Rock your tunes and your workout with the sound of Polk Audio headphones. The UltraFit 2000's on-ear, neckband design stays securely in place when you're on the go, and provides excellent long-term wearing comfort. These headphones make a great choice for listeners who don't care for the feel of earbud or in-ear style 'phones.
Control your iPhone® or iPod® with ease
Convenient controls on the earcup and an in-line microphone let you adjust the volume, skip tracks forward or back, and answer or end calls on your iPhone®, all without ever having to take your phone or music player out of your pocket. The '2000's moisture-resistant design stands up to your active lifestyle, and includes a variety of different earpads to ensure you'll always enjoy a snug, yet comfortable fit. A reflective strip on the neckband provides added nighttime visibility for safety. And the supplied clothing clip helps keep the cord out of the way while you're working out.
From the review Polk Audio Ultrafit 2000 Sports Headphones: When you find something good, run with it.
"Polk claims that the headphone cord is tangle-free. I didn't mean to test that assertion, but over a two-week period of jamming the 'phones into gym bags, backpacks, coat pockets and even the provided travel pouch I found it to be true. I never had to unsnarl the cable... From a practical level, the Polk Ultrafit headphones were a joy to use. And they sounded good, too."

I will say first that I have a small head and the behind the head piece has no adjustment so it sticks out or down in an annoying way. I wanted earphones that would stay in place while I garden. These do that and the sound is acceptable but after awhile they hurt my ears and because of the non adjustable piece could not be worn for use sitting in a chair with a high back, such as an airplane or car.
Pros: good sound not an earbud
Cons: not adjustable so fit is a problem
The Headphones looked great. I wore it for a few hours the first day around the house. No problem. The issue is I wear glasses. The next day I wore it outside while doing some outdoor work. The tops of my ears where the plastic wraps around became very sore. I also wear glasses and the plastic kept pushing my glasses forward causing foucs issues and it started to give me headaches. I really wanted to like these headphones. The sound was great. It was a little hollow sounding with silicon cover. I returned them immediately.
Pros: Looks, Sound
Cons: Plastic was cutting into the top of my ears. Not good for eye glass users.
Used it today for the first time. Very happy with it. Fits well with glasses, stays in place during exercise, good quality sound for the price, did not have problem changing ear covers, a big improvement over the earbuds I had been using. I recommend it.
Pros: Comfort Stays in place
Cons: None at this point
Great on-the-ear headphones. Noise reduction is not a feature of these phones. Both I and my wife got these earphones after being completely disillusioned with in-ear phones. We are both very happy with them. I find them a bit boomy when used with the plastic covers, but that may also be a function of the gym sound sources. I have not yet used one of the other covers provided. My wife does not find them to be boomy when using the soft cover.
Pros: Great sound, comfort.
Cons: Not as easy to get over the years as I would like, but this is a minor issue.
I love these headphones! I bought a pair of these on a deployment and never had an issue while doing any kind of workout. Over the years, the usual wear and tear took its toll, but these headphones are amazing for the price you pay. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wish it would work with Android phones/MP3 players. If you don't have a monster head and have an iPod/Apple device, then get these! They even come with different earpiece covers.
Pros: Music quality, comfort, lightweight, ease-of-use, durability, design, tangle-free cable.
Cons: Control buttons not compatible with anything other than Apple products.
I've got these headphones just recently to listen to music while having long walks and being able to have calls hands-free. I stopped using IEMs and I try to avoid Bluetooth headphones as much as possible.
I used O'neil-Philips over the ear in the past and Motorola HD-9 BT headphones as sports headphones. O'neils were making my ears to sweaty and HD-9 was not as comfortable so I gifted those to friends/family. Sound wise Polks are I believe better than both. They are slightly low end heavy compared to Beyerdynamic 880Pro and Sony MDR 7506. Not that they are in the same class but it may give you some indication if you are familiar with those headphones.
Comfort-wise they are surprisingly good, Although Beyerdynamics are also very comfortable, with those I can even sleep on my side and I would say I find them much more comfortable than IEMs when laying on the bed.
I read some reviews around the build quality and I would say it could have felt better built, time will tell.
As mentioned in other reviews, putting on optional covers on the cups are a little bit challenging.
With the ipod 5.5 and Samsung S4 not all buttons are functioning as designed but not a show stopper.
I would highly recommend based on Sound quality, comfort.
Pros: Comfort, Sound quality
Cons: Not all the buttons work on Samsung S4 and Ipod 5.5
Always liked Polk Audio product. Sounds great, extra ear pads not easy to put on. All in all a great product.
Pros: Sound, around ear design and volume controls
Cons: Ear pads not easy to put on.
Good quality and good sound.
I bought these to listen to music while I exercise (primarily aerobic walking). They are great for that purpose. I am sure they will also be great while performing other types of exercise as well, including jogging because of the way they fit/stay on your ears.
