Music lovers and movie buffs alike will enjoy the smooth, clean sound of the Polk TSi300. Its silk tweeter delivers sparkling highs, while two polycarbonate woofers churn out accurate mids and lows. The braced MDF cabinet fights resonance so the details in your music and movies shine through. Dual five-way binding posts let you bi-amp or bi-wire the TSi300 for even better performance — a rare feature for a speaker in this price range.
A woodgrain vinyl finish gives the TSi300 a refined looked, capped by an elegant piano black top plate. At the base of the speaker you'll find sturdy stabilizer feet to keep it anchored to your floor, regardless of whether it's carpeted or non-carpeted. And since the speaker's footprint takes up less than one square foot, you can enjoy authoritative tower speaker sound without sacrificing a lot of space.
Sure, floor-standing tower speakers buck the industry trend toward smaller, visually inconspicuous speakers, but they're hard to beat if great sound is your primary goal. Tower speakers produce powerful sound with excellent bass, making them a great choice for serious music lovers and for folks who want high-impact home theater.
Set up yesterday, it's run through a Pioneer receiver, and the sound is remarkable! It's simultaneously full and nuanced; it's well modulated and comes through smoothly. I'm not a musician nor an audiophile, but to my untrained ear it sounds good enough to make listening to music a primary activity, vs. something on while I work.
Pros: Fantastic sound and amazing price.
Easy to set up. Good Sound for the money. This set was in the middle for pricing, but they have a good, strong base sound.
Pros: Good Sound for the money.
My 11 year old pair of Cambridge Soundworks T100 tower speakers blew out last spring, so after doing online research and seeing Crutchfield's great 60 day trial policy, I pulled the trigger on a ordering pair of the Polk TSi300s.
They came in two days, probably less than 30 hours of my ordering them actually. They were easy to unpack and surprising light in the boxes. I hooked them up to my early 90s setup of a Denon DRA 345 receiver run through a home audio BBE Sonic Maximizer. My two main sources of music output are a bit newer school; playing music from my smart phone via a blue tooth connection to the receiver and second source of music is off my Samsung TV.
I played the Talking Heads concert video "Stop Making Sense" and sounded it simply wonderful in nearly every audio setting on my Samsung smart tv. Playing music from Spotify on my phone such as Radiohead, Wilco, Miles Davis and Fela Kuti sounded equally sweet and satisfying. The highs and mids are crisp and clear and project beautifully without my needing to crank the volume which is important as I live in an apartment with neighbors on all sides. Though I have read many reviews that recommend subwoofer reinforcement, for my tastes, set up (namely the addition of the BBE unit) 300 sq ft hardwood floor living room, the bass is perfect, tight but without overpowering the clarity of the mids and highs. This has been one of the best purchasing decisions I've made in a long time and I'd highly recommend these.
Pros: - Sound Great, in small footprint - Perfect sound for small apartment
Finally convinced my mom(94) to purchase some better speakers and receiver. I found these speakers on sale at a great price and then saw an 'opened box' discount available at check out. Saved me(my mom) another $50. They showed up in 4 days. They are beautiful speakers with piano finish on the top which my mom loved. They sound sooo much better then the tiny Realistic one's she has used for at least 20 years. Connected to her new Yamaha R-S201 receiver the sound is very rich with sharp highs and decent bass. Overall, great shopping experience at Crutchfield.
Pros: Floor standing style is awesome, nice clean sound, beautiful finish
I bought a pair of these because I just got a 7.2 channel amp, and needed 2 front speakers to compliment the Polk Audio RM 7500 system I already had. My existing satellite speakers have a 1" silk dome tweeter, and a 5-1/4" midrange, with the center channel having 2 midranges. In talking with the customer service guy here, and talking with a Polk Audio tech, they both said that though these would not be a perfect voice match, it was REALY close, and should compliment the rest of my system nicely. In trying them out with my new Pioneer VSX-80 receiver, I think they work great. The front channels do most of the work, and frankly, I think these work better for the front speakers than the satellites, especially for music. Yes, with the small midranges, there's not a ton of bass, but the extension is lower, and that'a what i have the (PSW650 - 2 powered 10" drivers) subwoofer for. And so, with that setup, it works great. As part of a home theater system, I didn't want overpowering front channels compared to the satellites, and for this they work perfectly. In fact, I like this setup better because the font stage has more presence. For music, they're certainly better, though I'll probably buy a dedicated set of full-range speakers as my "B" set to switch to if I'm just listening to music. And for that, I'll be looking at much bigger, more powerful speakers. In a nutshell, I really like these speakers. They have the usual great Polk sound, and at a great price point.
