It's clear that today's movies, TV shows, and games are richly packed with exciting sound effects and dialogue. What's not so clear is the garble that comes out of a typical TV's built-in speakers. The Polk SurroundBar 6000 is an easy way to get back the audio goodness you might be missing out on. And at just under two inches thick, this stylish speaker is a perfect complement to your flat-panel TV.
Add big sound to your TV without a roomful of speakers. Sound bars require minimal space and wiring, and their sleek designs complement today's flat-panel TVs. Most sound bars have their own built-in amplification, so you won't need to use a home theater receiver. Some models use advanced surround processing and carefully aimed speaker drivers to simulate the effects of a full home theater audio system.
Excellent economic system for the price and easy to set-up. Have 2 and quite pleased.
Pros: ease of set-up cost control of subwoofer
Cons: not rue "theater surround" but close for what it is
Sounds great without all the surround sound wiring and complications.
Pros: Ease of use.
Cons: Not theatre sound.
My new Sony Bravia 50 inch TV has OK sound for voice but lacked any musical quality or excitement with Movies and action shows. The Polk Audio SurroundBar 6000 is handsome, worked right out of the box with the optical audio connect and adds the dimension that was lacking. It is not a surround sound system but I like to watch musical presentations and opera. I don't need the soprano to be screeching behind me. I get a broad panorama of sound I find very pleasing for most everything I watch and listen to. I do have a full surround sound system in my basement - my grandchildren love to experience 'Pirates of the Caribbean' with all the cannon fire but most things I watch are not that exciting and the Polk system is entirely adequate. The subwoofer adds a pleasing warmth and excitement when called for. The product arrived in two days, very protectively wrapped and boxed. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
Pros: Economical and attractive addition to a large TV with a satisfying sound breadth and depth.
Cons: Don't expect full surround sound.
There are a lot of reviewers who would have this unit be something it is not. It is not the solution to the surround sound needs of a large living room. It will not equal high end multi-speaker systems. What it will do, very nicely, is to give vastly enhanced sound and aural imaging, especially in a smaller room, e.g. bedroom. Think of this as a single purchase solution to enhancing the occasional movie in bed. You dont have to find room for a lot of equipment, either. If you are really hoping for a big movie or game experience - go to the living room where you have a bigger tv and a full stereo system.
Pros: small easy set up tv remote controls volume separate Sub volume multi-source input
Cons: Wont fill a large room surround imaging much better than tv, but still limited
The speakers were easy to plug in and play. They only thing I had to use the instructions for was the programming of the remotes for volume control. That easy.
Pros: Simple to hook up. Easy to use.
This system is a quick and easy way to upgrade any flat panel TV viewing experience. The wireless subwoofer works flawlessly and the sound from the bar parked in front of the set delivers a theater-like surround sound experience. I'm sure you could spend more money and if you have a really discriminating ear you might not appreciate this speaker set up but I just watched "The Avengers" and it was super.
Pros: Value, easy set-up, enhanced listening experience.
The soundbar is a great addition to our TV room. It sits in front of the TV, so we had to build a box to raise the TV two inches in order to use the TV's remote control panel located at the bottom of the TV, as well as to provide clearance to view the TV screen. The technician at Crutchfield provided assistance to get the surroundbar to work with our universal remote control. The instructions in the booklet didn't work for our setup so we had to trouble shoot with the tech in order to get the universal remote control to work properly. Things worked out well.
Pros: Great sound and good price. We appreciated the technical assistance provided by Crutchfield.
Got a great price so I went with this unit over one of the lower model # and i couldn't be happier, sounds great setup on my turntable, really great bass response
Pros: Really easy setup, nice to not have the aggravation
Cons: Finish shows finger prints, but otherwise none
This was the absolute perfect option. I'm done with cabinets full of gear, complicated remote switching and miles of cables. This unit gives me stunning sound, simple set up and operation, and all at a reasonable price.
Cons: None found yet
I really like the way it mounts on the wall, I paired it with the Sanus VF2922 wall mount component stand so every thing looks like it.'s part of the wall, a real clean look.
Pros: Great for a small room.
Crutchfield shipped the item quickly and efficiently. The sound system was very easy to install. The sound is excellent for the price that we paid.
