The Polk CSi A6 anchors clear, crisp movie dialogue to your TV screen and delivers thrilling special effects, thanks to its advanced driver technology and solid construction. Polk carefully designed the woofers and tweeter using laser testing to help identify and eliminate resonance points. The acoustically inert MDF cabinet fights internal vibrations that can compromise performance. It all adds up to smooth, accurate sound with DVDs and multichannel music sources. And a real wood veneer finish gives the speaker a warm, refined look, making it an attractive addition to just about any room.
The center channel speaker is the workhorse in a home theater system. It has to reproduce clear dialogue and special effects that keep your eyes and ears glued to the movie action. A high-quality center speaker is a great investment for any surround sound setup. Try to choose one that's as closely matched as possible to your front right and left speakers, so that as sound moves across the front stage, it stays seamlessly realistic.
Fantastic Center Channel!!!
Decided to go with the A6, instead of the A4 and glad I did. This thing is a beast
Pros: Great center channel
Crutchfield always delivers the best service and best knowledge. I ordered this online after researching all of the reviews and in-depth review on their site. This is an amazing center channel speaker. Just as others have noted, it is a large speaker but the sound quality more than makes up for it. spend the money and get a speaker that is well worth it
Pros: great sound quality, cherry cabinet looks great
Love this center speaker. Wish I had purchased sooner. Worth the price! Crutchfield is GREAT!
Pros: Looks great, sounds great with RTi6 tower speakers!
Cons: Would have purchased sooner, but had to come up with a solution for location since it wouldn't fit in lower cabinet and too big for wall mount.
Polk Audio CSi A6 Center speaker is a very good choice for my home theater at a reasonable price.
Pros: Very good quality and sound. The price is reasonable.
I purchased the CSi A6 Center Channel Speaker on 12/18/14 to compliment my Bi-amped Polk Monitor 70 Tower Speakers and SVS SB-1000 Subwoofer using a Onkyo AV Receiver, Dune HD Media Player, and OPPO Blu-ray Player.
I liked the specs: 55-26k Hz frequency response, 90 dB Sensitivity, 20-200 watts power range, 6-1/2" woofer and dome tweeter in a bass reflex forward ported cabinet all combined to produce clear detailed spacious vocals without being harsh and overbearing or sounding "boxy".
It's important to set the center channel speaker configuration Crossover Frequency settings in your AV receiver to your sound preference and listening area dimensions. THX recommends setting the crossover frequency at 80Hz but I prefer setting it to full band.
After four months using the CSi A6, movies, music, and even regular TV all sound great. I am very happy with it. It was money well spent and I expect it to last for many years of listening pleasure.
Set up a system for my in home gym. Running a Onkyo 828 receiver, 2 Polk Audio RTi A9s a Polk Audio 660wi powered 12" subwoofer and this Center Channel. Awesome combination that just ROCKS the room. The room is 20'X20' and it could probably handle a room twice that size
Was looking to upgrade a set of Polk speakers (RM7600) I was using in home theater. After researching stuck with Polk. This center channel sounds awesome. Using an Onkyo receiver as the driver. The speakers do not disappoint whether listening to music or viewing movies.
Pros: sound quality superb for the price.
Cons: only negative could be the depth of the speaker if you don't have room. (mounted mine above the TV and it fits perfectly there)
Added this center channel to my ht setup of rti a7 fronts and fxi a4 rears along with the dsw pro 660wi subwoofer all powered by a Yamaha Rx v775 receiver. Epson 5030 ub projector. Elite 120" screen. This speaker replaced a Kef Q600c that failed after 9 months of moderate use. This was the center channel I wanted at the time but I couldn't afford it. I dropped the cash this time and the difference is amazing. Wishing I had spent the money upfront on it. Highly recommended at least for my setup. Our seats are 18 feet from the screen. 1800 square foot basement and we are using about 1000 sq ft of it for the ht. Stairwell divides the room. Lots of openness but this speaker makes the audio crystal clear on all types of programs. We have DirecTv, we stream Netflix, WatchEspn and other apps via AppleTv and we have a PS3Move we use for 3d movies and gaming.
Pros: Great sound. I like that it is concaved so it can be flipped to project sound up or down to suit your needs. Audio is crisp and full. Surround sound moves equally around the room with no highs or lows.
Cons: It is big so plan for that. Well worth the size.
