Find what fits your car

Install Infinity Reference 6022i 6-1/2" speakers in your car and change the way you think about long road trips and traffic jams. Reference speakers play your music boldly and cleanly, making your listening time more enjoyable.

Reference speakers feature low impedance so they extract maximum power from any amplifier or car stereo. Infinity makes their Plus One+ woofers 30% larger than other speakers in the same size category. As a result, you'll enjoy deeper bass and higher efficiency for an impressive performance.

The textile dome tweeters feature oversized voice coils that match the tweeters' diameter, a design that provides more surface area for heat dissipation and allows higher power handling. You can adjust the sound to your liking with the tweeter level control. In addition, you can swivel the tweeters up to 350 degrees, aiming them directly at you for a more focused soundstage. You'll hear smoother, more accurate response, with more sparkle and detail in your music.

Infinity makes sure that your installation stays stress-free by including Intermount III, a proprietary mounting system that allows you to install these 6-1/2" speakers in a variety of 6" to 6-3/4" factory locations. You'll also find adapters that fit many domestic and imported cars.

Important Note: These Infinity speakers use a low impedance design to pull more power safely from your car stereo or amplifier. This design is compatible with virtually all factory and aftermarket stereos.

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Excellant replacement speaker

The bass that is coming out of these speakers is incredable. I did not realize just how bad the other speakers actually where. The installation was a snap I had them installed probably withing an hour.

Great full range speaker

Written By Chris, Birmingham, AL on Monday, February 08, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are great full range speakers. No complaints except I agree about them taking a little while to break in. I redid all four OEMs and am running them off a Kenwood 22 rms x 4 hu and they sound fantastic.

Thinking about getting a small amp to power the rears just for the fun of it. Despite what Crutchfield says they fit into my 2001 Honda Civic. I used the .5 inch spacer for the doors, otherwise it would have been a tight fit. I had to drill new holes for the speakers, but this was very easy to do. Any professional installer would know how to do this as well.

I highly recommend this speaker, go listen to it locally and buy it from Crutchfield as they are about half price. If the display is missing or messed up read some of the other posts as this is a great sounding speaker. Of course, you will be disappointed if you want subwoofer like sounds from this full range speaker, but personally I have been satisfied enough with the 6022s to forego installing a sub.

Can't go wrong with Infinity

Written By Michael, Akron, OH on Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am a real Infinity Reference speaker fan; since 2006, I've bought a pair of
6012si, 2 pairs of 6022si's, one set of 60221's, 2 sets of 1011t 4 ohm
tweeters, a set of 6020 cs component's and a 1252 Sub woofer. I have been
planning to mount the 6022i's in the back pillar of a 94 Camaro. I plan on
running at least 50W RMS, either from my Alpine amp, or buying another
amplifier. The rotating tweeter looks really effective, the aiming of the highs
from the rear to the front should go well, looking forward to using the tweeter
adjustment. The power handling is very good for this series of speakers. They
have no problem handling a lot of power, probably a bit more than advertised.
I have the set of 6012si's in my truck crossed over at 80 Htz, running with 40 +
watts RMS power. I also have one set of the tweeters hooked up to them.
Infinity speakers are very clear;
they're easy on the ears, but loud. The tweeters won't burn your ears up while
you're jamming full blast, but your ears will ring after wards. Very clean
sounding; just as clear when turned up to about 30 as they are at 14, just
louder. Very clear, not hissing. At this price, you should be like me and buy
an extra set! You won't find another speaker of this quality even at the full
price, these are a real deal.

These will fit

Written By wayner, Ottawa Ontario on Thursday, January 21, 2010

I bought these speakers for an '04 Accord and I installed them in the front doors with very little trouble.They fit into the cheap speaker frame that comes installed in the Accord.Along with a pair of Infinity tweeters in the front doors,6x9 Kappas in the rear panel and a 600 watt Sony amp the sound is fantastic.Played at low volume for my wife the sound is crisp and clear with plenty of bass and at near max volume for my grandkids they do not distort and produce loud and clear sounds.{even if I don't appreciate the new music}
The sound was so good I installed 4-6022i's in my '07 Civic with the OEM subwoofer and I am very pleased with the results!Great speakers!!!

It took a while for these speakers to fully break in, sounded alittle bright for my taste until they had some playing time on them and they are now sounding much better. I am fully satisfied with these and would recommend them! I also have the slim model in my rear deck.

Iv had these speakers for about 4 months hooked up to my factory stereo. Even with the factory head unit these are surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting these to sound good but they sound pretty good. im thinking about getting a new headunit and subs just to finish off my system, but for these speakers i give to thumbs up and would recommended to anyone who's looking for good speakers for a good price

I bought 2 sets of these to replace the speakers in my camper. They were an exact fit and they sound great with my new Pioneer deck. The bass isn't really deep but I wasn't expecting that from these speakers.

