Our take on the JVC KW-HDR720

Your dash is big enough for a double-DIN (4" tall) receiver — fill it with the elegant JVC KW-HDR720 CD receiver and you'll never look back. It'll put the power and clarity of HD Radio™ at your fingertips, plus give you the great sound and extra features you'd expect from a JVC receiver.

Tap into the digital power of HD Radio
Are you a lover of local radio? Then HD Radio is right up your alley. Its static-free digital signal pumps up the quality of FM to near CD-quality, and makes the AM signal sound almost as good as traditional FM. HD Radio stations can also broadcast multiple channels on the same frequency, giving you more listening options.

Great for your iPod® or iPhone®
Your whole music collection's on your iPod, so don't leave it at home. Connect it to the KW-HDR720's front USB input, and you can use the large wheel and easy-to-reach buttons to dive into your music library. You'll see plenty of song info on the easy-to-read, two-line display.

With your iPod connected and an HD Radio station tuned in, you can "tag" songs you like for purchasing later. The next time you connect your player to your computer, you'll get a reminder from the iTunes™ store. It's a great way to expand your music collection.

Killer display
JVC's Separated Variable-Color Display lets you dial in the perfect hue for your taste. You can choose from over 30,000 options, and you can even assign different colors to your controls and the display — decorate your dash in honor of your favorite team, with your school colors, or simply complement your existing lighting. If you're undecided, the receiver can cycle through all the colors continually for a really neat effect.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

iPod note:
If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

I like this unit. I has a lot of features I know I will never use though.

First and last JVC I'll buy

WirePro_Joe from Woburn, MA on 4/5/2016

    2011 Ford E Series

This was my fist JVC. It will be my last. My two biggest complaints are: 1. The clock does not display unless the radio is on. Seriously? It doesn't take a scientist to figure out that turning on the radio just to see the clock is inconvenient. JVC dropped the ball on this one. 2. Second complaint is the buttons are horrible. They don't press in to well and I'm not always sure I've pressed hard enough. I would sometimes have to press the on button several times to turn the radio on. Finally... The radio all of a sudden today stopped functioning. None of the buttons would do anything . I tried doing a factory reset and still nothing. JVC losses my business.

    Cons: see above

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Worst electronic purchase I've ever made. Was really happy at first. Took a little while to figure out how to work everything, but no big deal. HD Radio is cool, love the capability to customize colors and USB feature. Now speaking of USB feature, right at 1 yr, USB stopped reading the iPod and iPhone. Tech support said to try a flash drive. That worked for a while, but it won't read anything now. Tech support says to reset back to factory settings....didn't work. Another issue that started just over 1 yr mark is that when I start up the truck periodically, there is no sound. Turn off and turn back on usually takes care of the problem. Well, not the case today. Started up the truck and no sound. Turned off the radio and it would not power back on, period. I figured it was shot. I eventually remembered the reset button. That brought the radio back. Haven't checked anything else yet. By the way, a reset means you loose all radio presets, color setting, everything. Guess I'll have to go back and redo it for the 3rd time in 15 months. My recommendation is to go with a different brand like Sony or Pioneer.

Pros: HD is nice, custom color settings

Cons: Not reliable, USB feature broke just out of warranty, somewhat difficult to figure out how to customize all the settings you want.

I got it as a replacement for the OEM unit after I got sick of the skips on my cd as i rode down the potholed roads of the local berg, I tried a couple of big box stores but the installers were to busy for my taste, so I took the plunge and bought a kit from Chrunchfield, It was just over an hour after I got home I had it installed it took 3 short calls to tech support to get me over the rough spots, all answers were spot on very helpful. The JVC unit is just so fabulous it works great , plenty of power, gobs of features, and a decent owners manual!! So far I'm thrilled with the purchase, and found never again am I gonna pay for an install with the great directions that Crunchfield gives me!!!!1

Pros: Great support, great support documentation, complete install kit Great unit

Cons: the wire nuts were hard to use, I bought my own

Just recieved and installed the head unit, removed the factory radio went with this one..i looked for a week on a bunch of different sites to read reviews of different head units and more often then not this had really high remarks, so after deciding to go with this one, and installing it, it is everything i thought it would be, i just got rid of my last truck that had the navigation package and all the extras and although all those things are nice,, its just too much for a vehicle in my opinion, for me the radio serves one pupose to play some muisc!..this does that nicely, i like i can play the ipod while charging it, the color matching is nice, im sure my gf will turn it to pink when she drives it ha. no real complaints that were unexpected

Pros: factory speakers sound better!,cool color displays, simple to use

Cons: a dull or flat black face would of been a better touch then the shiny black,

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered this receiver for my 2004 Blazer. Although it was my fault, I did not know that someone had previously cut off the Chevrolet factory plug. If they had not done that, it would have been a breeze. I had to contact Crutchfield support. The agent was both prompt and courtious. In a matter of minutes we figured out the color code. It looks like it belongs in the dash, the buttons are large and easy to see, the HD radio is great and all in all it sounds great. The remote is so handy while you are driving if you just take a moment to memorize the button locations. Love the USB and Aux inputs. What more could you want. This is my second receiver purchase from Crutchfield. I will never go anywhere else to purchase one as long as Crutchfield is around. They are with you from start to finish and give you all that you need to finish the job and make it look good.

Pros: Great price and excellant product. I just love it.

Cons: Instructions could be better for the mounting hardware. This probably added 30 minutes to the job for me to figure it out. Maybe if I had been taking out the factory receiver instead of a previous replacement it would have been more clear from the start.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is radio fits nicely and looks good in the car. I took it elsewhere to be installed and plays and sounds so much better than the old factory radio in my GMC Envoy w/o the Bose system. I love the fact that I can plug my IPod into the radio and play music from my playlists, CD's sounds great and haven't picked up any HD radio stations as of yet but the radio sounds great also. Over all you can't go wrong by selecting this JVC radio for your car, you will be very happy!

Pros: Price, awesome sound quality, nice & neat looking radio!

Cons: Instruction manual could provide more clearer information on how to use the many different function of the radio.

