An entertainment powerhouse

Choose a source, choose a display color, choose an app — the JVC KW-R910BT gives you all the entertainment options you expect, and more. The symmetrical design looks terrific, while a host of connectivity features make this CD receiver an outstanding travel companion.

With built-in Bluetooth® and a variety of inputs, the KW-R910BT lets you access your digital media in a variety of ways. Play music from your iPhone®, Android™ or music player, or choose from JVC's ever-growing list of compatible apps. You can also plug a thumb drive into the front USB port, hook up your MP3 player to the front AUX input, or pop in a CD.

Awesome with your iPhone®

Once you plug your iPod or iPhone into the USB input, you can use the KW-R910BT's oversized knob and buttons to navigate your entire music library. With your iPhone connected, you can play your Pandora® Internet Radio stations through the receiver, and even skip and rate songs like you do online. The powerful USB port will keep your smartphone charged, even when it's doing several tasks at once.

Of course, you don't have to plug in at all if your iPhone is equipped with Siri® Eyes Free functionality. Just link up and enjoy hands-free control.

This sophisticated receiver also lets you pair two phones at once, so there's no need to choose between your personal and business phones. When a call comes in, the receiver will blink either blue or red, so you'll know at a glance how (or whether!) to answer the call. To answer, just tap the volume knob. And you can search your contacts alphabetically when you want to call someone.

JVC KW-R910BT CD Receiver

Customize your receiver's appearance with the 3-zone variable color display.

Design your display

If you like your display to look a certain way, you'll love the 3-zone Variable-Color Display. You can choose from over 30,000 options, and even assign three different colors to your controls and the display. Choose your three favorite colors, or make your JVC pay tribute to your favorite sports team – the choice is yours. And if you can't decide, let the receiver cycle through all the colors continually. It's actually a very cool effect!

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (see "Accessories") to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

I have had this CD receiver for less than two weeks and will update my review when I have had a chance to explore more of the functionality. Thus far, I have not used Bluetooth or the USB & AUX jacks. FM reception and sound is excellent and the CD player works great. There are a tremendous number of sound, EQ and display settings. It can actually be a little daunting, but with some time to fiddle, this unit gets dialed in nicely and looks really cool. If you like color, you will LOVE this receiver. If you are the simple type, it may be a little too "disco" for you. This double DIN deck slid neatly into my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. Installation was a breeze and Crutchfield's instructions, DIY kit and phone Tech support is off the charts amazing. I really can't say enough about Crutchfield's Customer Service. NOBODY does it better. I called a few times with questions about the speaker installation (separate review). I always had a live tech immediately. No automated answering system. I don't think the phone ever rang more than twice. Almost unheard of these days! In any case, the unit performs very well - especially for the price paid. I see there is a new model of this unit which, I assume, behaves very similarly. Buy with confidence!

Pros: Beautiful, "razzle dazzle" customizable color display. Very good sound. Plenty of customization. Multiple inputs and connection options (though I have not tested Bluetooth, USB or AUX yet). easy display. Crutchfield's best in class service and support.

Cons: So many customization options, it can be a little daunting.

The unit looks great and my daughter enjoys the sound. It was easy to put in and the mic for the bluetooth was simpler than I anticipated to attach and mount. The sound from the bluetooth mic my wife said was crystal clear. You are also able to adjust the mic settings to amplify it's ability to communicate better while driving. All in all it's a nice stereo and won't break the bank. It took me about 1-2 hours to install completely.

IMO. Buy new. Do not buy scratch n dent. Mine was clearly a returned unit that was used for a while and still had dirt from normal usage as well as the MANY marks and scratches from being used for awhile. I haven't installed it yet, so my review is solely on the appearance when i opened the box. I immediately expected a bad surprise when I opened the main box. This was because the head units box look like it had done a tour in Iraq. Oh well. The $20 I tried to save was the cost of this lesson learned.

Pros: The fit, operation, and sound are great. Hands free Bluetooth phone operation is good.

Cons: Had a little trouble with the wiring. There is a blue power antenna wire that must be connected to get good reception. I called Crutchfield help line and they let me know my error, and I fixed it straight away.