Great for replacing factory speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I finally replaced my factory speakers with these, and the jump in quality is impressive. I like being able to choose whether I want the tweeter "boost" on or not, and also being able to easily point the tweeter in the direction I want. The bass is surprisingly deep for 6.5" speakers.

I have never owned Infinity speakers before since I've always had Sony Explods. However, the Infinity's were a great price and my hubby swears by them. After he installed them, I couldn't believe the sound quality. IT'S AMAZING! I can have these speakers blaring and the quality is still incredible and for the price, you can't beat it. Thanks Infinity & Crutchfield!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I initially purchased these speakers for the rear deck of my car. After
patiently awaiting the arrival of my new speakers I set out to do the install
myself. It was the most frustrating thing. I went with the recommendation
of the "outfit my car" module stating that these speakers would fit in my
rear deck, but they didn't. Even with the plethora of speaker adaptor
brackets that were sent with my package it still could not fit. I did plug
them in to hear the difference b/w the factories and the replacements and
there wasn't much of a difference, only that they sounded a little bit louder
than the factories at the same volume and it did distort as much. However,
I considered putting them in my front doors since those speakers needed a
change and they were the most amazing thing, I could hear a lot of details
I never noticed in my music (dancehall, reggae, rock, alternative, pop)
before. It was a rough job trying to get the speakers in the doors because
the adaptor brackets were useless, but I got them in anyway. You could
really hear a diffence when you take advantage of the pivoting dome
tweeters. These speakers are awesome and the only reason why I gave it
a 4/5 is because I didn't get to install them in my intended location. I guess
some 6 * 9" should do the trick.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great replacement for muddy, paper coned front factory speakers but definitely should be pared with larger rears or a sub. Mine are driven directly by an Alpine deck and sound very crisp without being shrill or tinny. Also, Crutchfield's price of $40 less than local stores was nice.

Love these things

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got these a few months ago, and i love them! they have great bass, mids, and the highs are pretty good too, i have the +3db button in but i may take it off as it makes the highs too tinny sounding at times, great upgrade from the stock speakers in my 02 pt cruiser. Only real complaint is that the +3db button is blocked by the door panel so you have to take the panel off each time you want to press the button. So my suggestion would be to test the system with the door panel off and see what setting you like better. Highly Recommended.

I called to verify that these speakers would fit and Brad told me everything I needed to know and then some. Great purchase experience. I purchased these speakers to replace the blown factory speakers in the front doors of my 2006 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab. I had to drill eight small holes and attached the wiring pig tail supplied by Crutchfield, mounted the speakers in the doors buttoned it back up and was enjoying awesome sounds from my factory stereo in no time flat. The mids and highs were awesome and the bass was just fine. I have seen many complaints of lack of bass from these speakers. I do not know what people were expecting but in my case it is equal if not more defined than the factory speakers. I highly recommend this product and Crutchfield..

The speakers sound pretty good in my 89 prelude. They are running off of a
kennwood kdc-x592, 22x4 rms. The speakers need an amp for the full
effect because they are a 2 ohm speaker they require more power. They
have nice bright highs and decent bass for 2 way speakers. Excellent price.

Speakers work well with factory receiver in my Pontiac Vibe. You may be disappointed if you do not surface mount the speakers as you cannot access the directible tweeter or its 3db enhance button after you install the door panel. Also the door panel grill blocks so much of the sound you will want to cut it out and use the grill provided with the speaker no matter what speaker you install. If you don't surface mount the speaker the speaker will sit about 1 3/4" deeper than the grill.

The speakers are just OK for a stock head unit. They probably would sound much better with an aftermarket radio. The application guide states they fit a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado (rear doors). NOT even close. I had to make an adapter plate out of 3/4 inch plywood. This has been my first purchase in a long time from Crutchfield. Too bad it didn't go as expected.

These Infinity speakers are top of the line & especially for the price. Crutchfield says that these dont fit in the factory location in a 06 h3 and wanted me to get the 6022si but i tried these and they fit perfectly i have them running off my Kenwood DNX5012 Head Unit that pushes 22x4RMS and they sound GREAT! Good crisp highs Mids are Detailed beautifully. Lows are not bass punding but its you expect in a 2 way setup....they do have a little punch though.Overall Great sound and for the price it cant be beat.

These speakers look and sound amazing. They were a huge upgrade from the Kenwood speakers that blew. I installed them as rear speakers in my civic and they added a new dimension of clarity and bass that I haven't had in the past. The install only took about 30 minutes and now I'm thinking of adding them in the front even though my front speakers are fairly nice. They also had a great price. If you're thinking about getting these speakers, get them. You won't be disappointed.

