Can't find your exact car?

Your dash is big enough for a double-DIN (4" tall) receiver — fill it with the elegant JVC KW-HDR720 CD receiver and you'll never look back. It'll put the power and clarity of HD Radio™ at your fingertips, plus give you the great sound and extra features you'd expect from a JVC receiver.

Tap into the digital power of HD Radio
Are you a lover of local radio? Then HD Radio is right up your alley. Its static-free digital signal pumps up the quality of FM to near CD-quality, and makes the AM signal sound almost as good as traditional FM. HD Radio stations can also broadcast multiple channels on the same frequency, giving you more listening options.

Great for your iPod® or iPhone®
Your whole music collection's on your iPod, so don't leave it at home. Connect it to the KW-HDR720's front USB input, and you can use the large wheel and easy-to-reach buttons to dive into your music library. You'll see plenty of song info on the easy-to-read, two-line display.

With your iPod connected and an HD Radio station tuned in, you can "tag" songs you like for purchasing later. The next time you connect your player to your computer, you'll get a reminder from the iTunes™ store. It's a great way to expand your music collection.

Killer display
JVC's Separated Variable-Color Display lets you dial in the perfect hue for your taste. You can choose from over 30,000 options, and you can even assign different colors to your controls and the display — decorate your dash in honor of your favorite team, with your school colors, or simply complement your existing lighting. If you're undecided, the receiver can cycle through all the colors continually for a really neat effect.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

iPod note:
If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

Worst electronic purchase I've ever made. Was really happy at first. Took a little while to figure out how to work everything, but no big deal. HD Radio is cool, love the capability to customize colors and USB feature. Now speaking of USB feature, right at 1 yr, USB stopped reading the iPod and iPhone. Tech support said to try a flash drive. That worked for a while, but it won't read anything now. Tech support says to reset back to factory settings....didn't work. Another issue that started just over 1 yr mark is that when I start up the truck periodically, there is no sound. Turn off and turn back on usually takes care of the problem. Well, not the case today. Started up the truck and no sound. Turned off the radio and it would not power back on, period. I figured it was shot. I eventually remembered the reset button. That brought the radio back. Haven't checked anything else yet. By the way, a reset means you loose all radio presets, color setting, everything. Guess I'll have to go back and redo it for the 3rd time in 15 months. My recommendation is to go with a different brand like Sony or Pioneer.

Pros: HD is nice, custom color settings

Cons: Not reliable, USB feature broke just out of warranty, somewhat difficult to figure out how to customize all the settings you want.

I got it as a replacement for the OEM unit after I got sick of the skips on my cd as i rode down the potholed roads of the local berg, I tried a couple of big box stores but the installers were to busy for my taste, so I took the plunge and bought a kit from Chrunchfield, It was just over an hour after I got home I had it installed it took 3 short calls to tech support to get me over the rough spots, all answers were spot on very helpful. The JVC unit is just so fabulous it works great , plenty of power, gobs of features, and a decent owners manual!! So far I'm thrilled with the purchase, and found never again am I gonna pay for an install with the great directions that Crunchfield gives me!!!!1

Pros: Great support, great support documentation, complete install kit Great unit

Cons: the wire nuts were hard to use, I bought my own

Just recieved and installed the head unit, removed the factory radio went with this one..i looked for a week on a bunch of different sites to read reviews of different head units and more often then not this had really high remarks, so after deciding to go with this one, and installing it, it is everything i thought it would be, i just got rid of my last truck that had the navigation package and all the extras and although all those things are nice,, its just too much for a vehicle in my opinion, for me the radio serves one pupose to play some muisc!..this does that nicely, i like i can play the ipod while charging it, the color matching is nice, im sure my gf will turn it to pink when she drives it ha. no real complaints that were unexpected

Pros: factory speakers sound better!,cool color displays, simple to use

Cons: a dull or flat black face would of been a better touch then the shiny black,

I ordered this receiver for my 2004 Blazer. Although it was my fault, I did not know that someone had previously cut off the Chevrolet factory plug. If they had not done that, it would have been a breeze. I had to contact Crutchfield support. The agent was both prompt and courtious. In a matter of minutes we figured out the color code. It looks like it belongs in the dash, the buttons are large and easy to see, the HD radio is great and all in all it sounds great. The remote is so handy while you are driving if you just take a moment to memorize the button locations. Love the USB and Aux inputs. What more could you want. This is my second receiver purchase from Crutchfield. I will never go anywhere else to purchase one as long as Crutchfield is around. They are with you from start to finish and give you all that you need to finish the job and make it look good.

