Designed and built for exceptional performance

Polk carefully builds their TSx-series speakers using advanced manufacturing techniques and high-quality materials — they put a lot into them so you get a lot out of them. Each one boasts Polk's exclusive Dynamic Balance® drivers — a bi-laminate design of fiber-infused polymers sandwiched together to form a strong yet highly efficient lightweight cone for natural, low-distortion sound. Polk puts these advanced drivers through extensive testing to find and eliminate resonance points, ensuring that everything you listen to sounds clean and accurate.

Polk also paid special attention to the TSx crossovers, using a high-performance design with premium parts like Mylar bypass capacitors to deliver smooth and extended high-frequency details. Even the cabinets themselves are built to sound better, using non-resonant MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) construction to help reduce audible coloration.

So far so good. Replaced smaller center speaker with this one. Guess it's much bigger than I anticipated, but not an issue. Sounds good....give it a little break-in period to see if it gets any better.....But really great so far.

Pros: Sounds great!

Cons: Wish connections on the back were recessed a little more so you could push it up against flat surface.

This center sounds Okay at first, but after playing at low volume for 50+ hours to break everything in properly, WOW, what a difference! My only hoot is that it doesn't match the cherry color/wood of my rtia7 towers, but I will eventually jump up to an csia6 center and all will be good, great value especially with the sell price right now! I would jump on this ASAP!

Pros: Good build quality. Sounds good paired with RTIA7 towers.

Cons: Plastic"y" look with the cherry color.

Very nice

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the TSx250C to add to my home theater system. My system consists of 2 Polk 75 T front channel, 2 Polk 65T rear channel, and a Klipsch RW-12d 12" powered sub. Powering my system is a Yamaha RX-A720 reciever. I am very pleased with this addition to my home theater system and would recommend to anyone looking for a quality center channel speaker at a good price.

Pros: Polk Qualty, Sale Price

Cons: None

When I first hooked up the TSx250c, the sound was muddy compared to the smaller CS10. I then put it up on a Sanus stand, off the glass shelf of my AV cabinet, and used it a bit, giving it a chance to start to get broken in. The sound is getting progressively clearly, better, and more colorful. The first day, I regretted replacing the CS10. But a week and a half later, I'm quite sure that this speaker is a great step up. I'm quite pleased.

Had used a JBL S-center for years but wife and I kept saying "what did he/she say?". Now, very clear dialogue and depending on the source material- pretty darn good bass too! Tech support pointed me to a Polk tsx250c, which I probably would not have considered. Glad she did!

Pros: vocal clarity, base tones, blends well with existing towers (no name), well built-solid (even if it is vinyl over MDF) reasonable price

Cons: not much

The highs, the lows and the positioning of the sounds are truly impressive; far exceed the performance of my old Bose center cubes.

Pros: Quality, Performance, Price

Cons: Size - I had to buy a replacement TV stand to accommodate the speaker. Not a problem for me but may be for those with limited space.

I've tried various types of center channel speakers(brands and prices) ,what makes this one stand out in my humble opinion is the sound reproduction, so natural and crisp with no variation of sound quality at any volume level.great center channel speaker .give it a try you won't regret it.

Pros: Good looking too

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was initially impressed with the size of this speaker which assured me it could easily handle anything thrown at it at any volume level--and it has, with aplomb! It is flanked by two equally sizeable 550t's that are bi-amped to improve high-frequency performance. As mentioned in my 550t and 220b reviews, I have a 5.0 system wired with Monster Cable XP sans a naughty subwoofer (which I may sneak in later:-) All speakers are set to "large" to maximize bass impact and general all-around "you are there" theatre realism--and it works! This speaker easily creates smooth vocals and upfront effects that seamlessly compliment the 550t's. The bass of ALL 5 speakers at once is bone-crushing--just like a real theatre; of course, I keep the volume at a comfortable level most of the time. The Tsx line requires minimal power to achieve all this--I keep the dial at -7db so my fillings don't pop out, ha! Now, if they only made a Tsx subwoofer (hint-hint).

Pros: Looks comfortable coddled between the 550t towers. Delivers whatever effects are thrown at it. Looks great.

Cons: I had to elevate my flat-panel a few inches to clear the top of the speaker for viewing, but I need to get a new shelf system anyway, and what better excuse!

Cons: None so far

Simply Amazing!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the last six years, I have had a theater in a box. Now, it wasn't just any theater in a box, it was a Yamaha. It had an actual receiver and actual speakers. Sure, it wasn't the best setup, but it was leaps and bounds above the more sexy home theater in a box setups that were a DVD/Blu-Ray player that hooked up to 5 horrible speakers and a sub. Recently, I have decided to upgrade my system and I decided to start with the center channel. All I can say is WOW! This speaker blew my mind. I thought my system sounded pretty good before! This speaker brought my system to life. I recently found out that I had my subwoofer set way to high. I believe I did that in order to compensate for the fact that my other speakers lacked presence. I turned the sub down and, although my system was more balanced, I felt as though my system lacked life. Then I added this speaker... This speaker gives new life to my system and has taken my system to a new level. The only negative is that it now shows me how bad my other speakers are!

