No matter what kind of sports or exercise you're into, Polk's UltraFit 500 headphones will be right there with you. Their silicone ear tips rest gently in the outer part of your ear canals while soft, bendable ear clips keep them firmly in place, even during the most challenging maneuvers. The built-in moisture shield helps ensure they'll keep going at least as long as you do. And a high-performance driver design allows these little headphones to punch out surprisingly detailed sound, delivering the kind of performance that'll inspire you on your next workout.
Pick the cable length that's right for you
The UltraFit 500s include two tangle-resistant, Kevlar®-reinforced cables to match your listening style. A long 41" cable lets you wear your music player on your waist or in your pants pocket, while the short 14" cable makes a convenient connection to an iPod tucked into an armband holder or shirt pocket. Or, you can unplug the extension cables altogether, and hook the headphones straight into an iPod nano®, iPod shuffle®, or other MP3 player clipped to your shirt collar. The UltraFit 500s come with a soft, zippered case for storage, and a clothing clip to help keep them in place while you're on the move.
I use these ear buds at my computer. I replaced speakers which were old and of poor quality with these UltraFit 500. Wow, what an upgrade in sound quality. It surprised me so much that I compared the 500 to my expensive headset in a little test. They both sounded about the same. I'm impressed. I now hear all the background which I never knew existed. I do not use the 500 when I'm outside so I have no comment on that application. To call the 500 ear buds may be a disservice to the product these things are a real serious product. I'm very happy with them.
Pros: They stay in my ears with great comfort.
These are the best headphones to get for someone who listens to music while working out. The unique design keeps the headphones stuck in your ear even if you happen to be jumping around. The sound quality is awesome. There is a fun feature for runners, where you can control the volume by clicking the controls on the wire instead of having to get all the way to your phone or device. We love it best ever!
Pros: All of the things. The sleek design and unique lines will make your music listening experience wonderful.
Cons: There are none, these deserve the title of King of all Headphones. Polk headphones are the unicorn of headphones.
I'm a music lover without being an audiophile---haven't the budget and therefore the experience, so take these remarks in that context. My regular headphones are Grados, for reference. I got these Polk's for walking around based on Crutchfield's advice. Very happy. Sound seems very clean, clear, accurate, and spacious for in-ear. Also very efficiently powered. Have to set the volume much lower than with any other ear buds I've had. Not for bass addicts; the bass is there, but it's proportional, not the whole story. So far I'm using the ear pieces they came with. Haven't experimented with the other sizes. Seem like a good fit, but I do start to get a bit of discomfort after an hour or so. The tangle-free cord really is easy to just shake out after carrying around bunched up in a pocket. The whole unit feels more solid that comparable ones for the price. I really have nothing to say about "coolness factor." That's not a metric for me.
Pros: Good clean, accurate, efficiently powered sound. Compact. Tangle-free cords are as advertised.
Cons: Gets a bit uncomfortable after wearing for an hour or so. Sometimes I do have a hard time getting them set right in the ear, and then around the back.
i love these phones. i have had them for a week now and enjoy every second i wear them. i mow 7 acres of lawns and these buds cancel out the mower. the case could be built better, though. its a hassle to try to put them in the case that comes with it. all around a five star product, though. i think i will get a second pair.
Pros: great fit, nice sound, and very comfortable
Cons: none that i know of
Good earphones for price.
Cons: light on bass
You'd expect them to aggressively stay on the ear, and be extremely comfortable, but neither is the case. And what a struggle to get them on. Having said that, sound quality is good.
Cons: Poor ear retention and comfort. Tough to get on.
Bought these for my wife and she loves them. Comfortable and stay put while gardening, she listens mostly to pod casts but good clear sound
Pros: Comfort, short cord, stay put, nice sound quality
too difficult to get on easily
Pros: sound is good
Cons: pain to put on properly
A little tricky getting them on. But just what I needed. Treadmill running, I sweat a lot. They stay in my ears.
Pros: I like them so far. I would buy them again
Cons: none so far
Surprisingly good sound with good detail, depth, and soundstage - particularly, for ear buds
Pros: They do a great job staying in place. Durable build and quality feel.