Pros: Great price and excellant product. I just love it.

Cons: Instructions could be better for the mounting hardware. This probably added 30 minutes to the job for me to figure it out. Maybe if I had been taking out the factory receiver instead of a previous replacement it would have been more clear from the start.

This is radio fits nicely and looks good in the car. I took it elsewhere to be installed and plays and sounds so much better than the old factory radio in my GMC Envoy w/o the Bose system. I love the fact that I can plug my IPod into the radio and play music from my playlists, CD's sounds great and haven't picked up any HD radio stations as of yet but the radio sounds great also. Over all you can't go wrong by selecting this JVC radio for your car, you will be very happy!

Pros: Price, awesome sound quality, nice & neat looking radio!

Cons: Instruction manual could provide more clearer information on how to use the many different function of the radio.

For upgrading a factory stereo on a 2001 Toyota Rav4, this unit does the job. It has all the new features that I was looking for (Aux & USB input jacks, color adjustable face-plate and HD radio). There is no Bluetooth but I rarely need that anyway.

Usability: The unit has an easy to understand interface for all basic functions. Clear and large buttons for the selections you use on a daily basis. This is my girlfriends car and she is "high-tech interface" challenged. Things need to be simple for her and she likes this unit a lot. No problem operating the basic functions. Love the simple "MUTE" feature. When it comes to Color, Sound, EQ and other set-up functions, things get a little harder. The first time around you will have to reach for the owners manual. It took me a couple of tries before I figured out the set-up and menu logic. Not bad once you get the hang of it.

Face-plate Colors: Another hit was the adjustable face-plate colors. Good for matching OE scheme or select a favorite hue. Color brightness is fine.

Sound: Sound quality is good for the money (serious improvement over stock stereo) but adjusting the Sound and EQ settings the first time around took some help from the manual.

Radio: Radio reception is marginally weaker compared to the factory unit. I consider the reception good and the HD feature is great. You can truly hear the difference from regular to HD signal.

Fit and Quality: Quality is as expected reasonable but unit sticks out from dash a bit.

Pros: - Easy to use - Very competitively priced - Good color integration - Good sound compared to stock unit - No Quality problems so far - Would recommend to others

Cons: - The only real issue I have is that the Unit sticks out from dash about 1/2 inch making it look like an aftermarket install. Factory unit was flush. - This unit is not hard to use once familiar with it, but "Menus" and "Sub Menus" could use some finessing.

Much improved sound quality over the stock Bose system in the Nissan. Paired with Pioneer speakers, the sound is almost as good as the Bose Symphony system in my Audi. The controls on the unit are confusing for all the lights and equalizer functions - but then I am a technology ludite. The patch cord system into the stock Nissan wiring harness works well, but the instructions are incomplete and so I had to phone tech assistance to finish the installation.

Needed a replacement radio when the unit in my Escape failed. Good value, better sound (w/o replacing speakers), and I'm sold on HD radio. For an entry unit, at less than half the price of a Ford replacement, I'm very satisfied. The available wiring harness and plate cover allow a professional appearance.

Pros: Good quality , fit, and ease of use.

Cons: My standard display screen on the vehicle (which also contains Temperature & Compass) now reads 'DVD', instead of being blank or 'Ford Escape'. Somewhat annoying. Would like 'time' to appear on radio screen with radio station number, instead of separate view.