Pros: Easy installation. Wonderful sound. Excellent price.
Cons: Remote is too small.
This soundbar is a drastic improvement in sound compared to the internal TV speakers. Mounting it on the wall under the TV was simple, but hiding the wires was a little difficult as they exit the bar from the bottom. Setting up my TV remote to control the soundbar was very simple. My previous home theatre set-up consisted of an Onkyo receiver and Polk components, and it was light years better than the soundbar. However, the speakers took up too much space and we needed the room. The soundbar is a great inexpensive way to greatly improve your sound quality.
Pros: Great sound Easy to mount
Cons: Difficult to hide wires because they exit from the bottom
Amazing sound and amazing deal. Saved $ compared to another retailer.
Pros: The infrared code learn ability took seconds to program the unit to my Comcast remote
Cons: None yet.
Wonderful sound compared to TV speakers. Fairly easy to set up, However, still unable to program the bar to respond to the TV's remote control .
Pros: excellent sound reproduction
Cons: remote control programming will not working . .
Great sound; terrific at the price point; no hassle installation. A reasonable method to significantly improve TV sound.
Pros: Quality; installation.
At first I was disappointed with the sound but when I moved the sub further away from the sound bar the sound became awesome.
Pros: Easy to connect
Cons: I was not able to connect my Directv remote. No big deal though.
great product. simple to install and setup, even the setup to use my existing TV remote worked like a charm. The unit found the sub no problem. sound is so much better than the TV on it's own. The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is because i am assuming higher-priced systems have better sound quality.
Pros: easy setup nice sound
This is a very good sound bar and I wanted to give it 5 stars, but couldn't for two reasons. First, the sound bar operates on a similar frequency as the Direct TV remote. This is a bad thing. When you tap the volume up or down button, the sound bar gets confused and changes sources. This basically mutes the sound bar, so you have to hunt for the Polk remote to change it back. (It should be mentioned that I worked on this issue with both Crutchfield tech support and Polk tech support and both were very helpful. Sadly couldn't be corrected) The second reason I couldn't give this 5 stars is that I have heard the Klipsch SB3 and I didn't think it right to give them both 5 stars as the Klipsch SB3 is definitely better. That being said, The Polk 6000 is very good. Had I not had the issue with Direct TV, I would absolutely kept the Polk. The sound is great. It has a thunderous sub-woofer. Watching movies is very enjoyable with the Polk 6000. You can definitely "feel" the sound. I would not hesitate to recommend this sound bar to anyone.
Pros: Sound quality, Sub-woofer, easy hook-up, tech support.
Cons: Direct TV remotes conflict with sound bar
Bought this based on alot of possitive reviews. Hook-up was simple. As for the surround sound, none! Much better sound than my Vizio TV speakers but not impressed for the money....
Pros: Clear sound, Sub
Cons: Very pricey for no surround sound.
Got a 55 LG LCD which as everyone knows the speakers on these not the greats...... This Polks sound great!!!!!!!! got the scratch and dent but seems like only the box was scratched and dented...... Speakers clean sub clean no problems here!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hook up a charm I have the original Bose 901 with the walnut cabanets and they are awsome but wanted something more 21st century......Polks rock!!!!!!!!
Pros: easy hook up, wireless sub...... clean finish the best instructions!!!!!!!!! great remote control transfer!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: None yet maybe later there might be but now #1 best buy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love soundbarsas they give quality when you can not do a 5.1 system. From Crutchfields , I have purchased sumsung hwe450, ,boston tv30 and the zvok zbase 555 and was prepaed to love polk quality- SURPRISE. The bar has some user issues like the optical cable being on the bottom and if the tv console gets jiggled sound stops, butall lights are on. The cable loosens and i thought the bar was bad until all rehooked. The bar needs a display for volume and subwoofer. SOUND is very good, tight lows, midrange and highs with fullness and the bar does not hide alot of the tv screen. The sub is the best of the soundbars including those listed above. Things rumble as exploded and car doors have a very hard thud and it is the most real effects. Polk produces quality sound and I will recommend this soundbar, but due to the fact of inputs and no display the price should be around $400.
