I discovered a bonus extra stud in the wall where one did not belong and i ended up right next to it. it would have been very handy if the tabs could have positioned up and down and not just to the side. a large paddle bit and some boring-out later... i was back in business with horizontal-only mounts. also, the mounting tabs and tab guide sleeves are plastic-only and not incredibly durable through multiple mountings. while the above sounds negative, i still completely recommend these. they sound great, the other side which did not have any surprise obstructions mounted quickly and flawlessly and they are painted to blend in to the wall color which is a big win with my wife. Installation took 20 minutes (very simple). The quality of the sound is what I expected (good). Together with my Outlaw LFM-1 Compact subwoofer and Onkyo TX8555 receiver I have a very good 2.1 stereo system. The speakers are good quality and great value. These speakers sound great. I also like the easy way they install in the wall. There is no messy wires strung along the walls they are in the walls. I would recommend these speakers to anyone that need speakers. I also purchased the Polk 107CSR center channel speaker a day later and replaced my floor speakers with Polk R150 bookshelf speakers. 4 out of 5 Good speakers and great service from Crutchfield Written By Dan, Minneapolis, MN on Tuesday, March 01, 2011 I bought Polk Audio RC65i speakers to replace old in -ceiling BIC America ones. Installation took 20 minutes (very simple). The quality of the sound is what I expected (good). Together with my Outlaw LFM-1 Compact subwoofer and Onkyo TX8555 receiver I have a very good 2.1 stereo system. The speakers are good quality and great value. I did not want to go with larger and more expensive speakers because I wanted to use existing ceiling cuts from the old speakers. Was this review helpful? Yes | No

I am using them for TV speakers in stereo with a 5.1 receiver. High and mid tone is very nice. Fills the room. Needs a sub woofer if you want the best sound. 5 out of 5 Polk Audio RC65i Written By Cdminter55, Hopewell, Va on Saturday, August 28, 2010 I purchased these Polk 107RC65I in-wall speakers for the rear surround sound for my Yamaha receiver. These speakers sound great. I also like the easy way they install in the wall. There is no messy wires strung along the walls they are in the walls. I would recommend these speakers to anyone that need speakers. I also purchased the Polk 107CSR center channel speaker a day later and replaced my floor speakers with Polk R150 bookshelf speakers. As with the first set, the difference between those I replaced and these is phenomenal - no contest. The sound is fantastic. We have a smallish living room but these do an excellent job of filing the space nicely with good sound. I do not notice the bass deficit others mention but we have a powered sub so...The installation was simple enough but I would have appreciated a hardi-back template that I could level.
