Polk Audio engineers the MMC Series speakers for championship performance — legendary Italian design firm MOMO makes them look great! These upper-echelon coaxial speakers deliver component speaker sound quality in an easy-to-install, stylish package.

The Polk/MOMO MMC570 5"x7" speaker features a lacquered carbon-fiber woofer that provides the ideal balance of low weight and high rigidity. The woofer's Kapton voice coil former and flat Nomex spider contribute to high power handling capability. An airtight rubber surround stands up to humidity and heat for long-term reliability. The smooth-sounding 1" silk/polymer dome tweeter delivers direct, detailed imaging.

The vented cast-aluminum basket provides a totally non-resonant platform, so speaker output is uncolored. A high-quality outboard 2-way crossover ensures that each driver sees only the frequencies it was designed to reproduce. Dual nickel-plated terminals are provided for amplifying the woofer and tweeter separately. The speaker's low-profile and shallow depth allow easy installation in most vehicles. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced a set of Pioneers that had started making a weird noises. All I can say is WOW. I should have upgraded sooner. Theses are without a doubt the best factory replacement speakers I have ever purchased. (I have purchased Pioneer & Infinity before) The information on theses speakers say they won't fit in the front doors of a 2002 F250 Superduty....But they will. The tweeter does push against the speaker grill though. They make the speaker grill protrude less than 1/8 of an inch. This shouldn't hurt anything. They sounded so good within the next couple of days after listening to them I ordered a second pair to stick in the rear speaker locations. If you want a well rounded speaker that sounds noticeably better than stock don't hesitate...buy a pair of these and you will hear the difference.

good but...

Written By jake, houston, TX on Wednesday, February 20, 2008

these speakers are some of the best i've come across but they do not fit in the rear of a 1999 ford ranger crew cab. thats pretty dissappointing since i was so excited about getting these excellent speakers.

Great Sound!!!!

Written By AB, Houston, Texas on Tuesday, November 06, 2007

I have these speakers installed in my front doors of my 03 F-150 and they sound awesome!!! The high are very distinct and the bass from the woofer is solid. I have polk db's in the rear doors and you can hear the difference between them. I just wish they would fit in the rear doors as they do in the front. Great product and definitely would buy again and from Crutchfield.

Will Not Own Another Brand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These 5x7's sound just as good as my momo 6x9's. Man, I'm speechless!!! Remember the matting!! You will not be disappointed!!! I have nothing left to say!!

Carbon fiber...sounds great & sexy too!

Written By james, Trenton, NJ on Wednesday, March 22, 2006

I have these carbon fiber speakers in my door panels. They are solidly constructed and quite beautiful to look at too. This wouldn't make a whit of difference if the sound was inferior but these speakers are sonically terrific which makes them not only pleasing to the eye. I don't think a person would be disappointed with these speakers!

Nice sound

Written By Rick, Orlando, Fl on Wednesday, February 22, 2006

I picked these up to replace my factory speakers. I grabbed just one pair for the fronts for now since the rears are more ambient then anything. A real improvement. They are running off the factory HU so they could be better with an amp. CDs sound really clear with these, tho as any non sub, you won't get deep bass. You will hear the thumps, but only faint booms from the deeper bass. They are rated to handle 40hz, so I'm wondering if with a small amp they'd sound more full. I compared these to Boston Acoustic, JL Audio and Pioneer. The Pioneer was a joke, the JL Audio were very detailed but very limited with bass response-I guess they are desinged to be used with a sub as the bass rolled off very high and there were no mid bass responces. The BA were nice and had a little more bass, but none came close to the Polk which wasn't as harsh as the JL Audio and had more bass then the BAs.

Good repalcements for factory speakers off a HU knowing a sub/amp gives you real bass.

I have never been more happy with a pair of speakers. They handle all the power you can give them, up to 80 watts rms and peaking at 160! The rigid carbonfiber woofer gives music an excellent sound and the tweeters are amazing as well. Now i just need to get the momo subwoofer to match! Thanks crutchfield

Specifications Note

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Marine Certified: Polk/MOMO Series speakers are built to withstand exposure to moisture and UV rays, so they work well in boats and cars.

Lacquered Carbon-fiber Woofers: The lacquered carbon-fiber cones provide the ideal balance of stiffness and low mass for the clearest, most detailed midrange performance, and lowest distortion, of any speaker in its class.

Rubber Surrounds: The airtight rubber surrounds stand up to moisture, sunlight and extreme temperatures while allowing long excursion linear motion and years of reliable use.

1" Silk/Polymer Composite Tweeters:  The 1" liquid-cooled, silk/polymer composite tweeters provide clear, detailed highs.

Cast Aluminum Baskets: Each speaker has a channel-vented, acoustically inert cast aluminum basket for superior stiffness and better heat dissipation.

1" Kapton Voice Coils and Formers: Laser-based, Klippel-optimized, channel-vented 2-Layer 1" Kapton voice coils and formers offer high heat dissipation and extreme power handling.

NOMEX Spiders: The strong, fire-retardant flat NOMEX spiders allow extended linear motion while providing highly reliable mechanical and thermal stability.

Dual Nickel-plated Terminals: Each speaker has dual nickel-plated terminals for component-like connections.

ABS Magnet Boots: Each speaker features a waterproof, anti-resonant ABS magnet boot, which is removable for installation flexibility. With the magnet boots installed, each speaker has the following dimensions:

  • Magnet Diameter: 3.657"
  • Depth as top: 2.759"
  • Depth as bottom: 2.948"

Crossovers: The 2-way crossovers have big components for better dynamic impact and transparency. Each crossover has the following dimensions: L=4.698", W=2.426", H=1.033".

Crossover Connections: Each crossover input lead is terminated with tinned wire, and the two output leads (one for the woofer and one for the tweeter) are terminated with female quick-slides. The positive woofer lead has a 0.250" female quick-slide and the negative woofer lead has a 0.187" female quick-slide. The positive tweeter lead has a 0.187" female quick-slide and the negative tweeter lead has a 0.110" female quick-slide. These quick-slides connect directly to the woofer and tweeter terminals on each speaker.

Specifications Note

ABS Magnet Boots: Each speaker comes with an ABS magnet boot installed, however, the Crutchfield database measurements were taken with the magnet boots removed. With the magnet boots installed, each speaker has the following dimensions:

  • Magnet Diameter: 3.657"
  • Depth as top: 2.759"
  • Depth as bottom: 2.948"