This thing is pretty cool. I especially like three color zones and changing light options. I haven't played around with the Pandora or IHeart Radio modes yet. I have done plenty of Bluetooth streaming however. It works effortlessly, and isn't anywhere are slow as people have said. As soon as I get in my car, it takes about 5 seconds to automatically connect, then I'm in business. If you are watching online videos through the stereo, there is an almost 2 second delay from what you are watching to what you are hearing. So it will be out of sync. The remote is tiny, its about the size of my thumb, which makes using it hard, but it is a nice addition. I did not connect the bluetooth mic, I just don't see myself using that very often. Caution: If you have a 7th Generation Honda Accord, and you plan on installing this stereo in the cubby underneath the stock stereo... you will need an FM antenna extension cable. Even after removing all the clips and fully extending your FM antenna, it will be about an inch and a half too short.

Great unit! This is my first double din and I have to say, I love it more than any single din unit. My only dislike is that if you connect an ipod through a USB cable you'll only be able to control it from the headunit, which takes forever if you have 70gb like I do. The microphone is great, my car is open turbo downpipe and obnoxiously loud, and everyone says they can hear me just fine windows up or down. My second JVC unit and I will continue to purchase JVC!! Thanks Crutchfield!

Pros: Microphone is great! Color shifting JVC quality

Cons: Ipod control through unit Autoscan didn't pick up local stations well, had to set myself

I am very pleasantly surprised with how well this stereo sounds for the price I paid! It has the features I wanted (CD, USB port & Pandora) though I wasn't thrilled with how the Bluetooth would have to be hooked up with a wire showing so I didn't even bother and just continued to hook into the radio using my visor wireless bluetooth. Other than that, everything else was great! Some of the settings will take time to remember how to get to (the personal USER settings for the equilizer still require me to look it up in the manual but I'm sure I'll remember over time. I would recommend this inexpensive stereo to anyone who wasn't willing to spend huge amounts of money but still want decent sound.

Pros: Good sound for price, works wonderfully, colors are very cool.

Cons: exposed microphone wire for bluetooth, hard to find some settings without manual

I ordered this JVC to replace the broken Bose system on my 1999 Pathfinder (should be the same from 1996-2002). I also got the Scosche CNN03 Wiring Interface, Metra 95-7417 Dash Kit and Metra 40-NI10 Antenna Adapter too. The installation was straight forward. The Scosche came with the wires already connected. I only need to match up the colors on the Scosche to the harness that came with the JVC. As some reviewers mentioned, there are 2 extra wires coming out of the Scosche connectors. In fact, both of the Scosche connectors have 2 blue wires (one solid and one with white stripe), and 2 black wires (one solid and one with white stripe). I connected both of the blue wires to the power antenna blue wire from the JVC's harness. I connected both black wires to the ground black from the JVC's harness. Without this, you don't get sound. After this, everything else is pretty easy. I installed the microphone on top of the steering column and the sound was pretty clear (according to the wife). The setup is straight forward and I was able to pair both my Iphone 6Plus running IOS 9.3.1 and my wife's 5C also running 9.3.1. Audio streaming is nice and the sound quality is really good, much better than my stock sound. One thing, I reused the factory bracket on the JVC along with the Mestra kit. The screw holes didn't line up properly with the unit. I was only able to get 3 screws in instead of 4, but it was tight enough. I haven't had issues with the display in sunlight.

Pros: Price Ease of installation Great sound Colors are a bonus

Cons: Wiring diagram needs updated. Holes don't line up with OEM bracket (this may only apply to Pathfinder and not other cars)

We installed this stereo in my used 2006 Subaru Forester over the weekend - it was my first time installing a radio and we had the whole thing done in about two hours (would have been waaay shorter if the car didn't have some weird aftermarket radio issues from the previous owner that we had to deal with.) The stereo is so customizable - and the Bluetooh mic has great call quality! Very good value for a car radio - it makes me happy every time I get in the car!

