They are VERY easy to install and sound great. Crutchfield had a great price on them and my order came in a timely fashion with no problems. I accidently bent one of the grills during installation and called Crutchfield for a replacement. Not only did I talk to a real person, they are sending out a replacement grill at no charge to me! Took my time so the job took 1 to 1 1/2 hours but the end result looks great and the Polks sound far better than I would have guessed. Glad I went with the 8" Polks. Pros: Templates are actually the correct size (don't assume they are with all in-wall, in-ceiling speakers). Mounting clips work easily and can be worked with a screwdriver (don't assume this will all speakers). Sound is better than I would have guess for price and brand. Cons: Nothing bad to say about the Polks. Also want to add: Everyone is complaining about how hard it is to get the grill off. Here's the fix. Someone posted it earlier. Use the screws/locking mechanism that hooks it in the ceiling or wall and push down on them pretty hard. Not pleased with the sound quality. They sound is muffled and lacks crispness or decent bass. Ended up not using some of these and coudn't return them as too much time had passed. Purchased Infiniti speakers and replaced a set with them and the Infinitis sound fantastic. Also wish as I had discussed my needs with the sales technicial that I had been recommended to use the speakers where Left and Right are built into one unit. Installation was exceptionally easy - literally just cut the hole in your drywall using the included template, hook up the wires, and turn four screws for each speaker. Took my time so the job took 1 to 1 1/2 hours but the end result looks great and the Polks sound far better than I would have guessed. Glad I went with the 8" Polks. Pros: Templates are actually the correct size (don't assume they are with all in-wall, in-ceiling speakers). Mounting clips work easily and can be worked with a screwdriver (don't assume this will all speakers). Sound is better than I would have guess for price and brand. Cons: Nothing bad to say about the Polks. Here's the fix. Someone posted it earlier. Use the screws/locking mechanism that hooks it in the ceiling or wall and push down on them pretty hard. 2 out of 5 Not Good Enough Written By David, Cincinnati on Thursday, April 21, 2011 Installed these speakers in basement ceiling for general use in 4 zones. Not pleased with the sound quality. They sound is muffled and lacks crispness or decent bass. Ended up not using some of these and coudn't return them as too much time had passed. Purchased Infiniti speakers and replaced a set with them and the Infinitis sound fantastic. Also wish as I had discussed my needs with the sales technicial that I had been recommended to use the speakers where Left and Right are built into one unit. Installation was exceptionally easy - literally just cut the hole in your drywall using the included template, hook up the wires, and turn four screws for each speaker. I am using these as a stereo pair in a secondary room, primarilary for music. The sound is very good.