Wow. I have had this installed for almost a year now and all I can say is wow. You will not be able to find a stereo with all the qualities this one has for a better price. Every time Someone takes a step into my car the first thing their eyes go to is the stereo. Then after a few seconds of staring, the say "oh my gosh, does it change color?!?!" to which I can happily reply, "yes it does. " But the colors aren't the best thing about it. The HD radio makes all the difference in the world. Its like listening to it straight from my iPod. Best quality ever. Not that I use the radio. I just hook my iPod up to it with the USB cable that came with the iPod. The only trick to this option, is that once you plug in the iPod, the factory settings on the stereo disables the iPod so that you can only control it from your stereo head unit. This is slightly difficult to use, so I did a little fiddling and figured out how to change it. If you go into the menu WHILE YOUR IPOD IS PLUGGED IN, the iPod control option comes up, and you can change it. If it's not plugged in, the menu option wont show up. Or you could just be lazy and plug it in to the head jack :P. The only reason I put a 4/5 in the Ease category is for this reason. the only build quality issue is that I really wish I had a removable face plate, but if your car does get jacked, it's only $ to replace :P. Please get this. It's the best bang for your buck, and it can power anything (even a big sub woofer). Just please by this.

Pros: Sound quality Voltage output Variable color display (by the way, it doesn't just have three colors, it has the rainbow, and you can set it to fade from color to color) Sub woofer hook ups Plenty of menu options iPod hook ups HD radio Easy to read display

Cons: No removable face plate That iPod option took me a while to figure it out

great deck, installed in a 2004 tahoe with bose. YES the sub pre-out does work. as everyone says, it made the stock speakers sound alot better and louder. I ended up keeping the stock sub functional, and added a 10" l5 kicker in a custom box in the back rear panel. between the 2 subs, it sounds great. not to much, but enough when you want it. it was a very tight fit with all of the adapters to keep the chimes, and stock speakers, but it works. wife and kids love taking it everywhere now.

Pros: great for the price, many functions

Cons: not sure if it just the wire that i have for the usb/iphone, but it gets loose everyonce in a while and takes over the stereo "reading". minor problem, will try a different wire.

I ordered this radio to replace the stock radio (CD quit), and wanted something that was easy to operate while driving. Most radios I saw and tried in the local stores were single DIN and lots of cramped tiny buttons. Crutchfield offered this at a very reasonable price, and was able to install it with no problems. My review reflects the JVC disappointment, CD can't read even new CD's. Since this was my main reason to replace my stock radio - well it seems a waste of money and time. The HD was another thing I was looking forwad to enjoying, and turns out reception is weaker than my stock radio - how sad is that! So, what was good or at least acceptable about this Radio... it worked just fine with the supplied connectors to connect to the existing MACH 1000 audio system (no popping), it can match my current dash display color perfectly, it is easy to make selections while driving, IPOD input and the blue tooth adaptor work just fine, the sound is adjustable and acceptable (no better or worse than stock). All in all it was a disapponitment and I guess I got what I paid for at less than $300. If you take my advice keep looking since the only function that works well are the devices you connect to it.

Pros: Easy install, Fancy Colors, Fits perfectly, Works well with other devices.

Cons: FM reception poor, CD's inability to read most of what you give it, expected more from JVC.

This unit is good value for money. I was pleasantly surprised regarding the quality of the HD radio. I was not sure if this was more of a gimmick. I can really hear the difference. The iPod interface is OK, it does easily allow the user to control from the head unit or the iPod. The unit has many sound controls, but the instruction manual does not explain what the settings do. It took me alot of trial and error of playing with settings to get the sub woofer to work, and to make the system sound its best. Also Crutchfield needs to review its database regarding the "01 Escape regarding the availability of Factory radios. To their credit, Crutchfield did send me both possible wire harnesses. The install went fairly smoothly, but you do have to dremel part of your dash away to make the double DIN unit fit. I was a bit unnerved, but the car is a 2001 and the factory radio will never be installed into this vehicle again as the factory replacement was several hundred dollars more than this JVC unit. Overall I am pleased. Better yet my wife is pleased as this is her car. She commented about how "unstatic-y her new radio is.