    2001 Toyota RAV4
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For upgrading a factory stereo on a 2001 Toyota Rav4, this unit does the job. It has all the new features that I was looking for (Aux & USB input jacks, color adjustable face-plate and HD radio). There is no Bluetooth but I rarely need that anyway. Usability: The unit has an easy to understand interface for all basic functions. Clear and large buttons for the selections you use on a daily basis. This is my girlfriends car and she is "high-tech interface" challenged. Things need to be simple for her and she likes this unit a lot. No problem operating the basic functions. Love the simple "MUTE" feature. When it comes to Color, Sound, EQ and other set-up functions, things get a little harder. The first time around you will have to reach for the owners manual. It took me a couple of tries before I figured out the set-up and menu logic. Not bad once you get the hang of it. Face-plate Colors: Another hit was the adjustable face-plate colors. Good for matching OE scheme or select a favorite hue. Color brightness is fine. Sound: Sound quality is good for the money (serious improvement over stock stereo) but adjusting the Sound and EQ settings the first time around took some help from the manual. Radio: Radio reception is marginally weaker compared to the factory unit. I consider the reception good and the HD feature is great. You can truly hear the difference from regular to HD signal. Fit and Quality: Quality is as expected reasonable but unit sticks out from dash a bit.

Pros: - Easy to use - Very competitively priced - Good color integration - Good sound compared to stock unit - No Quality problems so far - Would recommend to others

Cons: - The only real issue I have is that the Unit sticks out from dash about 1/2 inch making it look like an aftermarket install. Factory unit was flush. - This unit is not hard to use once familiar with it, but "Menus" and "Sub Menus" could use some finessing.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Much improved sound quality over the stock Bose system in the Nissan. Paired with Pioneer speakers, the sound is almost as good as the Bose Symphony system in my Audi. The controls on the unit are confusing for all the lights and equalizer functions - but then I am a technology ludite. The patch cord system into the stock Nissan wiring harness works well, but the instructions are incomplete and so I had to phone tech assistance to finish the installation.

    JVC Radio for Ford Escape

Tom from Huntersville, NC on 2/15/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Needed a replacement radio when the unit in my Escape failed. Good value, better sound (w/o replacing speakers), and I'm sold on HD radio. For an entry unit, at less than half the price of a Ford replacement, I'm very satisfied. The available wiring harness and plate cover allow a professional appearance.

Pros: Good quality , fit, and ease of use.

Cons: My standard display screen on the vehicle (which also contains Temperature & Compass) now reads 'DVD', instead of being blank or 'Ford Escape'. Somewhat annoying. Would like 'time' to appear on radio screen with radio station number, instead of separate view.

    I'm Impressed

AustinS from Goshen, IN on 2/6/2013

Wow. I have had this installed for almost a year now and all I can say is wow. You will not be able to find a stereo with all the qualities this one has for a better price. Every time Someone takes a step into my car the first thing their eyes go to is the stereo. Then after a few seconds of staring, the say "oh my gosh, does it change color?!?!" to which I can happily reply, "yes it does. " But the colors aren't the best thing about it. The HD radio makes all the difference in the world. Its like listening to it straight from my iPod. Best quality ever. Not that I use the radio. I just hook my iPod up to it with the USB cable that came with the iPod. The only trick to this option, is that once you plug in the iPod, the factory settings on the stereo disables the iPod so that you can only control it from your stereo head unit. This is slightly difficult to use, so I did a little fiddling and figured out how to change it. If you go into the menu WHILE YOUR IPOD IS PLUGGED IN, the iPod control option comes up, and you can change it. If it's not plugged in, the menu option wont show up. Or you could just be lazy and plug it in to the head jack :P. The only reason I put a 4/5 in the Ease category is for this reason. the only build quality issue is that I really wish I had a removable face plate, but if your car does get jacked, it's only $ to replace :P. Please get this. It's the best bang for your buck, and it can power anything (even a big sub woofer). Just please by this.

Pros: Sound quality Voltage output Variable color display (by the way, it doesn't just have three colors, it has the rainbow, and you can set it to fade from color to color) Sub woofer hook ups Plenty of menu options iPod hook ups HD radio Easy to read display

Cons: No removable face plate That iPod option took me a while to figure it out

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

great deck, installed in a 2004 tahoe with bose. YES the sub pre-out does work. as everyone says, it made the stock speakers sound alot better and louder. I ended up keeping the stock sub functional, and added a 10" l5 kicker in a custom box in the back rear panel. between the 2 subs, it sounds great. not to much, but enough when you want it. it was a very tight fit with all of the adapters to keep the chimes, and stock speakers, but it works. wife and kids love taking it everywhere now.

Pros: great for the price, many functions

Cons: not sure if it just the wire that i have for the usb/iphone, but it gets loose everyonce in a while and takes over the stereo "reading". minor problem, will try a different wire.

    2004 Ford Mustang
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered this radio to replace the stock radio (CD quit), and wanted something that was easy to operate while driving. Most radios I saw and tried in the local stores were single DIN and lots of cramped tiny buttons. Crutchfield offered this at a very reasonable price, and was able to install it with no problems. My review reflects the JVC disappointment, CD can't read even new CD's. Since this was my main reason to replace my stock radio - well it seems a waste of money and time. The HD was another thing I was looking forwad to enjoying, and turns out reception is weaker than my stock radio - how sad is that! So, what was good or at least acceptable about this Radio... it worked just fine with the supplied connectors to connect to the existing MACH 1000 audio system (no popping), it can match my current dash display color perfectly, it is easy to make selections while driving, IPOD input and the blue tooth adaptor work just fine, the sound is adjustable and acceptable (no better or worse than stock). All in all it was a disapponitment and I guess I got what I paid for at less than $300. If you take my advice keep looking since the only function that works well are the devices you connect to it.

Pros: Easy install, Fancy Colors, Fits perfectly, Works well with other devices.

Cons: FM reception poor, CD's inability to read most of what you give it, expected more from JVC.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit is good value for money. I was pleasantly surprised regarding the quality of the HD radio. I was not sure if this was more of a gimmick. I can really hear the difference. The iPod interface is OK, it does easily allow the user to control from the head unit or the iPod. The unit has many sound controls, but the instruction manual does not explain what the settings do. It took me alot of trial and error of playing with settings to get the sub woofer to work, and to make the system sound its best. Also Crutchfield needs to review its database regarding the "01 Escape regarding the availability of Factory radios. To their credit, Crutchfield did send me both possible wire harnesses. The install went fairly smoothly, but you do have to dremel part of your dash away to make the double DIN unit fit. I was a bit unnerved, but the car is a 2001 and the factory radio will never be installed into this vehicle again as the factory replacement was several hundred dollars more than this JVC unit. Overall I am pleased. Better yet my wife is pleased as this is her car. She commented about how "unstatic-y her new radio is.

