Infinity's Kappa Series 60.11cs 6-3/4" component speakers continue in the tradition of this legendary line of speakers, offering rugged construction and impressive sound quality. Once installed, this system will bring out every nuance and detail in your favorite music tracks, making time spent in your car seem more like a concert than a commute.
If you're looking for natural-sounding high frequencies, Infinity uses edge-driven 3/4" soft dome tweeters in this system. The "edge-driven" design results in a larger tweeter that handles more power and delivers smooth response way down into midrange frequencies not covered by smaller "W"-shaped domes. You'll hear a more clearly defined soundstage where you can picture the placement of every instrument. Infinity includes hardware for surface- or flush-mounting the tweeters, plus Starfish brackets that help you install the tweeters in many factory tweeter openings.
If you like bass, the Kappa glass fiber woofer holds its shape when the power's cranked up, so you still get punchy and defined bass. Glass fiber weighs less than traditional materials, so you don't need a ton of power to drive this woofer. Infinity's Plus One+ woofer technology extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, giving you more surface area than with most comparable speakers. A bigger cone means more bass to complement the superior high-frequency response. The included external crossovers send the appropriate frequencies to the tweeters and woofers.
These 2-ohm speakers are sensitive enough that you can power them with an aftermarket stereo, but you'll get your best results feeding them plenty of power from an outboard amp — up to 90 watts RMS. Grilles are included.
Note: Infinity describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.
Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

The sounds these speakers exude are fantastic!
These are the best speakers I've ever owned! I replaced the front speakers in my 2013 fusion with this component set. These speakers love to get loud so you'll definitely want an amp to power them. Bass is incredible. Everyone asks if I have subs and I say not yet! By the way do not purchase the foam speaker baffles with them. They don't let air move behind the speaker with them in and it sounds terrible with the foam baffles. I installed the foam baffles then took them back out and they sound incredible! Infinity also sends multiple speaker mounts for the tweeters and with one of their mounts, the tweeters fit perfect in my factory tweeter locations.
Pros: Incredible bass, tweeters fit perfect in factory location, very loud
Cons: None at all!
I really like the separate tweeter and woofer concept. Fortunately, my car doors already had the tweeter and woofer separate, so installation was fairly easy. The woofer fit right into the existing space. The tweeter required some additional work as it did not mount the same way to the door. I was able to use one of the included mounting brackets to get it to work.
Pros: Different mounting brackets are included to assist in different mounting situations.
Several reasons why Kappa series provide great value and sound performance. The engineering and quality live up to the Infinity name as does the unbeatable Crutchfield tech support. This Kappa series employs very crisp cross-over signal conditioning allowing the woofer and tweeter optimum frequency split for sound reproduction and quality. This series technology is designed for 2 ohm resistance in your sound system. This means you head unit or amplifier power is maximized. The lower the ohm resistance the the higher the watts available to drive the speaker magnetic sound coils. A standard 4 ohm resistance speaker suffers double the power loss versus a 2 ohms speaker. This a big benefit if your cost conscience and want to save cost on the amplifier power. But the big story for me is the sound quality is clear and crisp throughout the sound spectrum.
Pros: Sound quality, low power losses, cross-over signal separation design, top quality manufactured product
I was a professional calling car audio installer for close to a decade. I have installed component systems from many manufacturers including kicker, Alpine type R, pioneer, Kenwood, Polk, JL audio, M B Court, you name it I've installed most brands. These sound as good as any that I've installed unless you're willing to spend A lot more money and even after spending a lot more money the difference in quality of sound is not good enough to justify spending that extra money. I have mine installed in a 1989 Ford Mustang and I get plenty of bass, competing with engine, exhaust and road noise. If any of you are installing 6 1/2 and speakers components or full range speakers without installing dynamat you're not going to get any bass only a fool replaces speakers without dynamating the surface that they're putting the new speakers in. If you want bass use dynamat! Or buy a subwoofer! Learn from the professionals or pay them to do it, listen to their advise and don't go cheap! Ever watch overhaulin? They use sound deadener on every build. Don't tune your system to distortion!
