Exacting standards — precise engineering where it counts
The DXi 124 DVC 12" sub features a stiff polymer composite cone and sturdy large roll butyl rubber surround, so you can ride the bass wave for years to come. Engineers at Polk analyze drivers in motion to ensure that cone movement is even and precise, so you'll get impressive thump with minimal distortion. Polk also uses laser imaging to craft woofer cones that are perfectly balanced to resist distortion-causing resonances.

The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire your system to draw max power from your mono amp or to safely hook up multiple subs. Pair this sub with the right amp and enclosure, then strap yourself in for a serious low-frequency ride.

Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for lower impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible.

These are amzing fro the price. They hit so well. For the money, I wasn't expecting much but I'm very surprised. They hit way way lower than i expected

I built a custom box for my S-10 pickup and put two of these in it. They sound incredible. Hit very hard and rattle the crap out of my truck. And I'm only pushing them with a 500 watt Rockford Fosgate Punch series amp. Very solid subs and an incredible price. Couldn't ask for much more.

Pros: Sound awesome Great value

Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Currently running 350w through this beast and will almost rattle my rear hatch open but is still tame enough for subtle bass. Awesome sub all around, easily the best I've ever had.

I bought 2 polk dxi dvc subwoofers.Next I bought a polk 600 watt x 1ohm monoblock amplifier. Finally I bought a bassworx ported enclosure. these subs now hit hard enough for it to slow your breathing and can rattle counter tops and shelves in building when you pull up. If you know what your doing and set these up right, these things have alot of heavy clear bass for the power.

Pros: Good solid sound, Loud, Clear, and quite ruggid

Cons: Can bottom out if adjusted imporperly

Solid subwoofer

For the price, you can't beat it. I actually got this for $75 when it was it on sale. My old jl12w3 decided to blow up, so I need a quick cheap replacement. The sub appears to be built very well with proper parts. I was expecting the sub to have a "cheap" feel to it due to the price, that is not the case. The dual voice coil set up really helps you get the most of your amp. I am sending about 200 watts to this sub and it is plenty to let the sub do its thing. Overall the bass is much more well rounded, but that is bound to be the case when replacing an 8 year old subwoofer Sub comes with allen wrench screws, odd that they ddin't include a proper allen wrench. Obviously not an issue for those who already have allen wrench sets.

Features

Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 4-ohm voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2-ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents an 8-ohm load. Additionally, the coils can be connected to different amplifier channels and each channel will see a 4-ohm load.

Poly Cone: The DXi series subs use a durable polymer composite cone. The cone is both lightweight and rigid, and will withstand the harsh automobile environment.

Butyl Rubber Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to extremes in temperature, humidity, and exposure to sunlight for excellent long term reliability.

Dynamic Balance Driver Technology: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Klippel Optimized: For a driver to reproduce complex sounds accurately, the cone must move exactly the same distance and manner in both directions. The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, lets Polk optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.

Break-In Period: Subwoofers will achieve optimal performance once they are thoroughly broken-in. To break in a new DXi sub play music through it for 20 to 30 hours at moderate levels.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: Polk recommends mounting this woofer in a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 0.88 cubic feet.

Ported Box Volume: Polk recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.5 cubic feet using a 4" diameter x 10" long port.

Bandpass Box Volume: Polk recommends a bandpass enclosure with a 1.0 cubic foot sealed rear chamber and a 1.15 cubic foot ported front chamber with 4" diameter x 12" long port.