Pros: Price / double DIN size makes for larger buttons and display / USB on the front of the unit. / HD radio

    Cons: Instruction manual

The bass and treble controls are extremely cryptic....extremely. the alpha numeric display doesnt show enough of your ipod playlists and songs. the install instructions were lacking is the best bet. overall...for the price it is a great upgrade...i wanted it for ipod use etc...not the radio. the wiring harness was a breeze....solder and heat shrink it. the trim ring from the install kit is all you need...nothing else. KEEP and READ the manual...otherwise your goose is cooked as far as controls go. if i had to do it again i think i would have gone with a sl upgraded model...BUT....i have an ipod compatible unit now and i'm happy.

It's a nice unit. I haven't bought an aftermarket radio in many years and the refinement in this radio is a pleasant surprise. A little too much "disco dash" display for our taste but I guess that's what the folks are calling coolness factor these days these days.

Pros: It's 1st class and way nicer than the factory supplied AM/FM/CD unit it replaced.

Cons: I'm a yester-tech sort of guy. Give me on/off, volume, balance, tone, function, and channel selection controls with more single function knobs and buttons and I'd be more satisfied. I like a radio that doesn't require a user manual.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This review is specific to the radio. Will rate the other products separately. Installed this system in a couple of hours. It works great. I wanted a replacement radio that had large buttons so they were easy to locate while driving (from experience). Also wanted a large display so it was easy to read at a glance. This radio fit the needs. It works as expected and the sound is clear. Functions are easy to use after reading the instructions and going through the menus a few times. It is a good radio for the price.

Pros: HD Radio, Works with iPhone / iPod (I have an iPod in the car), large screen, easy to navigate menus, default settings, clock on display

Cons: The volume control know is very slick and hard to use with dry hands. I put a black rubber band around the knob and problem solved. Looks like it came that way...

    Radio Controls Completely Illogical

    2008 Toyota Corolla
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love the built-in HD radio. Sound is great. However, the FM band has 18 presets but not in three groups of six - rather in one group of 18. And those 18 must be accessed sequentially from 18 backwards or from 1 forwards. That's really dumb. Furthermore if I select a preset HD1 and forward to HD2, the only way to go back to HD1 is sequentially from either 1 or 18. In its defense, however, there are six buttons on the right for direct access to the first six presets. There appear to be little speakers in the front doors in the forward bottom corner of the windows (just inside the mirrors); but once i got access to the adapter plug behind the factory radio I didn't see any wires for those speakers. The point is that I could have easily ordered the six-speaker option, but would have had no wires to connect those small speakers. So I guess a little more up-front info on the ins and outs of connecting (or not) those little speakers would be helpful.

Pros: Installation is prettty easy. About an hour.

Cons: Radio channel selection logic is very poor. Toyota antenna sucks, and there is no after-market one available.

It went together smoothly and now I can control my ipod with my steering wheel controls (believe it or not, I couldn't do that with the factory radio)! The JVC has everything I wanted - HD radio and ipod controls - and it is really neat looking too! Let me say, thanks Crutchfield, once again you have provided us with everything needed for a professional installation.

Pros: For me, now I can control my ipod with my steering wheel controls. Great looking finished product! I sure don't understand the negative reviews, it went together just fine and works great.

    Cons: None.

I ordered for my girlfriendinsurance for Christmas. I was very cautious about needing something additional because sneaking in the installation was part of the gift. I got online assistance and the only thing they didn't tell me was exactly what tools I would need to put in the stereo... until I opened the install kit recommended with the stereo! Fantastic! Everything was there. I waswas able to install the stereo in just over an hour. When I get service like this from a company I tell everybody. I will for sure use Crutchfield for future purchases.

Pros: HD radio. Color match display.

    Better Than Factory Radio

    2005 Nissan Frontier
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The radio is good-to-excellent for the proce. The sound quality is more than sufficient . However, it's too difficult to figure out the radio's features and how to use them. The Owner's Mannual is not well done and that might be the crux of the problem. For example, it has directions on setting the clock but I had to figure out on my own how to get it to display. The colors on the radio constantly change and I haven't yet figured out how to set it to one color; I followed the directions, such that they were, but I'm apprently doing something wrong because it continues rotating colors. Thus, good value radio but not all that user friendly to set up. BTW: What is the "Coolness Factor" in the survey? I assume the colors, which I just complained about, but the colors are not a show-stopper; although "cool" I guess if you like rotating colors. This is a good radio for the price, once I figure out how to use it; it might then be a great radio for the price.

Pros: The radio, all parts and wiring that came with it were perfect. The sound quality is much better than the factory radio. It seems well-built but that will take the test of time to know for sure. A BIG PRO to Crutchfield for a well-priced item, the free wiring and mounting face-plates.

Cons: Not too happy with the Owner's Manual. The programing direcitions are insufficient for someone like me who is not good with setting up electronic toys. Also, if you don't have the proper tools (which I don't), consider that you may have to pay additional installiation costs.

Overall, a very high value radio. Very good sound, options, features and I'm pretty demanding. HD radio is a surprisingly nice feature. Glad I opted for a unit with it. Nice to have a little better fidelity and more station options. I went with Crutchfield because of their customer focus and was not disappointed. They're a great company to do business with.

Pros: Cost, features, sound quality. The installation looks great in my 2007 Mustang GT.

Cons: Installation instructions are cryptic from JVC as well as the adapter manufacturer. (The Crutchfield car specific instructions are good.) Menus and setup are somewhat complex, but worth it once you get it right.

I like the unit a lot overall. But it is a bit confusing when it comes to reading and following the directions for channel program saving. I bought this for my wife's Explorer to replace the factory unit who's CD quit working. My wife likes it and says the sound is much better than factory. I will take her word for it as I rarely ride in her car. With the installation kit the mounting looks as close to a factory unit as I could have hoped for. However the installation kit instructions were a bit ambiguous as I had to remove some of the units outer shell to get it to work with the kit. The instructions never said that and I have not replaced a car stereo since I was young. The Crutchfield folks were very eager to help me when I called with questions about the installation. I called three times and each time they answered immediately and knew the solution. Thank you Crutchfield.