Cons: Bass could be deeper, but that's almost always the case for ear buds.
The earphones seem secure although they can become uncomfortable after a few hours. Sound quality is good.
Pros: Stay in place and sound decent
3 seconds into Tim McGraw song, these earbuds proved excellent. I'd been using my son's Beats at the gym, always feeling that the sound was dull. The highs cut off, clarity average on my ipod. I included these buds in my recent order, and wow, they are fantastic! Clear, clean sound, highs are clear, unreal great sound for my aging ipod.
works & sounds GREAT!
Pros: fit & finish , sound , & comfort
I purchased these ear buds for my two daughters 11,14. They fit the girls ears (small and large buds) well and the sound and noise blocking seem to be right in line with what I had expected
Pros: good looking, work well, fit is good. Price was right in line with what I was looking for
great head phones to work out or jog. excellent sound quality.
Pros: great fit. excellent sound. good price for the quality.
No complaints. These are very good earbuds for exercise and daily use.
Pros: Fit. Cable options. Earpiece options.
I've always had trouble with earbuds so I tried these. The Polks stay in place and are comfortable even when totally sweating during a workout. I bought a second pair as a present for a friend.
Pros: Comfort, different sizes so can be customized to fit your ear.
Cons: Don't have any.
Bought these to replace YurBuds. The medium size fit perfect and the ear wraps were flexible enough to improve hold. The cabling is much better built than the YurBuds of similar cost. Sound is a bit more bass-y and better but this could be because they stay in better...all I could hope for...
works as advertised. a little diffiult to put in at first, but practice makes perfect
Cons: awkward to put in ear at first
I was looking for some headphones to replace my faulty Panasonic ear buds. The sound coming from the Polk's phenomenal and the noise reduction is above par. The flexible ear hangers are great, able to fit them to match around my ears. My only complaint is that the ear buds were too large to fit inside my ear canal, even with the different size of ear tips. I don't know if Polk did a survey to find the right fit for people's ears, but if they did they failed. But, that's my only complain. I'm a designer, so I listen to music all day long while I work. From fitting the ear buds in place, then after a long day jamming to tunes while designing consumer products, they hurt obviously since the ear buds were too big for my ears. But I've been using them for over a couple of weeks now, and I believe my ears finally gave in and they don't bother me any more. Other than that, it's a great product.
Pros: Great sound, a cable that won't bind into a knot, soft carrying pouch, flexible ear hangers, and multiple ear tips
Cons: The ear buds are a bit large for my ears...
It fits perfect in my ear. They don't move at all throughout my run, even when I'm super sweaty. Great audio quality too,
There great headphones, I couldn't be more pleased with them.
Pros: Great sound, build is great and the design is pretty awsome
Cons: It is not always a perfect fit it takes a while to get a match in your ears
These earbuds are a great buy. I bought them for my boyfriend to use at the gym. He is very particular about how his music sounds and loves these earbuds, especially because of the price. He also says that they are very comfortable. They done fall out of your ears, but they are not too tight. An added bonus, they come we a carrying pouch.
Pros: Price, comfort, sound
We'll enginered high quality good bass Nice high quality cord plus Cyrus cord
Pros: Nice exclusive design with non slip ear pieces
Cons: Even though bass is above average sound blurry compared to the other 4 units I have.
This is an excellent product, exactly the one I needed to listen to music during my daily walks.
Got these for the gym and after a couple of plays they really sound good they fit nice in the ears and don't pop out don't have to constantly adjust like other in ear headphones every thing you could want in a sport headphone sweet proof great fit and good build quality
I bought these for my 14 year old daughter. The sound was very good but the fit was bad. No matter how we adjusted them we could not get them to stay. They come with three different size ear pieces but even the smallest would not stay. She also kept commenting on the "over the ear" holder. She said it was uncomfortable. Perhaps this is just made for adults but it didn't work for our needs.
dissapointed in this product. I expected better sound quality from Polk Audio. Good Bass. Little Midrange. Practically no Highend. Confort not the best either.
These are awesome and stay in place even during the most arduous workout.
Pros: Great sound and comfort.