When I contacted Crutchfield to buy a new set of speakers, the sales rep helped be be sure the front 3 match, and boy do they!
Pros: Amazing sound quality!
Cons: A bit to big to truly hang on the wall below my TV, but I wouldn't change it for any other!
I was a little concerned with the size of this thing, however, in the case of a center channel speaker being responsible for a vast majority of the audio while watching TV or movies, it only makes sense. The Cherry finish is flawless and compliments our decor very well.
Pros: Sound quality. Performance. Looks.
Polk has been my favorite speaker for a long time. This center channel speaker, the CSi A6 far exceeded my expectations. My music, movies, and even TV shows come alive with my new center speaker -- a very important part of my Home Theater System. My recommendation: make the purchase; you will be very pleased!
Pros: Everything about it: design, performance, output, and even appearance!
Great price, excellent woodwork on enclosure, and near perfect sound. I was impressed from the time opened the box...this speaker is packaged beautifully, is heavy, and sounds GREAT. I would highly recommend this speaker for a center channel speaker system. The quality cannot be matched in my opinion.
Pros: price, quality, and sound.
A must have for 5.1 or 7.1 audio systems. Takes all you ask it to do... and more.
So far very happy with item I waited a couple months before reviewing item and I would by again granted I haven't ever had a center channel before so I don't have much to compare it to but seems good quality and it's always a safe purchase with Crutchfield service
Pros: Looks good sounds good
Absolutely amazing. Been looking at this speaker for over a year and decided it was time to break down and buy it. I have an Onkyo 1009 with 2 Polk Audio RTi-7 and this speaker just finishes it. very loud and crisp and it never strains to deliver. Not gonna buy anything better then this.
Pros: Nice finish, very loud, very clear.and of course, it's Polk Audio
Cons: Just very large.
Excellent speaker if you have the space. Crisp clear sound not disappointed at all with this purchase.
Pros: Excellent sounding speaker
Good clarity. Compared to previous unit, wife says voices no longer "muffled" and can now "understand" the content. Voices are robust and distinct. Blends perfectly with my RTiA7s - a noticeable improvement. The unit is large but fits fine (slightly pointed downward utilizing attached stand) atop my entertainment armoire.
Pros: Sound quality. Adjustable kickstand. Binding posts. Bi-wire capable. Nice looking wood cabinet.
Cons: Large size might result in less-than-optimal placement.
SUPER HAPPY with this center speaker. An upgrade from my old sony center. Clear and crisp sounds. Works great together with my other Polk speakers.
Pros: clear and crisp sound. looks nice
Replaced tired Klipsch center. Great sound
Pros: Easy to install, fast shipping
Cons: VERY large - when I need a new center I will get a smaller unit
These are still new to me and maybe they are not all the way broken in. Compared to my last speakers these have more highs and midrange. All the different sounds seem separate like the drums, cymbals, guitars, etc... My last speakers didn't have the highs or midrange so the sounds were blended and muddy. These are not at all. The only thing I find I don't like about them is that the tweeter sounds scratchy when I play any song with a lot of highs in it. This is rather large. Like the cabinet and would buy them again if I needed to. I would give these a 3.5 but I cannot do that on this website.
Pros: Have decent bass, excellent midrange, good highs, and a large sound stage
Cons: When really close to the speaker with it playing the tweeter sounds scratchy and blown.
Bought this speaker to match my new A9s. Blends in well and has good bass with the dual 6 1/2s.
I've been using this center channel speaker several days now and love it. In combination with four other large speakers (Altec Lansing-like 604's, actually by Great Plains Audio) and a powered subwoofer, the CSi A6 holds its own. I really filled out voices and center-action events in DVDs. I've not tried it yet with classical music, but it should be just fine. I auditioned this unit with another one costing $800 and picked the CSi A6 since it actually sounded as good and looked nicer (real wood versus glossy plastic).
My system: Two Great Plains Audio 604 8H II in self built cabinets Two GPA 8H III's in self built cabinets Aperion Intimus S12 Powered Subwoofer Polk CSi A6 Center Channel Yamaha RX V-663 receiver Sony Bravia 42" LCD
Pros: Great sound, excellent workmanship of cabinet.
Cons: None - some people object to size, but it fits perfectly on top of my stereo sidebar, just under the TV.