Pros: Great speakers for the price! I especially like the shiny plastic tops, they match almost perfectly with the RM 7500 speakers I have.
Cons: They weren't free??? Other than that, nothing I can say.
I recently purchased 2 polk audio speakers for my house and I couldn't be happier. The speakers sound amazing but what really got me is the customer service from Crutchfield, they went way above and beyond any expectationsuggestions I have from any company. I will use this company for all my electronic needs.
Pros: Outstanding customer service
Great sounding front speakers in a 7.1 setup. They are paired with PolkAudio BlackStone 250 speakers.
These are matched with a pair of Polk R40 speakers - the sound of the TSi300 Speakers is spacious, has depth, and for me represent great value for the money. I am an audiophile who started in the sixties and, have owned JBL's, Klipsch bookshelfs, KLH, and Advent Speakers ! Love the sound quality !
Pros: Quality build, spacious sound with great depth. Reasonably priced.
Excellent Sound for the price
Pros: Sound Price
I am very satisfied with my choice and the sound advice Crutchfield people gave me in making this choice. The 300s sound very good in my 11X11 studio with hardwood floors. No subwoofer required since I listen mostly to jazz and classical music. They are an especially attractive choice now since they have been discontinued and discounted.
Pros: Quality sound at an excellent price, well suited to my music and my space. I don't need to but for fun I plan to bi-amp them.
I sold Hi Fi...OK, mid fi, back in the day when Polk was just making their mark. I loved Polk speakers, they were the Toyota of Hi Fi back then, they just went about making musical speakers and allowed beer budget, budding audiophiles a taste of the good stuff. They sounded great on all kinds of music, and they were affordable. Nothing has changed. I love this speaker, it is in a word, sweet. I threw jazz, classical, Metallica, you name it at this speaker, and it took it all in stride. They look good, take up little space, and with the port at the bottom, they aren't as picky about placement as some other ported speakers. They aren't perfect though. I ran them in a typical living room setup with and without a Polk sub, and with old school NAD amplification without a sub. I also compared them directly to the Pioneer SP-FS52 designed by Andrew Jones. The Polks are fabulous with a sub. However, so are the Pioneers. The Polks deliver a smooth, uncolored sound with fat (in a good way) bass, and a slightly boxy, recessed mid range. Very pleasant to listen to on all types of music. However the Pioneers have a more refined mid range and high end that showcase the Polk's flaws. The high end is detailed, but a bit forward and splashy, where as the Pioneers are more detailed and controlled. Bass is tighter and more accurate with the Pioneers, and there is more punch and speed evident. I like em both, and I'm keeping both! Polk brings it, but they can be bested.
Pros: Smooth, musical, wonderful bass, smart looking in a small footprint. Bi-amp capable. Sound great on a variety of music. Don't need a lot of power to shine. No serious flaws, affordable almost audiophile sound. Polk continues its tradition of hitting above its weight. Many hi end speakers fall short of the Polk objective of creating speakers for music lovers without the bloated price. Kudos Polk.
Cons: Splashy high end, less punchy dynamics than some competitors. A little chesty sounding. Nit picking, really.
I put a set of these with a CS10 and they match great. I have two (2) subs so these are for mid and highs only which takes some burden off the cones.
Pros: Loo great and sound great.
The TSI300's are very nice! they sound great with my Yamaha RXV-465. When I hooked them up, I thought they sounded distorted on the low end. The bass just would not come out smooth no matter how low or high I adjusted the bass. I added a Polk sub and got the same results. The sub was distorted too. Just when I got fed up and was ready to return the speakers, I clicked OFF the sound enhancer button on the receiver and Bingo, the bass and everything else was fixed! The bass was clean no matter what I did to the EQ and at any volume! Smooth, clear, quality sound with movies, music, etc.. with or without the sub. Sounds even better WITHOUT the center channel(sold the center). The Yamaha rxv-465 sound enhancer was the problem(sounds bad on music with bass with any speaker). A Pair of tsi300's, a sub, and a a/v receiver capable of 2.1 surround sound sounds just right!