Great sound in Chevy Silverado crew cab

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these in the front doors of my Chevy Silverado 2500HD crew
cab. I put the SIs in the back and powered them with an old 4 channel
Alpine amp. Also, I added a Sony head unit and Blaupunkt powered sub to
round out the install. The speakers sound great and the entire package is
extremely clear and reproduces sound exactly to my taste. The Crutchfield
ordering and support process was world class. I consulted with several
people prior to making the buying decision and with a few questions during
the installation. This was my first install and it was a very rewarding
process to do everything the way I wanted it and have it sound amazing.
Do not hesitate, buy these speakers right now and enjoy the sound for
years to come.

Awesome Sound from Infinity... and Beyond!

Written By Bill, Temperance, MI on Tuesday, March 10, 2009

I purchased the Infinity 6022i speakers a year ago for my 1995 Saturn SC1. The installation was easy with all the adapter plates Infinity supplies with the speakers. I purchased two pairs, front & rear, and the quality of sound improved to audiophile grade levels. Along with that purchase, I bought an Infinity BassLink Subwoofer.
Recently, I added an Infinity 475a amplifier and a pair of Infinity 1021t tweeters, which have been custom installed through the dash top to appear as if they were OEM installed. All I can say is WOW!!! My sound system has never been better. Crisp, clear highs, sweet mid-tones, and the bass rolls off to the tight THUMP of the powered 10" sub.
I would also like to give honorable mention to Dynamat products that have helped dampen otherwise undesirable sound vibrations. I just wish Infinity made a head unit to put in my dash. For now my trusty Panasonic In-Dash will do. ARE YOU GETTING MY DRIFT? I LOVE MY INFINITY'S! :)
Just one other note to the readers of my product review - I am formerly a car audio installer, and car audio salesperson (back in the early-mid 1980's), a stereo fanatic, and I enjoy great music - loud and clear. I own an audiophile home theater and a "B___" system in my Cadillac SRX. I have heard many car audio systems, and I do not believe you will find a better value for your dollar when it comes to car audio. I give Infinity 2 Thumbs UP and Two Thumbs Up to Bill Crutchfield and company too!

I restore British sports cars and installed these on the rear panel behind
the seats of the '75 spitfire I'm currently working on. Because of the lack of
space, for this application, I was pleased with the 2" mounting depth and
the very durable covers. Sound quality is remarkable good. Low
frquencies are very solid as well as good crisp highs. The price
makes these speakers an overall excellent value.

Great Quality Sound from Low Power H/U

Written By Taffy, Omaha, NE on Sunday, February 22, 2009

I bought these to go with a 17 watt x 4 RMS Sony head unit that requires sensitive speakers. I'm not running an amp with my setup; its all strictly stock replacement. After trying some less than efficient Sony's and Pioneers, I ponied up more greenbacks to try these guys out. I am greatly impressed with the sound! The highs are crystal clear and sweet, and the lows had a nice punchiness to them. They are very articulate and nicely filled out sonically. I've read that they require a long break-in period to reach full potential, so I'm excited to see how they sound in several weeks. Crutchfield says they won't fit my 1997 Cavalier coupe, but they do with the 6x9 adapter plate. Four stars because the swivel tweeter causes rear deck to bulge a bit. I could probably fix this by cutting it and using speaker grills...I highly recommend these!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I only gave the speakers 4 stars as the sound from these was not up to par with the stock system in my Jeep. My jeep has the stock head unit, stock Amp etc. When connected these speakers did not compare to the factory speakers in sound, however, the Crutchfield advisor explained these speakers required more power than my amp was producing to drive them, hence the reduced quality in sound. In saying this, the build quality, fit and finish are excellent.
I did return them but only as I did not want to change out my amp etc. I recognise the issue is with my setup, not the speakers.

well i bought these speakers after parting with my old car that had 4 of them in it with a pioneer deck. I went the exact same route this time around going for four of these speakers and a pioneer DEH P4000UB. it did take a while to break these things in but now they sound awesome. I can listen to rock at extremely loud volumes without distortion (the 2ohm resistance helps these speakers draw a little extra power from the deck to reduce distortion) and they also give me a good amount of distortion free bass although i think i need to add a sub or two now with the great highs im getting. Overall the music is crisp and clear, these things blow my old speakers away. If you really want to get the most out of them though you'll need an amp and probably a sub as they cant hit the low notes. Overall an excellent purchase i am extremely happy with how these things sound.