Pros: Price / double DIN size makes for larger buttons and display / USB on the front of the unit. / HD radio

    Cons: Instruction manual

ok...so the head unit it replaced was a stock 350z unit...which was pure garbage.....BUT...let me just say this if you need FM reception this unit is not for you.....the one and only FM station i listen to in my area has such a strong signal its incredible BUT this unit constantly gives me fuzzy reception with it.....my stock radio was hands down better in this dept. The bass and treble controls are extremely cryptic....extremely. the alpha numeric display doesnt show enough of your ipod playlists and songs. the install instructions were lacking severely...youtube is the best bet. overall...for the price it is a great upgrade...i wanted it for ipod use etc...not the radio. the wiring harness was a breeze....solder and heat shrink it. the trim ring from the install kit is all you need...nothing else. KEEP and READ the manual...otherwise your goose is cooked as far as controls go. if i had to do it again i think i would have gone with a sl upgraded model...BUT....i have an ipod compatible unit now and i'm happy.

Pros: IPOD and AUX inputs large easy to read controls

Cons: Cryptic Controls...difficult to figure out Alpha numeric display too short

It's a nice unit. I haven't bought an aftermarket radio in many years and the refinement in this radio is a pleasant surprise. A little too much "disco dash" display for our taste but I guess that's what the folks are calling coolness factor these days these days.

Pros: It's 1st class and way nicer than the factory supplied AM/FM/CD unit it replaced.

Cons: I'm a yester-tech sort of guy. Give me on/off, volume, balance, tone, function, and channel selection controls with more single function knobs and buttons and I'd be more satisfied. I like a radio that doesn't require a user manual.

This review is specific to the radio. Will rate the other products separately. Installed this system in a couple of hours. It works great. I wanted a replacement radio that had large buttons so they were easy to locate while driving (from experience). Also wanted a large display so it was easy to read at a glance. This radio fit the needs. It works as expected and the sound is clear. Functions are easy to use after reading the instructions and going through the menus a few times. It is a good radio for the price.

Pros: HD Radio, Works with iPhone / iPod (I have an iPod in the car), large screen, easy to navigate menus, default settings, clock on display

Cons: The volume control know is very slick and hard to use with dry hands. I put a black rubber band around the knob and problem solved. Looks like it came that way...

I love the built-in HD radio. Sound is great. However, the FM band has 18 presets but not in three groups of six - rather in one group of 18. And those 18 must be accessed sequentially from 18 backwards or from 1 forwards. That's really dumb. Furthermore if I select a preset HD1 and forward to HD2, the only way to go back to HD1 is sequentially from either 1 or 18. In its defense, however, there are six buttons on the right for direct access to the first six presets. There appear to be little speakers in the front doors in the forward bottom corner of the windows (just inside the mirrors); but once i got access to the adapter plug behind the factory radio I didn't see any wires for those speakers. The point is that I could have easily ordered the six-speaker option, but would have had no wires to connect those small speakers. So I guess a little more up-front info on the ins and outs of connecting (or not) those little speakers would be helpful.

Pros: Installation is prettty easy. About an hour.

Cons: Radio channel selection logic is very poor. Toyota antenna sucks, and there is no after-market one available.

Ok, I'm not going to go thru each rating individually. Let me say that I couldn't be happier with the total package!! My son thanks you for the wiring harness and I thank you for the dash kit and the Axxess steering wheel adapter kit. It went together smoothly and now I can control my ipod with my steering wheel controls (believe it or not, I couldn't do that with the factory radio)! The JVC has everything I wanted - HD radio and ipod controls - and it is really neat looking too! Let me say, thanks Crutchfield, once again you have provided us with everything needed for a professional installation.

Pros: For me, now I can control my ipod with my steering wheel controls. Great looking finished product! I sure don't understand the negative reviews, it went together just fine and works great.

    Cons: None.