Pros: Sounds great and they ain't cheap looking! Can't go wrong with the 300's
These speakers sound awesome!
Pros: For the price, these area steal. I haven't even put an amp on them yet.
Excellent speakers. Great for front left & right of a surround sound system. Impressive performance.
Pros: Sound quality, clarity & style.
I have paired these speakers with a Yamaha a1020 in Bi-amp mode. In stereo mode with the sub turned off, these speakers have a sound and clarity that is nearly indescribable. From stereo sound to front channel job in movies, they can't do wrong. To see what these could do for an old amp I connected them to a Kenwood VR-306 from 1998, Bi-wired. Nearly the same result, the a1020 is a hard act to follow. On the other hand, I would recommend the TSI300's for those looking to add clarity and depth to an aging system. They allow for later expandability with a present day upgrade. It's hard to find fault in the design. I would expect something of this caliber to be twice the cost but, thank you Polk and Crutchfield for not making that so. If you're looking for quality, you found it.
Pros: Frequency Response Bi-amp/wire Capability Sophisticated Appearance
Cons: None to date
Overall best speakers I purchased so far. Sleek solid black wood casing, superb quality sound. Adds a lot of style to any living room. Loving it!!!
Great Sound Quality, beutifull finish Superb value
Pros: sound quality,finish
Enjoying the sounds from my Polk Audio TSi300 Speakers. They are super for the price! The bass is sightly stomping and the treble works excellent with the bass, all sounds so clean and pure. Loving them!
Pros: Great sound for the value, nice futuristic appearance,
Cons: Would like to have more of the Polk audio type speakers, the bass could be bit more powerful,
Even after reading the reviews and doing the research, I wasn't expecting such a lovely-sounding speaker at this price. What other reviewers have said is generally true, they do sound a bit bright at first but that does seem to mellow out just fine. The low bass is weak as one would expect for a small speaker but it is clean and tight and rolls off smoothly with no hint of port noise. I use them with a subwoofer in a small room so the bass response is not an issue for me. What Polk appears to have done here is match a capable tweeter very precisely with a well damped and baffled ported woofer system. The result is clean, detailed highs with nice imaging and sound stage, no noticeable humps, dips, or resonances all the way down to where the bass falls out yielding musical midrange and accurate mid-bass. I am very pleased with these and they actually sound better to me than some much more expensive speakers (purely subjective of course as the setups and rooms were different). They get more than loud enough for me in a small room and don't seem to strain or color when driven. Voices and instruments sound real, which to me is the ultimate criterion. Lastly, our bird seems to enjoy them. The first time I tried them out the bird perked up and started dancing and singing to the music, much more enthusiastically and happily than with the old bookshelf speakers we were using before. The bird still loves them, so they have one bird's approval as well.
Pros: Great sound! Inexpensive! Can get loud but stay clean-sounding Look quite nice Decent sensitivity
Cons: A subwoofer is helpful/needed The dual binding post system is a bit finicky
Jury still out.....sound is nice.....but I guess that is the problem..it is nice. They dont hit you with the crispness I expected. Paired them with a Marantz CR610 receiver......just lacks "drive"...if that is the right word
Pros: nice sound. Good profile...looks good in room
Cons: not enough punch or sizzle
I lucked out and picked up these for a song! On super sale last fall 2013. Bi-Amped them with 90 watts to each set of binding posts. Cranked them for about a month and fell in love with the POLK TSi series. Since then I bought the CS20 center channel, and the TSi 400's,TSi 100's and the 440pro wi sub. Im a POLK fan for life. The TSi300's broke open into great sound after that first month. Now seven months into their break in I'm eve more impressed. Crutchfield is my source for expert knowledge and great service.
Pros: Value, Sound, Quality. Looks. ETC...
Cons: None. TSi 300 is a solid buy.
Not an audiophile, but I know what I like. These speakers are primarily used for a home theater set-up in a medium sized room...probably 18' x 18' but open to a larger great-room. These speakers are combined with a Polk CS10 center channel and RC80i rear speakers...and a 12" sub. I can't compare this set-up with anything else since it is replacing a non-surround set-up. There really is no comparison in that regard. This set-up provides an imersive environmentfor both movies and gaming. I've watched movies at other' house that have the smaller kit speakers and I can say that these provide a much more rich and full range sound. They met my expectations and exceeded my needs for the price. As a minor plus, they look nice as well...the piano finish on the top is a nice addition.
