Bluetooth®, a big touchscreen, and a solid 2-year warranty
Looking for hands-free calling, apps, and Pandora® Internet Radio in your dash? Pair the JVC Arsenal KW-ADV64BT DVD receiver and a compatible phone, and find out just how great Bluetooth is — you can even get a heads up when someone sends you a text message. Plus, you can stream music from your phone or other Bluetooth device, including the audio from your favorite apps. And you're covered by the JVC Arsenal 2-year warranty.
Pandora in your dash
JVC makes it easy for you to take your Pandora stations on the road. Just plug your iPhone® into the KW-ADV64BT's rear USB input and you'll have touchscreen control over Pandora right in your dash. Plus you'll see artist and song info on the big display.
Basic app control for iPhone users
With your iPhone connected, you can view many popular apps on the KW-ADV64BT's screen. You'll get basic control over audio apps like Mog and Tunein — basic functions like play/pause or track up/down. You can also view the info from Inrix traffic and other useful driving apps.
Powerful GPS app for iPhone
You can use your iPhone to put the most up-to-date maps available in your dash. Once you download the MotionX-GPS Drive app and connect your iPhone with JVC's KS-U30 cable (not included), you'll be able to see maps and live traffic reports on the KW-ADV64BT's screen. You'll still need to access your iPhone, however, so it's a good idea to turn over control to a passenger, or consider adding an iPhone mount.
Unlike factory navigation systems, points of interest (POIs) are integrated with Wikipedia and Facebook, giving you more accurate search results than with preloaded navigation. Throw in live traffic and live map updates, and you'll have the most accurate navigation system on the planet. At 99 cents for the app, plus $19.99 for a year's subscription for voice guidance and live traffic, it's a fantastic value, too.
Great for your digital music
When you plug your iPod or iPhone into the USB input, you'll tap your way through all your tunes and playlists with this JVC's responsive touchscreen. If you're not an iPod user, you can load up a USB drive or a recordable disc with digital files — it's easy to fit hundreds of tracks on either one, and you can still dive in using the touchscreen.
— over 15 million songs, available instantly
MOG is an award-winning online music service with one of the largest and best-sounding streaming catalogs in the industry. It's the only service to offer all of its music in the 320 kbps MP3 format — that higher bit rate translates to better sound. In fact, we use it frequently in the Crutchfield Labs to test high-end audio gear. MOG's "Primo" service ($9.99/month) gives you unlimited, ad-free access to their extensive music library of over 15 million songs on a wide range of devices including Sonos® and Logitech® Squeezebox network music players, Samsung TVs, your computer, iPad®, iPhone®, and Android devices. Just pair your iPhone to this JVC receiver, and you can control the music and view artist/song info on the JVC's screen.

2011 Chevrolet Suburban
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Ease of Use
Overall Very Pleased with this deck once I finally got it installed. Installed in a 2011 Suburban. Had to make a minor modification to the body behind the deck for it to fit. GMOS-100 adapter works perfectly and was pretty straightforward. Had to call tech support a couple times but they got everything resolved and working good for me. Rear DVD screen works and transferred factory XM to the SiriusXM no problem to be able to control through the deck rather than the driver information center. ipod/iphone adaptor works great and the overall way the deck works is amazing. I did alot of research between Kenwood and Pioneer and JVC and very glad I went the JVC Arsenal.
Pros: Ipod/Iphone control with apps like pandora and mog and motion x gps
JVC Arsenal KW-ADV64BT review
Ease of Use
Recently sold the Pioneer stereo I had in my 2008 F250. Hated that stereo. GPS sucked, touchscreen sucked, sound was just ok. Sold it and bought this JVC unit and installed myself. Pretty easy and straightforward, just like for like colors and done. This stereo is awesome. Touch screen is nice and responsive, my sub sounds way better, I still need need to upgrade the door speakers and an amp. The usability is very easy and has some great features. This is my fifth DVD deck and by far the best I've had and would buy another one if anything happened to it. Haven't used the bluetooth calling yet. Only complaint about the bluetooth music so far is that it isn't displaying my song info. There are a few features I wish it had. Main thing is more Android support than Apple. So lame. HD radio would be nice but not a deal breaker obviously. cool feature is you can swipe the screen in a circular motion to adjust volume.
Pros: Sound is way better than my last Pioneer, display and layout are great, easy to navigate, good touch screen
Cons: Needs better onscreen programs for android phones, sick of Apple.