Pros: Great for listening to music while exercising.
bought headphones for working out and at work. they are comfortable and sound great.
Pros: comfort sound quality
Cons: not wireless
The Polk Audio Ultrafit 2000 headphones sound great and are comfortable. Most of the sports headphones are the in-ear type and have very limited bass. These headphones are full-range headphones with good high frequency and low frequency response.
Pros: Comfortable, behind the ear headphones. Better bass response than most sports headphones. The sound quality very good.
Cons: The attachment of the headband to the ear pieces could be sturdier.
Comfortable well made and great quality sound
Pros: All good. Sturdy functional and excellent sound quality
I have used these types of head phones before and decided to give them a try. Sound quality is much better than many other head phones I have had. They are very comfortable and are protected by rubber instead of foam so I should be enjoying them for a long time. Thanks Crutchfield for offering this great budget friendly item!!
Pros: Rubber ear pieces, affordable, very good sound!
Cons: Would have liked if they would have a separate volume control.
These headphones are fine if you can tolerate the hard plastic against your ear for an extended period. The cups are very thin and offer little in the way of cushioning - my ear was painful within 10 minutes of putting these on. The sound is good and the unit looks good and I didn't really expect any noise reduction so those areas are okay. Overall, I am disappointed in the comfort level and will be returning them.
Pros: Price point Sound quality
Cons: Very uncomfortable
You'll find other reviewers stating the same theme: Gee, I never THOUGHT my ears were malformed, but for the life of me, I could never find any earbuds that would stay in my ear or in my ear canal while I jogged. After trying several products in both of these categories, I decided the only choice that had any chance of really staying on during vigorous exercise was something that fit securely ON the ear, rather than IN the ear. I spent a considerable amount of time researching the Polk Audio Ultrafit 2000, since it was going to be my first venture into this new realm (other than a pair of airline headphones that were totally useless unless they were "locked down" with an uncomfortable elastic headband). Even with all my research, I wasn't optimist that they were going to solve the problem, but much to my surprise and pleasure, they're comfortable and stay in place very well. The audio is also outstanding, and although there is some sound-leakage, this is to be expected for any on-ear headset. It is not at a level that is going to be distracting to someone who is exercising next to you in a gym setting. Also, you need to pick up sounds from your surroundings when jogging outdoors. Actually, I think these headphones are a perfect compromise in that regard. I feel safer than when my ears were plugged with earbuds (until, of course, they fell out shortly after the start of my run).
Pros: Secure fit when exercising; these really solved my problem Comfortable Great audio
I am77 and having some trouble with my hearing so the max volume of a headset is an issue with me. The first thing I noticed was the sound which was excellent, except for the max volume and ambient noise both a little disappointing, however I corrected both with a 30 year old tennis head band. Volume was upped beyond my requirements and outside noise negligible and better than any noise cancelling phones that I've tried. I love these phone. Good warm sound and sound isolation that puts me in my private world.
Pros: Warm sound with good bass.that meets all my expectations for music.
Great sound with a variety of different style's of music. Comfortable even with glasses.
Pros: Tangle proof cord.
I wanted a set of headphones that would stand the test of time and sweat lots of sweat. I run about an average of 5 miles a day and workout another hour or so and needed headphones that were somewhat sweat proof and not absorb the horrible smell of it, we'll I found them!
The sound quality is good with plenty of bass and the comfort is excellent as it sits behind your ears for added security for us runners. You can control your music and take phone calls with your iPhone, iPod etc... The buttons on your ear piece make it easy to control volume, next track and answer calls.
Pros: 1. Sweat proof 2. Good comfort ( sits behind ears) 3. iPod, iPhone controls 4. High quality headphones
Cons: 1. Rubber ear piece sometimes come off, not a big deal. Trying to find something negative:) 2. Not sure if they are noise reduction. Really no big negatives!
Comfortable, nice fit, great sounding, versatile, bonus as a headphone and microphone for my i-Phone. Purchased as a replacement for my Phillips behind the neck set due to the chord connector break. These have a much more stable design. Sound control buttons are very convenient.
Pros: Sound, comfort, excellent bass response
.. Great sound. Fits great over the ear, first polk product and love it.
I purchased these headphones for walking, running, hiking, snow showing, ect. I haven't tried these under all weather conditions or activities as of yet, but at least as for walking and running and hiking, these headphones are an excellent value. They are much better than the in-ear headphones in terms of noise reduction (i.e., safety). And the fit is much better than sevearl other types or wrap-around headphones I've tried. The sound quality is excellent for the price (much better than Koss, which has been my go-to for years and years). The build/quality appears to be quite sturdy. My only complaint would be that the ear phone covers, for which they provide you with an amazing assortment for a wide variety of activities, are not always easy to put on. All in all a great value. Also, kudos to Crutchfield for the customer service/expert advice. You guys are awesome.
