If music is your passion, not just a diversion in the car, Kappa 462.5cfp speakers are made for you! The Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm woofer and C.M.M.D. tweeter, mounted side-by-side on the plate, play your music accurately and with excellent clarity.

C.M.M.D. woofers are constructed by "sandwiching" an aluminum cone between two layers of ceramic, creating an extremely rigid yet responsive driver that generates impressive bass. Likewise, the C.M.M.D. dome tweeters offer superior stiffness and damping for stunningly realistic highs. High-roll rubber surrounds and a unique basket design increase bass output and efficiency. Grilles are not included — use your factory grilles for installation.

Product Highlights:

  • Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm woofer with hi-roll rubber surround
  • 3/4" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter

Great for a Jeep

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These replaced the front speakers for my 04 Wrangler. Excellent mids and highs...lows leave a little to be desires, but I didn't expect much from the low end. Fantastic vocal (voice) representation completely through the vocal range. I recommend these to anyone!

Great for a Jeep

Written by: mrb from Columbus, Ohio, USA on April 5, 2005

I recently ordered these 4x6 Kappas to replace an older set of Eclipse speakers I had installed years ago in my 99 Wrangler. My Alpine V12 5-channel amp (just enough power for some decent sound) along with new 5.25 Kappas in the Soundbar and an 8-inch JL Audio custom mini sub, and for the first time, it does not sound like a jeep stereo.

Don't waste your time with the lower level 4x6 (or 5.25 soundbar speakers) if you have problems with the mounting depth like in a jeep. Spend the extra $$, upgrade your head unit or add a modest amp, and you will be amazed at the difference $50 can make.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are ok but they lack the clarity I was excepting from a set of Infinitys. To me they just sound a little flat. I too had a little problem with the install and I have done this type of work for years

Out of the box performance!

Written by: Chris from Edina,MN on March 19, 2005

When i first opened the boxes and pulled these speaker out, just the size of the voice coils are impressive. They are the same size as the woofer itself. I installed these in my 1988 VW Caborilet, and they were not just a dropin replacement. I had to make a custom mounting box for them, but they sound better then anything out there, if you are an Infinity fan like I am, then you know what everyone else says about Infinity they are the best and they mean quality. Also the performance is heart stoping for such little speakers, they put out some big bass. The highs are relistic and are very crisp and crystal clear. And for the mids, they sound as if someone was right there infront of you talking to you.

Features

Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.): Infinity's C.M.M.D. technology delivers accurate performance with dramatically reduced distortion for incredibly lifelike sound. Additionally, the C.M.M.D. drivers can withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity and sunlight.

C.M.M.D. Plus One Woofer Cones: These speakers use cones approximately 30% larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency. In addition, the C.M.M.D. cones virtually eliminate coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy.

Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

C.M.M.D. Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 3/4" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.
