The Polk RM95 combines sleek looks with thrilling sonic performance. These compact, wall-mountable satellite speakers fit beautifully in most rooms, and they're a great cosmetic match for a flat-panel TV. You get two front speakers, one center channel, and two surrounds. The front and surround speakers feature two woofers set at an angle from one another, which helps them create a large, spacious soundfield with excellent response to the sides. Just add a Polk powered subwoofer to complete the system, and everyone in the room will enjoy balanced, full-bodied sound.

Each stylishly sculpted speaker sports a heavy-duty, non-resonant composite enclosure. The included wall-mount brackets let you pivot the speakers up to 180 degrees, so you can easily aim them toward your listening position for the best possible performance. Each speaker also includes a tabletop base for placement on a stand or shelf.

I'm completely satisfied with the sound quality of the speakers. My wife is completely
satisfied with size of the speakers. I installed this product in our 14'x18' family room and it
fills that area and the joining kitchen with big sound. I did match these speakers with a the
    Polk Pro 500 subwoofer.

I bought these after getting a 50" plasma to replace the 36" floor speakers by Polk that seemed to be in the way. Believe me, I was skeptical at how these little speakers could compete but w/ Crutchfields excellent returns policy I would've been a fool to at least not try them. All I can say is technology rocks! The sound is Incredible.... Do yourself a favor and at least try them, I don't think you'll be disappointed...

The free included Subwoofer (PSW-111) is was sold me on this set. I could not be
more pleased with my selection. I also added two pairs of the SA-3 Stands. WoW!!!

These are top quality speakers. A bit smaller than I imagined when received but the
sound is impressive. Wall mounts and table top mounts are included for all speakers.

Get the stands. The stands are a perfect match to them.

I am using them in a 7.1 home theater system - Center, L/R surrounds, L/R back
surrounds and Bose 401's for the L/R main.

The terminals are the spring retention type and are recessed into the bottom of the
surrounds, the center speaker terminals are on the back and all will accept 14AWG wire.
12AWG may fit but you will have to trim a few strands.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After researching for over a month i finally took the plunge and purchased the RM95 speaker kit. I upgraded the sub to the PSW125.
As this was my first true surround system, i was a little apprehensive because of the size of the speakers. I didnt need to worry. I hooked up the system to my Yamaha RXV465 A/V receiver, did the auto calibration, and was amazed!!!!!! I put in a CD, cranked it up & was truly blown away!!! The speakers are very crisp & clear, no distortion at all. You will definitely need a subwoofer with these, but isnt that the norm these days?
The sound field ,when watching movies is incredible, put in my Star Wars trilogy and it was like watching them for the first time.
If you are waiting to order your surround system and our considering these...... wait no more........ get 'em!!! You wont be disappointed!!

The Polk Audio RM95 was the finishing touch to my setup. (Sharp Aquos 46", Denon 1610AVR Reciever, LG BD390 Blue Ray player)

The kit was well packaged, all the bolts and install hardware was present and the instructions were clear. You'll need to buy wiring for this kit.

I also purchased the Polk Audio stands.

After installing the speakers, running the wires and calibrating the system, I was ready to go!

I played "Heat" (Al Paccino, DeNiro and Kilmer) and the results were spectacular. The sounds are amazing, makes you feel like you're in the area where the movie is happening. Any movie you've ever watched will be on a whole new level once you watch it with Polk Audio RM95.

This is an excellent system, plus I received the subwoofer free of charge.

Well worth the money, just make sure you have a good Receiver to feed the speakers and you're set.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently purchased the RM95 speakers to upgrade an old home theater in a box
system. I rounded out the system with a Yamaha RX-V765 & Polk PSW111 sub,
and this combination absolutely blows me away. The RM8s are in a large room with
tall ceilings, and I've found that the wide-dispersion design works perfectly in this
setting. I highly recommend these speakers!

I replaced my old floor speakers as well as a set of bookshelf speakers. My friends and family called me crazy cause believe it or not it sounded pretty good with my onkyo receiver. I went ahead and purchased the rm95's. Its like night and day from the old system. My speakers sound fantastic with music and with movies. My Sony sub sounds great now that i have the mids and highs i needed. It came with the atrium speakers as well, I hung them under the edge of my porch out back. I love to cook outside on my deck, now its hard to get me to cook in the house. My system is now complete.

I am very pleased with these speakers. I purchased the RM95 speakers in March 2009. I also received the sub-woofer with the speakers. I have them mounted on the wall and very pleased with the results. The movies come alive with this package. The den is 14x14 with 2 large windows and a double wide door opening. There is only 1 solid wall in the room. The room is carpeted. The sub pushes the bass out (I have the sound turned down), it hurts my wife ears, but I love it. I might have to replace my receiver (a THX certified Kenwood)

Best speakers you can get on a budget

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm beginning to build a 7.1 system and I chose these for my satellites. I read many reviews before purchasing and I'm glad I chose these.

