An entertainment powerhouse

Choose a source, choose a display color, choose an app — the JVC KW-R910BT gives you all the entertainment options you expect, and more. The symmetrical design looks terrific, while a host of connectivity features make this CD receiver an outstanding travel companion.

With built-in Bluetooth® and a variety of inputs, the KW-R910BT lets you access your digital media in a variety of ways. Play music from your iPhone®, Android™ or music player, or choose from JVC's ever-growing list of compatible apps. You can also plug a thumb drive into the front USB port, hook up your MP3 player to the front AUX input, or pop in a CD.

Awesome with your iPhone®

Once you plug your iPod or iPhone into the USB input, you can use the KW-R910BT's oversized knob and buttons to navigate your entire music library. With your iPhone connected, you can play your Pandora® Internet Radio stations through the receiver, and even skip and rate songs like you do online. The powerful USB port will keep your smartphone charged, even when it's doing several tasks at once.

Of course, you don't have to plug in at all if your iPhone is equipped with Siri® Eyes Free functionality. Just link up and enjoy hands-free control.

This sophisticated receiver also lets you pair two phones at once, so there's no need to choose between your personal and business phones. When a call comes in, the receiver will blink either blue or red, so you'll know at a glance how (or whether!) to answer the call. To answer, just tap the volume knob. And you can search your contacts alphabetically when you want to call someone.

JVC KW-R910BT CD Receiver

Customize your receiver's appearance with the 3-zone variable color display.

Design your display

If you like your display to look a certain way, you'll love the 3-zone Variable-Color Display. You can choose from over 30,000 options, and even assign three different colors to your controls and the display. Choose your three favorite colors, or make your JVC pay tribute to your favorite sports team – the choice is yours. And if you can't decide, let the receiver cycle through all the colors continually. It's actually a very cool effect!

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (see "Accessories") to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

My wife purchased this for me and i was a little apprehensive. I was so wrong. Installation took a total of less than an hour. Setup was a little longer. Other reviewers are correct that the initial usage isn't quite intuitive but it's not hard to figure out and once you do it's just as easy as factory. I installed it into a 2003 Chevy venture without any additional equipment such as steering wheel controls or back up cameras. I really thought I was going to have to replace the factory speakers because before the new head unit, they sounded almost blown and just terrible. After the new head unit, the factory speakers are 1000 times better. Still probably going to replace them for better quality sound but overall doable for now. I almost didn't even install the mic because i know most bluetooth stereos sound absolutely horrible on the other end. This one gives enough controls that my wife says it sounds as good, or better then my LG headset bluetooth. So functionally it is a sound quality unit that i'm even debating on replacing in my wife car.

The bells and whistles of this otherwise basic model are what sets it apart. Not only do you have color control, you have full control over the levels of blue, red, and green in the colors you choose. Bluetooth audio and pandora allow me to listen to my music and keep my phone charged without the static from a line in and aux power jack situation.

Final thoughts, probably the best unit out there if you don't need built in nav or

Pros: Color change with full control, ease of set-up and install. Also changes colors from day to night. Pandora works like a dream, iPhone music works great. Bluetooth calling sounds much better than anticipated. So many options you can truly make it your own.

Cons: Remote is a little tiny with not as many functions as i would like. Not as intuitive as I would like so you actually have to think while you set it up but once you do it's awesome.

Great head unit for the money, makes the stock speakers sound better than stock even if the speakers are stock. I had this unit in an acura rsx and i had no complaints about the unit until about two weeks after owning it the bluetooth stopped connecting to my iphone. i couldn't ever figure out what happened but the entire year I owned it i never could get it to work again. But other than that it is a very good unit

Pros: ease of use while driving, good color customization, good dash fit

The install was easy. Instructions for the install were complete and left no guess work. The installed receiver looks great and fits great. I gave 4 stars on the Ease of Use because there's a small learning curve for the new receivers. Most of it is intuitively obvious.

Pros: Great price. Plenty of options including blue tooth.

Have now had this radio installed for about a month--a big improvement over the factory unit (2010 Toyota Yaris). Sound quality is great and the bluetooth works just fine, including the phone and the remote microphone. The wiring harness that was supplied worked perfectly, too (I took the time to solder the connections and protect them with shrink-tubing).

Install was easy, with one minor complaint: The face of the unit sticks out about 1/4 inch further than the factory radio. This leaves a small gap between some of the car trim pieces. Not a big deal, and it looks okay. It's just not a perfect fit.