This unit replaces the factory receiver in my 2007 Ford Focus commuter car. Sound quality is definitely better than the OEM receiver. Ordered it for the bluetooth feature and then found that you have to order that feature as an accessory.

Pros: Great looking display, great sound quality from FM and the CD player.

Cons: I dislike the FM tuner memory feature. While you can memorize up to 18 FM stations (the 18 includes any HD) you can only program the first six stations into the hot buttons on the front of the receiver. There is no FM-1, FM-2, FM-3 band feature like the OEM receiver has.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this JVC receiver several months ago and have been completely satisfied with its performance. After suffering through the inadequacies of my original OEM Nissan stereo for 7 years, I decided it was time for an update. I researched several different brands/models as well as product reviews. I felt this particular model would deliver the features I desired, and I have not been disappointed. This receiver offers tremendous value for the price. I can access music through the radio, CD, smartphone, MP3 player, and USB flash drive. I find the easiest method is through the USB: One handy little flash drive has replaced all my CD's. Playing music from my phone works well, although using the vehicle navigation dock, aux cord, and charging cord can be a bit cumbersome. I appreciate having a remote control as well as custom colorization capability. This receiver does not come with an instruction booklet ; however, it is accessible online and can be downloaded. The only difficulty I encountered was setting up preset radio stations and had to consult the instructions. Having the additional HD stations available is a bonus. I did not perform the installation myself but instead ordered the kit and took it to a professional installer (who was very appreciative of having the Crutchfield kit as it contained everything needed). I kept my original Nissan speakers as they have proven extremely reliable. They work well with the new receiver with good sound quality.

Pros: Easy to use with lots of features: Remote control, custom colorization, aux input for smartphones and MP3 players, and USB flash drive. Having access to the HD channels offers more variety for listening to local radio stations. The double din sizing results in a very readable display.

Cons: I would have preferred access to more than six preset stations on the actual receiver panel (although they are readily accessible through the remote control). Also, it would've been convenient to have an instruction booklet contained in the box with the receiver instead of having to hunt it down online so I could download and print it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A great head unit all around. My favorite is the HD tuner. If you're not familiar with HD Radio, when you tune to a station you immediately get the regular analog FM station but within about 5 seconds the HD broadcast takes over and the audio becomes crystal clear - and stays that way. My first experience was a real ear opener; I had just gotten the radio installed and tuned into my favorite station which generally has mediocre reception - with constant static and little blips and chirps. This day was particularly bad but within 5 seconds - crystal clear. It was AWESOME.

Pros: Great sound; Easy to use controls and audio selections but...

Cons: the menus are somewhat hard to navigate - I just found the balance and fader the other day after giving up. But once set, I hardly go in there at all.

Installed this unit on a 2006 Nissan Frontier. Installation was relatively easy thanks to Crutchfield (I bought another unit from some other place and they not helpful).I have some Kenwoods previously and I did love them in my last truck. But since my dad bought an older version of the JVC unit I was like why not and bought this. Good choice I made! I paired these up with some JBL GTO938 for my front two speakers and man do these rock! I don't have an amp to drive them up all the way up to the speakers potential (300 W) but these sound amazing with this stereo unit! With the stock stereo unit my speakers were better than stock speakers but not that much better. When I installed this unit those speakers really came life! The HD radio does make a difference when I am driving through Atlanta were they have many different stations. Overall this is a great unit at a great price (for a Double Din). Also I have no troubles viewing the display when sun is shining on it.

This is a premium unit, with all the features and ability to control/customize that you could ask for in a straight-ahead car stereo. It has an abundance of features, and you can dial in the exact sound you want. The ability to change/mix the display colors allows you to match the display lighting in the vehicle, or go off in an entirely different direction, with literally hundreds of custom setting combinations. It gives you total control over the sound and look of the unit. It has plenty of power, especially if you use a remote sub and amp, and use the unit to power just the upper bass, mid, and treble frequencys. This is the second one I have purchased from Crutchfield in the past year; I had to let the first one go when I traded the vehicle. I was so impressed with the first one, I bought the same unit again to replace the factory radio in the vehicle I just purchased. It is Bluetooth-capable, and has inputs on rear and front for usb/i-pod use. The unit is OnStar capable with the correct adapter. A solid, well built, easy to use unit.

Pros: Well made, easy to install, easy to use, plenty of power, attractive face and display. Tailoring the sound and apprearance to your liking is simple and straightforward. A joy to use and own.

Cons: Display shows one funtion at a time, such as time, station, ect. Would be nice if it had speed-compensated auto-volume control, as was in factory radio.

I have had a few used cars over the last few years, and in each I put a new HD radio deck to make those miles much nicer. Of all the radio deck I have had this one outshines the rest. That's older JVC Single DIN, Dual and a totally horrible Pioneer deck. It's comparatively easy to use, the blend from a weak HD to standard AM/FM is nearly flawless - a rather weak point with many units. This is the first time I have every plugged my iPod into the front of a car stereo and not had that manufacturer take a great easy to sue product and make it unworkable. This unit is a joy to work with with any digital input. One minor problem I found is that the FM tuner will not tune down to 87.7, where my favorite station is (Q 87.7 Chicago). Not to worry, it's also on 101.1 HD3. Had it not been rebroadcast there, it might have been a show stopper for me.

Pros: Best HD performance in a budget stereo, flawless failover from digital HD1 to analog.

Cons: Took a while to find the display change button, it's up near the CD player slot where you might usually find an eject button.

This unit is a definite upgrade over the factory unit that was in my Silverado. The audio quality is very impressive, especially the HD radio. Install was a snap with the Crutchfield instructions, mounting kit and wiring harness. It looks great installed. I was even able to use the rear auxiliary input for my satellite radio, so I don't have any cables hanging off the unit...looks much cleaner. Only downfall for GM owners, is that you have to buy the GM wiring harness with the integrated door chimes module. Crutchfield does not include this one for free like they do most others. They did discount the price quite a bit though, so I still think it was a good deal. Also, the chimes on this unit are extremely loud, so I would recommend turning the speaker away from you or using some kind of dampening material (foam, etc.).