Pros: Very good lows, midrange and highs.Sub is the best at real effect. The bar has power and fits nicely in tv console.
Cons: bottom optical cable input which can jiggle loose and there is no display for volume or sub. A bit overpriced-$400 would be a better price
Packaging arrived damaged, but the content was not. Work right out of the box. This is the simplest setup I have ever done on any of my audio/video. The sound is better than expected for my family room, which has a large patio door... the bass is solid. I only use the fiber optic cable to connect to my TV.
Pros: Compact. Sound great. Ease of installation
All I can say that it sounds great!! Only thing needed is a digital sound color bar on the unit when you turn up or down on the volume. Product is good suff!!!
Fills a large living room very well. I'll like how simple it is to adjust the sub and program other remotes.
Pros: Compact excellent sound.
I came UPS in a box that was hammered. But it was packed with that in mind the sound bar and woofer were just fine. My TV is setting in a cabinet so my setup was a little more difficult then most but after I figured how to train my remotes I love it. We use it for our sound for parties and it's great.
Pros: Great sound and size. The woofer setup is great.
Cons: The Optical Audio was missing a converter cable. Fortunately I had one.
The speakers/"sound system" in my 37" TV were just miserable. I had to turn up the volume to max in order to hear movies from the Blu-Ray/DVD and often had to back up hear what we/I missed. I wanted to fix this without breaking the bank, routing a ton of wires around the living room, or spending hours reading setup manuals... oh, and by the way... I wanted it to sound pretty good. True surround sound wasn't the ultimate goal. This system met all those goals and then some. From opening the shipping box to it being installed and configured was about 20 minutes. You just take everything out of the box, set up the sound bar (mine went above the TV), hook up power and the optical cable, and power the subwoofer. Being wireless, the subwoofer is just a plug in, and flip the on/off switch. The sound bar is the two connections and turn it on. It synced with the subwoofer on it's own. You can use the supplied remote, but I programmed it to have the Verizon STB remote control the power, muting, and volume (which also means it works with the TV remote, or the Blu-Ray remote since they're all programmed to control the TV volume, power or muting). The supplied remote also controls the subwoofer volume which I set once and I won't mess with it again. Now there's more than enough volume for ANY of my needs. The floor was vibrating when I cranked up the volume on a DVD last night. It isn't true surround sound, but it sure did what I wanted and I highly recommend this unit!
Pros: EASY set up. Sounds very good. Looks good. Doesn't take up a lot of room.
Cons: Not true surround sound.
What I really wanted was the Boston Accoustics Tvee 30, but it never went on sale and then listened to the Polk at a local big box store. I like most things about this soundbar including the solid construction, well laid out controls, existing remote integration, and nice sound (though very limited in surround). What I am not so big on is the boominess of the sub-woofer which is not tightly integrated as a complete package. This makes it feel overwhelming at times. Fortunately, you do have the ability on the remote to adjust the strength and can typically find a nice medium. However, as you switch between sources, what was a nice sound on the TV can shift back into boominess when hooking up the iPod (as an example).
My first unit failed to connect/sync between the soundbar and sub-woofer after a couple of days and Crutchfield's fantastic support team swapped it out immediately. The new one has been trouble-free (a week later).
Pros: -Well laid out controls -Decent connection options (though no HDMI) -Nice sound -Controllable sub-woofer intensity -Existing remote integration (the wafer-type one that comes with it isn't meant for constant use).
Cons: -Boomy Sub-Woofer (a pro, if you like that type of thing) -No HDMI connectors -First one failed to sync between sub-woofer and soundbar after first few days (at a distance of <15 ft)
The Polk 6000 is my first soundbar purchase and I couldn't be happier. It sounds awesome and is really impressive. Rich sound and tremendous clarity. The sub's independent volume control offers great flexibility and responsive bass and low tones. Really makes my music and movies come alive while using my Apple TV for HD movies or jamming out using the I-Cloud feature to listen to my iTunes music. Excellent purchase with great value
Cons: The remote is kinda small and you have to be persistant using it
Love it !!! Very easy 5 minute set up. Tell your friends. It's great. Not true surround sound but it's a great addition to my den for the price.
Pros: Easy set up.
Cons: Factory remote is a little cheesy.
