The tough resin enclosure sports a terracotta finish that you can paint to match your deck or patio décor. And it supports up to 200 pounds, so you can use it as a plant stand or an end table.

Polk designed the Sub10 to perfectly complement their Atrium Sat30 outdoor speakers, but you can use it to add punchy bass to any outdoor speaker system.

Outdoor Subwoofer

All-Weather Design: The Polk Audio Atrium SUB10 Outdoor Subwoofer combines heavy-duty bass performance and all-weather durability to deliver indoor-level bass impact to your home's outdoor area, such as your deck, porch, pool, or garden area.

Driver Technology

10" Dynamic Balance Woofer: The Polk Audio Atrium SUB10 Outdoor Subwoofer features a down-firing 10" Composite Long-Throw Dynamic Balance Driver for deep accurate bass. Polk's Dynamic Balance Driver Technology eliminates driver distortion for deeper, cleaner bass even at higher volume. The 10" woofer also features a rugged butyl rubber surround for added durability and bass response.

Dual 2" Voice Coil Design: The Polk Audio outdoor subwoofer's dual 2" voice-coil design reproduces bass from both stereo channels, producing more power (up to 200 watts) in the lower frequencies with the help of Capacitive Coupling Technology. The voice coils are 8 ohms each.

Built-In Low-Pass Crossover: Using it's built-in low-pass crossover (150Hz), the Atrium SUB10 can be connected directly to its own amplifier channels for independent volume control. The overall frequency response is 40Hz-200Hz and the -3dB frequency response is 50-110kHz.

Acoustically-Matched Design: The Polk Audio Atrium SUB10 outdoor subwoofer is an excellent match for Polk's Atrium SAT30 Outdoor Satellite Speakers (107ATSAT30, sold separately).

Enclosure Design

Sealed Resin Enclosure: The 10" woofer is housed in a molded and sealed acoustically ideal resin enclosure which is marine-certified that will provide weather-proof, outdoor performance for years to come. The enclosure's color-impregnated resin (terracotta) will never fade or you can paint it to match your outdoor décor. The sealed resin enclosure can also be used as a plant stand or a pedestal table (supports up to 200lbs).

Connections

Direct Burial Connection: The Polk Audio Atrium SUB10 features an attached 3' CI3-Rated direct burial 4-conductor cable so no there is no exposed wiring once the woofer has been mounted and connected. The outdoor subwoofer comes with four wire-nuts for connecting your speaker wire. Because both have built-in crossovers, the sub can be wired in parallel with a pair of Atrium SAT30 satellite speakers. (Or both can be wired to individual amplifier channels.)

Wiring Options: The SUB10's direct burial cable has four conductors because of the speaker's dual voice coil design. You can connect each voice coil to separate amplifier channels, which will present an 8-ohm load to each channel. If you connect both of the voice coils to a single amplifier channel (in parallel), a 4-ohm load will be presented to the amplifier. (Make sure the amplifier is capable of handling a 4-ohm load.)

Mounting Options

Security Anchor: The Polk Audio Atrium SUB10 features an integrated eyebolt security anchor and screw-down Points for added stability and security (mounting screws not provided).

Q
Has anyone tried the Atrium Sub10 with SONOS Connect:Amp? My pool / patio is a significant distance from the house, my SONOS Play:1's work out there (so Wifi is strong-enough), but running speaker lines from the house is a problem. The SONOS Connect:Amp is the only amplifier I have found rated for outdoor use? Or another question; is how will this sub-woofer work driven with only 55 Watts?

Every amplifier is rated for outdoor use AS LONG AS YOU KEEP IT INSIDE, including the Sonos Connect Amp, none of their speakers or devices are designed to be used outside, the amp stay in and you run the wires to the desired location where you want the speakers. The Sonos is only powerful to move the satellite speakers on the wall and not by much, the volume isn't out of this world but loud enough to enjoy music not for a street hip hop parade. Regarding how to move the Polk sub, you can either get another Sonos Connect Amp OR you can move the sub with a small mono or bridgeable 100 watts amp or bigger (like I do) and buy a Sonos Connect (not an amplifier) the device that connects you to your network and can play your Sonos music where you don't have Sonos speakers or viceversa, allows you to play your CDs music from your conventional stereo through your Sonos network, that's what I do and the sound is exquisite and at the same time you take advantage of the Sonos convenience. I hope it helps.

I have a Sonos connect Amp, run through the Atrium Sub, then to 2 Bose outdoor speakers on my patio. It works and sounds great! Now don't get me wrong, if want gut wrenching bass, your not going to get it with the Sonos amp and this sub. You would need to goto a larger driver and sub. However, for great quality mids and highs (i.e. Bose) and decent bass response, it works good. And you can't beat Sonos user friendliness and input options. Good luck!!

Q
Is this a powered sub, or does it run off of the speaker wire? I have a russound amp hooked to a Devon receiver and want like some more thump on the deck area.

Run off amp. It's OK. Odd hookup. Just bare wires you need to splice. Should have jacks. Mine were free with purchase. So I can't complain too much.

This is not a powered sub. I have mine; Receiver to Niles amp, then to an outside volume box. The size of the box would not hold all the wires so I added another waterproof box and did all my speaker connections the ran the wire to the speakers.( The sub can be wired as a dual coil), then to the sub and the speakers. Just check the output of amp, you may want to size up or add additional if you can bridge yours. If you have more question please ask.

It's passive, it needs an amp. It's best if you order at least 2 of them, dedicate an amp to them, and place them against the side of the house or another flat surface. I have 2 of them on my patio, and they fill in the base of the other speakers. These are not home theater subs or PA subs, they are not going to give you huge bass, but they will fill in the low end and give you a nice balanced lower end. But they perform 10 times better against a wall, rather than just by themselves in free space.

I have mine hooked to a dedicated sub amp. It is not powered. I am very pleased with the way it fills in the bottom on my front porch.

It runs off of the speaker wire. I have Nuvo P3100 and I'm pleased with level of bass produced by Sub10.