Pros: Sounds good, looks great, HD radio, front/rear auxiliary inputs, USB connection for IPod, and so many more.

Installed this unit today in a 2004 Toyota 4Runner Limited. It fit like a glove with the Crutchfield-supplied installation kit. Looks factory installed! Sound quality is fantastic and a lot better than the JBL Synthesis unit it replaced. Wiring harness was spot-on and easy to install with no problems. Menu is a bit awkward, but once various items are set I'll probably never need to change them. One glaring omission on JVC's part is that my iPod does not charge when connected to the radio. Another great feature is the flexibility of the lighting. I was able to perfectly duplicate the same yellow color as the rest of the instrumentation, making it look even more like a factory install. All-in-all, I couldn't be happier.

Subwoofer controls, EQ and EQ presets made fine tuning the system a breeze. the rolling color flow in the display is a bit annoying, but changing day/night colors is cool. ipod controls work great , although the receiver had trouble recognizing the ipod on just a handful of occasions. unplugging and replugging the USB connector on the front of the receiver did the trick

    Pros: easy install,

Cons: controls can be a bit cumbersome , but after the learning curve is out of the way the menu's are easy to navigate.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this when the factory stereo in my van died. Installed the unit about 2 weeks ago and setup went very quickly. Lots of user-definable options I'm still playing with. I love the USB outlet in the front in which I've plugged a mini flash 16GB flash drive which holds virtually my entire music library. Now I don't even need to connect my iPod (but still could if I wanted to.) When I first turned the stereo on and played a CD I was knocked over by the great sound. Wow, my factory stereo never sounded this good! Only downside is that as other reviewers have stated, the tuner isn't very strong and some local FM stations are a bit "fuzzy" when they were crystal clear with my factory stereo. And I can't get anything on AM, even though there are at least 2 very strong, AM stations 10 miles away. If you listen to the radio a lot, especially while traveling, you may want to look for a different unit. If you listen to mostly recordings (CD, iPod, MP3s) like me, then this unit is a winner.

Pros: Lots of connection options for iPods, MP3 players, Flash drives. Lots of user definable options, like EQ and colors.

Cons: Poor radio reception on FM and nothing on AM band

As someone who has dealt with the stock radio from an '02 Explorer for 10 years, this radio is a GIANT step up. I love almost everything about it (see below), and it was a breeze to install thanks to the additional materials that Crutchfield furnished.

Pros: Everything. The HD Radio, the USB port, all the other stuff that I haven't had for the past 10 years. It's all wonderful

Cons: Only one -- as far as I can tell, the clock does not display when the radio is off. I wish it did.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed on my 05' corolla and looks great. Took a while to get it done but the result was worth it. I use it mainly to plug in my iPod with the extra amp to speakers, but the extra 31 different light has been a charm. Matches the color of my under dash lights and since it' s double din, it looks very professional with no pocket hole In the middle of the dash. Well worth the money and will definitely buy with the extra supply and help from Crutchfield.

Pros: Big, flashy, tons of color feature

    Cons: None so far

    I love this unit...

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I really like this receiver. It was easy to install and it's easy to operate. Sound quality is excellent and the "light show" is pretty cool. It was easy to program and easy to use. The remote is "cute" but not sure how useful it is. I threw it in the glovebox just in case someone in the car wants to mess with it. I have a convertible and the display can be hard to see sometimes.

Pros: USB port for songs on a memory stick; large controls are easy to work while driving; easy installation

Cons: Songs on memory stick are difficult to select. Since there can be 350 songs on a stick, you might have to push the selector 100 times to get to a specific song. Hard to see the display in the sunlight. Remote doesn't seem too useful.

    Great bang for the buck

Bobby T from Richmond, VA on 6/27/2012

Bought this to replace the factory unit in my 2004 4runner, mainly for the iPod control. The unit works really well with my iPhone and using the aux port, I can also stream Pandora/Spotify through the unit-- this isn't supported natively through the USB interface. The controls were not very thought out. If I want to adjust the balance, fader, loudness, etc, I have to navigate through several menus to do so. This is not easy while driving. However, the button to change the color of the display is front and center. This seems a bit backwards to me, as I would adjust those colors once, and leave it. I'd rather be able to toggle loudness with a front panel button, and more easily adjust the fader/balance. The unit puts out plenty of power. I had planned on replacing the factory speakers, but they sound so much better with this receiver that I decided to keep my factory speakers for the time being.

Pros: cheap! works well with iPhone plenty of power

Cons: the most poorly thought out controls I've ever seen in a tuner.

This is an impressive double DIN for the price. It was a perfect upgrade from factory to increase power output, add USB and aux input (I still own a 20GB iRiver mp3 player - so I needed aux), HD radio, and can change illumination to match console lighting. It resembles many factory head units so it isn't obvious that it is an aftermarket stereo, thus keeping the thieves at bay.

Pros: HD radio USB and aux inputs Good sound quality

Cons: No sub outputs (only important if you want a sub; I did not)

Just wanted to state for the price this is a really good receiver! My wife loves the ability to listen to all the HD stations, using the IPod control is a breeze and best part is that it makes the original speakers sound 30x better than the old unit. Best part if if she wants the bluetooth option its easily upgrade-able. If your looking for a good all around replacement stock receiver check this one out!

Pros: HD radio, ease of use, Ipod integration, upgrade-able bluetooth, simple layout, better sound out of stock speakers

Cons: the multi color is not needed and the annoying demo mode (thank god it can be turned off)

This is a very good stereo for the price, the sound is much better than the factory Ford Mach stereo in my 02 Mustang, The install kit did require a little extra modification on the back to secure radio to the rail but this was no major issue. This unit looks like it came with the car from the factory and the support you get from Crutchfield makes this a very good buy. I had to call the support line while installing my unit and they answered very quickly and solved my issue in less than three minutes. These guys know radios!!.. I would not recommend buying this or any other unit from some other company. I'm a big fan of Crutchfield now and a customer for life.

Pros: I enjoy the colors that are available to choose from to either match my other interior lights or just let it change at radium, and the HD radio sounds great.

Cons: There are allot of settings imbedded that takes some time to figure out, and i would like to have the time showing with the station at the same time.

I have found the USB function makes it very easy to load up a stick of memory which you plug in and out as needed, reads quickly and when taken out holds where your music where it left off. It has all the key features I wanted: HD Radio, USB, Aux Inputs, and control iPod.