Very easy to instal and connect; sound difference is amazing! Not full surround sound but much more depth and clarity than TV. Subwoofer placed in corner of the room is a great plus.
Pros: Much improved sound
Cons: set-up of existing remote control a little tricky but that was probably me!
Received my shipment is no time in perfect condition - Thanks Crutchfield!! Out of the box in 5 minutes and hooked up in another 5 minutes. Wireless sub connected and I was done. I set this system up in my basement and for my room, the sound is really amazing. This won't give you true surround sound like some of the other bars out there. For me, my sound quality is light years better than sounds from my Samsung 50inch plazma.
I would highly suggest you train your existing remote to control the sound bar versus using the supplied remote (hardly a remote - about this size of a credit card). The learn feature is very simple and quick - no issues.
Crutchfield recommended this product because it was small and powerful. As it turned out the warrant was the worst item about this product. Sub lasted just past warrantey. Crutchfield said it is past warranty and they cannot help but I can talk to someone and probably purchase something else. Next time I make purchases it will be based on the warranty.
Cons: poor warranty for the price
better than surround sound.
Pros: Big diference between TV audio and Polk soundbar
Cons: Hard to program Polk remote to Direct TV one.
Great sound, easy setup, great value for the money, sleek design
I wanted better sound than what was coming out of my Samsung 52" without bringing a big HT system into play; this worked perfectly! Bass had always been missing, and this little sub definitely puts out some rumble when it needs to. The 6000 itself does a great job of projecting sound around the room to make it "feel" like surround, a huge improvement over the tv itself. Even the kids insist on having the 6000 on for their shows now. I should mention that this is not a replacement for a 5.1 or 7.1 true HT system, but it does a great job for the family room or a bedroom. Money well spent for me! Features I'd like to see: a LED display showing the actual speaker and sub levels, and maybe some balance controls to fine tune the sound to the room.
I was skeptical of what a soundbar is capable of and I was impressed. While not a full surround sound system it does have a very wide sound field and performs as discribed. Sub sounded full and strong at all reasonable volumes. The Polk soundbar itself (no sub playing) had a fuller sound than the Boston TVee30 I compared it to. I was very surprised how well the highs were with just 4 full range speakers vs the mid/tweeter combo the Boston has. The Polk preformed just as well as the Boston in this area. I prefered the sub design on the Polk over the Boston. I thought the Boston played music a little better than the polk due to the music mode. The Polk system (sub and soundbar) blended better than the Boston on most everything. The Polk does the movies better than the Boston with its SDA processing. I like how these soundbars make hearing dialog without having to crank the volume like I had to on my old 5.1 system. My room that I tested the system in was 14x19 with vaulted ceilings. I was planning on having my 5.1 system installed but I think it will be too much of a hassle.
This product produces a fine range and clarity of sound.
Simple and quick set up. Good sound for what you are paying for, however not ideal for the larger rooms, more ideal for smaller rooms. I am using it in my bedroom and it works great.
Soundbar arrived fast and was very easy to hook up to wall mounted, plasma TV. Sound quality is excellent for the size of the soundbar. I did not want a receiver with a bunch of wires and this system provides me that. The only problem I had was that the sub would not remain on for longer than about 15-30 minutes. It would turn off with a flashing red light indicating that the sub was in a protection mode. I called Crutchfield and they (without hesitation) sent out a new system with return postage paid label. New sub works great.
Bought 1year ago and has worked just fine. Just after 1yr. warr. is up on "electronics", it does not work!! No warr. so we are out our purchase price. What a scam these new tvs are, terrible sound makes you buy a "sound system" that does not have the guts for a long life!!!! Crutchfield says call Polk! Polk says out of warr. Man this is a huge scam.............I am so sick of TV
With the Plokaudio name and most reviews Ithough Iwould give these a try. They arrived quickly and set-up was a breeze. The surround sound was much less than expected. I have never owned a surround system and after this experience I will go with the seperate speaker system on my next purchase. At this price I guess I just expected a little more.
awesome product. Easy to install great sound. Slim sound bar can fit anywhere.