Pros: Great Sound! Looks Great!

Cons: I knew all of these going into it, but... Size (it's huge!) Price (but, I'd say it's worth it)

Driver Technology

TSx Series Loudspeaker: Introducing the TSx Series of loudspeakers from Polk; stylish and quality-built for high performance. The high efficiency TSx Series loudspeaker features a unique curved enclosure wrapped in a wood-grain vinyl. The loudspeaker employs Dynamic Balance tuned drivers and tweeters for realistic mid-range, deep, well-blended bass, and incredible detail - for a classic Polk sound that is naturally open, spacious, and clear.

High Efficiency Design: The TSx Series center-channel loudspeaker can be driven by practically any electronics, even the most modestly-powered amplifier or receiver. Whether you're connecting them to the newest digital receiver, or to your vintage amp, the TSx Series loudspeaker can produce sound that's spacious and clear, enveloping and realistic.

Dynamic Balance Drivers: The TSx Series loudspeaker uses Polk's Dynamic Balance Driver Technology for great sound. Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion. Using just the right materials enables Polk to tune out performance-robbing resonances before they occur.

Klipple Optimized Motor: Klipple Optimized Motor employs a laser and sophisticated software for large scale analysis of the TSx Series loudspeaker's drivers in motion. Using this state-of-the-art laser and software process, Polk engineers were able to optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.

Silk/Polymer Dome Tweeter: The TSx250C center-channel loudspeaker features a 1.0" silk/polymer Dynamic Balance dome tweeter with a powerful neodymium magnet structure that delivers clear and detailed highs for realistic reproduction of vocals and instruments, without fatigue.

Bi-Laminate Composite Woofers: The TSx250C center-channel loudspeaker features two 6.5" bi-laminate composite Dynamic Balance drivers which are light and stiff with exceptional damping. These Dynamic Balance bi-laminate composite cone woofers use butyl rubber surrounds, polyamide voice coils, massive motor structures, and high-temperature aramid fiber spiders to create a driver of exceptionally high efficiency, clear bass, better linearity, lower distortion, and greater durability.

High Performance Crossover: The loudspeaker employs a high performance crossover system for optimum blending and time alignment of the overall speaker. Mylar bypass capacitors are used to reveal extended high frequency details.

TSx-Series Timbre-Matched: All Polk loudspeakers are timbre-matched within their series, designed with the same components throughout, to achieve seamless speaker-to-speaker blending effects in multi-channel systems.

Frequency Response: The TSx250C center-channel loudspeaker has an overall frequency response of 48Hz-25kHz, while the -3dB frequency response is 58-24kHz.

Enclosure Design

Curved MDF Cabinet: The TSx250C center-channel loudspeaker utilizes a unique curved cabinet design which creates a stronger, more rigid and acoustically inert enclosure. The elegantly curved side panels, which create non-parallel surfaces, reduce unwanted internal standing waves for less audible coloration. Non-resonant all-MDF construction, with a 5/8"thick baffle, ensures cleaner, clearer, more lifelike sound quality.

Note: The TSx250C center-channel loudspeaker is available in either a black or cherry finish.

Flared Port: The TSx Series center-channel speaker features a critically-tuned, front-firing flared port. The flared port improves air flow and minimizes port noise ("chuffing"), while ensuring good low frequency extension with low distortion. This flared port design lets the TSx speaker reveal realistic, natural, full-bodied sound with rich bass.

Anti-Diffraction Grille: The computer modeled anti-diffraction grille minimizes grille interference, so it doesn't get in the way of your sound. This black cloth grille is detachable.

Connections

Gold-Plated 5-Way Binding Posts: The TSx250C center-channel loudspeaker features gold-plated 5-way binding posts for excellent signal transfer. The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and banana plugs (single or dual). The speaker terminals are color coded for easy identification between positive (red) and negative (black).

Mounting Options

Center Placement: The Polk TSx250C should be centered above or below your flat-panel television. Not magnetically shielded for use with older CRT televisions.

Reversible Design: If the speaker must be positioned below ear level, you can turn the cabinet upside down, allowing the drivers to fire upward.

Rubber Feet: The center-channel speaker comes with self-adhesive rubber feet so it will sit safely and securely on your speaker stand or shelf. The rubber feet add approximately 0.625" to the height of the speaker.

Wall Mounting: The TSx250C center speaker does not feature any type of wall-mount bracket or hardware. The optional PinPoint center-channel bracket (121AM15B, sold separately) can be used to wall mount the speaker.