Pros: Install really could not have been any easier with wiring adapters & detailed instructions from Crutchfield I was able to set up my steering wheel controls which was one of the reasons for this purchase.

I recently purchased this reciever to replace the factory radio in my 2008 Kia Sedona LX. Thanks to Crutchfield for including everything I needed for a smooth and hassel-free installation. They included all removal and installation instructions, the wiring adapter that was needed, and the proper bracket and trim rings. All this was included with no extra charge. You can buy this reciever for the same price or maybe 10 dollars cheaper elsewhere, but then you have to find and buy the extra stuff you will need. Good Luck. Thank you Crutchfield for making this installation very simple.

Pros: Great improvement over the factory sound. HD Radio is awesome. I now listen to most of my music through my I-Pod Nano. Could not be happier. This was better than I hoped for. I can still add a power amp and sub if I desire.

Cons: Too many color choices. Had to go through many menu choices to get the desired color. Since that was my biggest problem that's not so bad after all.

I am only rating it a 4 due to the pre amp issue. Basically, I get nothing when I hook up my under the seat sub. Crutchfield has done a great job in helping me. The tech dept is still checking into the issue. Everything else on the unit works great! I replaced all speakers and this unit made them sound really good, even without the sub working.

Pros: Great double din for the money, good power, sub pre amp and output level

Cons: Sub pre amp and possibly the other pre amps not working

    Excellent Double DIn!

Ross R from MN on 4/22/2012

While you many cheaper head units can deliver the same RMS rating and quality, for a Double DIN this is a great head unit. The Pro EQ and audio adjustment is great for me, and the 2 preamps on the rear is nice for the amp and sub I have hooked in. Only knock against it is that the subwoofer i have hooked up (to the rear pre amp as suggested) sounds better when the rear speakers are left in rear, not subwoofer mode.

Pros: Cheap Double DIN, sound quality, looks and customization of color and sound

Cons: Subwoofer mode is pretty useless, even with the subwoofer boost at +8.

Much better radio compared to Honda OEM radio in Pilot. Lots of interface options (iPods, even Shuffle via ext audio source plug). I will have to add an external amp for the subwoofer but steering wheel controls work with an ASWC adapter interface that required no manual programming. Tuner provides better reception than the OEM radio, handles HD radio. Well built. Crutchfield instructions missed a step of removing some mount casing on the JVC before using the Crutchfield supplied mounting plastic. JVC button choices and menu settings not immediately obvious but after reading short manual, everything is easy to do. Someone mention lack of Clock display while listening but the DISP button allows clock to be displayed always on one of its options. Very satisfied with Crutchfield support; putting non-Honda components in a Honda is never straightforward.

Pros: Interface options Display options Sound quality

Cons: Smooth finish on the faceplate collects finger smudges but wipes clean easily.

Great radio, love the fact that you can adjust the color of the display to match the color of you're dashboard.Have been enjoying the hd programming(there is alot of it available in this area).Regular am and fm reception is very good too.Usb drives work great and am also able to listen to content from my Sansa mp3 player thru it too.For the price and everything that came with it(mounting hardware, harnesses, master sheet information and free shipping),you can't beat it.Did I mention free shipping?

Pros: Great radio, easy to use and program.Able to adjust display to match vehicle display color.Awesome sound,JVC is known for that.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just finished installing a new JVC KWHDR720 HD radio, JBL rear speakers, and JVC Bluetooth adapter into my wife's Buick Regal that was originally equipped with the Bose Monsoon sound system. I have to say that the new radio and speakers sound much better. Amazingly clean sound from the local HD radio stations!

Pros: Great appearance and sound. Great guidance from Advisor (Brandy) and Tech Support folks.

Cons: Not quite a Saturday afternoon project. Some adapter wiring confusion not addressed by the installation sheets, but Tech Support folks gave 100% accurate guidance, and everything operated perfectly the first time. Also, the Bluetooth adapter plug interfered with the fiberglas radio enclosure in the dash. After removing a very small area of the fiberglass with a rotary tool the radio nested properly into its opening. (I advised Tech Service of this so they could update the installation guide.)

This was the best radio available for anywhere near the price. The HD feature double DIN...awesome. Was easy to install with the legendary Crutchfield included items and instructions. Took longer to set up the harness adapter than the actual install. Great radio, love the colors (Blue/Orange work best for me), sounds great too. Far superior to the factory radio.

    Pros: All of it.

Cons: None really when you consider everything you get for the price.

Great unit for the money and the changing color on the display is cool. The only issue has been the week signal for stations especially the HD stations. It could be the antenna but I did not have this issue with the factory unit. Still working on it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First JVC I have owned and the KW-HDR720 is great love the display of changing colors, very easy to figure out and use, best radio out there for what it does and the options it has at a very affordable price. I put this in a 2004 chevy express van worked great had to do some modifications to the radio kit that came with the it, radio was bigger than the hole was. But thats ok sometimes you have to do some mods. Also used the wiring harness where you dont lose your chime's like door opened or fuel low warning sound wrapped some electrical tape around it and its no lounder than the one in it already, there was a part you could snip with cutters but didnt want to do that Overall the radio is awesome the family loves it and the coolness of the colors is great, love the fact that it has 3 sets of pre-outs, front usb, front and rear aux. ports and HD radio pulling in stations that you would not be able to hear with out it. I would highly suggest buying a mini flash drive for the usb, they stick out no more than a half inch and you dont have to worry about someone hitting it and breaking the radio or flash drive. A 2gb can hold about 500 to 600 songs on it. It also has tagging for your ipod, you want find a better deal out there on a double din radio this one is the stuff..

Pros: Crutchfield is awesome been buying from them since the mid to late 80's and the free stuff you get with purchase, anywhere else you would have to pay for that. free shipping to boot sounds like a home run to me.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Unit looks good and works good, however, AM reception is terrible, after sunset can not get even strong stations in my local city. That is very disappointing. Sound quality when locked on an HD station is pretty good, noticably better than non HD, but again reception is spotty. the FM is better. Sound from my stock speakers is better with FM and HD AM but not as good with cd. The Factory stereo in my Toyota Tacoma sounded bad with radio, horrible with aux MP3 and for some strange reason great with cd, awesome bass and clrity with cds. I know doesnt make sense but it was great w/Cds. the new JVC is not as good with cds, have to crank the bass up and still not as powerful, but sound is better with radio and aux input is tolerable now. Love the way it looks and works other than that.