Finally, as others have noted, the control menus for brightness, color, equalizer, etc. are not very intuitive. With patience and constant checking of the manual you can eventually get where you need to go and make the changes you want to make. Shouldn't be that hard.

Pros: Good sound. Bluetooth connects easily with phone and works quite well.

Cons: Not a perfect fit. Menu sequence is confusing.

This is more of a comment on Crutchfield: The installation instructions provided for a 2005 Honda Pilot with Navigation do not actually apply to that car. They only have the ones for the standard non-Navigation system. I have yet to install it, but I'm sure I can find ones online. It would have been nice to have "real" ones.

Not as good as the older models

Written by: Fred from Lansing, MI on January 20, 2016

I used to have an old JVC model and I loved it. For some reason this model will not retain the hours for the clock. I have it wired correctly because the minutes always stay accurate, but the hours will not stay on time. Also, for those in colder climates, you might want to consider getting something else as this radio acts sluggish when below freezing. Also, another complaint that I have is that this radios volume settings are not very adjustable. I'm not saying it's deafening, just annoyingly loud. Even on 1 the radio seems super loud to me. When I have people in the car and we are talking I almost have to turn the radio off because even when the radio is on the lowest setting it is too loud. It isn't bad at highway speeds (because of road noise) but for city driving it isn't as adjustable as I'd like. Another complaint that I have is the JVC app. I couldn't figure out how to use it with my radio. Other than these complaints, this radio does everything that was advertised. The sound quality is great and it has a lot of great features. I just wish that the few things I complained about were better. JVC makes good stuff, I'm just not sure why this one has so many problems.

Pros: Great sound quality Lots of features Color customization Has a pretty good "night" setting

Cons: Clock will not retain hour time (only retains minutes) Sluggish when used below freezing Volume is either loud or off App is hard to figure out

Bought this unit to replace a poor quality aftermarket unit in my mustang. It's a much more quality unit than others that I looked at and reviewed. Install was simple and finished product was major upgrade. Even though the unit is not a newer model it performs just as well and maybe better than some of the more expensive models. The only 2 drawbacks that I have found are 1 ) the remote control is too small , hard to find while driving and 2) wish it had a build in mic for the phone bluetooth, even though it's a wired mic still looks and performs very well.

Pros: easy install controls are simple to use looks great in the dash

Cons: wired mic for phone bluetooth remote control is on the small side

While the unit met all of my expectations, I really want to say that the customer support I received from Crutchfield sales and technical support staff have made me a customer for life. I ordered the wrong adapter and called customer support. They quickly found the problem and shipped me the correct one and a label for free return of my old one. Once I got the new unit installed, I had some initialization issues and called tech support. This was Saturday and I got through immediately to a tech that knew his stuff and quickly resolved my issue.

Overall, I like this unit. There are lots of features and adjust-ability on receiver. I like the fact that you can change the colors. Day/Night changes with the headlights is very nice. Would be nice if you could set EQ presets with certain radio stations...if you can, I haven't figured that out. Microphone quality seems to be good and callers I've spoken to say I'm coming thru loud and clear. I'm not that familiar with all the various other receivers out there so I can't really say this one is better or worse, but it certainly has the features I was looking for and I'm glad I purchased it.

    Pros: blue-tooth audio/pandora/iHeart

    Cons: none to speak of.

Shipping was fast and Crutchfield was awesome to work with. Install was a breeze and learning how to use the stereo was not bad at all. Bluetooth works perfectly and the sound is just as good if not better than mt old Kenwood I had. I was going to go with another Kenwood, but the price on this unit I just couldn't pass it up. I am so happy that I bought this JVC. The little remote is silly as it needs a better and bigger remote. However, I have no need for it so it's not a big deal. I do wish it had a better parametric EQ than just a three band EQ. Still, the presets are great and my system sounds awesome. I have a Android LG phone and setting it up was easy.

    Pros: Pretty much everything

Cons: Little remote that doesn't do much but works.

Not disappointed at all with this purchase. Still figuring out all the features that this is loaded with but the sound is great especially from iPhone. Huge improvement to plug it in with USB so it will charge while you listen versus the fm modulation I was doing before. Cd sound also good. I read complaints about fm radio reception but I've had no issues. Only had this for a couple days but VERY happy with my purchase. I had never bought from Crutchfield before but would definitely do it again. Their chat support when I was buying and their instructions were very helpful and made install easy.