May be a good product but not if you have small ears. Wasn't comfortable and it was returned.
Pros: Great return policy
Cons: Not for small ears
Once you fit the right size cones,, these headphones fit well and stay in. The sound is great as well.
Pros: Good fit with multiple size cones.
I just could not get this headphones to fit right...they come with 3 sets of silicone ear tips (small, medium, and large). The small silicone ear tip was way too big to fit me. You need to have a huge head with a giant earhole for them to fit right. Can't really say anything about how they sound, as I couldn't even get the headphnes to stay in my ears.
These headphones are Great for Music. Not so much with DVDs. The Small ear adapters fit GREAT.
Pros: Cord Length, Adapter sizes
Cons: Wish they had Android Control model.
These earbuds fit better than my Bose earbuds and cost less than half as much. The sound quality is not quite as good as the Bose but it is more than adequate for utilization when exercising. The comfort is great!
Pros: Fit and comfort is great!
Cons: Slightly deminished sound quality compared to high end products but certainly more tha adequate for exercising
You can hardly tell that you have it on.
Excellent sound quality and fit for the money; highly recommend--especially for active individuals
All aspects decent, with the exception of sound quality, which is very poor. Muddy.
Pros: Comfort, construction
Cons: Sound quality
The sound is amazing on these. The only problem is that that seem to cut in and out sometimes during my workout. I do sweat a lot and it seems as though this may contribute to the issue as it usually happens later in the workout.
Ok product not happy with the sound quality.
Pros: Great fit stays in place
Cons: Sound quality
These headphones' are an excellent purchase for those into serious workouts, sports!
Pros: Fit, sound quality
Okay product, sound is too muddy and lacks highs. They do stay in ears as advertised, they are pretty comfortable. I am returning these as I just got the Ultrafit 3000. The sound from the Ultrafit 3000 is much better, not muddy, highs are high and lows are low, but I don't think they offer as much bass as a comparably priced Sony EX series. Over all the Ultrafit 500 is decent for the price, but I am glad I spent the extra on the Ultrafit 3000
Pros: Stays in ears during workout - cord does not tangle or kink
This is a great product. They sound pretty good for ear buds and most importantly they stay in. I am a big guy and also wear glasses. When I run I have allot of perspiration, so I must take off my glasses as I wipe off. The ear buds stay in place. The no tangle cord is awesome as well as the storage bag. I am very pleased with this product.
Pros: They do what they say they will.
I bought these to replace the white buds that come with ipod. The Ultra Fits do have a much fuller sound and stay in place as advertised. I can wear sunglasses with these but they do tend to slide just a bit, but nothing to really complain about. I'm just very happy to have better sounding music.
I am so not a fan of these. I asked for, and was given a set as a Christmas Present, and I was so disappointed. They only sound good if you press them deep in your ear, and they won't stay there. So you have to manually hold them in for the duration of your listening. Soon as they slide out the bass all but disappears, and the treble distorts. My $20 se was better previously.
Pros: They fit nice and look cool
Cons: The sound aweful.
These earphones are clear, good bass, not tinny or muffled and rival the performance of much more expensive ear buds. They stay in well once inserted but take a few moments to insert. They are also durable and come with a padded case that will fit in a pocket. These are a great buy and what one would expect from Polk Audio.
Pros: The sound, cost, durability and functionality.
I use these ear phones with a Sony Walkman CD player when I do cardio at home, and let me tell you...I notice a big difference in the sound quality. These ear phones have a low noise output with accurate bass and crisp highs. The fit is supurb with mininal to no escape of sound. They are a great value for the price.
Pros: Low noise output. Nice punch to the bass. Contour of the earpiece provides a snug and comfortable fit.
Crisp sound, secure fit, a shirt clip for the cable, moisture shield so music sounds flawless while doing your extreme workout(s) and a padded case. These headphones complete my iPod perfectly.
Great product, fits securely doesnt shake or fall out while moving. Would probably opt for the set with volume control. Music is clear and crisp with great bass.