Wireless subwoofer. Great kick makes a good boom. Bass can be adjusted to ur
taste in sound. Me n a girlfriend watched Paranormal Activty as soon as my
system was setup. All those surprises frm this movie scared us. With the kick of
the sub.... Highly recommend sound bar. Polk audio rocks:) !
For the money, as well as the simplicity of installation, this product cannot be
beat. Plug in the sound bar and the sub, connect the sound bar to your TV and
you are done. Undoubtly there are multi - speakers system that would out
perform, but not with the same ease of installation. Pair that with Crutchfield's
outstanding service...well worth the money.
My husband loves the sound coming from the polk 6000 sound bar. He can actually
hear the words clealry now.
I love the sub-woofer all the sounds.
eg thunder car chases, horses running, music.
I would recommend this for anyone who wants to improve the sound over their lcd tv
speakers . It was very easy to install and sync the remotes.
please don't put the sub-
woofer in a cabinet. It needs to sit in a corner and breath and bounce sound around
the room. We are very pleased with this unit.
Have had the sound bar now for 3 weeks. It works great with my new LG tv. Spent the
weekend with a marathon session of the last season of 24 on Blu-ray.The woofer really
adds to the action scenes.Would highly recommend to a friend.
This sound bar is absolutely the best!! Very, very easy to install and so worth the sound.
I never knew what I was missing, but now I do, and I'm not missing it!!
Crutchfield is very good on pricing and shipping was cheap and fast!!
Great sound, great surround, easy hook up, meets all expectatiion. Worth every penny for
this quality, 5 star
The Polk Audio SoundBar 6000 has been a solid performer since starting it up about 6
weeks ago. The shipping container arrived in excellent condition and the unit is very
adequately packaged to prevent shipping damage. I used the optical cable for
connections and have enjoyed the Dolby Digital sound from the unit. The surround
sound from the bar is quite good and the sub woofer provides solid base without
dominating the sound field. Audio is crystal clear. The sound bar was easily "trained" to
accept my existing remote's codes for On-Off, Mute, Volume Up, and Volume Down.
This allows me to use a single remote for everything except setting the sub woofer level
which i have not had to change since initial setup. Polk Audio makes solid equipment
and i would recommend this unit to others.
Excellent quality sound for music and movies, no wires running all over the place. my
living room measures 27'X17'x9' and it fills the whole room with sound. Excellent
sorround sound effects. Only down side is that you have to adjust your soundbar sound
vs. bass module a lot, depending on programming you are veiwing like, sports, music
and movies. Other than that, excellent buy.
We have a 46 inch Sony Bravia and the difference between the Sony's speakers and the
Polk 6000 Soundbar is amazing. The wireless subwoofer made the installation very
simple. Highly recommend!!
No crossover which means one can hear talking/voices in the subwoofer. This makes the subwoofer just a regular expensive speaker. Could not buy the 6000
sound bar with another better quality subwoofer. Returned the Polk 6000 Sound Bar.
Hooked it up sub-woofer quit shortly after unplugged checked all connections plugged in worked for awhile then quit checked here found this problem common. No surround what so ever either, sub is good when works.
This unit worked great for about an hour, then when the subwoofer got warm it quit working. So shut it off for a few minutes, turned it back on and again would work for about 15 minutes and turn off again. This happened frequently until I had enough and boxed it up for return.
I was very disappointed, because when it worked it sounded great and was just what I was looking for because extensive wiring for my situation is a real project.
I received this product and got it hooked up relatively quickly. I was happy with the
sound as it was a vast improvement over the factory speakers in my TV. The
product worked fine for about 2 days but then simply quit working. The blue power
light was on but no sound was coming out. I switched the optical cable from the
output on the TV to the output on the satellite receiver box to make sure it wasn't
the output port. I switched out the optical cable altogether and again tried both
outputs-to no avail.
I don't mind paying a bit of a premium for better products but do have more
expectations when I do that.
Now I can't get a replacement because they are backordered and the re-packing
process is cumbersome at best due to the amount of packaging.
I will re-review once I get a replacement unit.