Pros: The ability to simultaneously connect to two BT phones at the same time is great, especially with the fact that it flashes different colors depending on which phone is receiving a call. I wish my wife's Nissan factory radio would do that!

    Cons: None noted.

Nice Stereo for the money. Has all the features you would need. Hands-free audio and Bluetooth work very well. The various settings can get a bit confusing because there's so many options. Sound quality is good, even with factory speakers. Good bang for your buck, good radio, but it is by no means great.

    Pros: Features, Hands-free/Bluetooth quality.

Cons: Over complication of settings, overall sound quality could be better

I've ordered from Crutchfield for many years and the recent order was terrible. No more step by step instructions but a generic guide with one drawing that didn't even look like our vehicle. The unit fit but we had to cut and modify the car, all of this was not indicated by anything Crutchfield sent us. Two trips to the store for parts to get it to fit. Still not there but we hope today in 32 degree weather we can finish it. This is going in my son's first car so my oldest son and I will have to finish it. I order from Crutchfield for the parts needed and the instructions that go with what we order. The extra cost makes it worth it. Well that ended this time. I can save 25.00 to 30.00 and order somewhere else. As far as helpful instructions and pictures and parts, seems Crutchfield no longer does that.

Pros: I gave it 2 stars because JVC makes really good stereos, but order somewhere else.

Cons: Cost more and you no longer get the help you should be paying for.

I have to start by saying I've been a long time pioneer guy. But the Great price and lots of features had me stray to try this. I replaced my old outdated business cd radio in my e39 bmw. What an upgrade. Sound quality is crisp and clean. Bluetooth capability is awesome. I now have hands free calling. I can stream my playlist through the iPhone iPod wirelessly. Or any other audio app like Pandora or I heart. Love this radio for the money. Has a nice coolness factor. And with all the free install gear and lifetime tech support its a definite buy in my book. A+ Crutchfield. I love this company. Excellent customer service. Super fast free shipping. What a value! Install was pretty straight forward with the MasterSheet. Had this in in less than an hour. If you're thinking about this purchase. Don't hesitate. Pull, the trigger. You won't regret it.

Pros: Bluetooth streaming capability. Hands free phone. Build quality. Coolness.

No complaints.

Over all this radio is awesome, if you are going to listen to CD, IPOD, USB, Smart Phone. Radio reception is absolutely horrible. 9.3db is good sensitivity for FM reception but someone was wrong about this number. Id say more like 19.3db. Very disappointed in this radio. Ordered a complete system from Crutchfield about a month ago. Installed it in my wifes hummer. Their Tech was very helpful over the phone! He assured me I got all of the parts I needed to replace stereo and all the speakers. He was right. the kits they sent were so easy to install. Ive done many stereos and speakers before, and always is a pain in the butt installing without custom parts. The speakers in the doors sound amazing, and the stereo rocks it out as well. My wife was very pleased with her early xmas gift! She absolutely loves the sound and display of this unit.

After buying a used vehicle with an old radio that did not work, I picked this unit because of the features, price, and previous experience with other JVC products.

Pros: Features include: CD player, AM/FM Radio, Multiple Color Display, Bluetooth connectivity, Microphone for hands-free calling capability, remote control, AUX in and USB connections on the front of the device, Pandora and iPod controls. Easy installation was made possible by simple yet accurate instructions included with the unit.

Install: Well its been over 30 years since i've installed a car radio. When I saw that Crutchfield got rave reviews for customer service i jumped on the band wagon. When I received the unit a few days after the order, I was a bit taken back by the wiring harness. I had thought that by purchasing a custom harness for a 2004 Chevy Malibu, that it would all be plug & play. there however were wires to solder coming out of the radio to the harness. There was an adapter to plug into the old plug that went to the old radio. Not as bad as it sounds. Most of the wires matched up perfectly color to color from radio to harness. I did have a few questions. I read (mistake) the JVC manual which stated that the yellow wire should be capped off, so i was confused, also there were two greens-one marked option 1(no clue). a quick call to Crutchfield answered my questions. attached the non option 1 green- turned out that was a steering wheel option. And attached the yellow. The instruction booklets were pretty useless as far as installation goes. They were detailed as far as removing the old radio. I had already done that from Youtube vids. Installation was pretty intuitive. The unit fit perfectly. Radio Usage: The radio fired up at least for me in demo mode. What that means is that the lights keep changing- looks like it shorted out, but didnt. Pandora stream-Great- Cd perfect. Hands free calling & answering-perfect. Have to get used to voice call-you speak into phone-not radio.