Happy so far

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Ease of Use
I installed this unit myself with Polk speakers also. Pretty easy in an '08 Tacoma. The USB port cable goes into my glove box easily, but I can see where that might not work for some cars. The sound is good, but I only can compare to the stock radio and stock speakers..Almost anything would sound better, but I'm happy. Added 2 amps that I had from my previous truck. I am disappointed the EQ has only 3 bands. The bluetooth is flakey. I sometimes have to turn it off/on on my phone (android). When it does link to the phone, I can play music, although the sound quality isn't best. Better just to copy to my USB thumbdrive. The hands-free phone works good, but like I said, if you don't check if you're phone is bluetooth connected, then you're not hands free. I tried to import my contacts from my phone, but is seems it only like contacts that have phone # only. If there's an email address, which is most, it won't import. I like the screen navigation, easy to learn. Haven't tried to put custom backgrounds yet but it is supposed to be able to. The screen is easy to turn off by holding a button down for a couple of seconds. It's pretty bright at night, even with the brightness on low. Remote works good. I actually use it while driving to skip songs on the USB drive so I don't have to look at the screen, find the >>, etc... Volume knob is also nice to have. DVDs play well. Might add a rear camera one day and maybe a subwoofer.
Pros: Looks good, detachable face. Sounds good.
Cons: 3 band EQ. Bluetooth flakey. No HD radio.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Ease of Use
I recently wanted to upgrade my radio because of upgrades needed to speakers. When I installed the new JVC head unit, it was like night and day in the sounds quality without even changing my speakers!
Pros: lots of upgrade such as back up camera and XM Radio, it was also very easy to install and the radio itself is simple to understand.
Cons: i wish the usb port was on the deck instead of rear mount.....but it's not that big of an issue.
JVC Aresenal 64BT Review
2009 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Ease of Use
I have to say I am very happy with my choice in this JVC. I spent a lot of time researching the in dash DVD receivers and it finally came down to this and the Pioneer AVH-P3400BH. I was leaning toward the Pioneer given all the great reviews, but decided to give this JVC a chance. What I gained was better screen resolution, a bigger touch screen, more RMS power, a rear input USB, a detachable face, 2 yr warranty and 4V preamp outputs. What I gave up was the HD radio and 8 band EQ. Either choice would be a great improvement over stock.
Overall, the JVC was easy to install in my 09 Nissan Frontier and the metra kit included looks and fits well. I have had this installed for roughly a week and hear no squeaks or rattles of any kind. The only downside was that Crutchfield tech support could not help me get to my parking brake wire in the truck as they didn't have it on file; however, I was able to figure it out after some research (I was not interested in doing a bypass).
The sound quality is great and it makes a bigger improvement in sound than I thought it would even with the stock speakers (will upgrade later). The menus are intuitive and easy to read. The speed of the interface is very good, and I really do like the ability to customize the background to fit my orange lit Nissan...it really looks good! Also, while I don't have an iphone, the pandora and mp3 from my galaxy nexus stream perfectly well. Overall, I'm very happy with my choice
Pros: 6.1 inch detachable 800x480 screen, rear USB, customizable, actual volume knob, easy and quick interface, 4V preamp outs, build quality seems outstanding...very solid unit, streams android
Cons: No HD radio, lack of customer reviews, blue tooth for phone works, but not great, crutchfield couldn't help with parking brake wiring, very much made for iphone/ipod users (many more functions than for android)

Ease of Use
I cannot speak enough good words about how awesome this radio is. It works seamlessly with our iPhones. It plays DVDs with great picture quality as well as automatically switching to Dolby Pro-Logic surround mode.
Aside from the fact that you have to purchase the optional iPod cable from JVC to enjoy all the possible features of your iPhone, this radio is everything I hoped it would be and much more.
I strongly recommend stepping up the extra money to get the JVC Arsenal over the normal brand not just for the extra year warranty but exceptional build quality.
Now I need to add more features like back-up camera. Happy trails to all!

The KW-ADV64BT can display ID3 Tags (ver. 1.0/1.1/2.2/2.3/2.4) for MP3 files, as well as WAV/WMA Tag information. You can control basic playback functions; such as folder/file search, play/pause, and skip next/previous. USB portable audio players that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the DVD receiver's USB port (5V/1A), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.
Note: This unit cannot recognize a USB device whose rating is other than 5V and exceeds 1A. You cannot connect a computer or portable HDD to the USB port of this unit. There is also a front-panel USB port hidden behind the unit's detachable touchscreen monitor. This USB port is used only for the pre-installed USB Bluetooth adapter. It cannot be used to connect a USB memory device.
BlackBerry Music Playback: The JVC Arsenal KW-ADV64BT's USB port supports playback from BlackBerry smartphones (via USB mass storage mode). You can control basic playback functions; such as folder/file search, play/pause, and skip next/previous.