Ok let me start by saying the sound itself is loud and clear. It will destroy the sound of any
tv speakers you have. The bass tube sounds awesome and really adds a nice effect. BUT
the only problem is there is 100% NO surround sound what so ever. In fact my room I have
this in is PERFECT to create surround sound as all 4 walls are close where sound can
beam off the wall and NOTHING at all. Is that not what this supposed to do? Well if you
want true surround sound then look for rear speakers. I was hoping for a little to the sides
but not even that. If it did just a little I would 5 star this because the sound is really
awesome and clear. So I will keep this sound bar but I am not 100% happy about certain
Great all-in-one solution, just don't expect what you could hear from a true 5.1, etc,
system. I was originally shopping for a system centered around a Definitive Mythos SSA-
42, but upon realization this new model was out, I took a chance and am happy with the
value and performance for about 1/3 of what I would have spent.
First off, the setup and functionality is top notch. I had no problems there, but I wish there
was a way to quantitatively know what the "bass level" is since that is the only adjustable
setting. Also, the speaker/sub modules are well-built and classy looking. The benefit of
a "clean" and simple install is a bonus to my application.
Most of my use for this is with a Panny 42" plasma watching live sports and some PS3,
hooked up with the digital optical cable from the hdtv. For this application, I have found it
to be right in its sweet spot. It's only been a couple of weeks, but I swear I even notice
some surround effects, although I am not sure of the true system capability there. Voice
and action is accurate, and the bass module, located in my den's corner, does a more
than adequate job.
Honestly, I haven't tried playing true system "testing" DVDs and CDs like Heat or U2's
Achtung Baby, and I know they might push the limits, but I am extremely happy with this
90% solution so far. For under $500 it's highly recommended in this class.
Very nice soundbar/sub. Wanted a soundbar that didn't "stick out" too far from the wall as
it is mounted under a Samsung tv that has their flat wall mounting device. Reviewed
everything (ZVOX, Boston Acoustics, Yamaha, BOSE etc.). The BA was nice, but the mids
seemed a bit muddled; Yamaha didn't have a rich/full sound. We have a ZVOX with
another tv, and it has a very nice sound, but their units are big. Almost got the BOSE, but
the speakers were larger, and the wiring rather limiting. Decided on the Polk unit and
am very happy with it. Nice, clean, clear sound with the sub rounding things out nicely.
Plus, it has a very slim look. Nice unit.
By the way, Crutchfield was very easy to work with. Clear website. Ample emails telling
you where things stand. Decent prices. Seems like a very professional outfit.
Overall, the product is OK. It was packaged nicely and setup was farily straight forward and quick. Lots of shipping protection on each piece and the box was huge compared to the items enclosed. The item did come with a fiber optic cable but, at this price point for a speaker system I I did expect it to be of higher quality. I also expected to have some user adjustments on the entire system. There is no adjustments for either base or treble and no volume control on the sub. This sub might be ok for use in a small office or bedroom. But appears very inadequate for a larger family or great room setup. Overall sound did improve by about 10% over the factory speakers in my flat panel TV but I was left wanting more out of the system both in user options and volume control on the sub.
Was looking for a sound solution for a bedroom/computer room Sony 37" flat panel LCD HDTV and this works very well. Big improvement over TV speakers. While it doesn't put out quite the punch that 5.1/7.1 systems are capable of it sounds great for such a compact system. I use it for listening to music from satellite radio/watching TV shows while working on the computer. Was glad to see the optical digital input provided with the sound bar as some don't include this option. Great for connecting to the satellite box. System was very simple to set up and looks great wall mounted with the TV.

Instant Home Theater (IHT): The Polk Audio SurroundBar 6000 Instant Home Theater (IHT) is a complete 2.1-channel home theater system comprised of a single self-powered speaker, a wireless powered subwoofer, and an IR remote control. The SurroundBar 6000 IHT utilizes two Polk 3D Audio technologies (Polk Digital Logic and SDA Surround) to deliver richer, fuller sound (with no rear speakers) to your flat-panel TV from a compact system with no complex hook-up or set-up.
3D Audio: Polk Audio's 3D Audio combines two groundbreaking, patented technologies to produce an audio environment that can only be described as 3-dimensional. Combining Polk Audio's proprietary SDA Surround technology and Polk Digital Logic processing technology produces a rich, enveloping listening experience. It reaches out beyond your TV screen to put you in the center of the action.