Pros: Full range performance, looks.
These have become my front speakers for my 3.1 home audio system, and my primary speakers for playing stereo music. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the recliner, closing one's eyes, listening to a great piece of music, and imagining each instrument as the Polks project its clarity. You'd swear you were surrounded by the orchestra!
Pros: Typical Polk quality in design, manufacture, finish and sound!
The TSI series creates a full sounding effect that has made my new theatre room the place to be.
Pros: Great sound and look
Sounds and looks good, but not audiophile quality, which is expected for the price. I previously used Polk bookshelf speakers for the left and right channels and was satisfied. They moved to the front high position, making the overall system sound more realistic with these on either side of the TV.
Pros: Good sound quality for the price
wonderful full sound
You expect big sound from a big speaker and you get it from this speaker and them some. I have been very pleased with these speakers that are the "2" of a complete Polk Audio 3.1 system that includes two of these TSi300's, a TSi CS10 center channel and PSW108 subwoofer. I am powering these speakers with a Sony STRDH720 AV receiver and watching on a Sony KDLEX720 TV.
Pros: Big Sound Attractive Easy Installation
These are amazing! I am extremely pleased but I can't imagine how much better the more expensive Polk speakers could be. Love the piano black finish!
Pros: Beautiful sound! I've rediscovered my music!
Cons: _______? Nothing!
I purchased these TSi's as front speakers for my 7.1 home theater system in my family room. My system is a Sony 46" XBR HD TV powered by a Marantz SR 6005 AV Surround Home Theater Receiver. The front speakers are the Polk TSi 300 floor speakers with a Paradigm Cinema CC Monitor Series center speaker and a Infinity PS 28 powered subwoofer. The back speakers are Definitive Technology Pro Monitor 800 bookshelf speakers and Mirage Nanostat satellite speakers for the surround sides. The size of my family room is approx. 20 x 14 feet. I just watched the Blu-Ray by Marvel "The Avengers" in 7.1 audio and like I said it rocked the house down. The high and low output from the new front TSi 300 speakers is amazing. This is quality at a great price.
Pros: Smooth Sound of Speakers
Love the sound and look of these speakers.
Pros: slim design, sound quality & price
I researched a number of speakers in this price range and found the Polk TSi300 to have the best all around performance. They are versatile speakers that can be used as mains, as I do, or in various arrangements equally well.
Fantastic mains for my home theater!
Pros: Crisp and clear sound.
The Polk speakers sit on both sides of the couch and are pointed to the recliner across the living room. Even sitting in the middle of the couch, the sound is incredible. I have to look around to verify that no one is playing the music live behind me. The value of this purchase through Crutchfield is excellent, the speakers sound great and there are no shipping/handling charges or tax.
Pros: Mid- and high-range response is great!
Cons: Bass is acceptable for the large volume of living room (16x18x20). I retained the use of my Klipsch subwoofer to help complete the aural experience.
I've compered these speaker with many other well know speaker companies and I have to admit that I was amazed when these ones came up to the stage. I wasn't a big polk audio fan but after listening to the "cheap small" tsi series I was sorpised. The speaker Very well built. Quality materials and a very unique desing that matches any moder decoration (my wife likes them) again these are the bottom and smallest in the tsi series. Bi-amp capable which is very rare in this price piont. Performance Vs, klipsh, energy (floor stander) and infinity and bose, I have to say that polk was the best to my ears. You got it let it break in. These don't have that much bass you really need a sub for home theater application. The mids are clear but the heights are very impressive even at very very hight volume. Over all they are the beets for the money even though there are better speakers then these. If you are looking for great performance without sacrificing you wallet this is the way to go. Crutchfield is amazing the transaction was smooth and incredible fast shipping. I got all the tsi series and the cs10 with a psw111 that I got for free back in December!!
Pros: Advance features in low cost speakers. Performed better then expected!! Very stable and reliable! Great looking too!! Small for a floor stand speaker but big sound.
Cons: Tweeter is not in the top part of the cabinet, I'm tall, when I sit down the tweeter is not to my ear level. Sound great anyway!