Drive Change Mode (for BlackBerry and Android): JVC's Drive Change Mode lets you connect your Android or BlackBerry smartphone (that uses an external memory card) directly to the head unit, via USB. Drive Change Mode will let you switch between your Android or BlackBerry smartphone's internal and external memory (such as microSD Card), so you can listen to music stored on either memory. You'll continue to be able control basic playback functions; such as folder/file search, play/pause, and skip next/previous; regardless of memory type.
iPod/iPhone AV Playback: The optional JVC KS-U30 USB A/V Cable For iPod/iPhone (105KSU30, sold separately) allows you to playback and control audio/video from your iPod or iPhone on this JVC multimedia head unit. The cable features a proprietary Apple iPod dock connector on one end and a male composite video and male stereo audio RCA connectors on other end along with a USB type-A connector. The cable plugs into the unit's rear-panel AV input and USB port. To playback video, the KW-ADV64BT's rear-panel Video Input must be set to "iPod" in the unit's menu. Video can only be displayed while the vehicle is in park. You can also connect your iPod's USB/Docking cable to the unit's USB port for audio only playback from your iPod/iPhone. The head unit's rear-panel Audio Input must be set to "AV-IN", not "iPod".
Note: If you have an iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), or iPhone 5; use the Lighting-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect to the head unit. These Apple devices only support audio playback (no video output).
iPod/iPhone DAC Bypass: Because the JVC Arsenal KW-ADV64BT uses its USB connection for audio & control transfer, your iPod/iPhone's stored music is loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality is maximized through the head unit's 24-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal-to-Noise ratio up to 95dB. 24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC Arsenal KW-ADV64BT utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.
MOSFET Amplifier: The KW-ADV64BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.
CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the KW-ADV64BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the KW-ADV64BT are as follows:
- CEA2006 Specs: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
- Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)
Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KW-ADV64BT with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to low, the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to high, and the volume control will range from 0 to 50. The internal amp can also be turned off when all the speakers are powered by outboard amplifiers.
5ch/4V Preamp Outputs: The KW-ADV64BT is equipped with 5ch/4.0V preamp outputs (Front, Rear, Subwoofer). The front and rear preamp outputs allow fader control, while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading.
Subwoofer Control: You can adjust the KW-ADV64BT's subwoofer level (-50 to +10) independently from the head unit's main volume control for added bass volume.
Built-in Crossovers: The JVC Arsenal KW-ADV64BT features a built-in high-pass filter for the unit's front & rear speakers, and a low-pass filter for the unit's subwoofer output.
- High-Pass Filter: You can activate a variable high-pass filter (40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220 Hz or Through) for the unit's front & rear channels (speaker- or preamp-level), so low frequency signals are cut off from your system's front & rear speakers. The front & rear channel's high-pass filters can be set independently of one another.
- Low-Pass Filter: The unit's subwoofer preamp output features a low-pass filter. In order to prevent high-frequencies from being sent to your system's subwoofers, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter to 50, 60, 80, 100, 120 Hz or Through.
Speaker Select: You can select which type & size of speaker you have connected to the head unit. Choose from Standard (OEM/Factory), Narrow (4"/5"), Middle (6"/5x7"/6x8"), Wide (6x9").
Pro EQ: The KW-ADV64BT is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 8 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, Vibrant, and User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).
|Bass||60, 80, 100, 150 Hz||+/- 10 dB (-5 to +5)||1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0|
|Midrange||0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 kHz||+/- 10 dB (-5 to +5)||1.0, 2.0|
|Treble||10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 kHz||+/- 10 dB (-5 to +5)||Fixed|
Note: The audio adjustments are memorized for each source until you adjust the sound again.
Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. You can set the Loudness to On or Off.
Dynamic Range Compression: This function reduces a Dolby Digital soundtrack's dynamic range so you can hear quieter dialog without being overwhelmed by loud sections. You can choose a setting of On (reduced dynamic range), Dialogue (clearer movie dialogue), or Off (full dynamic range).
Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -15 to +6.
Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.
Front-Panel A/V Input: The JVC KW-ADV64BT is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm A/V input for connecting an external audio/video source, such as a portable digital audio player.
Audio/Video Input: The rear-panel audio/video input consists of left and right RCA audio jacks and an RCA composite video jack, allowing you to connect external equipment to this head unit. The audio/video input can be set to one of the following modes:
- AV IN: Choose when connecting an A/V component like a game system.
- iPod Video: Select when connecting your iPod using the optional USB/Video cable (105KSU30, sold separately).
Camera In: The rear-panel Camera input consists of a composite video connector which allows you to connect an optional rear-view camera (105KVCM10, sold separately). The unit features a reverse gear signal wire, that when connected to your vehicle's reverse light circuit, will automatically switch the KW-ADV64BT's display to the rear-view camera input. Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.5 seconds.
Note: Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.
Video Output: The rear-panel Video Output consists of a composite video jack that allows you to connect an optional external monitor. You can watch the same audio/video source that is being played back on the JVC head unit on your connected external monitor (sold separately). You can choose one of the following monitor types for the output to the external monitor(s):
- 16:9: Select this when the aspect ratio of your monitor is 16:9.
- 4:3 Letter Box: Select this when the aspect ratio of your monitor is 4:3, when viewing a widescreen picture black bars appear on the top and bottom of the screen.
- 4:3 Pan Scan: Select this when the aspect ratio of your monitor is 4:3, when viewing a widescreen picture, the black bars do not appear; however, the left and right edges of the picture will not be shown on screen.