Pros: Best sound for the dollar
After six months I really have tried to find a way to come to another conclusion besides.... These speakers are crap. The reviews I saw for them were great and after doing my fair of research to find a decent pair of speakers that would hold the midrange under a little bit of power they fail miserably. When played loudly they sound like they are blown. I don't even have that much power running to them (about 70w RMS) For the price I thought I would have protected myself from this. Maybe this is why they are on the verge of discontinuing this model. Beware this model.
Pros: Infinity is a cool brand
Cons: The speakers are horrible. The distort under moderately loud play and sound blown.
You can't go wrong with Infinity Kappas, they sound great
Best sounding speakers I have ever owned
Pros: Everything about them ,but the cost
These speakers are crystal clear and have great bass!
Pros: Great bass! Great sound quality.
Cons: None! A bit pricey, but worth the extra $$
What can I say? These are the best car speakers I've ever heard. I don't write reviews much, but certainly feel these deserve one. After fighting to find great sound with other brands (some of which were 3 times the cost), I ordered a pair of Kappa 60.11cs's. The depth, clarity, and detail of these speakers is unmatched, and quite mind blowing for that matter. The full balanced mids and sparkling highs are incredible. I'm able to turn up the volume nice and loud without hurting my ear drums. I'm powering them with a Fosgate amp. I have a sub to handle the bass.
Pros: Incredible sound, better sound than more expensive brands, easy install
I installed these speakers in my 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder, paired with a Pioneer AVH-X2600BT DVD Receiver, and a Pioneer GM-A3602 60W x 2 Amplifier. I did the installation myself, and while I have done more than one or two in my life, (I'm 50+), it isn't something I am well versed at, and not something I would say I'm good at. Because of that, the install was slow, but that was more me trying to figure out the car's interior nuances, and not the fault of the gear. With the wiring harnesses and the amplifier wiring kit that I bought at the suggestion Cruthcfield's online messaging helper, the actual hookup went very smoothly. The directions were helpful and fairly easy to understand. I got all three pieces mounted the way I wanted, and it looks like it was done by a professional. Now a review of the sound, which is the purpose of buying all that equipment. I was told that these speakers are very efficient, and that I would get a good reproduction of the highs and lows. My online advisor's exact words were, "these things will rock, especially in that little car." He was right. I love the speakers. Great sound. They sound good at low volume, and they sound great at high volume. I was worried that the amp would be underpowered, but I was assured that because of the efficiency of the speakers, that it was a perfect match. They were right. Great products, and great customer service. Very pleased, and would buy again in a heartbeat.
Pros: High end equipment that performs as I was told it would
Cons: I have no complaints at all.
I have 2 pair of these installed in a 2015 Toyota Tacoma along with a 12 inch Infinity Kappa subwoofer, and Polk Audio amps (PA500.4 and PA 400.1). I have the hf cross-over on a Kenwood head unit set 100 hz. The speakers are loud, crisp, articulate, and clear.
Pros: Well engineered, wonderful bang for the buck!
Best quality speakers I've ever purchased and the results after installing them was excellent infinity have really out done themselves on the kappa 60.11cs
Pros: Great quality sound, great product over all
Cons: Complicated instillation
Exactly what I wanted. While it doesnt sound like an $800 component system but that wasnt what I was expecting from a $250 set of speakers. Add road and engine noise and you won't tell the difference. I drive these with a JL Audio XD400/4 which puts out 100w/channel into these 2 ohm drivers which is more than enough to fill the front with sound. Great middle-of-the-road component speaker and a great upgrade to any OEM stereo system, especially the anemic Boston Acoustics system that came in my Camaro.
Pros: Very good sound Mid range price Highs are bright and nit harsh
As with a couple other reviewers, I didn't originally want to spend this much on speakers for a truck that I drove occasionally. However, I got them on a great sale and was glad I did. They installed easily and sound great with the factory head unit and factory amp.
Pros: Great sound
I'll preface this by saying that I hadn't planned on spending this much for a pair of car speakers. I started off with some lesser speakers that, unfortunately, had tweeters too large to go into my intended location (replacing the in-dash drivers in an older Toyota Avalon.) So.. I begrudgingly upgraded, though now that the speakers are installed, have no regrets at all. The sound is smooth, the range is amazing, and the imaging is precise. I lost a bit of volume in the upgrade from factory speakers and think these would benefit from a more potent external amp, but will take the sound quality over quantity, any day of the week. (With limited budget, I'm sticking with the factory external JBL amp for now.) The listener fatigue I had with the factory speakers is gone. There's a slight bit of upper-end harshness to these that I expect will disappear after a few hours of use, but even my non-critically-listening friends can hear and appreciate the improvement. Infinity even supplies curved and flat molded logos to tastefully announce an upgrade hidden behind factory grilles.