Very clean responsive bass I love them
Clean and stylish look. Sound is clean and clear, I wasn't looking for super loud. Just clean and crisp sounds.
This is the second TSi 300 I bought, I recently upgraded my HT system to TSi 500's(4), for the front and surround and a pair of TSi 400's for the rear. Like a lot of people I put the "old" system into the kids room. It has four TSi 400's and two 300's, and a CS10. I like Polk Audio TS series speakers because they look nice, aren't real expensive, sound great for what I payed, and are readily available. I don't need a ton of power to get good sound out of them, they don't eat up a lot of floor space. I'm using an older Yamaha 7.2 A/V amp. in the other room with a PS3 and a Sony 52" XBR5. In an average sized room with this set up, and two Polk PW10 sub woofers, it's great for most movie/game use. Also Polk has been making these for awhile, I bought 4 TSi 100's in '08, so if I need to add or upgrade I can mix and match and they sound good together. My system is now one 400 short so I'll be buying another one of those soon. All in all I'd reccomend these speakers to someone looking for a great sounding, inexpensive, attractive, well built speaker that still sounds fantastic even after years of use. Another nice feature is the floor standing ones are versatile, easily to place, move around, and have pointy feet to keep them located. Anyone looking for a bookshelf type speaker may be interested in these as they are at the right height for listening.
Pros: A lot of people sell them, Big box stores sell them at a discount in an "open box" condition, so pricing is attractive. They match other manufactures finish(s). They have good mid and high range, bass output is descent, however for movie watching(I watch Blu rays), I think a sub woofer is a must with these types of speakers, two subs would be even better I guess. I think I own twenty or so of the various sizes in the TSi series, from the 100 to the 500's, never had any problems with any of them.
Cons: None really, If I had to do it over again, I'd save up or find some TSi 500's on sale or whatever and get those(space permitting). Other than that for under $200(ea.), the TSi 300's are a fine sounding speaker.
Great speakers, and crutchfield had the best price.
good quality for the price
Pros: affordable, nice finish, good performance
Beautiful sound - Attractive price. The Pold Audio TSi 300 speakers are fantastic. These speakers handle any and all material played through them quite well. Admittedly, I was listening for the low end performance and they sound particularly good on when playing movies and and games. Can you get better sound? I suppose so, but get ready to fork out several thousand more dollars to get marginal improvement. Call Crutchfield and order these now.
Pros: Fantastic sound and excellent price.
Cons: They are tall speakers.
These are great sounding speakers. I replaced some older (1974!) Panasonic Technics speakers and I couldn't be happier. I'm no expert audiophile but I do appreciate crisp clear and clean sound coming from my sound system and I am getting that from these. I bought a pair, one was "Scratch & Dent" and the other was "Open Box" which saved me about $60.00. I can't find a scratch or a dent and the "Open Box" was re-taped so all-in-all that was a good deal.
Pros: Terrifically clear sound in beautiful cabinetry. Awesome service as always from Crutchfield.
Cons: Had I acted a week earlier and bought them when they were on sale I would have saved about $125.00. So...no cons.
I paired these with the Denon 1913 AVR for a nice addition to my Music and TV experience
Pros: Wonderful sound and quality. Great for the price.
i purchased these speakers on a"whim", didnt need them, i have 3 other pairs of very expensive speakers. i was researching another product for a friend and stumbled across these by accident. for the price i had to have them. these speakers are being powered in a 2 channel system by a 200 wpc adcom power amp and a tube pre-amp, a system in which they have no right to be in and they sound great ! do they compare to 1000.00 pr. bookshelfs ? no, but they are worth every penny i paid and even at the regular price, i would buy them again.
Pros: plenty of detail , very smooth overall , more bass than you might expect
Cons: can sound a little "woody" in the mids on some material
I like speakers that look beautiful as well as sounding great.....The veneer cabinets of the TSi300 are stunning (I have the cherrywood finish). Now for the sound...these speakers are quite good for the money. I have not heard a better pair in the $400 price range. Good bass response, although not quite as defined as I prefer but again, for the money this is a killer set of speakers. I use them for the TV, playing DVD's and CD's, and I'm very happy with this purchase.
Pros: Stunning looks, very good sound.
Cons: Bass is slightly muddy, though not bad.