Pros: Pandora stream, looks cool, voice dialing auto answering.

    Cons: Haven't found any yet.

I bought this for my 2005 350Z. This was my first purchase from Crutchfield, and definitely won't be my last. The included installation instructions and parts made the setup relatively easy for someone with zero experience. Navigating through the settings using the beautiful shiny knob is intuitive enough that you don't really even need to read the manual (although I recommend that you do). There are plenty of color options for the three independently colors zones. The lights dim slightly when the headlights are turned on for nighttime driving. Several options for audio inputs ensures accessibility. Skipping during a song played through a Bluetooth connection is rare, but it has happened (usually just after the connection is made). For those on a budget, I'd highly recommend this product, especially around Black Friday!

This is an amazing deck for the price. The sound and clarity is very good, it is packed with features. I didn't want to spend a lot of money as I was installing this in a work truck so a major part of my decision was price. I am sorry I didn't purchase this a year ago. This deck was less than the price of the ticket I had to pay for talking on the cell phone. I really didn't expect a lot for the cost of the deck, it sounds good, it looks good and the bluetooth phone feature is very good. When making phone calls you can hear great and the sound quality for the person you are speaking with is very clear. This unit's performance exceeds all of my expectations.

Works like a $1000 bucks and i'm very stubborn when it comes to sound quality. I was overly impressed. Granted it takes getting accustomed to the functions of the radio, but I love what it can do and the quality of the sound. Bluetooth works as it should, although it does takes a little long to connect initially when you FIRST get in the car. I'm talking 10 -15 seconds compared to instantly, therefore its tolerable. When i play pandora through my phone, once in a blue moon i have to select the item my bluetooth should connet to through my phone. All in all it was a very simple install, a great great product. After my trusty JVC KD-A815 died, I replaced it with this unit. The double din size was a cleaner install in my 2005 Nissan Frontier, but the unit really falls short of being as functional as the unit it replaced. I am accustomed to having all of my music on one 32 gig thumb drive, plugging it into the rear USB port on the KD-A815, and then scrolling through my album collection alphabetically. After exhaustive study (and I have a Masters Degree), the software on this unit is so poor, it will only list the 400+ albums on my thumb drive from 1-400+. And, it will only do so one arrow click at a time. I say this with all sincerity, I will probably trash this stereo. This unit is so clumsy, its dangerous.

Pros: Lots of fancy disco lights you don't need. Lots of ways to connect your phone wirelessly, or with the more distracting USB wire. When you finish looking at the road, look at the dash for a while. Then follow the cord down to your phone so you can manage your music. I find this concept absurd. One person can't stay in the car, while the other takes the phone to do.....whatever. I can't believe Crutchfield sold me this stereo. I'm so disappointed.

Cons: The readout panel on this unit is terrible. The letters are large enough, but the display is so cheat it usually truncates portions of characters or entire characters. This includes names of songs and song numbers. I don't need the radio options. I'm a progressive rocker. What is Pandora going to do for me. And, again I have to connect my phone - and probably an expensive phone. I like my thumb drive. I take it out every couple of months to update the music. Otherwise, it stays in my truck.

For the price and purpose it's worth to buy.

Pros: Easy install. Easy setup. Looks nice.

Cons: Volume knob seems a bit feeble and has the potential to break off if not treated gingerly.

Great Stereo, good sound. It took some configuring to get everything sounding the way it should. My only complaint is that I can't leave those settings in place when switching between different devices like phone, to radio, to bluetooth. The output quality changes and those settings need to be modified to produce good quality again.

Pros: Looks sounds ease of use

Cons: have to change settings for different inputs each time

This product is very easy to install. Took me a rookie an hour and a half from start to finish. Install instructions are great which is why I only buy from crutchfield. It is very affordable for what you get. LED lights are awesome. Sound quality is far better than my factory. Bluetooth works just as good as my 2014 Ford Flex. I make work calls more now than before.

Pros: Easy install. Looks great, sounds better, priced excellent

over all this is a superb value all the bling for a fraction of the cost since this was price oriented purchase and a short term fix for a short term problem i could not be more impressed with the accessible usb aux bluetooth paring and over wow of this inexpensive head unit.