Pros: Full, accurate sound. Incredible variety of mounting options on tweeters.
Cons: Woofer mounting holes were a bit off for easy installation, even with a variety of Infinity- and Crutchfield-supplied adapter rings. No wire supplied. Knowing this, I bought some 14 ga wire from Crutchfield, but it was too large for the supply of connectors I had. Crossovers didn't offer the same attachment flexibility as other components.
These are spectacular speakers for a range of music genres. They deftly handle anything from jazz and classical solo piano recordings to highly produce I couldn't be happier with this product!
Intense highs/mid-ranges and the clarity is total mindblowing.
Pros: Easy to install.
I recently bought these speakers about a month ago. I own a Mitsubishi 3000gt and it has a small interior. My goal was to get really great front speakers since it is a coupe. These speakers are an huge step up from stock speakers and 100 an under aftermarket speakers. What can I say? these speakers provide incredible sound but barely met my expectations for speakers within this price range. Like any component speaker, the high and low frequencies are divided very well by the crossover. The speakers are very loud for their size as well. I am running a kenwood kdc x397 unit with a 100 W max / 55 W rms amplifier. I love the high and mids that the speakers produce but they do lack on bass. At around 60 - 70 % volume the bass reaches its max and distorts a bit. Im running so Pioneer TS-A6975 6x9 in the back. The 6x9 are decent speakers that are very loud and produce great bass; They are my main source of bass in my car. I love these speakers and combined with songs that have great sound quality, not downloaded and converted from youtube, they produce amazing sound. I would recommend these to anyone looking for speakers with great high and mid frequencies.
Pros: great tweeter and I love the ability to switch between 0 dB and +3 dB on the crossovers. The +3 dB gives the speakers less bass and more emphasis on vocal and sound in general.
Cons: bass is okay
Clear crisp sound.
It is an amazing upgrade from stock speakers in a 2014 Subaru Outback from Harman Kardon to an aftermarket Infinity speaker made by same company. I did need to add an aftermarket amp to create a good sound in these speakers. The Subaru standard system was poorly designed by Harman Kardon in that almost all the sound was blasting at you from the tweeters designed into the dash and reflecting from the front window. It was unbearable and became so bad I had to keep the volume barely audible and moved to front to back fade 20% front/80% back. Although the sound was good with this speaker set alone...the sound did not round out until I added the component speakers bought on Crutchfield from Infinity. The pricing on the speakers from Crutchfield was much better than at the local shop. Thanks Crutchfield.
Pros: They are a good speaker.
Cons: They don't create a WOW factor and additional amp is needed. They have slight distortion at high volume. Best not to really crank it, but will be plenty loud for some head banging on 60-70% volume. (I had gotten use to a THX system in my prior car...no much will compare).
These speakers ROCK!! They are LOUD and CLEAR!!
Pros: I would continue to buy Kappa's all day long, they have been an extremely good product from the first time I bought Kappa's 20+ yrs ago.
Awesome crystal clear sound
Pros: Very well made
Phenomenal difference! I had some 6x8 coax infinitys before switching to these components and the time and effort was well worth it. The tweeters are super clear. They are a little brighter than a silk dome, but cut through the road/ambient noise with ease. The mids are just as impressive, I can't say enough about these speakers, but there are some cons. This is the first time that I've purchased speakers that didn't at least come with wiring, there were no instructions either. The mounting options for the tweeters was a disappointment as well. I originally wanted to mount them in the sail panel to keep them close to shoulder level, but the only basket with a trim ring would have required a huge hole to be cut in the panel, and then the tweeter would be sticking out almost an inch. Not a good look in my opinion. I ended up using the stock location and attaching one of the baskets to the back of the door panel. Looks and sounds great, so I guess it's o.k. in the end.
Pros: Very clear, high quality.
Cons: No instructions/wiring, limited install options.