I ordered for my girlfriendinsurance for Christmas. I was very cautious about needing something additional because sneaking in the installation was part of the gift. I got online assistance and the only thing they didn't tell me was exactly what tools I would need to put in the stereo... until I opened the install kit recommended with the stereo! Fantastic! Better Than Factory Radio

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The radio is good-to-excellent for the proce. The sound quality is more than sufficient . However, it's too difficult to figure out the radio's features and how to use them. The Owner's Mannual is not well done and that might be the crux of the problem. For example, it has directions on setting the clock but I had to figure out on my own how to get it to display. The colors on the radio constantly change and I haven't yet figured out how to set it to one color; I followed the directions, such that they were, but I'm apprently doing something wrong because it continues rotating colors. Thus, good value radio but not all that user friendly to set up. BTW: What is the "Coolness Factor" in the survey? I assume the colors, which I just complained about, but the colors are not a show-stopper; although "cool" I guess if you like rotating colors. This is a good radio for the price, once I figure out how to use it; it might then be a great radio for the price.

Pros: The radio, all parts and wiring that came with it were perfect. The sound quality is much better than the factory radio. It seems well-built but that will take the test of time to know for sure. A BIG PRO to Crutchfield for a well-priced item, the free wiring and mounting face-plates.

Cons: Not too happy with the Owner's Manual. The programing direcitions are insufficient for someone like me who is not good with setting up electronic toys. Also, if you don't have the proper tools (which I don't), consider that you may have to pay additional installiation costs.

Overall, a very high value radio. Very good sound, options, features and I'm pretty demanding. HD radio is a surprisingly nice feature. Glad I opted for a unit with it. Nice to have a little better fidelity and more station options. I went with Crutchfield because of their customer focus and was not disappointed. They're a great company to do business with.

Pros: Cost, features, sound quality. The installation looks great in my 2007 Mustang GT.

Cons: Installation instructions are cryptic from JVC as well as the adapter manufacturer. (The Crutchfield car specific instructions are good.) Menus and setup are somewhat complex, but worth it once you get it right.

I like the unit a lot overall. But it is a bit confusing when it comes to reading and following the directions for channel program saving. I bought this for my wife's Explorer to replace the factory unit who's CD quit working. My wife likes it and says the sound is much better than factory. I will take her word for it as I rarely ride in her car. With the installation kit the mounting looks as close to a factory unit as I could have hoped for. However the installation kit instructions were a bit ambiguous as I had to remove some of the units outer shell to get it to work with the kit. The instructions never said that and I have not replaced a car stereo since I was young. The Crutchfield folks were very eager to help me when I called with questions about the installation. I called three times and each time they answered immediately and knew the solution. Thank you Crutchfield.

This unit replaces the factory receiver in my 2007 Ford Focus commuter car. Sound quality is definitely better than the OEM receiver. Ordered it for the bluetooth feature and then found that you have to order that feature as an accessory.

Pros: Great looking display, great sound quality from FM and the CD player.

Cons: I dislike the FM tuner memory feature. While you can memorize up to 18 FM stations (the 18 includes any HD) you can only program the first six stations into the hot buttons on the front of the receiver. There is no FM-1, FM-2, FM-3 band feature like the OEM receiver has.

I purchased this JVC receiver several months ago and have been completely satisfied with its performance. After suffering through the inadequacies of my original OEM Nissan stereo for 7 years, I decided it was time for an update. I researched several different brands/models as well as product reviews. I felt this particular model would deliver the features I desired, and I have not been disappointed. This receiver offers tremendous value for the price. I can access music through the radio, CD, smartphone, MP3 player, and USB flash drive. I find the easiest method is through the USB: One handy little flash drive has replaced all my CD's. Playing music from my phone works well, although using the vehicle navigation dock, aux cord, and charging cord can be a bit cumbersome. I appreciate having a remote control as well as custom colorization capability. This receiver does not come with an instruction booklet ; however, it is accessible online and can be downloaded. The only difficulty I encountered was setting up preset radio stations and had to consult the instructions. Having the additional HD stations available is a bonus.

I did not perform the installation myself but instead ordered the kit and took it to a professional installer (who was very appreciative of having the Crutchfield kit as it contained everything needed). I kept my original Nissan speakers as they have proven extremely reliable. They work well with the new receiver with good sound quality.