I was amazed at how much better my surround sound system performed when I swapped out my old center channel system for the new one. Voices were noticeably more clear and it made the experience more theater like. I would reccomend this speaker to a person who wants the more defined sound AND has the space for the speaker. A nice upgrade!
Pros: More defined sound. Wood finish looks great.
Cons: Large and heavy speaker. Isn't ideal for some setups.
I'm blown away by this speaker first I ordered the tl1, then I ordered the tl3, and neither of them did any thing for me since a have the RTI A7's. I just couldnt take it any longer and had to order the CSI A6 man I'm glad I did of course the wife almost killed me but it was worth it. We both agree the sound quility is phenomenal especially with the towers, and the look of them is absolutely beautiful. Now I don't have to waste time or money buying anything else cause that's exactly what you'll if you don't buy the right one the first time is waste money by this speaker and never have to by another one again....
Pros: SOUND AND LOOKS
Would not have purchased any other product!!!
This is part of my first home theater setup and I am enjoying this center speaker, it sounds great and looks great.
This speaker sounds excellent, but is very large compared to many of the other center channels I've seen. Stupidly I didn't pay attention to the measurements before I ordered, so I had to rearrange some things to make it fit. If space is not an issue, this speaker is great.
Quick ship, knowledgable customer service
Pros: Knowledgable customer service
Cons: Not best price
im glad i didnt cheap out. this center channel should last for a good 10 years. sounds great, looks great. even my wife likes the look and sound. might be a little big for some people so measure before you order. i had plenty of room so it didnt matter to me.
Pros: sound looks
Cons: none as yet
Okay, so I've been using the CS10 center with my system for the past few years now. I own the RTi A7's. This little center is not too bad if you're on a budget. But honestly, something was lacking. It just couldn't keep up with my mains. I'm talking about movie scenes ie. Terminator 2 when Arnie is riding around on that bad-ass Harley. Sounded more like a Yamaha! I came to the conclusion that I really needed an upgrade. Patience is a virtue. The CSi A6 was finally on sale! I happily ordered one here on Crutchfield and did not look back. It's like night and day guys. Much fuller sound! This CSi A6 is a perfect match with the RTi A7 tower speakers. So I watched that scene from T2 again and was just blown away! That's what a Harley sounds like! This center channel speaker makes me want to re-watch all of my old movies now because everything sounds so much better! Go ahead and pull the trigger on the CSi A6 if you're in the market and while it's on sale. Come to think of it, now that I know how good this speaker really is, I would've paid full price and still been very satisfied.
Pros: Higher highs and lower lows vs the inferior CS10. Much fuller sound. Perfect match with the RTi A7's.
Cons: Pricey, yet still a bargain for the quality of sound. Remember, this is the most important speaker in your home theater system.
The CSi A6 completed my full 7.2 surround sound system. The majority of my speakers are built into the wals, but I wanted the front and center speakers to be stand alone. This allows me the opportunity to upgrade as needed, as well as much better pure music sound, as the system serves two purposes.
Pros: Good price, great speech reproduction, great mid range as well. Matches the performance of my existing front Polk speakers
Cons: None so far....
Had a much small created channel before this and wanted something that would really bring out the voices in my music and movie watching. This hit the spot, run with with polks rti A9's and their 10" sub powered by a denon 3312, everything I watch sounds amazing.
Pros: Sound clarity, bi-wire capability, looks great
Cons: None so far
I bought this speaker along with a set of the RTiA3,RTiA1 and a DSW550 subwoofer from Crutchfield. After hearing this speaker all I can say is that it is a MUST HAVE speaker. It made a great difference on my HT. The speakers set is run by the fantastic Yamaha RXV871 that make those speakers dance. Crutchfield people made the transaction a delight. I received the speaker in two days. Five stars for Crutchfield!!!
Pros: Excellent sound and clarity, fantastic quality and craftmanship and beatiful cherry finish.
GREAT SPEAKER FROM POLKAUDIO. I NOTICED THE BIG IMPROVEMENT IN COMPARISON TO MY PREVIOUS INFINITY . I'M THINKING OF GETTING A PAIR OF BOOKSHELF ALSO FOR MY BACK SURROUND SPEAKERS.