Pros: Easy to use and install

Cons: Can feel a bit "flashy" and distracting if you don't customize the lights after installation

I replaced the stereo in my sons car as a birthday gift. I installed the stereo in a couple of minutes; taking the trim and dash pieces apart was the most difficult part of the install, which had nothing to do with the stereo. My son loves it because it has all the features he wanted. I found the controls for the colors a little challenging, but he's working it very well. The sound quality is very good with the stock speakers in the car. The mic easily mounts in a location that makes hands free phone calls through the Bluetooth connection an added safety feature. Overall, this stereo is great and I am very pleased with it.

Pros: Bluetooth, multi-color display, hands-free calls, Aux connection, Pandora

    Cons: None at this time

I was looking for a receiver that had advanced BT capabilities, steering wheel controls and would display the clock when the receiver was off. The KW-R910BT satisfied all of my requirements and, having had purchased a JVC for my previous vehicle, I figured I would be familiar with the sound and operations. I purchased all of the necessary installation hardware from Crutchfield and had the unit installed by an independent installer. I was pleased with the sound out of the box, but haven't had a chance to customize the audio settings yet which should lead to even better sound. The steering wheel controls all work, though not in the same order. In other words the "Mute" button is now the "Seek" button and vice-versa. Not a big deal. BT works fantastic, pairing easily, and reconnects quickly when entering the car. Streaming works flawlessly and there was no problem loading my phone book. The only disappointment I have is the display. While the clock will display when the unit is off, what I didn't realize is that, unlike my previous JVC, it only has a single line display. So the clock can not be displayed simultaneously with the metadata which is all displayed individually. Disappointed that there isn't an option to have all of the information scroll across the display. The variable colors are nice in that I could match my existing color scheme. The build quality is okay, though the buttons don't exactly have a tactile feel to them. You need to apply a little pressure t

Pros: Steering wheel controls, advance BT capabilities work flawlessly. Variable color display allows for matching existing color scheme.

Cons: Single line display doesn't allow for multiple information being displayed. Buttons lack tactile feeling.

Great replacement for my broken factory stereo. Installation was a breeze with Crutchfield's included installation kit and instructions. The value was awesome, the stereo has loads of features (including bluetooth for hands-free calling). Took a second to figure out how to change the crazy Demo mode, but after that everything is fairly intuitive. Highly recommend this unit to anyone who wants a great double-din stereo for a fantastic price...

Install was very easy. Did my homework and did the wiring the night before, found an online video on how to take the dash apart and remove the old radio. When it came to install the radio, it took about 40 minutes.

    Pros: Easy

Cons: Most of the wires were the same color on the wire harness, and were easy to match up. The rear speakers had a very different shade of green and purple, for most people no problem, but I am colorblind!

I have multiple cars and I have to have my tunes in them. My show cars have subs and expensive head units and top quality speakers so I am used to having great sound when I am cruising around. I had been looking to upgrade my Tundra's radio for a bit and Crutchfield sent a magazine with this JVC unit on the cover as being one of their most bought. I looked it over, saw it met my needs and ordered it along with some fosgate 6 1/2" for the rear and Fosgate component for the front. This access cab on this Toyota is not very roomy so I am currently checking out a way to add a sub. So back to the JVC, it had decent outputs on the back, decent power and pretty easy to use it seemed so I ordered that also. Super simple to hook up since Crutchfield sends everything. Once I figured out there was a separate little amp that hooks up to the stock Toyota radio, it was just plug and play. Good sound, cool lights and plenty of adjustments to sub and EQ.

Pros: inexpensive, great item if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Cons: Menu is a bit tedious to use but still acceptable.

    Great unit for the money

Pros: Worked the first time; more to do with the wiring, I suppose. Plenty of great features, but I was after the blue tooth and hands free phone option. Those worked great and were easy to learn about. Pre-set equalizer for genres of music is nice. Clean finish, nice looking. Lighter weight than the OE 6-disc unit with few technical options. This is definitely an upgrade that has me asking why I did not do this sooner.

Cons: Too many colors; I'm a bit old fashion, I suppose, but the constant moving lights are a distraction.