These Polk Ultrafit 2000 are Perfect for me. I have been searching for months, trying to locate quality over the ear headphones with a mic, allowing me to workout, walk/run or work. Dang these are great. I dislike earbuds, (allergic), which everyone seems to utilize. Controls on the ear are a bit different, but easy to get used to. thank you for these earphones w/ mic.
Pros: works great with iPhone comfortable & stays in place light weight good sound both music & phone conversations Quality product & appreciate the additional adapter jack & ear covers
Cons: No cons for me!
These headphones deliver the sound quality and base you'd expect to hear from a Polk product. They're comfortable and easy on the wallet. I've worn them doing things around the house and when working out and they stay in place. Great sound and a quality product!
Pros: Great sound. Great for working out / jogging. Comfortable. Works with Android or other MP3 devices. Light weight.
Cons: No noise reduction. Tried wearing them while mowing lawn and it didn't work out so well.
A great set of Headphones for the money.
Pros: These sound Great and since they are made for sporting/Exercise they are not delicate so you do not have to wrorry about babying them
Cons: because they do not fold they can be slightly inconvenient to store- but only slightly
When I look for headphones to work out in, I only care about one thing: will they fall off/out of my ears. I did a lot of research looking for the highest rated running headphones that never fall out. I landed on some in ear headphones that cost quite a but of money (~$80). After going outside and cutting my lawn, I thought they were the one. They had great sound quality and did not fall out of my ears. Then I went for a run.... I realize my ears are sweaty but after seeing the 5 star reviews for these certain in-ear headphones, I did not think it would be a problem. Unfortunately I was wrong and after just the first mile, both headphones were falling out. I finally landed on these over ear headphones and am very satisfied. Obviously they don't block outside sounds and don't have the deepest sound quality but the music definitely sounded good and they stayed over my ears no matter what I did. When it comes to running, over ear headphones are really the only option and I'd go so far as to say that these are the best.
Pros: Never fall off. That's all that matters to me.
Cons: People won't like the fact that they don't block outside noise but I don't really care about that.
I was looking for great sounding behind the neck headphones. These are quite handy in conjunction with my ipad because of the pause/play and volume buttons built in. They are very comfortable, and do not feel like anything is hanging onto my ears. Some sound leakage does occur, so in the office it is possible to hear my music if they are up too loud. Honestly turning them up is very easy to do because they sound amazing no matter how loud they are. The buttons do not work correctly with my android phone and neither does the mic, but due to the many different hardware manufacturers I am not surprised.
Pros: Sound quality, volume and play buttons, tangle free cord, carrying case
Cons: just that they dont fold at all which would help with portability
Best headphones I've ever owned. Stay on working out and running. Couldnt stand earbuds. So happy with them after 4 months. Thanks Crutchfield for video review of them.
I bought these because I don't like earbuds and thought they would be comfortable to use while walking. They were too small for my head (my hat size is 7 5/8). As I tried to make them fit, a piece of molding broke off so I can't return them. They still work so I gave them to my wife. Don't buy these if you have a big head. They are not adjustable.
Bought two pairs of these.. One for home, one for the office. So happy I went with Polk. I don't have anything Apple, but I do have an Android - and it works GREAT. No hiss as mentioned in another review. Sound is crystal clear with good solid bass. Music lights up in these. Best of all I can pause music directly from the headphone. Volume buttons don't work with Android - but I can live with that. Solid product - would definitely buy again from Crutchfield.ca. Thanks for reading and don't hesitate to purchase a pair of these - they are worth it.
Pros: Great sound. Solid bass. Feather-weight; very comfortable to wear. Rests on back of head, so doesn't mess up your hair. Solid 5 out of 5.
So nice to wear. Light on the ears. So glad I got them.
Pros: Price, comfort, looks and ease of packing them when going away
Cons: Haven't found any yet..
I wish the product was more compatible with other mp3 devices, radios etc. It produces a noticeable hiss with anything that is not an ipod or Mac. I have Mac computers and the sound is good, but the cord is short. It is also flimsy in its' construction, and not well balanced when wearing it. It does come with several types of covers for the speakers that cover the ears.
Fits well, looks sharp, and delivers great sound. I also purchased one for my wife.
Pros: sound-fit-and price is well worth it if you enjoy good music while working out!
Initially everything worked fine. Then as long as I kept the headphones plugged in, my iPod would turn on by itself and play, then the buttons didn't work. I couldn't turn the volume up or down, fast forward, nothing! I sent them back and got a new pair. I was using with my iPhone and now the same problem. Works fine at first. Now when the headphones are plugged in, the device plays by itself and the buttons don't work properly and the tracks will fast forward by themselves. The issue has to be the headphones. Two different pieces of gear with the same problem. The concept is sound and the sound is great but they aren't worth the trouble.
