An Infinity Reference subwoofer makes every deep note of your music count. Whether you listen to jazz, rock, hip-hop, country, or all of the above, you'll hear and feel satisfying bass with this sub in your car.

The 12" Reference 1260w offers a classy, no-nonsense look, with a high-gloss polypropylene cone that's accurate and hard-hitting. The durable large-roll rubber surround provides smooth, extended excursion with reduced distortion so you get impressive bass performance.

The 1260w's unique motor structure cuts down on the mounting depth, and this sub works in sealed, ported, and bandpass enclosures so you get bass the way you want it. And since you want your investment to last, the 1260w features plenty of internal cooling to protect the sub's inner workings and keep it performing at its peak.

Enclosure Compatibility

Features

High-efficiency Polypropylene Woofer Cone: This lightweight and popular material is used to ensure maximum woofer efficiency. The benefit is high output with modest amplifier power.

Large-roll Rubber Surround: The large-roll rubber surround provides optimum cone-edge suspension and absorbs distortion that may travel up the cone edge, ensuring clean, tight bass.

Proprietary Basket: The unique in-board motor structure reduces the overall mounting depth, without limiting enclosure options.

Vented Polepiece: The vented polepiece provides additional cooling of the motor structure, thus increasing power handling.

Progressive Spider: The subwoofer uses a progressive spider, which provides better control at excursion limits than more commonly used linear spiders. The result is reduced distortion at high output levels.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: Infinity recommends a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 1.25 cu/ft. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle more power, and provide more accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.

Ported Box Volume: Infinity recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 2.0 cu/ft with one 4" diameter x 10" long port. Ported (or vented) enclosures provide better efficiency in the 40-50Hz range, and are suitable for use with small amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of sound quality at low frequencies (40Hz and below), and control.

Bandpass Box Volume: Infinity recommends a bandpass enclosure with an internal volume of 2.25 cu/ft. The enclosure has a sealed chamber volume of 1.0 cu/ft and a ported chamber volume of 1.25 cu/ft with two 4" diameter x 8" long ports. Bandpass enclosures often provide the most output available from any amplifier and subwoofer combination at the expense of sonic accuracy. If sheer SPL is desired most, a bandpass enclosure is recommended.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
How can I tell if my infinity 12 inch sub is 2 ohm or 4 ohm and can I bridge my infinity 12 inch sub?

A
You don't bridge a sub. An amp can be bridged depending on its capabilities. When multiple subs are wired in parallel or series together, this raises or lowers the ohms the amp will see when connecting to the amp.

Mine came with a sheet marked "Infinity Reference 1260w 12" Woofer - Technical Data". On that sheet it states the Nominal Impedance is 4 Ohms. It makes no mention of bridging capability.
