RICH, FULL SOUND
Written By

Installed in the rear of my wife's 2007 Aveo5. Cruchfield said they would not fit. I had to trim the car's speaker grills on the underside and also had to trim one corner off of the speakers' plastic plates. HUGE improvement over the stock speakers which sounded like someone with marbles in his/her mouth and talking through a styrofoam cup. I am always a fan of Infinity products having their speakers in my truck as well as another car I previously owned. I'm currently running them off of the stock deck, but will be adding an amplifier, sub, new deck, dynamat in entire car, and Infinity 42.7 Kappas to the front doors (which I purchased with the 462.7cfp's) as soon as the weather warms up. The amplifier should really make these speakers "come to life".

These are about what I expect of a 4x6 speaker. I have them paired with Infinity Kappa 60.9cs components, and they're really just to fill out the sound from the rear. The highs aren't that high (even with the tweeter set to +3db), but my front components do fine in that department. They're powered off an Alpine 9886, with 300Hz bass blockers and speaker baffles installed too. Again, not bad sound for filling the rear stage and for the price.

sounds good, but....

Got these for the dash of my 94 C/K 1500 to replace the stock paper speakers. I have these running of the factory radio (for now) and they sound good, but can't handle all the bass my stockers could. I will be hooking these to an amp soon and installing a set of bass blockers at that time. The +/- db switch for the tweeters is a nice feature.
C/K owners beware!
1) You have to cut metal tabs in the dash to mount these which isn't a big deal.
2) The front factory bolts were not long enough to bolt these down so I jerryrigged it with some longer phillips screws.
3) There are no speaker terminal connectors or wires with this kit so you will have to get some of your own wire to and either sauder to the speakers and splice into the factory wires, or buy some terminals to crimp on your wires and splice to factory wires which are extremely short after you cut off the factory terminal.
4) Crutchfield does not provide the factory wiring diagram for the front speaker wires.
All of the above is a total disappointment, however I did not let if affect the rating. I gave these three of five stars because I expect a set of speakers by infinity to handle the bass the 15 year old OEM paper speakers did. They don't, but I did expect as much.

I love infinty. only downfall with these is the coil coming out the back behind the tweeter. attempted installing these in 99 k1500 chevy. the coil was grounding out on the metal v on the panel. ended up taping it with electrical tape. works great ^_^
would recommend these to anyone who need little speakers...be wary of the copper coil though..

Won't fit 1990 Chevy C-Series Dash
Written By
bullert, McLean, VA on Wednesday, July 09, 2008
I originally bought these speakers for the dash of my 1990 Chevy C-1500
Dash. The site recommended them as an OEM fit. They don't fit. The right
speaker bumps the heater plenum. However-Cruthfield was more than
helpful finding a replacement and promptly sending it out. Overall- great
service by Cruthfield.