So far I've only replaced the cheap Pioneers that came with my home theater in a box and already the difference is astounding. The sound is very full and detailed. Great for acoustic music, lacking a little punch for rock music. Awesome for movies. Just hooking these up solved the problem of too much sound effects, can't hear the dialog. Now I can hear every thing crystal clear.

The only complaint would be that they lack low mid punch. I'll solve this by purchasing a pair of good bookshelf speakers eventually and upgrading to 7.1.

These aren't for someone who wants the loudest most earthshaking system in town, but if you want a decent home theater system and you can't afford the best of the best, these will get the job done nicely.

    Awesome Matched Sound

Written By Jeffrey, Lincoln Park, NJ on Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Picked up this speaker set for a 7.1 system. They are connected to an Onkyo SR 706, RM8's and Polk PSW 125. Great value for a 5.1 system figuring they are all matched speakers and a nice dedicated center channel. Although only spring clips, you can't beat the price. You can either let the speakers sit on a shelf or use the included wall mounts. From my research, you can't ceiling mount them. There are no ceiling mounts out there that can mount to the bottom of the speaker (there is no rear mount on these speakers).

Polk Audio RM95 Home Theater Speaker System

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers about 4 weeks ago. They are being used in a 5.1 Setup with the Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer and a Denon AVR-3808CI AV Receiver. I was nervous at first that they would not have enough of what I was looking for, but I have been very pleasantly surprised. I am not an audiophile, but the sound seems truly amazing to me. I use the system for watching TV, watching Blu Ray movies, playing PS3 or Wii games and listening to music. In each case, I am truly impressed with the capabilities. I am sure there are better at higher prices but the value proposition here is unbeatable. I highly recommend!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had a very simple home theater package bought from a superstore. It was a Pioneer HTP-2700 all-in-one-box and included a simple receiver with 5 speakers including a passive sub for a cheap price
I thought the time had come to upgrade both my receiver and speakers.

I chose the Yamaha RX-V663 receiver and the Polk RM95 package.

I'm expecting the receiver today so in the meantime I have these speakers hooked up to my simple pioneer, and oh my goodness... The difference is amazing. I can't wait to see what will happen once I hook them up to my new amp. I'm glad I chose the RM95 package rather than the RM85 or RM75. The bipole design of the RM8 really help to spread the sound around so they are very forgiving when you don't position them ideally due to the room layout. I would recommend also to experience and pivot them to find out what sounds best for your setup and room. the difference can be pretty big..

I currently have a 5.1 setup so I might think about getting a couple of RM7's for the back when I update the setup to a 7.1, but for now, I plan on re-watching a whole bunch of movies just to see what I've been missing without these speakers!

A great premium starter speaker set for new home theater enthusiasts.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the Polk RM95 speaker system and I love them. They produce incredible sound at high volume without distortion. Immediately after I hooked them up I put on a DVD (Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) and was blown away by how the sound fills up the room. These small speakers handle 125 watts RMS so buy a quality receiver that puts out enough watts so you can appreciate the Polk's full potential.

I am totally satisfied with my Crutchfield experience. The speakers were sent promptly and arrived in great condition.

    Wide Array Clarity

Written By Lance, Monticello, KY on Wednesday, February 06, 2008

These speakers are well rounded and so far very strong. The clarity is very awesome for the price. $599 and I upgraded the free sub to 110 for 50$ I have these speakers in a open room(s) with 15' ceilings. My system is set up primarily for the living room but my house is an open floor plan therefore covering kitchen, living and dining room. I have the back surrounds about 12' high, mounted to additional brackets along with the original mounting brackets so I could get them to angle down toward the listening area. The brackets that come with these speakers are okay for left and right swivel, not for up and down. The center and mains around the the panasonic 42" at around 5' high. I am powering these speakers with a onkyo 705. These speakers make the whole house shake and with the extra speakers in the back surrounds it makes for a wider array of listening area not focused just to the couch! Crutchfield had everything delivered in two days, with excellent service. Thank's guys! The only draw back is the 125 watts(-one star), wish they had just a little more 'umph but, I am not complaining by no means. I would recommend these speakers to far....we will see how they stand up in time. They are the best bang for the buck period, thank you PolkAudio. It was very hard to find reviews to research these speakers because they are a bit newer, I hope I can help in someone's decision.... Enjoy!

