Awesome Bass

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this from CF a couple years ago and it is awesome. Do a little research in terms of placement. I placed mine 3 ft from front wall, and approximately 12:" from the side wall. Used a steel floor grate; finding the grate was probably the hardest part. Floor install was scary but fun. My mistake was to cut within the floor beams, you need to cut outside of the beams so that your new cut out will sit right on top of beams.

Everyone is looking for the Sub when they hear my system and all they see is open space with little in wall speakers. LOL. forget the Bose, save your cash for your 3D DVDs!

Don't skimp on the polk amp either! You are gonna NEED it, it turns on and off automatically with any system.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was going for the clean room look for my home theater and this sub was a great addition. Before there had been some in-wall subs but at alot higher price. When Polk came out with this sub it fit the bill. I have it installed in floor which its alot harder to find grates to fit the needed hole size but after some searching online I prevailed. I have prewired for a second sub if needed. I'm very happy with the SWA500 amp thats made for this sub.

Really Nice Sub Option

Written by: Belter from Los Angeles, CA on September 26, 2006

I took a chance with this Sub, and am pretty happy. I am using a MA6100 monoblock amp to push it, but I think it would have more punch with the Polk amp that has the correct phase for this sub. I had it installed in-ceiling (single story home w/attic). Most installers never heard of this sub, and are hesitant, but the installer that eventually installed it was impressed with how easy it was. All in all, this is a really great sounding subwoofer for the money, and the ease of installation, and installation flexibility makes it ever better.

Mounting Options

Matched Amplifier: The CSW200 requires and is designed to only be used with the Polk SWA500 Subwoofer amplifier (107SWA500, sold separately). The SWA500 comes with a SPEX Card that configures the EQ, crossover, and power control circuitry to match the CSW200 subwoofer.

Woofer: The CSW200 features a long-throw 10" fiber cone woofer with a rubber surround.

Enclosure Construction: The CSW200 has rigidly braced MDF enclosure construction for low resonance and rattle-free performance.

Slot Vent: The enclosure feature and integrated slot vent for deep, driving bass.

Spring Posts: The CSW200 subwoofer has two sets of spring post terminals that will accept pin connectors and bare wire. There is one set on each end for convenience. When connecting the CSW200 to the SWA500 amplifier, you can only use one set of terminals - do not connect both.

Mounting Options

Mounting Location: The CSW200 is designed to be mounted between floor or ceiling joists. The CSW200 can fit between the tighter joist-spacing of QuietFloor or wooden I-Beam construction.

Mounting Brackets: The supplied brackets and wood screws allow you to mount the CSW200 to any parallel floor or ceiling joists.

Isolation Pads: When the enclosure is installed, it fits snugly against one of the floor or ceiling joists. To prevent rattling, two of the isolation pads should be installed between the enclosure and the joist, while the third isolation pad should be placed on the front panel of the enclosure.

Optional Grille: The CSW200 is designed to fire through an opening in the floor or ceiling. Once the installation is complete, the opening can be covered with an optional grille. The CSW200 is compatible with standard 12" x 12", 10" x 10", or 8" x 14" HVAC grilles.