Dynamic Balance Driver Technology: Polk Audio's patented Dynamic Balance process allows Polk to design their drivers specifically for flatter frequency response, revealing the sharpest details and a more lifelike transparency, with absolutely no strain even at high volume. It's a bold, rich, warm, and lifelike sound.
Self-Powered SurroundBar: The self-powered surroundbar features four 2-3/4"" full-range dynamic balance polypropylene composite cone drivers powered by a built-in 160 watt amplifier. The speaker itself is lightweight in part because of the neodymium magnet structures in the drivers. The surroundbar features a black plastic bass-reflex enclosure with two rear-firing ports and a non-removable metal grille. The surroundbar can be placed on a tabletop or wall-mounted. It provides analog and digital audio connections to your television. The surroundbar requires AC power.
Wireless Powered Subwoofer: The wireless powered subwoofer features a down-firing 7" woofer and down-firing port in a bass-reflex (ported) cabinet. The 7" woofer is powered by a built-in 120 watt amplifier. The wireless powered subwoofer receives it audio signal wirelessly from the system's surroundbar, so there is no subwoofer cable to connect. The wireless powered subwoofer requires AC power.
System Frequency Response: The overall system frequency response is 40Hz-20kHz. The -3dB system frequency response is 50-16kHz.
System Controls: The SurroundBar 6000 IHT offers the following system functions - Power, SurroundBar Volume, Subwoofer Volume, Source Selection, and Mute. You can control these functions from the SurroundBar's touch-sensitive controls, included remote control, or your TV's remote control.
Touch-Sensitive Controls: The touch-sensitive buttons on the front of the surroundbar offers easy operation of the system.
Remote Control: The included IR wireless remote control provides wireless operation of the system.
Program Remote: You can program the SurroundBar 6000 IHT to respond to your TV's remote.
Sync: The Sync button is located on the back-panel of the SurroundBar. If the wireless subwoofer stops receiving an audio signal from the SurroundBar, press the Sync button to regain system connection.
Wireless Connection: The SurroundBar and powered subwoofer communicate with one another wirelessly. The SurroundBar sends the low-pass audio signal from your TV or connected source to the powered subwoofer wirelessly over an RF frequency.
Note: The SurroundBar and powered subwoofer come from the factory preset to work together. If the wireless subwoofer stops receiving an audio signal from the SurroundBar, there is a sync button on back of the SurroundBar to press to regain system connection.
Analog & Digital Connections: The surroundbar features one optical digital input and two stereo 3.5mm inputs to connect the system to your flat-panel TV.
Analog Connections: The surroundbar is equipped with two analog 3.5mm stereo inputs to connect your television (which may lack an optical digital output). If your TV is equipped with stereo RCA outputs, a minijack-to-RCA adapter is provided. The additional 3.5mm stereo input can be used to connect another audio device, such as your MP3 player.
Digital Connection: The surroundbar also features an optical digital input to connect your flat-panel TV with an optical digital output (optical digital cable included). The surroundbar supports 2-channel PCM & Dolby Digital through its optical digital input.
Placement: The SurroundBar 6000 Instant Home Theater offers various placement & mounting options for the surroundbar & wireless powered subwoofer.
Surroundbar Placement: The surroundbar should be centered under or above your flat-panel TV screen. The lightweight easy-to-mount single speaker can be placed on a tabletop or wall-mounted. It can sit on a flat surface because of its integrated rubber feet that enable it to rest securely. If your TV is wall-mounted, the surroundbar can be mounted right beneath it using the speaker's integrated keyhole slots (x2) on the rear-panel.
Note: The keyhole slots are spaced 25" apart.
Wireless Subwoofer Placement: The powered subwoofer receives its signal from the surroundbar wirelessly, so it can be placed virtually anywhere in the room (up to 50' from surroundbar). It only requires plugging into an AC outlet.
Power Supply: Both the surroundbar and wireless powered subwoofer require an AC outlet connection using the supplied AC power supply and AC power cords.
Auto Power: When their master power switches are left on, the amplifiers in both the surroundbar and subwoofer turn on automatically when the surroundbar receives an audio signal. Both amplifiers turn off after approximately 15 minutes without an audio signal.
