The Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm woofer and C.M.M.D. tweeter, mounted side-by-side on the plate, play your music accurately and with excellent clarity. C.M.M.D. woofers are constructed by "sandwiching" an aluminum cone between two layers of ceramic, creating an extremely rigid yet responsive driver that generates impressive bass. Likewise, the C.M.M.D. dome tweeters offer superior stiffness and damping for stunningly realistic highs. High-roll rubber surrounds and a unique basket design increase bass output and efficiency. Grilles are not included use your factory grilles for installation. Features Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.): Infinity's C.M.M.D. technology delivers accurate performance with dramatically reduced distortion for incredibly lifelike sound. Additionally, the C.M.M.D. drivers can withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity and sunlight. C.M.M.D. Plus One Woofer Cones: These speakers use cones approximately 30% larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency. In addition, the C.M.M.D. cones virtually eliminate coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy. Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output. C.M.M.D. Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 3/4" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes. My Alpine V12 5-channel amp (just enough power for some decent sound) along with new 5.25 Kappas in the Soundbar and an 8-inch JL Audio custom mini sub, and for the first time, it does not sound like a jeep stereo.Don't waste your time with the lower level 4x6 (or 5.25 soundbar speakers) if you have problems with the mounting depth like in a jeep. Spend the extra $$, upgrade your head unit or add a modest amp, and you will be amazed at the difference $50 can make. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Written By Chris, Edina,MN on Saturday, March 19, 2005 When i first opened the boxes and pulled these speaker out, just the size of the voice coils are impressive. They are the same size as the woofer itself. I installed these in my 1988 VW Caborilet, and they were not just a dropin replacement. I had to make a custom mounting box for them, but they sound better then anything out there, if you are an Infinity fan like I am, then you know what everyone else says about Infinity they are the best and they mean quality. Also the performance is heart stoping for such little speakers, they put out some big bass. The highs are relistic and are very crisp and crystal clear. And for the mids, they sound as if someone was right there infront of you talking to you. 8 out of 10 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