Wow! I bought this to replace a 13 year old BA center channel in my 5.1 system. The change in overall sound and depth is astounding. I also assume it will only get better after break in time. I would highly recommend this center. I have heard many friends systems that now just dont compare. This center has vastly improved my systems sound even with my older front, back, sub. I plan on replacing these with sound matched Polk front and rears soon. FYI...The speaker is Large so make sure you measure your spot for it. I would not want it mounted on the wall as it is just too large to be pleasing to the eye.
I'm the type of audio file that takes the time to find the right component for serious listening. This venture took a some time. I found THE ONE. The Polk CSI A6 I beleve is the best bang for the buck. I would consider the CSI A6 compairable to center channels costing 3 times as much. After quite some time allowing for break in (about 50-60 hours easy) this bad boy came alive. Very crisp, clear, and realistic. When paired it with my front speakers (some position/tunning) the sound stage became extreamly wide. Definitely a full range center. At this point no sub needed. As for home theater use the hard working CSI A6 is very commanding and accurate. I bought the cherry wood. Looks great. Impressive porting front and rear. My freinds and fam say "wow" thats cool. My wife says it's beautiful. Yah, I scored Big Time.
Great, great, great improvement over my out-the-box Sony system. I expected a marked improvement, but not another world of listening...and I haven't replaced the surrounds in my system yet. The Polk CSi A6 shook the floor!! No loss in sound quality at high volume. Great range with movies and great power with music. (I started to get the CSi A4 but wanted more punch. If you can't afford the perfect system, indulge on the workhorse....the center speaker). I'll be replacing the surrounds next week.
It's a wonderful center speaker, and it's beautiful also. But I didn't get any little rubber feet to put on the bottom, but I just happened to have some. it's
Bought this as part of a complete upgrade to my system. My old Polks were retired and replaced with fresh RTi A7 fronts, RTi A1 bookshelf surrounds, and the CSi A6 center. Also replaced my aging Velodyne with a new Polk Micro Pro. I am currently powering this system with a 100 watt per channel Denon. The result- total listening bliss. The CSiA6 is an incredible center. It is very, very precise and clear and provides for easy understanding of movie dialogue without having to ever strain. When I auditioned the equipment I considered both the A4 and the A6. While both sounded fine, the A6 seemed fuller and seemed to match the the other speakers better to me. Yes, it is large. But it fits perfectly in my entertainment center, so not an issue with me. I am very, very impressed with this.
Pros: Audio quality is spectacular both for dialog and music. This is a MAJOR upgrade from CSi3/CSiA4 model. The sound is remarkably full and rich with excellent detail in all ranges.
I have it matched with my RTi10's but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase with Polks that recc'd the CSiA4 unless you have an underpowered receiver.
Also be aware that Polk has outstanding support, so it's an excellent brand to consider.
So why not 5 stars?....
1 Con: This puppy is ENORMOUS and weights a ton. Thus it won't fit in most center speaker compartments in cabinets. and realistically would need a seriously mounted shelf (shelf supports) to put on a wall. And although the curved profile looks beautiful, I miss the ability to set the speaker at an angle in order to direct sound like the previous (CSi5) model.
THE UPSHOT: If you have a place to put this - don't think twice, you'll be thrilled. Also, don't waste your time deal hunting - they cost the same everywhere - buy 'em from Crutchfield and you'll have fabulous speakers with top-notch service.
The CSiA6 is a great center channel speaker, dialogue is crisp and tonally correct, very detailed, open and extended range. As a point of reference, my HT occupies about ½ of a 16' x 24' room so is essentially a small installation, about 16' x 14' with sound quality versus quantity as the guiding priority.
For better or worse I have tested a number of Polk center channel speakers as my system has been 'evolving' since the original purchase of the Polk CS2 to be used with Polk Monitor 40s up front before deciding to get a sub. As an aside, the CS2 was never a great match with the 40s, instead the CS1 was a very good match and had I not decided to get a pair of RTi A1s to replace the 40s as front speakers I would have stopped there and been happy. Please see other review re RTI A1s.
If the CSiA3 sounded as good as the RTiA1 they would be great, they do not in my view, but the CSiA6 does and is a great center channel. Too bad of course that the smaller CSiA3 did not get the job done, @ $150 less this would have been great, but in the end; the A6 is well worth the additional cost.
Hope this helps, Crutchfield is great, would not buy anything they carry from anyone else.

I am replacing an 18-year-old 5.1 system and decided to seriously
upgrade the center speaker! Wow, what a nice sounding product that is
beautiful to look at. When my friends walk in and see this speaker, they
stop in their tracks. This really does give my room a feel of a proper theater.