Pros: Easy to use with lots of features: Remote control, custom colorization, aux input for smartphones and MP3 players, and USB flash drive. Having access to the HD channels offers more variety for listening to local radio stations. The double din sizing results in a very readable display.

Cons: I would have preferred access to more than six preset stations on the actual receiver panel (although they are readily accessible through the remote control). Also, it would've been convenient to have an instruction booklet contained in the box with the receiver instead of having to hunt it down online so I could download and print it.

A great head unit all around. My favorite is the HD tuner. If you're not familiar with HD Radio, when you tune to a station you immediately get the regular analog FM station but within about 5 seconds the HD broadcast takes over and the audio becomes crystal clear - and stays that way. My first experience was a real ear opener; I had just gotten the radio installed and tuned into my favorite station which generally has mediocre reception - with constant static and little blips and chirps. This day was particularly bad but within 5 seconds - crystal clear. It was AWESOME.

Pros: Great sound; Easy to use controls and audio selections but...

Cons: the menus are somewhat hard to navigate - I just found the balance and fader the other day after giving up. But once set, I hardly go in there at all.

Installed this unit on a 2006 Nissan Frontier. Installation was relatively easy thanks to Crutchfield (I bought another unit from some other place and they not helpful).I have some Kenwoods previously and I did love them in my last truck. But since my dad bought an older version of the JVC unit I was like why not and bought this. Good choice I made! I paired these up with some JBL GTO938 for my front two speakers and man do these rock! I don't have an amp to drive them up all the way up to the speakers potential (300 W) but these sound amazing with this stereo unit! With the stock stereo unit my speakers were better than stock speakers but not that much better. When I installed this unit those speakers really came life! The HD radio does make a difference when I am driving through Atlanta were they have many different stations. Overall this is a great unit at a great price (for a Double Din). Also I have no troubles viewing the display when sun is shining on it.

This is a premium unit, with all the features and ability to control/customize that you could ask for in a straight-ahead car stereo. It has an abundance of features, and you can dial in the exact sound you want. The ability to change/mix the display colors allows you to match the display lighting in the vehicle, or go off in an entirely different direction, with literally hundreds of custom setting combinations. It gives you total control over the sound and look of the unit. It has plenty of power, especially if you use a remote sub and amp, and use the unit to power just the upper bass, mid, and treble frequencys. This is the second one I have purchased from Crutchfield in the past year; I had to let the first one go when I traded the vehicle. I was so impressed with the first one, I bought the same unit again to replace the factory radio in the vehicle I just purchased. It is Bluetooth-capable, and has inputs on rear and front for usb/i-pod use. The unit is OnStar capable with the correct adapter. A solid, well built, easy to use unit.

Pros: Well made, easy to install, easy to use, plenty of power, attractive face and display. Tailoring the sound and apprearance to your liking is simple and straightforward. A joy to use and own.

Cons: Display shows one funtion at a time, such as time, station, ect. Would be nice if it had speed-compensated auto-volume control, as was in factory radio.

This unit is a great after market replacement. My original radio for my 1995 Toy Truck was just worn out (knobs falling off!!) and I didn't use the cassette deck anymore ;)

Pros: Ease of install, ipod accessory inputs

Cons: takes a little getting used to the navigation through the menus

I have had a few used cars over the last few years, and in each I put a new HD radio deck to make those miles much nicer. Of all the radio deck I have had this one outshines the rest. That's older JVC Single DIN, Dual and a totally horrible Pioneer deck. It's comparatively easy to use, the blend from a weak HD to standard AM/FM is nearly flawless - a rather weak point with many units. This is the first time I have every plugged my iPod into the front of a car stereo and not had that manufacturer take a great easy to sue product and make it unworkable. This unit is a joy to work with with any digital input. One minor problem I found is that the FM tuner will not tune down to 87.7, where my favorite station is (Q 87.7 Chicago). Not to worry, it's also on 101.1 HD3. Had it not been rebroadcast there, it might have been a show stopper for me.