I replaced the tired and buzzy OEM speakers on my venerable 1999 Saab 9-5 SE with these beautiful speakers. The Infinity Kappa 60.11cs were a logical choice for replacing the stock Saab speakers, which interestingly enough were also manufactured by Harman-Kardon nearly 15 years ago. Sticking with the family pedigree enabled me to find those rare 2 ohm impedance speakers that were specified for my car's AS3 sound system. (Before starting this project, I decided to keep the stock H-K electronics and not add any aftermarket amplifiers.) The evolution in product design and quality is very noticeable. Be advised that the upgrade is not a simple pull and plug, some minor car modifications are required for the installation. For the front doors, I had to use a Dremel grinder to shave the inside ribs of the OEM mounts, then drill four new screw holes, to accept the 6.5" speakers. For the tweeters in the front dash, I used the supplied I-mount "starfish" fastened underneath a fabricated MDF adapter plate, so that the domes would not interfere with the stock speaker covers. Connections to the auto harness were simplified by using Metra 72-6512 connectors; no harness cuts or splices were required. The improvement in sound quality is remarkable. I mostly listen to jazz; the vocal phrasings, string and wind instruments are very crisp, articulate and well-blended. I like these new speakers so much that I'll probably take them with me when I sell my car several years down the road!
Pros: Solid construction, fine engineering and design, outstanding sound. Excellent phrasing. Two ohm impedance design plays well with my stock stereo. The kit includes a generous variety of mounting hardware.
Cons: Wish that the starfish would have spanned larger openings, so that I wouldn't have to fabricate a custom mounting plate.
I bought these when they went on sale and couldn't be happier! Replaced the stock component speakers in my Crossfire and even without an amp running to them these sound amazing! They're efficient enough to produce fantastic sound at low RMS but hit them with 60-90 watts and get ready for bliss in your ears!
Pros: Great sound even at low RMS Superb sound with a dedicated amp Great build quality
Great clarity, but no bass what so ever.....putting a small sub to these speakers would be perfect
Cons: No bass
Sound much better than the factory Infinity speakers that my truck came with!
These are some of the best sounding components I've heard. They are very clear with detailed highs and mids. Great build quality and are very efficient too. Great for classical and jazz.
Pros: Detailed and clear. Broad frequency range. Glass fiber woofers. Composite basket. Very efficient. 2 Ohms Build quality
Cons: Instructions could be better
Installed a pair in the rear doors on a 2001 Durango RT using the free adapter kit. I kept the Infinity factory radio and amplifier installation. Everything worked perfect.
Pros: Quality parts and packaging.
Great product. No problems at all
I purchased these speakers to replace the factory Bose speakers. The sound is great. It took some adjusting to get the sound just right but once it was adjusted, I could not have made a better choice for the money. I purchased the amp, wiring and also a pair of Kappa 62's. for the rear. I was familiar with the 62's as I installed in a previous truck.. If this is your choice, you won't be disappointed.
they sound amazing! installed in my 2005 Dodge Ram quad cab. mounted the tweeters in the dash, woofers in the front doors. top quality stuff here. they sounded even better after I fixed my wiring that I did wrong. swapped the input with the output of the woofer lol but Crutchfield tech support was just a phone call away and helped me right out! powered with alpine mrx-v70.
Pros: quality parts, sounds great
Cons: none that i can find

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One woofer cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.
Formed Glass Fiber Woofer Cones: The formed glass fiber cone material is very light and extremely stiff, minimizing flex. This results in very low distortion and improved clarity.
iCGM frames: The Kappa series speaker baskets are made of composite Injected Carbon Glass Matrix (iCGM). iCGM is lighter and stronger than stamped steel; it retains its shape, even when mounted on uneven surfaces (common in car mounting locations), plus offers exceptional damping of any resonances.
Woofer Size: This component set is marketed as having 6-1/2" woofers; they will fit in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings (approximately 5" diameter), but do not use the standard 6-1/2" speaker bolt pattern. In order to install them in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings you must drill new screw holes. If new holes are drilled in the mounting surface of the car, no bracket is needed. If drilling in the car is not an option, the included brackets can be used, which have standard 6-1/2" mounting holes and the Ford non-symmetric four hole pattern. When using the brackets the depth becomes 1.885" and the mounting height becomes 0.773".