These speakers have great presence in a room. I give them a five-star rating based on value basis. I purchased these on sale. I don't feel you can get a better speaker for that price. I feel that they are still a good value at list price which is twice that amount. The speakers could have a little more bass but that's what subs are for. There is excellent sound stage, tight bass and clear highs. Overall, I am very satisfied with these speakers and I have recommended them to friends.
Pros: Good looking, great sound and very reasonable price.
Cons: Could use a little more bass
A definite uprgrade from my 15 year-old Polk bookshelves. Good look. Nice sound. Seem to be overpowered by my Polk CS20 center channel - even though they are bi-amped to a Yamaha AX-A720 Aventage receiver.
Pros: Crutchfield service is a nice throwback to when service meant something. If I had thought to ask, they probaably would have suggested bumping up the towers.
Hooked these up to a Yamaha surround sound amp and a couple of Polk Audio book shelf speakers with a Sony center channel speaker as well. They sound fine. No complaints. I didn't expect alot of big strong sound, and they don't put out alot of big strong sound. They're nice low end speakers.
Pros: Nice low end speakers for a surround sound system.
Cons: They're not big on bass or powerful strong speakers. But I didn't really expect that with small 6 inch speakers. Good speakers but not going to impress anyone.
I absolutely love these speakers. I also bought the CS20 center and PSW111 sub. They sound freakin' awesome, couldn't be happier.
Pros: Inexpensive, sound fantastic
I am not going to talk this up as al the other reviews do, but I will say if you do not mid the towers on your floor and want AWESOME sound...This is it! Bang for the buck, hands down the best sounding sysem I have ever put together...
Cons: They are towers so if you do not want things on your floor this could be a con. To me, it ROCKS!
Really nice speakers for your surround sound especially if you have the entire set. the TSI 500 TS I400 TSI300.
Pros: By the entire set
Cons: You'll have no problems and you won't go wrong
Sounds great in Hi's and mid ranges and OK at low-will add a sub woofer to fill in. Looks great and the narrow stature fits well in the confind area \
nice low budget towers-i don't have surround sound, but these 2 speakers sound pretty nice all by themselves
Great value for the cost, a clear balanced sound.
The speakers for the price are awsome because the sound comes crystal clear, tight and neat. It will improve any speahers system and the sound at ear level gives an extraordinary surround sound. Thanks for the assistance of your consumer services personnell.
After having spent about 3 months with these speakers I have found them to be suitable to my current needs. They replaced a pair of Cerwin Vega RE-38's that I had for about 10 years that walked off a cliff like a pair of lemmings along with my Sony receiver. Due to budgetary issues I had to start back at the bottom end (in my opinion) in putting together a new system. The TSi's though are in no comparison to the Vega's in the bass department, but they stand on their own in the area of sound clarity. I have always been of the opinion that bigger is always better, but the TSi's have somewhat changed my opinion in that area. They take up much less real estate and I have paired them with the Polk Audio PSW111 sub-woofer which makes up for their lack of outlandish bass that I had been used too (though not fully, but it does hit those lows in just the right spots). I have everything connected to a Denon ARV-1911 which I am growing more attached to everyday. Looking forward to putting my pennies together in order that I may purchase Polk Audio's more advanced RTi A9's down the line and further upgrade the sub and the rest of my components.
Pros: Sound clarity, small overall imprint, quality construction.
I bought these as my primary front speakers for a 5.1 system in my main living area. I use them for about 50% music and 50% tv/movies. I wanted to get the 400's, but my available floor space had me limited. I was concerned the 300's might disappoint me. The Crutchfield rep told me I needn't worry, especially if I was going to Bi-amp them. I bought them knowing I could return them and trade up, if needed. He was right. These speakers fill my living area (with a vaulted ceiling) with rich and full sound. I am totally satisfied. Thanks, Crutchfield!
Pros: Bi-Amping these speakers really turns them on.
The Polk Audio TSi300 floor standing speakers are amazing, along with the other Polk speakers I purchased for a 7.1 surround sound system. The speakers were easy to set up, option of bare wire or banana plug. They are impressive looking and sound even better. A great speaker for the price.
bought to replace 15 year old bose bookshelf speaker, WOW, sold me right away. Now im looking for another s 4 for my basement. Im usinfg for surround front. You will love these
I used two of the Polk TSi 300's to replace the front speakers in my theater room and they make a incredible difference! I also purchased a sub, but these speakers could allow one to even skip the sub-woofer (although 500watts of sub-woofer is nice). Anyway, I'm no expert, but the clarity and shear crisp "loadness" of these speakers is amazing....needless to say, I like them.