Pros: has all the bells and whistles without the huge sticker price and since i dont spend hours in my ride this is a perfect fix to manufacture installed units. easy to install easy to operate classy look smooth operator

Cons: nothing to do with the system was purchased for my rsx but totaled it the day after I ordered the head unit... but to my surprise it would work with santa fe and Crutchfield was cool enough to send me the accessories and trim to fit that vechile saved me from sending this awesome head unit back for a refund

I thought the sound system on my Honda Element was a great one with the seven speaker w/woofer system until this head unit was installed. Simply amazing sound coming from what I considered more than adequate prior to installation. Other retailers had a three hour estimate for installation. The installer was impressed with 75 minute install and 15 minute system guidance training he spent with me. He credited in part to the inclusion of the proper connection parts. Only issue was the output converter wasn't needed for the install.

Pros: Sound output - terrific! Color face controls great. Daytime lighting excellent. Auto switch to night lighting, perfection. Install time was amazing. Arrived at 2:30 and back on the street by 4:00!

Cons: Learning curve for functions was a bit steep but I'm an Apple guy and we're spoiled rotten. Only thing that could be better would be an Apple head unit! Another 25 cents spent by JVC for a higher quality instruction manual would make the quality of their product shine!

    Great product!

Great fit in my 2003 Honda CR-V. Radio used the existing brackets for the original stereo. Dimmer works with the metera harness I received. Sounds great with stock speakers. Not sure if it is playing to the tweaters or I don't have tweaters. Clearly seen during the day, and good dimming (adjustable) at night.

Pros: Dimmer function Good built-in amp BT compatibility

Cons: Awkward menu system (read the manual)

I can't rate on several factors. I have yet to get the radio installed. It was a priority when I thought the installation kit would make installation a breeze but the kit has proved incompatible with the existing wiring in my Miata. A previous owner had swapped from a premium to a base radio. There is no wiring adapter for the premium radio, I have to make my own wiring harness. I haven't had time to do this yet. Things went very well until this snag. Crutchfield Customer Service has been very helpful in identifying the problem.

I bought this to replace the defective stock stereo. The installation was made easy with the kit that Crutchfield sold with it. The stereo is just what other reviews had stated...very good sound with a new look that fit right into the old car. I think the sound is great and I am able to crank it to as loud as I would like. It does take a little getting use to the setup menus, but even that is pretty "standard" once you do it time and again. I would recommend this stereo to anyone wanting to replace an existing stereo in an older older car.

Pros: 1. Easy to install 2. Sounds great 3. Modern features for a old car

Cons: 1. Cannot search for specific songs with the USB port 2. Setup takes a little getting use to with all those features

Got this unit to replace the CD/Cassette factory unit in our Forester. It's perfect for commuting...easy hands-free operation with my iPhone 5s. The microphone picks up all voice commands accurately. The unit has plenty of power to drive a 6" pair of JVC speakers and a 4" pair of Kickers. I also added an 8" powered subwoofer that gets the bass on par with everything else and was easily plugged in to the rca connections at the back of the unit. The instructions from Crutchfield were clear and completely specific to my car! Easy install even though I've never done one before, fun project!

Pros: Sounds great, connectivity is great...Bluetooth works well, and the USB connection adds a notch to the sound quality, keeping all the functionality intact.

Cons: There's nothing I don't like with the unit!

My daily driver is a 1995 Nissan Maxima with a power antenna. This Head Unit was purchased to replace a Sony Multi disc player (no longer made) that quit playing. I found this install to be problematic even with excellent support from Crutchfield. The wiring harness (confusing to begin with) had no capability of bypassing the power antenna when the Tuner wasn't in use. Also, the product demonstration (although capable of being shut off) was Terrible-flashing lights and generally annoying. The Display feature never seemed to work properly. I found the unit way too bright in the early morning, & way to dark in the sunlight, I never was able to adjust the dimmer properly & found the display had 4 different zones that were adjustable. The unit also comes with a Remote?? for what? I would have preferred an AUX cord.

    Pros: BT, Padora

Cons: Wiring harness, no power antenna bypass, Remote

Nice radio but the display options are not that great. Yo can't see a clock unless that's all you want to see. If your using a ipod than it doesn't scroll through the artist and title it's one or the other. I have a JVC that is just set up better on the menu options and the display screen that I got for the same price a few years ago.

Great HU! Can't beat the price. It's loaded with all the functions you need minus the DVD/GPS.

Pros: Cheap, easily match the stock illumination color, seamless use of Pandora, Bluetooth, USB and even iheartradio. Strong tuner.

Cons: If I had to knit pick something. I would say a rear USB port would be nice.