The JVC unit was simple to install in my 2007 F250 and the instrucitons were accurate. Fits and looks like a factory unit. Microphone relocated to headliner where not really visible. Sound quality is great and loud. Bluetooth phone, music, and GPS guidance works very well with my Galaxy Edge 6+ . Display oriented more towards a teenager, lots of colors choices, color zones, flashing lights, moving bars, etc. Very distracting while driving. I set all colors to a solid state of blue and minimalized dynamics. I would recomend this unit. Good deal for the price.

It's a nice unit with good sound and terrific FM clarity (for those who still listen to FM). It takes a few minutes to figure out how to adjust the settings, but not long. The main control knob and buttons are a little slippery. When you first install and turn it on the lights turn on and off, change color, and jump around enough to cause a seizure. No, there's not an electrical short, it's just the demo routine. Fortunately, the very first page in the book tells you how to turn off that crazy pattern.

Pros: Good sound. Very good FM reception. Bluetooth works well.

Never in my life thought I'd take a stab at doing anything stereo-related on my own..but that's to help of Crutchfiled, I actually installed this on my own. Took me a few hours longer than it should have since I was too stubborn to ask for additional help, but I got it to work without blowing the car up. The receiver itself is great, so far. Granted, my demands were minimal..basically just wanted a double din unit with an AUX jack as I actually still own an ipod (yes, really) and a USB port. Both work well and are easy to swap between. The stereo in my car (350z) is notoriously bad, so having an affordable alternative that works so well is great. Thank you again to Crutchfield for the detailed installation directions. Couldn't be happier with everything!

Pros: Easy install, modern features, good button feel

Cons: I'm not crazy about all the colors, but that's just a personal preference. That's adjustable, too..I really couldn't say anything bad about it.

Cons: It took a while to figure out that I had to turn off the "Demo" display to get things to stay as I set them. Its in the manual, but it did not click right away that was going on. No Cons after that problem.

I've had this unit in my Jeep for about a month now. So far so good. It was relatively easy to install with the kit matched up by the Crutchfield team. It pushes my stock speakers nicely, and integrates well with the new sub I added (nice sub control settings within the head unit). On top of the sound quality, the thing just looks cool as hell. Customizable color settings are a nice touch. Sometimes the bluetooth can be a bit glitchy (hence 4 stars on "Build Quality"), it doesn't always pick up audio on the first try. It may also struggle if there are multiple blue tooth devices on at once. Fairly easy remedies, generally fixed by turning the BT on your device off and back on, and shutting off BT on devices not in use, respectively. I know you can update the firmware on the unit also, which I may be doing soon.

Pros: Easy to install. Looks great. Sounds great.

Cons: Bluetooth can be a hassle.

I bought this unit July 2014 and it has been working flawless up until 2 months ago. Upon starting my truck, unit would power on, then power off and right back on. Did this maybe 3 times in 2 months. Now, it is doing it more frequently, and today, it was actually playing for about 2 minutes after starting the truck, then powered off, stayed off for about 30 seconds and came back on. I have this installed as a replacement for my factory stereo and factory speakers. I do not have this system amped or any other aftermarket equipment, it is not a "bass boomer". Last JVC I will own.

Pros: Easy install. Pretty colors. USB is nice.

    Cons: Very short life span!!

When I buy a used car (which is about every 3 years or so), I immediately swap out the factory unit for a new one from Crutchfield. The last several I have chosen have all been JVC. This time was no exception. I put this model in a 2005 Toyota Highlander. I like that it is larger to fit the space left by the original unit. It fit well and was fairly easy to install. It has great features: USB port on the front for the kids to plug in their devices, the Bluetooth is great, especially for using the unit as a speaker phone with the included microphone + many more. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Pros: Easy to install. Lots of great features. Very good price.

    Cons:

I like the stereo very much. It looks nice in the dash of my van. My old stereo was a little difficult to remove from the vehicle but installation went pretty smooth. Modified Fit means you have to cut out part of the dash to fit the stereo in place. I used a little vibrating saw to do the trick. Worked pretty good.

Pros: Stereo works good. Looks nice.