Pros: Best HD performance in a budget stereo, flawless failover from digital HD1 to analog.

Cons: Took a while to find the display change button, it's up near the CD player slot where you might usually find an eject button.

    Love it!!

This unit is a definite upgrade over the factory unit that was in my Silverado. The audio quality is very impressive, especially the HD radio. Install was a snap with the Crutchfield instructions, mounting kit and wiring harness. It looks great installed. I was even able to use the rear auxiliary input for my satellite radio, so I don't have any cables hanging off the unit...looks much cleaner. Only downfall for GM owners, is that you have to buy the GM wiring harness with the integrated door chimes module. Crutchfield does not include this one for free like they do most others. They did discount the price quite a bit though, so I still think it was a good deal. Also, the chimes on this unit are extremely loud, so I would recommend turning the speaker away from you or using some kind of dampening material (foam, etc.).

Pros: Sounds good, looks great, HD radio, front/rear auxiliary inputs, USB connection for IPod, and so many more.

Cons: Having to purchase GM wiring harness

This radio is so much better then the stock radio that was in my girlfriends car (2005 scion XB). the instructions that came with the unit were very detailed and it was so easy to install. I am very please with the customer service I received from crutchfield. I did find only one mistake on their website. They claimed that the sub outputs for this radio do not work but they do. I almost didnt buy this radio because of that reason but i figured i would have used another set of the rca inputs for the subs. I would recommend this radio to anyone. It was a great price and works excellent, and it looks alot better then the stock radio that was in her car.

Installed this unit today in a 2004 Toyota 4Runner Limited. It fit like a glove with the Crutchfield-supplied installation kit. Looks factory installed! Sound quality is fantastic and a lot better than the JBL Synthesis unit it replaced. Wiring harness was spot-on and easy to install with no problems. Menu is a bit awkward, but once various items are set I'll probably never need to change them. One glaring omission on JVC's part is that my iPod does not charge when connected to the radio. Another great feature is the flexibility of the lighting. I was able to perfectly duplicate the same yellow color as the rest of the instrumentation, making it look even more like a factory install. All-in-all, I couldn't be happier.

    Pros: Plenty!

Cons: iPod does not charge when connected to radio. Menu is a bit awkward.

I wanted something to charge/control my ipone with and an aux plug to plug my Sirius radio into. This does the job perfect. I love that I can control my ipod from the steering wheel while driving. I can get HD radio out here in rural Virginia! The color changes are pretty cool too, but was not a necessity. Overall, great sound, good deal for the $, and I have always had good experiences with JVC

The unit was very easy to install in my 99 Miata, made easier by the Crutchfield packet of installation tips. The wire harness colors in the unit and the one provided by Crutchfield were the same, making soldering easy. The unit sound exceptionally good - I also replaced the original BOSE speakers - and powerful. The button sequencing is not intuitive (but I am over 65) however the basics are easy. It works easily with my IPod Touch. Love the HD Radio. Lots of opportunity to make minor changes in colors, equilizers, and input. Overall, this is a very good value for money, easy to install. Overall a great receiver for the money. I replaced the stock stereo in my 06 Tacoma 4WD. Having a background in auto mechanics the install was super easy. I added two amps, one subwoofer and one 4 channel. The pre-amp outs made running the cables easy and pain free. Subwoofer controls, EQ and EQ presets made fine tuning the system a breeze. the rolling color flow in the display is a bit annoying, but changing day/night colors is cool. ipod controls work great , although the receiver had trouble recognizing the ipod on just a handful of occasions. unplugging and replugging the USB connector on the front of the receiver did the trick

    Pros: easy install,

Cons: controls can be a bit cumbersome , but after the learning curve is out of the way the menu's are easy to navigate.