    Pros: Look,HD radio,inputs

Cons: Poor AM reception,Aux volume low, lacks bass punch even with cds

JVC KWHDR720 plays well. Installation was a bit of a challenge but that has more to do with getting at radio mount in a 2001 Toyota 4 runner. This brought the radio / CD system into 21st century! I'm using with iPhone. Happy with the results after installation. Would buy it again.

Pros: Great sound with no speaker change and features are good. Looks great in double DIN mount.

Cons: Software menu needs to be understood to enjoy the features. Reading manual a couple of times is required.

Pros: Great sound. When the HD works it's great!

Cons: When it is cold outside the scrolling of the song titles is blurry. HD reception cuts out about 50% of the time. I thought it might have been the unit, but it cuts out at the same areas of the roads each day. Time should be displayed in other viewing modes.

I have 4 6.5 Infinity Reference speakers in my cabin and a Infinity Reference 12 in the trunk. I'm 35 and listen to country and rap. Weird, I know. Anyway, I was tired of static from the local radio stations. With the HD receiver there is no static and lots of stations. Had fun installing it. First install ever, wasn't too hard, just be ready to take a full day or two to put it in. Even more fun listening to it. Some days I wish my 30 minute commute was longer.

    Pros: HD is perfect.

Cons: I like all the tuning options. The instructions explaining what the tuning options do to the way the music sounds could have been better... It didn't have any.

    HD Radio in Double-Din

    2004 Toyota Highlander
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this the day the price went down after the holidays so was pleasantly surprised, since I had planned to buy it anyway. I had already purchased a Kenwood KDC-HD548U HD Radio for another vehicle months ago, but was not happy with it's small single din size and tiny buttons. So when it came time to buy one for my Toyota Highlander, I was determined to get a true double-din unit. Since I sometimes demo HD Radio to clients I wanted an uncluttered front panel and this one does it. Although I would have liked a unit with RBDS to display title and artist on analog FM stations, such a unit with both HD Radio and RBDS apparently does not exist. Good RF sensitivity, a wide/narrow IF option, and even a stereo/mono switch. One surprise I found after purchasing this unit is that it WILL play from an iPAD (as well as an iPOD or iPHONE). It also allows you to trim levels from the different sources so that all are roughly equal. I use the front panel aux for my XM Radio, eliminating the cassette adapter used in the original OEM radio. The menu can be learned quickly after just a few minutes with the manual. Installation went smoothly and I'm very happy with its appearance on the dash replacing the OEM radio.

Pros: Double Din size Easy to operate with big fingers HD Radio with iTunes tagging plays from iPAD

Cons: Does not have RBDS for title/artist on analog stations.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off I am not a JVC fan due to poor factory customer service on a previously purchased home VCR. Crutchfield service for this purchase was excellent. I purchased this unit to replace the OEM stereo in a 2002 Mazda Protege mostly because Crutchfield said it fit and required no modifications. Installation out of the box fit perfectly and I did not use the Metra kit added by Crutchfield. Crutchfield's stereo harness matched perfectly to the JVC harness making soldering easy. I was disappointed that the stereo kit did not include a M4x8 rear support, which I fabricated. The OEM head had a M5x8 rear support. The HDR720 sounds great and is more intuitive to operate than other receivers I considered. The HD radio is crystal clear. AM seems a bit noisy, but with HD FM I am not too concerned. USB control is good and fairly straight forward to operate. Sound quality is crisp, especially on the dynamic EQ setting. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase considering my dislike for JVC service.

Pros: Sound quality is impressive and drives OEM speakers better than the factory unit. Double DIN was easy to install and the head is easy to use. Very cool color changing display.

Cons: The unit will default to the F-Aux, rather than the previous source when quitting the CD or USB sources. Control knob seems a bit flimsy. Works well with a USB drive, but not a Sansa mp3 player. Loudness adjustment is too LOUD!

    Great Replacement Head Unit

JohnP from New Jersey on 12/31/2011

I installed this unit in my 2011 Xterra to replace the so-so stock stereo. Using the included dash kit and wiring made installation a snap. I purchased this to have access to HD radio which BTW is awesome if you live in an area with HD radio broadcasts. The sound is CD quality . I am in the NY metro area so there are plenty of stations. If there were none by me I'd probabably have purchased a different unit. FM tuner works well pullin in stations and I think is limited by the vehicle's antenna system but far better than stock. Display is large and dimmable and can be customized or you can use a preset color. My main gripe with the display is that the clock should be shown by default instead of the preset number or what have you. There are many many features that can be accessed by a menu system that is a bit clunky to use and not recommended to do so while driving. There are 18 presets for FM but no FM1,FM2, FM3 and so forth which is nice if traveling. Only the first six have buttons. The volume/mute/menu dial is large but could use a nonslip grip. This unit works wll with the BTA100 blutooth adapter. I still have the stock speakers and they sound far better now but they will eventually get upgraded. The JVC KW-HDR720 is not perfect but is definitely worth considering if you want HD radio and flexible input choices. Sound is great and plenty of power.

Pros: HD Radio tuner, display color options, USB and aux inputs, large display

Cons: clock doesnt display by default, no FM 1,2,3, Volume control lacks rubber grip, bottom of unit protrudes farther than top, menu features difficult to navigate

I did a lot of research on this product before actually purchasing it from Crutchfield. I read most all the previous reviews and found them very useful in my decision. This radio is fantastic and I am still amazed how great it sounds and all that it does, especially the HD-Radio. Installation was interesting, but managed to figure out the mounting situations and picked the right one for my 2006 Ford F-150. I am looking forward to years of enjoyment from this unit. Just have to tweak it the way I want to... lights, sound, etc.

Pros: HD-Radio, MP3 CDs and iPhone 4 support. Crutchfield's reliability and product support.

Cons: Have not found anything yet that I do not like about this JVC Model.

Would buy it again and Crutchfields tech support made install quick and easy.

Pros: Sounds great. Big upgrade over stock. Like the preset equalizations (most of my music sounds best to me on Dynamic). Wife and kids are ipod people and they LOVE the ease of connectity and onboard controler (plus its charging). Seems to play our historic CDs well so far. Kids won't let me set it to a matching color for the dash. Vario it is.