    Small size, big clear sound

Written By Bill, Houston, TX on Sunday, February 03, 2008

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just finished watching the Superbowl with my new surround system and 42 inch plasma. The sound from these Polk speakers is not overpowering, but well balanced and clear. I am very pleased with the look of the installation using third party mounts. I installed them myself - ceiling mounted FR, FL, SR and SL; center under TV on audio cabinet. I really worried about the EXACT placement, but should not have at all. The bi-direction speakers are really forgiving. Matched up with a Polk subwoofer, and driven with an Onkyo 705 in 5.1 setup. Room size is 13 x 21. Setup speakers using receiver auto-setup, then fine tuned from there. Easy. My opinion these Polk's are a better value than Acoustimass 10 since they are very similar in sound but near half the price. Crutchfield is #1 for A/V equipment, and their commitment to the customer is unmatched - the reason they are so successful.

Yes, big speaker sound from small speakers

Written By Tricia, Aberdeen, SD on Wednesday, January 30, 2008

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Upgraded a large early 90's pioneer speaker system - yes, the big wooden boxes. Polk Audio was a familiar name to us (car audio). We needed some smaller speakers to compliment a piano black framed 42" plasma TV. From the description, these Polk audio speakers wanted the job.

Crutchfield also offered a Polk Audio subwoofer for free. That certainly rounded off a complete 5.1 system. The speakers came well packed, little weight, and are composite type. The finish matched perfectly to the flat screen TV. The mounts are sound and the speaker grilles remove easily (perhaps too easily). We used 16 gauge wire for connections, but this revealed some minor concern. The wire clips may be weak and varied from speaker to speaker. So don't hesitate to contact Crutchfield or Polk Audio if a replacement is needed. Now, the sound was awesome - granted those old Pioneers were old - these little speakers kick out some nice sound (small to mid sized room). Also, can't forget about that PSW10 powered subwoofer - decent bass and nice construction.

Overall - definite 4 star rating out-of-the-box. Wire clips could use some more bite - thats the one falling star. Performance is solid for normal listening - clear. Quality appears good, yet must see how they stand the test of time. If you don't want overwhelming speakers, this is a perfect touch to rounding off that home theater system.

    Great speakers hands down!!!

System Components: The Polk Audio RM95 home theater speaker system is a 5-channel speaker system that includes four identical wide dispersion array RM8 satellites and a matching RM8 center channel speaker.

Additional Speakers: If you wish to use the RM95 for a 6 or 7channel surround sound system, you can purchase an additional 107RM8CB single center channel speaker or 107RM8B/W satellite speakers to fill out your speaker requirements.

    Driver Technology
    Enclosure Design
    Mounting Options

    Driver Technology

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Center Channel Speaker (Center): The RM95's center channel speaker consists of two 2-1/2" dynamic balance composite cone drivers and a 3/4" silk/polymer composite dome tweeter for full-bodied sound.

Wide Dispersion Array Satellites (Fronts/Surrounds): The RM95's wide dispersion array  satellite speakers create a more enveloping, less localizable surround effect because the speakers drivers are mounted on opposing baffles for a broader and larger front-stage sound field and a more immersive and atmospheric surround field. The satellite speakers feature a designated left and right speaker for proper speaker placement of the front and rear speakers. The speakers feature two 2-1/2" dynamic balance composite drivers mounted on different sides of the speaker's enclosure and one 3/4" silk/polymer composite dome tweeter for rich, real life imaging.

    Enclosure Design

Enclosure: The RM95 satellite speakers and center channel feature an acoustic suspension, non-resonant composite enclosure with a high-gloss black finish for great looks and natural sound. The three-sided cabinet design minimizes the visual impact on walls and shelves while the integrated baffle and anti-diffraction grille design allows maximum sound dispersion with minimum diffraction for superior imaging and room-filling sound.

Speaker Terminals: The spring clip terminals located on the rear of the center channel and on the bottom of the array satellite speakers will accept pin connectors and bare wire.

    Mounting Options

Video Shielded: The RM95 satellite speakers and center channel are magnetically (or video) shielded for safe placement near your TV or computer monitor without causing picture interference.

Mounting Options: The RM95 wide dispersion array satellite speakers feature a removable base which allows you to place the speakers on a shelf or table top. The base adds approximately 0.4375" to the height of the speaker. The array satellite speakers can also be wall mounted using the supplied wall mount bracket which lets you rotate the speaker horizontally. In addition, the RM95 satellite speakers are compatible with Polk's SA-3 floor speaker-stands. The RM95 center channel can be placed on a shelf or table top with the supplied mounting stand and can be angled up or down. The center channel speaker can also be wall mounted using the supplied wall mount bracket. The center channel's fixed wall mount bracket does not angle or swivel.