UltraFit Series Sports Headphone: Polk Audio designed their new UltraFit Series Sport Headphones to enhance your headphone listening experience while enduring your most demanding workouts, comfortably. The Polk Audio UltraFit Series Sport Headphones are engineered for comfort, performance, and durability. You'll appreciate how they fit and stay put even through the roughest workouts. You'll also be impressed and delighted by the dynamic sound quality of the UltraFit Sport Headphones.
Dynamic Balance: Co-developed with the Johns Hopkins Center for Non-Destructive testing, Dynamic Balance is a design tool that enables Polk Audio engineers to pinpoint the elements that negatively impact driver performance. These same engineers then carefully control materials, interfaces, and geometries; resulting in a headphone with great sound.
Dynamic Balance Polymer Drivers: UltraFit Sport Headphones employ dynamic drivers much like those in a Polk Audio full size speaker; they're just a lot smaller (14.2mm). To meet Polk's predetermined performance parameters, their engineers took the same care designing these drivers as Polk Audio large speaker drivers; even adding a discrete crossover filter to each driver to naturalize the high frequencies.
Ported Enclosures: UltraFit Sports Headphones are ported, since there is the port (ear piece) you put in your ear. There are also very small channels in the back of the driver enclosure, beneath the Polk logo. These are crucial to tuning the driver's frequency response peaks. And that means a better sounding pair of headphones.
Moisture Shield: The UltraFit 500 headphones employ Moisture Shield to protect the headphones during your workout. Moisture Shield consists of a thin scrim on UltraFit 500 driver screen. This filter material resists moisture that could get to the driver; so the headphones can keep performing through strenuous activity. Moisture Shield also provides an acoustic barrier to help smooth frequency response.
SecureFit Support: SecureFit Support is a flexible ear hook that wraps around your ear, so the earpiece stays in place. With SecureFit Support, you'll experience a snug yet comfortable fit. Now, you can put your headphones on and forget about them during your workout.
3 Pairs of StayFit Eartips: Properly fitted eartips help you to eliminate extraneous noise, experience greater bass response, and enjoy better tonal balance. Eartips that fit correctly also feel more comfortable. No two person's ears are exactly the same, so Polk includes 3 different sizes (S/M/L) of StayFit silicone eartips to ensure a secure and comfortable fit for optimum audio performance.
Ultra Flexible Tangle-Free Planar Audio Cable: Standard round headphone cables always coil up and twist; and are a constant source of annoyance, because they get in the way of your workout. Eventually repetitive twisting means the cable will break or pull out at the end. The UltraFit's planar design (with oxygen-free wire for better conductivity) completely eliminates coiling, so the headphone cables won't tangle up during a workout, or when stored away. The planar design also eliminates micro-phonics, the tendency of an electronic device to turn a mechanical vibration into "noise," which you would hear, in this case, through the headphones.
StrainGuard: Sports headphones get a lot of abuse. UltraFit Sports Headphones have been designed with this in mind. StrainGuard is a protective system that addresses the areas where sports headphones fail most often. A Kevlar core that houses the speaker wire provides extra tensile strength to prevent the wire from being pulled apart at common failure points. The other points of common failure in sports headphones are at transitional points between cable lengths and at connection points. In the UltraFit Series, all transitional connections are computer designed to strengthen the points where they fail most.
3 Cable Lengths: UltraFit Series headphones come with three cable length options, so you can wear your music device the way that works best for you. The attached 14" headphone cable lets you clip your portable music player to your shirt collar (with included shirt-clip), an included 41" headphone extension cable enables you to wear your music player on your waist or pants pocket, while the supplied 14" headphone extension cable lets you wear your iPod nano, iPod shuffle, or other MP3 players on a t-shirt sleeve.
3.5mm Connector: All UltraFit Sports Headphones employ a gold-plated 3.5mm connector that has been designed to fit through the opening on most portable audio player cases.
Moisture Resistant Soft Case: The UltraFit Sports Headphones include a moisture resistant soft case for storage, transport, and protection of the headphones and its included accessories (extension cables, ear-tips, shirt clip).

Rather have the Klipsch headphones but my reward points came to $51.00 so I chose the Polk audio. I've heard good things about Polk. [ David Feb 02, 2016 ]