Cons: fine tuning treble, mid, bas is buried a couple menus down. Have have not figured out how to automate the diming with the rest of the dash when headlights go on (may just be my truck). Loud is LOUD, not just a tweak.

    Nice, but with its flaws

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this radio yesterday and so far so good. The menu is a little awkwardly setup, but it has many features built in. My main beef is with the clock, which only displays when it is selected in the display. This would be ok if the station/song info still showed, but it does not; or if there was dedicated clock button. However, this is a huge upgrade over my stock radio.

Pros: The sound quality is fantastic, and the HD radio is a very nice addition that I wasn't expecting much out of. Having some commercial free alternative stations for free is nice. Being able to match the display to the rest of my car is great.

Cons: The menu setup is a bit awkward, and the display does not show the clock at all times; never when my iPhone is connected.

    Pros: Basically everything!

Cons: My only complaints are; A) When using the subwoofer controls, you have to go through a couple of menus before you can adjust the bass level. B) When starting the car, the music comes on a few seconds before you are able to turn down the volume. If you leave the volume up high when you turn your car off, you may be in for a loud surprise.

A excellent investment without breaking the bank on features that one does not need. Unit was installed in an 02 Miata and looks great to boot with a perfect fit as a replacement for a double din. Also a nice touch with the endless possibilities of display/button colors to match ones' instrument color. It has all the key features I need/wanted: HD Radio, USB, Aux Inputs, and control for iPhone and iPod. The sound is great with extra controls over bass, mids and highs. It might take a little while to tweak the settings to your taste and the menu takes a little getting use to. The sales staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. And you can't beat the free install kits. Had the radio installed in under an hour.

Installed in my wife's 2005 Chevy Equinox. She loves the pink buttons, and I love the HD channels. Thanks to Crutchfield for providing the Metra installation kit that made the radio fit the dash opening seamlessly. The only dislike is that the display doesn't allow you to see the clock, station call #, or song title on the same screen. The two line display is wasted by not taking advantage of all that area to display the info you really need to see, so you must press the display button repeatedly until you find what you're looking for. That being said, I give it 4 stars.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit to replace a factory installed CD/Radio in my 1999 Honda Accord Sedan. The double-din size, large display, HD radio, and ipod/Aux connectability were the features I was seeking as well as the LED color matching to the car's finish. The installation accessories from Crutchfield were great but I did have a problem with the wire harness that I am addressing with their support staff. The finish on this unit is a glossy black which may clash with your interior but looks/feels very quality. The unit does come with a gloss black faceplate that fit my car a bit better than the one included from Crutchfield, but they're nice to give you the option. The iPod harness works with a USB cable and charges your ipod (check for compatibility) while allowing for several different control modes and viewing the track/artist/playlist/time elapsed/track number and browsing the contents of the ipod from the head unit. Sound is quite good and is compatible with a sub, extra speakers, a Bluetooth adaptor, and/or steering wheel control module. Sound and features are great but my one note of improvement (besides the remote control, which can just be omitted) is that the screen is very low-res. There are only a dozen letters visible in a song's title and the letters scroll in a choppy effect--a higher res screen would accomodate more fluid scrolling and easier-to-read letters that would match the good looks of the rest of the unit.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit gives you so much for the price - HD Radio and iPod control, plus bluetooth (I also bought and installed the optional adapter). You can match the lighting with your dashboard, since JVC gives you a bunch of color options with the display. There's even a daytime/nightime brightness setting. Installed this in a 2005 Honda CRV. I used the OEM brackets. The bracket dimples did not align with the radio, but I just screwed them on anyway. Crutchfield's included wiring harness and dash trim fit perfectly. (Well, there must be a < 1mm gap between the trim and dash opening, but the wife didn't notice.) My only complaint is that the iPod loads a little slowly (maybe 4 to 5 secs). Also, the clock doesn't display when song info is displayed. Not a big deal. I just told my wife to start using her watch. Sound is great even with the stock speakers. The controls are much easier to use than the single din radio I own. Now stop reading the reviews and go ahead and buy it! You'll probably find it a little cheaper elsewhere, but with the included wiring harness, trim kit, vehicle mastersheet and unparalleled support, you can't go wrong getting it from Crutchfield.

I put a couple of 100W 6x9 in the back and left the factory speakers in the front and it sounds great. If I ever blow the fronts out I will replace them then. Installation went very smoothly and took a couple of hours. All the parts I needed were right in the box and the instructions were plainly written. A great Birthday present ...... as a relatively Tech/repair savvy person- I spoke with the representative and right off the bat I commented that the "filler pieces" do not look right to me- but I took his advise and proceeded with the instal- after trying to get some outer parts removed without complete instructions provided I was able to get my factory brackets on but the filler/trim pieces did not do the job. I placed the unit as intended and replaced the dash trim work just to check and indeed it doesn't fit properly and there is a huge gap on the bottom side of the unit. after calling 3 or 4 x to support I give up and I'm putting my 2006 Toyota tundra factory unit back in my truck for now and shipping this one back. I bought this unit because its double DIN and the illumination can be adjusted to match the rest of the dash. USB input on the front panel was the deciding factor. HD radio is a plus. Pros: - Sounds better than the factory system. - Nice display - Fit my dash perfectly - Up front USB - HD Radio - Easily reachable FM presets (I listen to FM most of the time) - Integrates to my steering wheel controls (most functions) Cons: - It makes a VERY annoying BEEP through the speakers every time you push a button. I hate that and I don't see a way to turn it off. Grr. - Common audio Menu commands are buried too deep. It's silly to have the demo mode come up every time you access the menu. Most head units remember what you did last and bring you back there next time. Not this one. - Owner's manual is lame. Not enough discription of the different functions and a very minimal index. Overall I'm pleased, but it's only been one day so time will tell.

Very impressed. After smooth install in a 2003 honda element with 7 speakers i was first a little disappointed with the sound.....until I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. You custom set your outputs in the Menu for each set of speakers. My car rocks now! Hats of to Crutchfield for including all the wiring harnesses and trim.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love the way the unit looks and sounds. However, I am unable to see any clock display. Also, I was niot able to get the hands free steering wheel controls to function.