Pros: sound quality and look
Cons: none to note
Great sound for the price! I have both tower speakers and center channel, the ideal combination for a great crisp sound.
I bought these speakers because I wanted a small fullrange speaker without having to use a Sub. I live in a townhouse so sometimes when I watch a movie or listen to music I get a text or phone call from the neighbors. Without a sub I can turn the TSi's up and have enough bass to enjoy video or music. No more complaints from neighbors. One more comment....With the two 5.25 drivers these seem to have better midrange than some bookshelf speakers with a 6.5.
Outstanding sound quality from these mid-tower speakers. I am using them
along with other Polk speakers for my 3-D home theatre system and they are
wonderful! Especially with the Polk subwoofer, I have terrific surround sound
since I am using these mini-towers as my rear surround speakers. Great
value for the money, IMO!
Purchased a set of TSi300's for my front left and right. I'm using them in a
bi-amp configuration by taking the speaker jumper bar out and using the Denon
surround amp for the upper speakers. Sounds very nice. Not sure why, but I
actually liked the sound of these over the TSi400's even though they are more $$.
This pair of Polk TSi300 speakers, in combination with the matching CS10 center
channel, deliver a rich, full sound, even without subwoofer. With subwoofer added,
the speakers churn out good mids and highs. But I also enjoy this set without the
subwoofer, allowing the three dual-woofer speakers to weave together the entire
range of solid lows and crisp highs.
I love these speakers. Not only do they sound fantastic but they look excellent on each
side of my tv stand!
Great sound, nice packaging, nothing to complain about.
The Polk Audio TSi300 speakers are great. I bought to use as my Front Speakers in my
Surround Sound design. The quality is terrific and also delivers very good range while
listening to the stereo or CD's. Great "bang for the buck"!
i was able to demo this speakers for a whole weekend played "bohemian rhapsody
by queen live, heavy metal, slow rock, pop and jazz.impressive to say the least
it does lack the low end a bit to make it complete, highs are crisp, mid range
clear.good performer over all!
Did a listening test side by side with many other speakers and absolutely loved these
speakers hands down. They are so crystal clear...you can hear each individual sound!
Originally I bought a Yamaha RX-V467 receiver with these speakers and never could get
it to sound right. I found that it had ridiculously high distortion rates, so I returned it
receiver and bought a Pioneer VSX-33 which has 110W RMS per channel. I then bi-
amped these speakers which provides 220W RMS total EACH which made these
TSI300s absolutely come alive. It's incredible how even a entry-level receiver can kill the
capabilities of a speaker. ***Try to have a quality amp with clean power...low T.H.D. from
20hz-20khz! My Pioneer is .08% from 20hz-20khz while driving all channels at 110 watts
*CONTINUOUS* each. To clarify bi-amping to those who do not know: These speakers
come with two sets of inputs, if you want to attach only one set of speaker wires, thats
great, just hook it up to either set of inputs. If you want to bi-amp then you (MUST) remove
the metal bar that connects the sets of inputs. Then your receiver...which ALSO has to
support this bi-amp feature...will dedicate another set of inputs to the speaker and you'll
use two wires per speaker. The thinking behind this is that you separate the tweeters
from the woofers and dedicate clean power to each. So if possible, I recommend bi-
amping these speakers. Regardless, they sound amazing for their price range...you
won't be disappointed!
I got these speakers to go with my Sonos B250. I was alittle skeptical about the Sonos 120 not having enough amp power to push these speakers. Boy was I wrong... These speakers rock, the highs are crystal clear, the mids are nice and tight. And no need for a external sub woofer. These speakers can handle the lows just fine!!! I love the sound quality of these speakers. I listen to all genres and these speakers are very nice with my sons hiphop, my wifes latin and my jazz. These speakers are up to the task. I love them, they will get there 1st real test this weekend, when we have a party at my house. If it goes like I am sure they will my friends will be impressed.
