Go ahead, circle the parking lot till your favorite song is over. Polk Audio's DXi Series subs will make you want to hit "repeat" so you can hear it all over again. Polk uses a high-tech approach and ideal materials to give your tunes an exciting new edge.
Exacting standards — precise engineering where it counts
The DXi 104 DVC 10" sub features a stiff polymer composite cone and sturdy large roll butyl rubber surround, so you can ride the bass wave for years to come. Engineers at Polk analyze drivers in motion to ensure that cone movement is even and precise, so you'll get impressive thump with minimal distortion. Polk also uses laser imaging to craft woofer cones that are perfectly balanced to resist distortion-causing resonances.
The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire your system to draw max power from your mono amp or to safely hook up multiple subs. Pair this sub with the right amp and enclosure, then strap yourself in for a serious low-frequency ride.
Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?
A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.
Polk Audio DXi 104 DVC Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Ease of Use
I have two of these in the back seat of my truck with a 1000 watt amp pushing them and it sounds amazing
Pros: They have amazing sound quality
Ease of Use
I really don't review stuff ever, but i felt like people should know about this. This sub is awesome. I have it running of of 275 watts (Rockford(extremely good match)) in a sealed box in my little subaru and it is loud and extremely clean. I have had several people ask me either what kind of "subs" (plural) you have or when i tell them its just a 10" they are extremely surprised. My brother also has a 10" JL sub running off of 350 watts and this one blows it out of the water, sound quality and loudness. Really happy I bought this, great deal.
Pros: Clean, loud, musical, stylish looks,

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Ease of Use
Looks and works way better than i expected due to the low cost. i thought that it would not be any better than average even though it is a goo name
Quality Quality Quality
Ease of Use
I bought this subwoofer a year ago and built a 1.125 cubic foot enclosure for it. I wasn't expecting much from a $90 sub but was blown away by the sound quality. This is neither the loudest subwoofer nor the biggest but for someone who wants good sound while still having some room left in your trunk this cant be beat. I have probably abused this subwoofer with the 800w rms amplifier but it has held up like a champ. You could easily spend double or triple the money and get an inferior subwoofer. Buy this sub and use the money you saved on a high quality amplifier.
Pros: Incredible sound quality for the price and clean looks
sealed box bliss
i have this sub in a 1.45 cu. ft sealed box pushing 375 watts of clean power to it,and it sound very impressive for just one ten. hits just as well as my memphis power class 12. i would def. recommend this sub to anyone. Every polk sub ive had has been nothing short of amazing. Very reasonable pricing also.

Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 4-ohm voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2-ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents an 8-ohm load. Additionally, the coils can be connected to different amplifier channels and each channel will see a 4-ohm load.
Poly Cone: The DXi series subs use a durable polymer composite cone. The cone is both lightweight and rigid, and will withstand the harsh automobile environment.
Butyl Rubber Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to extremes in temperature, humidity, and exposure to sunlight for excellent long term reliability.
Dynamic Balance Driver Technology: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.
Klippel Optimized: For a driver to reproduce complex sounds accurately, the cone must move exactly the same distance and manner in both directions. The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, lets Polk optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.
Break-In Period: Subwoofers will achieve optimal performance once they are thoroughly broken-in. To break in a new DXi sub play music through it for 20 to 30 hours at moderate levels.
Sealed Box Volume: Polk recommends mounting this woofer in a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 0.66 cubic feet.
Ported Box Volume: Polk recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.25 cubic feet using a 4" diameter x 12" long port.
Bandpass Box Volume: Polk recommends a bandpass enclosure with a 0.80 cubic foot sealed rear chamber and a 0.85 cubic foot ported front chamber with 4" diameter x 9" long port.
