the adapter that goes with the Samsung note 3. But it does work well.
Pros: Good quality, seem as it wont break easily.
Cons: A tad bit expensive to have to buy an extra part for just to make it work.
I am using an aftermarket cable because this one was out of stock. The problem is the screen must remain on in order to work without rooting your phone. Because of this you must have a way to charge your phone in order to get good use out of it. The aftermarket cable works well enough to charge the phone so it only loses 1% every few minutes with the screen set to be as dim as possible. When I got this cable I thought my problems would be over and this cable would be able to charge better. Well to my dismay, I took apart my dash and installed this cable but I was smart enough to test it, It would not charge so it renders it useless for what I need. Glad it came free with the head unit, sad I wasted my free gift on choice on it.
Cons: does not charge Galaxy S5 as it displays.
Cable works but JVC could have added the 5 to 11 pin adapter for samsung galaxy phone
Pros: Proper cable
Cons: Should have proper adapter for select smartphones
This cable might work great but does not work with the Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. Had to buy an aftermarket cable which worked fine.
Cons: Does not work with Samsung Galaxy S5.
Great cable and is enough length to run where you want
Works as it should. No issues.
Pros: Works as it should and is not a short cable
Cons: none as long as you have the adapter for your android device.
Had to get this cable in order to make my GS5 work with the JVC receiver I bought...but it did not. I had to buy an adapter to attach between the cable and the phone.
Not a good cable, 2 of em, and they both seem to have broken connections inside them.
Cable works great, had to get the 11 pin to 5 pin adapter for my note 3.
The salesman sent me this cable because the orginal salesman that sold me the car radio said it would hook up to my Sirius satellite radio with out using my phone . I still cannot use Sirius because there is no hdmi connector on the unit . I have stuck 600 into a radio that does everything that my last one did. Salesmen should take a class on what they're selling!!
Cons: Didn't work with stereoCrutchfield response on October 20, 2014 Our Tech Support team reached out to the customer to try and help with the situation. We're sorry for any misunderstanding on the part of our Advisors.
The HDMI to MicroUSB cable is perfect.. just keep in mind, that if you are a Samsung phone, you'll need an extra adapter from Samsung. For some reason they use a different pin layout.
Pros: perfect length, and nice high quality.
Cons: Samsung needs an extra adapter (not the cable's fault)
Works as advertised, made good, cable seems to very durable....got it to use with the KW-V50BT radio and Samsung Galaxy 4S....
Pros: Works as advertised
Cons: cant think of any
Does not work as advertised.
Cons: EverythingCrutchfield response on May 27, 2014 This is likely an issue with phone compatibility. In particular, certain models of Galaxy phones (the S3, S4, and Note II) require a 5-pin to 11-pin adapter (as stated on our website). Our tech support team is following up with the customer.
microUSB-to-HDMI MHL Cable: The JVC KS-U61 is microUSB-to-HDMI MHL cable for use with the JVC's KW-V30BT and KW-V50BT multimedia receivers that feature an HDMI input. The KS-U61 allows MHL-enabled Android phones to connect via microUSB and show apps on the screen of the compatible JVC receiver.
JVC Head Unit Compatibility: The JVC KS-U61 works with JVC's KW-V50BT and KW-V30BT multimedia receivers which feature a rear-panel HDMI input.
Connectors: The JVC KS-U61 cable features a microUSB connector on one end that plugs into your MHL-enabled Android phone and a HDMI connector on the other end that plugs into the rear-panel HDMI input of your compatible JVC multimedia receiver.
Note: The Samsung Galaxy S3/S4 and Galaxy Note II require an additional 3rd party MHL microUSB 5-pin to 11-pin adapter (sold separately).

Connects and charges my phone from radio. Did have to order extra part from Samsung to make phone display on screen. [ JEREMY Dec 31, 2015 ]
I bought the hdmi cable to use screen mirroring for my note 4. It works but is very clunky and not easy to use while driving unfortunately. The setup must be followed exactly to work. It took me about 3 days to get it to work right. [ Robert Nov 12, 2015 ]
I know it will charge phone not sure about the apps. If I recall you download an app and it runs through that. My son has a galaxy but does not use the app for his phone. [ MICHAEL Mar 30, 2015 ]
Absolutely not. It completely failed on mine. Apparently there is a Samsung specific adapter required that no one tells you about. [ MICHAEL Mar 30, 2015 ]
Yes it will work with the Note 3 and 4. [ Jerome Mar 30, 2015 ]