Pros: The sound is unbelievable.
Cons: It just won't work properly.

UltraFit Series Sports Headphone: Polk Audio designed their new UltraFit Series Sport Headphones to enhance your headphone listening experience while enduring your most demanding workouts, comfortably. The Polk Audio UltraFit Series Sport Headphones are engineered for comfort, performance, and durability. You'll appreciate how they fit and stay put even through the roughest workouts. You'll also be impressed and delighted by the dynamic sound quality of the UltraFit Sport Headphones. The UltraFit 2000 even offers an integrated remote + mic, so you can control your iPod or answer your iPhone on the go.
Dynamic Balance: Co-developed with the Johns Hopkins Center for Non-Destructive testing, Dynamic Balance is a design tool that enables Polk Audio engineers to pinpoint the elements that negatively impact driver performance. These same engineers then carefully control materials, interfaces, and geometries; resulting in a headphone with great sound.
Dynamic Balance Polymer Drivers: UltraFit Sport Headphones employ dynamic drivers much like those in a Polk Audio full size speaker; they're just a lot smaller (30mm). To meet Polk's predetermined performance parameters, their engineers took the same care designing these drivers as Polk Audio large speaker drivers; even adding a discrete crossover filter to each driver to naturalize the high frequencies.
Ported Enclosures: There are very small channels in the back of the driver enclosure, beneath the Polk logo. These are crucial to tuning the driver's frequency response peaks. And that means a better sounding pair of headphones.
On-Ear Design with Reflective Wrap-Around Headband: The UltraFit 2000 Sports Headphones feature an on-ear design with a wrap-around headband. The UltraFit 2000 incorporates a highly reflective insert in the back of the wrap-around headband offering additional safety through improved low light visibility.
SecureFit Support: SecureFit Support is a flexible ear hook that wraps around your ear, so the ear pad stays in place. With SecureFit Support, you'll experience a snug yet comfortable fit. Now, you can put your headphones on and forget about them during your workout.
Interchangeable Ear Pads: The UltraFit 2000 Sports Headphones include 4 pair of interchangeable on-ear ear pads.
Moisture Shield: The UltraFit 2000 headphones employ Moisture Shield to protect the headphones during your workout. Moisture Shield consists of a thin scrim on UltraFit 2000 driver screen. This filter material resists moisture that could get to the driver; so the headphones can keep performing through strenuous activity. Moisture Shield also provides an acoustic barrier to help smooth frequency response.
Ultra Flexible Tangle-Free Planar Audio Cable: Standard round headphone cables always coil up and twist; and are a constant source of annoyance, because they get in the way of your workout. Eventually repetitive twisting means the cable will break or pull out at the end. The UltraFit's planar design (with oxygen-free wire for better conductivity) completely eliminates coiling, so the headphone cables won't tangle up during a workout, or when stored away. The planar design also eliminates micro-phonics, the tendency of an electronic device to turn a mechanical vibration into "noise," which you would hear, in this case, through the headphones.
StrainGuard: Sports headphones get a lot of abuse. UltraFit Sports Headphones have been designed with this in mind. StrainGuard is a protective system that addresses the areas where sports headphones fail most often. A Kevlar core that houses the speaker wire provides extra tensile strength to prevent the wire from being pulled apart at common failure points. The other points of common failure in sports headphones are at transitional points between cable lengths and at connection points. In the UltraFit Series, all transitional connections are computer designed to strengthen the points where they fail most.
3.5mm Connector: All UltraFit Sports Headphones employ a gold-plated 3.5mm connector that has been designed to fit through the opening on most portable audio player cases.
Note: A 2.5mm adapter is also included for select mobile devices, such as Nokia.
3-Button Remote Control + Mic: The UltraFit 2000 features a 3-button remote & microphone so you can use your iPod, iPhone, or iPad on the go with built-in controls. The built-in remote (located on the right earpiece) lets you initiate play/pause, change tracks, adjust volume, or take a call (iPhone only) without ever touching your player. The in-line microphone (located on the attached 46" headphone cord) supports both voice control (for iPod/iPhone/iPad) and hands-free communication (iPhone only). The UltraFit 2000 is "Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad" compatible and supports the following models and functions (as of 12/28/2011).
|iPod Model||Generation||Tested Version||Audio Output||Built-in Remote||Built-in Mic|
|3.5mm Connector||Audio Playback||Playback Controls||Answer/End Call||Voice Control||Hands-Free Communication|
Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or wait until a newer software update is available.
Moisture Resistant Soft Case: The UltraFit Sports Headphones include a moisture resistant soft case for storage, transport, and protection of the headphones and its included accessories (ear pads, 2.5mm adapter, shirt clip).