Terminals: The woofers' input terminals are gold-plated set screws that will accept up to 12 gauge bare wire.
High-Output Design: The high output 2-ohm voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring and extracts every watt from factory receivers, increasing overall system output and efficiency (relative to 4 ohm speakers). The speaker's 2.0-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of the factory speaker wire presents a true 4-ohm load to your connected headunit or amplifier. The speakers also benefit from increased power when you upgrade the wire and add aftermarket amplifiers, designed to power a 2-ohm load.
Edge Driven: The 3/4" edge-driven tweeters use textile soft domes. An edge-driven tweeter has better dispersion characteristics and allows for a lower crossover frequency than typical tweeters of the same size, which improves imaging. The result is improved vocals and musical clarity.
Tweeter Mounting: The I-Mount tweeter mounting system and Starfish mounting brackets give you several different ways to mount the tweeters:
Tweeter Mounting Dimensions:
|I-Mount Surface Mount||I-Mount Flush Mount||Starfish Surface Mount (behind grille panel)||Starfish Flush Mount (behind grille panel)||Starfish Bottom Mount (to grille panel)||Starfish Flush Mount (in-dash location)|
|Depth||0.372" (screw depth)||0.778"||0.331" (screw depth)||0.586"||1.077"||0.586"|
Crossovers: The crossovers use low-loss air core inductors, low-hysteresis polypropylene capacitors, and high-quality resistors. Each crossover has a tweeter output level switch; choose between flat and +3dB.
Connections: Each crossover has set screw input and output terminals that will accept up to 10 gauge bare wire.
Power Handling: Although Infinity lists the RMS power handling as 90 watts, they also list the recommended power range as 5-200 watts RMS. We've opted to list the more conservative 90 watt RMS figure on the specifications page.

They are the best [ Seth Sep 08, 2016 ]
Awesome sounding [ Wayne Feb 27, 2016 ]
I purchased the previous model of the kappas several years back and loved the sound they produced. [ CAITLIN Feb 14, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. For information on comparing two or more models I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences and help you make the best choice for your system and your budget. [ Kenny Aug 16, 2016 ] Staff
I just twisted the speaker wire tip up tight and inserted it into the slot. A few turns of the screw pinches the wire down and keeps it just fine. No problems. [ William A. Jun 08, 2016 ]
Sorry Ben, I had someone else install my system for me. All I can tell you is they sound incredible. Sorry I was no help. [ CHRISTOPHER Jun 07, 2016 ]
The beauty of these kinds of terminals is that you don't need a connector . Simply strip the wire insert and tighten the screw down . Some people like to tint the end of the wire with solder, I don't like to do this however because it creates a hard in flexible surface for the screw to tighten down on. [ SCOTT Jun 07, 2016 ]
I didn't buy them for power handling but spl i was looking for sound quality at some loud playing but not constant. [ kenneth Feb 01, 2016 ]
I ran an alpine deck with mine that was rated 25 Watts per Chan max which means about 17 Watts rms. I had two subs for my bass with an 1000 watt class D amp hooked only to the subs. I ran 4 Kappas in the door and sounds great. Great for muds and highs but don't expect much bass [ Eric Feb 01, 2016 ]
Not sure how to answer this question, however, I am running a punch 1000x5 channel amp (set at125 watts RMS x 4 + 300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms) powering these kappas. These speakers have no problem handling this abuse. [ Thomas Feb 01, 2016 ]
I am running these speakers at 90 watts rms at 2 ohms with an amp that can safely run at 2 ohms. The amp is rated at 100 watts rms so it matches well with this speaker and sounds great. If you buy these speaker, make sure the amp you are running is safe to run at 2 ohms. Some Amps can run at 4 ohms and 2 ohms. I would not run these speakers straight from a radio or an amp that is only supposed to be ran at 4 ohms. These speakers would pull to much power from your radio or amp and could ruin them. Try to Match speaker rms and amp rms to get the best out your amp and speakers. Since these speakers are meant to be used at 2 ohms, use with an amp that is safe to use at two ohms. [ Benjamin Feb 01, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system. [ Krissy Jan 29, 2016 ] Staff
These speaker has quality sound but you will have to change your head unit and put an Amplifier for you get the proper sound. [ LLOYD A Aug 03, 2015 ]