Written By Lin0, flat rock, mi on Tuesday, June 03, 2008

well these are nice speakers, but they realistly need about 200 hours of break-in to become as efficient as the specs say they are. Decent punchy bass once broke in, and silky light highs. They definately deserve higher minimum RMS specs too. If not broke in, expect to be dissapointed in thier sound.

I recently purchased the reference speakers for a '01 nissan maxima in the front and rear doors without the bose. I have been pleased with the quality of sound produced. I am installing a 10 L5 kicker sub to increase the bass. These speakers are for people that enjoy music loud and clear. they are not meant for low bass notes. Also people with the bose speaker setup may need to puchase 5 1/4 for the rear doors or be ready for serious fabrication.

Great Product

Purchased these speakers about a month ago. Originally installed in my '04' Neon but it was totaled 2 days after install. I plan to ATTEMPT to install them in an '02' Impala even though Crutchfield said they won't fit, but it can't hurt to try and it's cheaper than buying new speakers. Anyway these speakers play your music loud and clear and with a 2 ohm rating it helps them suck extra power from the head unit. This is my first set of Infinity speakers and I absolutely love them upgraded from a set of Pioneer's that were great but they were a couple of years old.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wow. These speakers are amazing. I replaced the speakers in the front doors of my 04 Nissan Sentra along with an Alpine CDA 9883 head unit and these things scream! Everything plays how it was meant to sound. My friends who heard the before and after noticed how clear the music was.

If you're looking for clean and clear speakers, these are it. They compliment very well with subs. However if you're looking for bass strictly from your mids these may not be for you.

The only reason I give these speakers a 4 rather than a 5 is that the factory screws didn't work with my stock holes so I had to buy some self tapping screws. And being a first time installer of speakers, their directions that were included were extremely vague.

Good speakers.... but...

Written By Chris, Morgantown, WV on Monday, January 28, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have these speakers clear around in my car, and am very pleased with them. I knew they would not fit in my rear location, but I modified the speaker grills and made them fit. I liked the first set enough that I decided to get a set for up front. The brackets included were either incorrect for my car, or I was missing something. When I used the brackets, the door panel would not fit back on flush. I had to rig up the speakers and not use the brackets for them to fit.. I had to create my own spacers, basically.

The sound from these is amazing. I am pushing them with a Blaupunkt THA475 amp, which gives plenty of power with some to spare. Very good product, but may not be an easy fit for some vehicles... even if it says they will fit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought a pair of these for the front and a pair of 6022SI for the back of my '05 Sentra, and they sound GREAT. They're not even broken in yet and I'm thoroughly enjoying the music coming out of them. As far as sound quality goes, these speakers are sweet. I'd give them 5 out of 5 if I were only reviewing the sound quality. Unfortunately, I'm not. I've got a few gripes about installation. First, Infinity supplied screws that were too thin to attach the speaker to the bracket. They would just go into the holes and pop right back out. That was annoying, but an easy fix. 8 screws later and the brackets were attached to the speakers. Next, the speaker bracket I had to use would not fit into my car properly. Two screws would fit, but the third one would not. Of course, that was an easy fix with two self-tapping sheet metal screws. While both problems had easy solutions, neither should have happened.

5 out of 5 for sound quality, 1/2 a star for Infinity's engineers/manufacturing people/quality control for not checking that things actually work together. Overall I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 just because the sound quality is that good, and because the problems each had an easy fix. If the problems were more difficult, these speakers would have gone back to Crutchfield in a heartbeat, and I would have gotten something else. Here's to hoping that Infinity fixes these problems, and soon.

These speakers are amazing; good lows, mids, and highs. If you own a 1995 Jetta or anyone between 93-98, these will fit perfectly. Trust me, I purchased the polk 6-1/2 but they did not fit at all, not even with the speedclips. However, these infiniti speakers went in right away. 6-3/4 is the way to go, however the stock speaker cover did not go back on. The speaker sticks out at least an inch with the infiniti speaker cover, so if you plan on installing these in doors, make sure you have enough room from the speakers to the seats. Other than that, these speakers are definitely enough to replace stock speakers for more bass and clarity.

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Woofer Materials: Each woofer is constructed from Injection-Molded Polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also lighter weight and more rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

Textile Dome Tweeters (UniPivot Design): Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. The UniPivot design allows the tweeter to be pointed at the listeners location even when the speaker is mounted off axis. This optimizes the stereo image and ensures a more uniform response. The tweeter housing can be turned approximately 315 degrees.

Note: The tweeters are not made to turn 360 degrees. If they are turned 360 degrees or more, they will be damaged.

Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output 3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 2.65-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier.

Mounting: Infinity's mounting system allows the 6022i speakers to fit in 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications. Metal and plastic adapter rings are included for each speaker.