Cons: Install was a little tricky.

Bought this to bring the old bomber up to snuff..I advise you to read the manual about a dozen times first to get the idea of how to set it up.....there are a zillion of them......first, the BT works great, had to adjust the EQ setting on user1 to the max, improves the call sound greatly.....it only takes about 10 sec. Or so to pair up with phone after start up...mic. Settings are tough to do , has to be with the phone on call, trial and error.....the cd and FM audio is awesome, am lacks the same punch with same eq on,, no big deal ...in bright daylight the display will wash out at times..minor problem..the one thing that urks me, when turning on your dash lights with the unit off at night, no lights come on to show you the display..stupid for a unit that has every light you could want..so to get around this, I never shut the unit down, just turn the key off..there is a few second delay when powered up , so the car will start before the head unit....like others have noted, the sound is excellent with the oem speakers, so dont see the need to replace, can it do later if want to....will take about 5 days or so to play with all the settings to get where you want to be, trial and error again.........well worth it.......

Pros: Great sound and looks........ The BT comes in handy or should I say handless....

Cons: No lights display with dashboard lights, when unit is off.........in bright daylight lose display.....

My wife purchased this for me and i was a little apprehensive. I was so wrong. Installation took a total of less than an hour. Setup was a little longer. Other reviewers are correct that the initial usage isn't quite intuitive but it's not hard to figure out and once you do it's just as easy as factory. I installed it into a 2003 Chevy venture without any additional equipment such as steering wheel controls or back up cameras. I really thought I was going to have to replace the factory speakers because before the new head unit, they sounded almost blown and just terrible. After the new head unit, the factory speakers are 1000 times better. Still probably going to replace them for better quality sound but overall doable for now. I almost didn't even install the mic because i know most bluetooth stereos sound absolutely horrible on the other end. This one gives enough controls that my wife says it sounds as good, or better then my LG headset bluetooth. So functionally it is a sound quality unit that i'm even debating on replacing in my wife car. The bells and whistles of this otherwise basic model are what sets it apart. Not only do you have color control, you have full control over the levels of blue, red, and green in the colors you choose. Bluetooth audio and pandora allow me to listen to my music and keep my phone charged without the static from a line in and aux power jack situation. Final thoughts, probably the best unit out there if you don't need built in nav or

Pros: Color change with full control, ease of set-up and install. Also changes colors from day to night. Pandora works like a dream, iPhone music works great. Bluetooth calling sounds much better than anticipated. So many options you can truly make it your own.

Cons: Remote is a little tiny with not as many functions as i would like. Not as intuitive as I would like so you actually have to think while you set it up but once you do it's awesome.

Great head unit for the money, makes the stock speakers sound better than stock even if the speakers are stock. I had this unit in an acura rsx and i had no complaints about the unit until about two weeks after owning it the bluetooth stopped connecting to my iphone. i couldn't ever figure out what happened but the entire year I owned it i never could get it to work again. But other than that it is a very good unit

Pros: ease of use while driving, good color customization, good dash fit

    Cons: poorly designed bluetooth

The install was easy. Instructions for the install were complete and left no guess work. The installed receiver looks great and fits great. I gave 4 stars on the Ease of Use because there's a small learning curve for the new receivers. Most of it is intuitively obvious.

Have now had this radio installed for about a month--a big improvement over the factory unit (2010 Toyota Yaris). Sound quality is great and the bluetooth works just fine, including the phone and the remote microphone. The wiring harness that was supplied worked perfectly, too (I took the time to solder the connections and protect them with shrink-tubing). Install was easy, with one minor complaint: The face of the unit sticks out about 1/4 inch further than the factory radio. This leaves a small gap between some of the car trim pieces. Not a big deal, and it looks okay. It's just not a perfect fit. Finally, as others have noted, the control menus for brightness, color, equalizer, etc. are not very intuitive. With patience and constant checking of the manual you can eventually get where you need to go and make the changes you want to make. Shouldn't be that hard.

Pros: Good sound. Bluetooth connects easily with phone and works quite well.

Cons: Not a perfect fit. Menu sequence is confusing.
