Really nice speaker!

I purchased two monitor 70's and a CS2 center to help start my first real HT system and WOW they are really nice. The sound they can produce at this price is mind blowing. No harsh tones through the highs --> lows, clean clear sound. The lows are pretty good for the speaker but I would still suggest a sub if you want some room shaking bass. The monitor 70's are Bi-Amped from a Denon AVR-2808CI and I think that helps the speakers perform as nice as they do. They look great and are seem to be VERY well built, again VERY impressive for this price range. My only complaint is with the feet, I wish they were adjustable, I live in a Loft with original 200 year old wood floors... The floors have been refinished, but at 200 years old, they will never be perfectly even. As far as Crutchfields service goes... They are amazing and make everything so easy for the customer. It does not matter to them if you are spending $50 or into the thousands of $$, they are friendly, treat you with respect and are very helpful.

Well-worth the money

After a great deal of research, I bought the Polk Audio Monitor 70 speakers. I don't like giving anything 5 stars, and won't here, but have detected no flaws in these speakers. Being a guitar-rock enthusiast, adequate bass was a prime requirement, and these Polk Audio Monitor 70's did not disappoint. With proper acoustic placement, you should NOT need a subwoofer. I have bi-wired my set (be sure to utilize this capability, and consider good quality 16-gauge speaker wire), running on an old amp and pre-amp, and the speakers significantly out-perform my old Bose pair. I could have sworn that Ritchie Blackmore was playing his Stratocaster at my house last night! And, you WILL notice that some elements of your music reveal themselves for the first time through these speakers. CD's which sounded a bit annoying on my old speakers was listenable, or better, on this set. great tower speakers

I've had the speakers for a little over 5 yrs now and am very happy with these speakers. with the right amp they sound incredible and can get very very very loud!. i have them running off a Yamaha HTR-5760 and plan on getting an amp to really give them some juice. the whole speaker blends very very well and the accuracy is incredible for the price. the tweeter is sensitive. if you have a cheap receiver and crank these up you WILL blow the tweeter. I personally found this out when I had them hooked up to an Onyko HTR-500. anyways, the bass is great, but not earth shaking which is fine. all in all for the price, the quality and craftsmenship is there. i will say the stupid grills are sensitive and cam be broken pretty easyly if u try and take off the grills in and award fashion. hope this review was helpful.

These speakers are amazing! The bass is the only thing that these speaker lack.You will need to buy a sub to complete your system. All in all these are great speakers for you r money.

Simply amazed at the range of these speakers. Even at high volumes the bass does no noticeable distortion to the treble. Superb speakers.