Bought this when the factory stereo in my van died. Installed the unit about 2 weeks ago and setup went very quickly. Lots of user-definable options I'm still playing with. I love the USB outlet in the front in which I've plugged a mini flash 16GB flash drive which holds virtually my entire music library. Now I don't even need to connect my iPod (but still could if I wanted to.) When I first turned the stereo on and played a CD I was knocked over by the great sound. Wow, my factory stereo never sounded this good! Only downside is that as other reviewers have stated, the tuner isn't very strong and some local FM stations are a bit "fuzzy" when they were crystal clear with my factory stereo. And I can't get anything on AM, even though there are at least 2 very strong, AM stations 10 miles away. If you listen to the radio a lot, especially while traveling, you may want to look for a different unit. If you listen to mostly recordings (CD, iPod, MP3s) like me, then this unit is a winner.

Pros: Lots of connection options for iPods, MP3 players, Flash drives. Lots of user definable options, like EQ and colors.

Cons: Poor radio reception on FM and nothing on AM band

As someone who has dealt with the stock radio from an '02 Explorer for 10 years, this radio is a GIANT step up. I love almost everything about it (see below), and it was a breeze to install thanks to the additional materials that Crutchfield furnished.

Pros: Everything. The HD Radio, the USB port, all the other stuff that I haven't had for the past 10 years. It's all wonderful

Cons: Only one -- as far as I can tell, the clock does not display when the radio is off. I wish it did.

Installed on my 05' corolla and looks great. Took a while to get it done but the result was worth it. I use it mainly to plug in my iPod with the extra amp to speakers, but the extra 31 different light has been a charm. Matches the color of my under dash lights and since it' s double din, it looks very professional with no pocket hole In the middle of the dash. Well worth the money and will definitely buy with the extra supply and help from Crutchfield.

I really like this receiver. It was easy to install and it's easy to operate. Sound quality is excellent and the "light show" is pretty cool. It was easy to program and easy to use. The remote is "cute" but not sure how useful it is. I threw it in the glovebox just in case someone in the car wants to mess with it. I have a convertible and the display can be hard to see sometimes.

Pros: USB port for songs on a memory stick; large controls are easy to work while driving; easy installation

Cons: Songs on memory stick are difficult to select. Since there can be 350 songs on a stick, you might have to push the selector 100 times to get to a specific song. Hard to see the display in the sunlight. Remote doesn't seem too useful.

Bought this to replace the factory unit in my 2004 4runner, mainly for the iPod control. The unit works really well with my iPhone and using the aux port, I can also stream Pandora/Spotify through the unit-- this isn't supported natively through the USB interface. The controls were not very thought out. If I want to adjust the balance, fader, loudness, etc, I have to navigate through several menus to do so. This is not easy while driving. However, the button to change the color of the display is front and center. This seems a bit backwards to me, as I would adjust those colors once, and leave it. I'd rather be able to toggle loudness with a front panel button, and more easily adjust the fader/balance.

The unit puts out plenty of power. I had planned on replacing the factory speakers, but they sound so much better with this receiver that I decided to keep my factory speakers for the time being.

Pros: cheap! works well with iPhone plenty of power

Cons: the most poorly thought out controls I've ever seen in a tuner.

This is an impressive double DIN for the price. It was a perfect upgrade from factory to increase power output, add USB and aux input (I still own a 20GB iRiver mp3 player - so I needed aux), HD radio, and can change illumination to match console lighting. It resembles many factory head units so it isn't obvious that it is an aftermarket stereo, thus keeping the thieves at bay.

This is a very good stereo for the price, the sound is much better than the factory Ford Mach stereo in my 02 Mustang, The install kit did require a little extra modification on the back to secure radio to the rail but this was no major issue. This unit looks like it came with the car from the factory and the support you get from Crutchfield makes this a very good buy. I had to call the support line while installing my unit and they answered very quickly and solved my issue in less than three minutes. These guys know radios!!.. I would not recommend buying this or any other unit from some other company. I'm a big fan of Crutchfield now and a customer for life.

Pros: I enjoy the colors that are available to choose from to either match my other interior lights or just let it change at radium, and the HD radio sounds great.

Cons: There are allot of settings imbedded that takes some time to figure out, and i would like to have the time showing with the station at the same time.