These speakers are wicked Loud. I was looking to update my surround system in my
living room. I have an Onkyo TX-DS797 which puts out descent power, about 210 watts
per channel. I cranked these up and it is honestly too loud sometimes that i have to turn
it down. They sound great listening to music and even better when watching movies. I
was most impressed with the range of sound that is produced. I heard things I've never
heard on songs I've listened to 100's of times. Another thing, I expected these speakers
to produce clear, accurate sound but did not expect them to produce much bass, I was
wrong. These speakers make my house rattle more than my old 250 watt powered sub,
while still produce clear accure sounds. I would recommend these speakers to anyone.
I'd buy them again in a second.
I bought a Polk sub PSW-111 to make my old surround sound better and it did a great job. Now that blu-rays have been around my old receiver doesn't decode DTS etc. So I upgraded to a Yamaha rx-v465. This made a such an improvement, but I was still lacking the mid-range sound. I was thinking about getting the polk surround rm85's but after listening to them in the store they didn't impress me. So I checked out the TSi-300 and was amazed. Once I got them home and hooked them up and ran the YPAO I was blown away. For music there is no need to have the sub and when it comes to movies, my neighbors now hate me. The entire sound stage is flawless.
These speakers sound amazing. I am playing them through an old receiver that I do not know where i came from. It sounds very good through this receiver. I am hoping to buy a Yamaha RX-797. These speakers are a very good buy for the price. I might also add I listen to music more than movies or ball games. I do not know how they would sound for those purposes but they serve my purposes great.
Ya know, people it seems spend an awful lot of time fretting over who else thinks they've made the right choice in speakers, what brands people favor, etc. For me, it's just about the music, plain and simple. I want to hear detail. The singer breathing in and out, I want to hear the squeal of calloused fingertips on guitar strings, the roughness in a vocalist's throat from singing in smoky rooms until late at night with not enough rest between venues. I want to close my eyes and feel like the band is right infront of me. And if that's what you want, no fancy processing, no crazy 7.1 setup, just plain, pure, straight-shot music, this is what you need. These speakers powered by a Yamaha RX-797, no sub...that's amazing. Every detail is there without a stupid amount of bass to muddle the details and drown out what really makes the songs I listen to immersive. Elegantly simple. Love it.

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.
Klippel Optimized: Using a state-of-the-art Klippel Distortion Analyzer, Polk engineers were able to optimize the speaker structure and cabinet design for the best possible performance, even at extreme listening levels.
High Efficiency Design: Compatible with practically any AV receiver, these speakers produce sound that is open, spacious and clear, even when driven by modestly-powered amplifiers and receivers.
Bi-Laminate Composite Woofers: The speaker features two 5.25" bi-laminate composite dynamic balance drivers which are light and stiff for deep bass response and low distortion. For high performance durability, each woofer uses a butyl rubber surround.
Silk dome Tweeters: The speaker features a 1.0" silk dome dynamic balance tweeter for detailed highs. The tweeter features mylar bypass capacitors in the crossovers to extend high frequency response and improve detail and transparency.
Frequency Response: The overall frequency response is 35Hz-25kHz and the -3dB frequency response is 47-24kHz.
Quality Built Cabinets: The TSi speaker cabinets are extensively braced MDF with ¾" thick baffles. With pewter accents, a piano black top plate and removable black grille, TSi speakers look awesome and take up less than one square foot. All models are available in a choice of black or cherry wood-grain vinyl finishes.
Narrow Baffle Geometry: Narrow baffle geometry is a design that creates a sleek looking speaker with great sound. The high quality cabinet is slender and tucks away easily in your room. The smaller-diameter speaker components are lighter in mass, translating to clearer sound.
Flared Ports: All TSi speakers feature critically-tuned flared ports. Flared ports minimize port noise ("chuffing") and ensure good low frequency extension with low distortion. With flared ports, TSi speakers reveal realistic, natural, full-bodied sound with rich bass. These TSi floorstanding speakers feature a down-firing power port.
Dual 5-Way Binding Posts: The speaker has two sets of gold-plated 5-way binding posts connected by gold-plated jumpers. Using the dual 5-way binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers.
Placement: Create an equilateral triangle between the speaker and the listening position. If you notice video distortion or discoloration, immediately move the speaker away from the video source.
Built-In Conical Feet: The speaker features four built-in conical feet to ensure stability for precise bass response and superior imaging.