I have a dedicated 2,850 cubic foot theater room and added a complete 7.0
system from Polk (I already had a new 12" 350WRMS Sub). A tower
speaker was ruled out due to the WAF (Wife Appreciation Factor) and the
built in 15' wide entertainment center. I paired this speaker with the RtiA3
front speakers, FXiA6 surround speakers and RTiA1 back surround
speakers. The sound field produced is amazing for clarity and balance and
with a proper AVR & HD player; the Wife & I are never going to the Cinema
Whether you are watching a concert HD Disc or Hollywood movie, the
sound is so accurate and believable to what you are watching. This
speaker produces an experience with sound that I have never heard
before. The Sub takes care of the LFE and that allows the rest of system to
work the mids and highs to perfection. The sound is warm, inviting and
immerses the listener. I can now listen to HD movies at higher SPL without
any discomfort (at certain frequencies) that bothered me with the old
system. This system will easily support me for another 18 years (Sorry
I purchased this center channel speaker for my family's 5th wheel trailer (to marry up to my new Yamaha receiver) because the built-in cube surround sound speakers could not provide the voice clarity and separation. Connection to the Yamaha receiver using Monster Ultra speaker cable was a breeze. More importantly, this Polk center channel provided the voice separation and clarity along with some additional bass and allowed the entire system work beautifully. Eventhough this Polk center channel speaker is not paired up with other Polk speakers, it has improved our trailer entertainment system dramatically and is the champion speaker of the system.
I had been shopping around for quite some time. After speaking with Bryce at Crutchfield. I decided to purchase this speaker. WOW, am I glad I did. The sound is amazing. I've only had it a couple of days and can't wait to really sit back and enjoy it. Polk and Crutchfield make a great pair.
I also bought a pair of RTI6's for the front channel. They sound perfectly matched to the CSI6. Thanks!
Bought this one to add center channel to a pair of RTi12's, since CSi5 has been discontinued. Great product, just like the rest of them, from Polk. I enjoy the sound from my system very much.
Thanks to Chrutchfield for great communication and prompt shipment, as usual!

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.
Polymer Composite Woofers: The speaker features two 6-1/2" polymer composite woofers for smooth wide-range response with low distortion. For high performance durability, each woofer uses a butyl rubber surround and an acoustically inert stamped driver basket.
Silk/Polymer Tweeter: The speaker has a 1" silk/polymer dome tweeter that provides clear, detailed highs. The tweeter uses a heat sink on the Neodymium magnet for superior heat dissipation, power handling and reliability.
Mylar Bypass Capacitors: Mylar bypass capacitors in the speaker's crossover network extend high frequency response and improve detail and transparency.
Frequency Response Note: The overall frequency response is 45Hz-27kHz and the -3dB frequency response is 55-26kHz.
Acoustically Inert Cabinet: The speaker cabinet features all-MDF construction with extensive internal bracings that virtually eliminate sound-muddying resonance.
Acoustic Resonance Control (ARC): Internal cabinet resonance can impart a "thick" character to voices. Polk's patented Acoustic Resonance Control port system overcomes this problem. In addition to the Power Port venting system, the speaker has a front-firing port that is tuned to suppress the internal cabinet resonance, resulting in smooth, natural midrange reproduction.
Power Port Venting System: The speaker has two rear-firing Power Port vents built into its two-piece back plate for precise deep bass response. This venting system allows air velocity to slow gradually, vastly reducing air turbulence, and delivering greater bass efficiency than conventional ports. The center channel speaker also features a front firing port for added efficiency and bass response.
Anti-Diffraction Grille: The floating anti-diffraction grille minimizes grille diffraction for spacious, 3-dimensional imaging.
Dual 5-Way Binding Posts: The speaker has two sets of gold-plated 5-way binding posts connected by gold-plated jumpers. Using the dual 5-way binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speaker. The gold-plated 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.
Reversible Design: If the speaker must be positioned below ear level, you can turn the cabinet upside down, allowing the drivers to fire upward.
Adjustable Kickstand: The speaker features a unique Adjustable Kickstand for secure balance on shallow-depth TVs and monitors.
Magnetically Shielded: The speaker is magnetically shielded, allowing you to place it on your television without distorting the picture.
